Joseph R. Gloss, 70, of Redding died Saturday at Mercy Hospital.
He was born Nov 2, 1901 in Urboue, Czechoslovakia and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II . A retired cook, he had lived in Shasta County for the past 18 years.
He leaves his wife, Lydia, of Redding; two sons, Robert of Bay City, Mich., and Milton of Redding; a stepson, Gary Martin of McCloud; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Lemay of Bay City, Mich.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McDonald's Redding
Chapel by the Rev. L. Hricziscse. Burial will take place at the Redding
Cemetery.

James L. Poe, 59, of Redding died Saturday at Mercy Hospital.
He was born Nov. 6, 1912 in Sheepranch and had lived in Shasta County for 12 years. He was retired after 30 years as a storekeeper for Calaveras Cement Co. and was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 78 F&AM of Calaveras.
He leaves his wife, Cora M. of Redding; a son; James E. of Sutter Creek; a sister, Mrs. Maxine Winsett of Santa Clara; and three grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gardella Mortuary in
San Andreas People's Cemetery. Local arrangements are being make
by McDonald's Redding Chapel.

The family of the late Charles Thomas Loftus of Redding has requested that any rememberances be made in the form of contributions to the Shasta-Trinity Heart Association in care of Bank of America, P.O. Box 993, Redding.
A Pioneer nurseryman, Loftus died Friday at his home after a long illness. He was 94.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McDonald's Redding
Chapel by the Rev. Patrick O'Connor. Burial will take place in Lawncrest
Memorial Park.

Yreka - Funeral services for Mrs. Joan Marie Heiser, 27, of Orleans and a former resident of Yreka, were to be conducted at 2 p.m. today in the Girdner Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Heiser died Thursday night in the Humbolt Medical Center in Eureka after a short illness.
Born at Limon, Colo., on Dec. 14, 1944, she had lived in California since infancy in Grass Valley, Fall River, Woodland and several years in Yreka. She had lived at Orleans for the past three years.
She leaves her husband, Larry D. or Orleans; two children, Lynn Lee Perkins and Clifford Lee Perkins both of Orleans; four stepchildren, Mrs. Patricia Peters, Mrs Debbie Naef, Douglas and Tammy Heiser, all of Orleans, her mother and stepfather, Mr. And Mrs. Beecher Songer of Orofino, Idaho, and her father, Oren Chandler of Genoa, Colo.
She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Martha Schwartz of Woodland; a brother, David songer of Orofino, Idaho, a stepsister, Mrs. Barbara Schroeder of Redding; two stepbrothers, Eugene Songer of Orofino, Idaho, and Billie Songer of Burney; and her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Elmira Chandler of Cenoa, Colo.
Pastor T. R. Waterhouse of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Yreka
was to officiate at the services today with burial to follow in the Evergreen
Cemetery.

Yreka - Ray Albert Buckner, 67, a Yreka resident for the past two years, died Sunday Morning in the Siskyou General Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Lark, Colo. On Dec. 5, 1904, he had spent 25 years in The Dalles, Ore., where he was employed by a school district. Prior to coming to Yreka, he had lived seven years at Clovis.
He leaves his wife, Bertha, and a son Lloyd, both of Yreka; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Savage and Mrs. Obie Eddy both of Grand Junction, Colo.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.n. Wednesday in the Dirdner Funeral
Chapel. The Rev. Jerrel Snyder of the Assembly of God Church in Yreka will
officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in Hesse's Funeral Chapel for Robert Manuel Messenger, 91, of Saratoga, who died Monday in the Odd Fellows Home in Saratoga.
Born in El Dorado, Mo. April 22, 1883, he was a retired postal employee of the U.S. Post Office in Redding, and was a member of the Shasta Rebekah Lodge No. 138 in Redding, and the Modern Woodsmen.
He leaves no known relatives.
Mildred Vollmers will officiate at the services with burial in the Redding Cemetery.
Members of the Odd Fellows Lodge will serve as casket bearers.

Funeral Services were to be conducted at 11 a.m. today in the McDonald's Redding Chapel for John Murray Blomberg, 67, of Oak Run, who died Saturday in the Shasta General Hospital.
Born in Rockford, Ill., April 17, 1907, he had been a resident of Shasta County for four years, and was the owner-operator of the Albany Washette in Albany for 11 years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 616 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
He leaves his wife Elizabeth of Oak Run; a son, John M. Jr. of Ventura; three brothers, Stanley of Fremont, Eugene of Hayward, and Milton; three sisters, Alberta Hoerr of El Cerrito, Lucille Fleming of Walton, N.Y., and Dorothy Randall of Westwood, N.J.
The Rev. Wayne Hennessey will officiate at the services with burial in the Redding Cemetery.
At the request of the family, memorial contributions may be made to
radio station KVIP in Redding or the Northern California Respiratory Disease
Fund, P.O. Box 667, Redding.

Mount Shasta - Private funeral services were to be conducted at 1:30 p.m. today in the Mt. Shasta Memorial Chapel for Irvin Rice White, 84, of Weed, who died Monday in the Mt. Shasta Eskaton Healthcare Center in Mount Shasta.
Born in Thayer, Kan., Feb. 10, 1890, he had been a 68-year resident of Weed, a life member of the Ashland, Ore., Elks Lodge and a life member of the American Legion in Weed. White was also a veteran of World War I.
White was a retired accountant for the international paper Co. in Weed having worked for the company 42 years before retiring.
He leaves his wife Bertha of Weed and a brother, William of San Carlos.
The Rev. Ronald Smith was to officiate at the services and burial was
to take place in the Mt. Shasta Memorial Park. The Upton's Weed-Shastina
Mortuary was in charge of the services.

Susanville - Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thrusday in the Pine Grove Cemetery for Rose Arnott, 75, of Susanville, who died Tuesday in the Lassen Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born in Wisconsin Sept. 27, 1899, she had been a resident of Susanville for the past five years, and leaves three brothers and three sisters.
The Rev. Ernest Quaintance will officiate at the services. The McDonald's
Burney Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Funeral services were to be conducted at 10:30 a.m. today for Raymond Guy Seidner, 71, of Redding, who died Saturday in Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born in Ohio November 11, 1902, he had been a resident of Shasta County for three years, and was a member of the Shasta County Senior Citizens.
He leaves a son, Robert of Central Valley; a brother Clyde of Manteca and a granddaughter.
The Rev. E. Ward Willoughby will officiate at the services with burial
to take place in the Rural Cemetery in Stockton beside his wife Barbara
who died in 1969.
