Dated 2nd February 1565. In the name of God Amen the 2the day of February in the yeare of our Lorde God 1565. I Robert Shaxpere of the pishe of Wroxall beynge sycke in body but hole pfct in mynde & good rembrance do ordeyne & make my last wyll & testiment after this man and forme following. Fyrst & pryncipally my sole to the greate mercie of Almyghty God my Maker, & Redeemer & Sayvoure, & my bodie to be buryed in the pshe churche or churcharde of Wroxall. Item I give & bequethe to my sonne Nycholas Shaxpere one heffer of iij yeares old my best pan my best coffer a payre of shetes a couerlet of carpet worke a sylver spone ij pewter dysshes one table bord a fforme and one bedstyd. Item I give & bequethe to my dauter Fraunces ij blacke heffer of ij yeres olde a coffer a payer of shetes dyshes. Item I give unto Margarete my dowther one calffe a coffer a payre of sheets ij pewter dyshes all whiche goode bequethed to my iij chylderne. I wyll that my wyffe shall delyver them when she thyncketh moste convinent & mete by her dystresscon. All the rest of my goods unbequethed after my bodie brought to the earth & my funerall dyscharged & my detts payde I geue & bequethe them to Jone my Wyffe & I make my Wyffe my hole exegteyxe. I desyre my brother lone & my brother Richard Yeman to be my over seears, to se that this my last wyll be truly executed & pformed & thes beyng wyttnes above named.
