The Will of

William Shakespeare,of Birmingham,Died 1830

 

In the name of God, Amen  I William Shakespear of Birmingham Heath, Glassmaker, do make this my last Will and Testament in manner following,

First I will and direct that all my debts shall be fully paid

Then I give, devise and bequeath unto my dear wife, Hannah, all my Estate and Effects both real and personal and of what nature or kind whatsoever or wheresoever the same may be to and for her sole use and benefit.

And from and after the decease of my said wife, I give the whole of my trade stock in and implements thereof unto my son Samuel.

And I give unto my Grandson, John Lowe, the sum of three hundred pounds, the same to be paid him on his attaining the age of twenty-one years

And from after the death of my said wife, I do further will and direct that as to the rest, residue and remainder of my said Estate and Effects as well freehold or personal, I give devise and bequeath the same unto my sons – William & Samuel Shakespear and my daughters Martha Page and Hannah Lowe their heirs and assigns forever as tenants in common not as joint tenants share and share alike but with respect to share ___________ of my said daughters I do hereby declare that shall be for their own sole use and benefit and not subject to the debts or control of their respective Husbands. 

And I do hereby revoke all former wills by me heretofore made.

In witness whereof I have hereunder set my hand and seal the thirty first day of July 1829.
