John Shakespear 1736 - 1814

of Birmingham

Family tradition alleges descent from Gilbert Shakespeare, brother of the Poet, but this cannot be substantiated. The line currently begins with John Shakespeare born 1736. There are two records (both of which seem to descend from a Mordecai Shakespeare) of this date on the IGI - further research may decide which is the progenitor of the line shown below:
