William Burrell. Doctor of Laws, Vicar General in Spirituals of the Right Reverend Father in God James by Divine Permission Lord Bishop of Worcester and Principal Official of his Consistory Court there lawfully appointed To our beloved in Christ George Rittson and David Collins Clerks Greeting Whereas William Shakespear late of the Parish of Preston Baggot in the County of Warwick and Diocese of Worcester widower lately died intestate We do therefore by these Presents authorise and impower you jointly and severally to administer in due form of Law the Oath hereunder written to John Shakespear the natural and lawful Son and next of Kin of the said decsd, And also to take and see the Bond hereunto annexed duly executed by the said John Shakespear the Administrator with two other sufficient Sureties and by them delivered as their Deeds for the Use of the Lord Bishop of Worcester in the Presence of two or more credible Witnesses,And you are hereby impowered further to do in the Promises as shall be needful and We do require, that such Oath being administered and the said Bond executed as aforesaid You duly transmit to us , or other competent Judge in this behalf, the said Bond and the whole Proceedings thereon subscribed with the proper Hand or Hands of one or both of you within one Month next after the Date hereof together with these Presents Given under the Seal of our Office the twentieth Day of March in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty seven.

The Form of the Oath

You shall swear that William Shakespear Decsd died intestate or without making any lawful last Will and Testament so far as you know or believe, that you are the natural and lawful son and next of kin of the said deccsd And will well and faithfully administer his Estate by paying his Debts, so far as his Goods, Chattels and Credits will thereto extend and the Law shall require you, And that you will exhibit into the Registry of the Conistory Court of Worcester a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the Goods, Chattels and Credits of the said decsd together with a just and true Account upon your Administration when you shall be lawfully called thereto and that the deceased's estate at his death did not amount to twenty pounds So help you God.

This Commission was duly executed and the Administrator sworn according to the Tenor and Effect of the same on the twenty third Day of March in the Year of our Lord 1767, before me George Rittson Commissioner
