Mrs. Minnie Grasser, 70, wife of Michael Grasser of Chicago, died at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Nicholas hospital following a lingering illness.

She had been visiting in Sheboygan at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Gustav Waldau, 1601 N. Ninth street, when she was stricken and removed to the hospital.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Rades, the deceased was born Nov. 1, 1876, in the town of Schleswig, Manitowoc county, attended school at Rockville, and was married on Feb. 20, 1898, to Michael Grasser at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic church, Kiel.

Following their marriage, the couple resided on a farm in the town of Eaton and at New Holstein until 1901 when they moved to Marinette, Wis., where they lived until 1942. For the past five years they had made their home with two children in Chicago.

Mrs. Grasser was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic church at Chicago, and was affiliated with the Christian Mothers' society at the parish.

Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Gustav {Erna} Waldan, Sheboygan, Mrs. Albert {Sylvia} Kearney, Cambridge, Mass., Mrs. Sigvald {Elmyra} Johnson, Chicago, and Mrs. Joseph {Leona} Pouliot, Waltham, Mass.; four sons, Raymond, Portsmouth, N.H., Cyrill, Chicago, Myron, Waltham, Mass., and Everist, Marinette; one sister, Mrs. Carl Koeser, Sheboygan Falls; a brother, William Rades, Kiel, and 17 grandchildren.

One son, First Lt. Sylvanus Grasser, was killed in action with an infantry unit on New Guinea in April, 1944.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Ballhorn Funeral chapels and at 9 a.m. at Holy Name church. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Philipp Dreis will officiate, and interment will be made on the family lot in Calvary cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the funeral chapels from Saturday afternoon until the time of the services.

Severin Gerhold, aged 69 years and a resident of Sheboygan for the past 32 years, passed away yesterday morning at 11 o'clock at his home, 1222 North Tenth street. The cause of death was dropsy, Mr. Gerhold having been ill for some time. He was born in Vienna, and came to this country and settled in Sheboygan 32 years ago. He is survived by his wife and six children. They are Mrs. Marie Mack, Fred Gerhold, Mrs. O'Hara of Chicago, Mrs. Monicke and Joseph of this city, and fifteen grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Thursday morning at 8 o'clock from the Holy Name church, the Rev. Father Thill officiating. Interment in Wildwood.

Ferdinand Grabowski, age 52 years, committed suicide shortly after 6 o'clock this morning by hanging himself in the barn at his home, 1424 George avenue.

The lifeless body was discovered by his son, Arthur, who went into the barn fifteen minutes after his father went there. The elderly man had taken his life by fastening a small cord over a stick of wood, resting on two of the rafters. Evidently the rope was fastened about his neck while he stood on a pile of wood, and then stepped off, the cord being drawn tightly about the neck and causing strangulation. None of the bones in his neck were broken. The police were notified and he was cut down shortly afterwards, the body still being warm.

Mr. Grabowsky had been in poor health for some time, and it is believed that in a fit of despondency he committed the rash act. The decedent was born in Strasburg, Germany and came to this country while quite young and for the past 26 years had been a resident of Sheboygan. He was married May 30th, 1885. Besides his wife he is survived by four children, Alfred, Olga, and Arthur residing in this city and Henry of Bluffton, Ind. The arrangements for the funeral will be announced later. The family have the sympathy of their many friends in this hour of their sad affliction. The father, who had been a sufferer for sometime, was not in his right mind, and therefore not accountable for the rash act. Death is always sad, but under circumstances such as chronicled here, it is a greater blow to those surviving.

Dacada - Funeral services for John Grahser, Sr., aged 79, who died suddenly Monday morning, were held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Nicholas church here with the Rev. Father Plale officiating. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were: Michael Gasper, N. N. Depies, Nic. Schecker, John Weber, Jerome Sinnen and J. P. Feider. Active pallbearers were: Peter Wetor, Arthur Mueller, Clarence Wetor, Sylvan Lanser, Elmer Wetor and Allie Leider.

Mr. Grahser is survived by his wife and eleven children: Nick of Chicago, Mrs. Ed. Jung, John, Jr., on the homestead, Joseph and Mrs. Nick Heinen, Dacada; Mrs. George Lanser. Mrs. Arthur Thomas of Lake Church, Mrs. Robert Leider of Fredonia, Miss Nettie Grahser, Mrs. Gustave Malling of Evanston, Ill., and Miss Victoria, at home; four sisters, Mrs. Gen. Zopf of Chicago, Mrs. Anna Butcher of Vashon, Wash.; Mrs. Elizabeth Delhey of Jackson, Mich., and Mrs. Mary Kiedinger of Birmingham, Alabama. Nineteen grandchildren also survive.

The remorseless enemy of mankind has again visited our community and take from our midst one of the old pioneer settlers of the town of Mitchell, a highly esteemed citizen and beloved friend and neighbor, in the person of Thomas Gill who quietly passed to his reward on Nov. 26, after an illness of over a year�s duration, in the 72nd year of his age.

Decedent was born in the town of Naven, Meath County, Ireland. He came to America in 1849 and lived at Elmira, New York, until 1854 when he came to Wisconsin and settled on the farm in the town of Mitchell where he continously lived up to September, 1901, when with his family he moved to the village of Cascade, where he died.

In 1863, he was married to Miss Anna Alcox. Of this union twelve {15 total} children were born, eleven of whom, together with his wife, survive him as follows: John {{note: son of his first marriage�Julia Mangan {1831-1859}, as well as two other children Margret {1856} and Joseph {1859}} and Martin of Iron Mountain, Michigan; James and Joseph on the old homestead in Mitchell, Christopher of Port Washington, William of Seattle, Washington; George, Leo and Miss Frances {later Naughton} at Cascade, Mrs. Anthony {Margaret} Reddington of Plymouth and Mrs. Daniel {Catherine/Kate} Heraty of Fond du Lac. All the children except William were in attendance at the funeral. Six of his sons acted as pallbearers.

Two brothers and four sisters also survive him. They are John, James, Miss Eliza and Mrs. John Mullen of Elmira, New York, Mrs. Flaherty of Albany, New York, and Mrs. Michael {Ann} Gaynor of the town of Mitchell.

Mr. Gill was a man of rare natural and acquired abilities, of good and sound judgement, progressive and industrious, of a kindly and retiring disposition, liberal in his views and charitable to an extreme. Such a character as makes friends and holds them. He was a devout member of his church and lived up strictly to her teachings. An eulogy by Father Burke was but a just tribute to his character. He was the noblest work of God, an honest man.

Requiem high mass was celebrated at Cascade church by Father Burke and interment was made in the adjoining cemetery. May his soul rest in peace.

John Gerber Sr., age 76 years and a respected resident of Sheboygan for the past 33 years, died at 12 o'clock last night at his home, 1433 Superior avenue, after an illness of one month. He was a member of the Sheboygan Aid Society and the Mattoon Aid Society. Previous to coming here he and his wife lived in Franklin for several years. He is survived by his wife and nine children, as follows: John, Edward, Anton, Joseph, Gustav, Benjamin, Mrs. William Burhop, Mrs. Chas. Hintz, all of this city and Richard of Chicago. Also two brothers, William of town Rhine and Adam of Schoolhill.

The funeral will be held from the home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Horstmeier officiating. Interment will be in the Lutheran cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Gerber, 87, well-known resident of this city for many years, passed away at 5:45 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the St. Nicholas hospital as a result of a paralytic stroke. She resided at 1123 North Twelfth street.

Mrs. Gerber, nee Heiman, was born in Germany on May 17, 1843, and came to America with her parents when she was eight years old. The family settled in New York City. Mrs. Gerber was united in marriage there to John Gerber, who preceded her in death. When she was twenty-one years old, Mrs. Gerber and her husband came to Sheboygan county, locating at Franklin. They lived there for some time and came to Sheboygan fifty-four years ago.

She is survived by seven children, two sons, John and Gustave Gerber, having preceded her in death. Two daughter, Mrs. William Burhop and Mrs. Charles Hintz, both of this city, and five sons, Ed, this city; Anton, Sheboygan Falls; Joseph, this city; Richard, Chicago, and Benjamin Gerber, at home, survive. Eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survice. Mrs. Gerber was the last member of the Heiman family. Five sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.

Mrs. Gerber was a member of Trinity Lutheran church. Her pleasant disposition and kindly interest in every one made her beloved by her relatives and a large circle of friends. Despite her advanced age she was very active and attended to her household duties with alacrity. She enjoyed reading and was well informed on various events which she read about in the daily newspapers. A retentive memory coupled with her knowledge of present day affairs as well as reminiscences of earlier days, made her an interesting conversationalist.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Wednesday at the Ballhorn Funeral Temple. Rev. C. P. Schulz of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate and interment will be in the family lot in Wildwood cemetery.

John Gerber, aged 52, died at 9:20 o'clock Sunday morning at his residence, 1538 North Twelfth street, after a lingering illness.

The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the home, Rev. Ide, pastor of the St. Andreas Lutheran church, officiating. Burial will be made in Wildwood cemetery.

Decedent was born July 11, 1864, in New York city. He had lived in Sheboygan for many years, being formerly employed at the Geele Hardware Co. store and recently in the shipping room of the Garton Toy Co.

The survivors are a wife, his mother, Mrs. Mary Gerber, one daughter, Mrs. William Lemkuil, five brothers, Edward, Anton, Joseph, and Benjamin, this city; Richard, of Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. William Burhop and Mrs. Charles Hintz, this city, and one grand son, Harold Lemkuil.

After an illness of three weeks, Edward A. Gerber, 83, 620 Zimbal avenue, passed away in Memorial hospital at 11:25 a. m. on Sunday.

Throughout his long life, Mr. Gerber was a resident of either the county or the city of Sheboygan. His birth occurred in Franklin on Dec. 15, 1865, and his parents were Mr. and Mrs. John Gerber. The district school in Town Herman was attended by Mr. Gerber, and his education was continued at the evening school in this city, when his parents moved to Sheboygan in 1876.

As a boy, Mr. Gerber started working for the Mattoon Manufacturing company, and later he was a forman in the factory. In 1894 he affiliated with the Sheboygan city fire department. After serving for 25 years, he retired in 1925, as captain of Engine Co. No. 3. For a period of nine years he was a salesman for the Enzo Jel Co., retiring from business activities in 1934.

The marriage of Mr. Gerber to Mary Preus of Calumet, Mich., took place in Sheboygan on August 27, 1890, and the two were privileged to observe their golden wedding anniversary in 1940. Mr. Gerber was a member of First Congregational church.

His wife, one sister, Mrs. Charles {Emma} Hintz, and three brothers, Anton Gerber, Sheboygan Falls, Richard Gerber, Chicago, Ill., and Benjamin Gerber, Sheboygan, are the survivors. Besides his parents, others in the family who are deceased are one sister, Mrs. William {Anna} Burhop, and three brothers, Gustave, John and Joseph Gerber.

The funeral will take place at 2 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon at Ballhorn's Funeral chapels, and the Rev. Wilford H. Evans, pastor of First Congregational church, will officiate. Burial will be in the family lot at Wildwood cemetery. The body may be viewed beginning Tuesday afternoon.

Anton Gerber, 26, of R. 2, Sheboygan Falls, died at 4:30 a.m. today at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for the past week.

In good health most of his life, he was hospitalized 10 days in 1961 with a heart condition.

A lifelong resident of Sheboygan County, he was born in the Town of Franklin on Sept. 23, 1867, the third child in the family of nine of the late John and Mary Gerber.

He lived in Sheboygan from 1873 until 1915 when he moved to the present home about one mile west of Sheboygan Falls on Highway 23.

Mr. Gerber was employed at the Mattoon Manufacturing Co., now Rway Furniture Co., as a foreman in the cabinet department, and later at the Sheboygan Falls Motor Corp., Wisconsin Power and Light Co., and the Jenkins Machine Co., also in Sheboygan Falls.

On Oct. 7, 1893, he married the former Emma Richter at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. The couple observed their golden anniversary in 1943. She died in 1945.

Mr. Gerber was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls.

Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Wilma Bailey of Rural Sheboygan Falls, with whom he resided; two sons, Harry of Sheboygan, Elmer of Sheboygan Falls; two grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Dean Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls.

The Rev. Edward W. Albertin, pastor of St. Paul's Church in Sheboygan Falls, will officiate and burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Sheboygan.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Friday.

Joseph Gerber, 76, who resided at the Anna M. Reiss home, passed away at St. Nicholas hospital at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, after a short illness.

Mr. Gerber formerly resided at 1315 Maryland avenue, and after the death of his wife on July 8, 1940, lived with his son, Joe, at 1614 St. Clair avenue, for a year. He then moved to the Anna M. Reiss home.

The deceased was forn on Sept. 30, 1869, in the town of Franklin, the son of Mary and John Gerber. The family moved to Sheboygan in 1876, and as a lad, Mr. Gerber attended the parochial schools in the city. The Rev. Martin Denninger officiated at the ceremony in which Miss Tillie Herzog became the bride of Mr. Gerber on Nov. 3, 1894, in the town of Mosel.

Up until the time of his retirement eight years ago, the deceased was employed at the Northern Furniture company as a cabinet maker, working there for 44 years. He was a member of the Sheboygan Mutal Benevolent association.

His wife and one daughter preceded him in death. The survivors include three sons, Joseph, Jr., Alfred and Clifford, of Sheboygan, four grandchildren, four brothers, Edward and Benjamin of Sheboygan, Richard of Chicago and Anton of Sheboygan Falls, and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Hinze and Mrs. William Burhop of Sheboygan.

Funeral services will be held in the Steffen Funeral chapels at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. The Rev. E. R. Krueger of St. John's Evangelical church will officiate. Burial will be made in the Lutheran cemetery. Relatives and friends may view the body from 7 o'clock this evening until the time of services.

Gustave Gerber, a cabinet maker, employed at the Northern Furniture company's plant, committed suicide at 4:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at his home, 1420 Huron avenue by drinking carbolic acid.

Mrs. Gerber who was in the garden at the time, was attracted to the house by moans, and going inside found her husband lying across the bed seemingly in terrible agony. The odor of carbolic acid gave her warning as to what had taken place, and physicians were immediately summoned, arriving shortly afterwards, but he was unconscious and died within a few minutes.

An investigation brought out the fact that Mr. Gerber had taken the carbolic acid out in the kitchen, throwing the empty vial in the wood-box and then walked into the bedroom throwing himself across the bed, in which position he was found by the wife. A little daughter, Edna, three years of age, who was with her mother at the time, cried bitterly realizing that something had befallen her father.

It seems that for some time Mr. Gerber had been despondent, but the family never anticipated that he contemplated suicide. He had worked in the morning and in the afternoon went out for a short time and then returned to the house. He did not seem any different than usual and so no alarm was occasioned.

Mrs. Gerber went out in the garden to work after performing her household duties and the first thought that something was wrong, came when she heard sounds in the form of moans from the house.

Mr. Gerber is survived by his wife and daughter Edna, a mother, Mrs. Maria Gerber, six brothers, John, Anton, Edward, Joseph and Benjamin of this city, Richard of Chicago, two sisters, Mrs. Charles Hintz and Mrs. William Burhop, both of this city.

The deceased was 34 years of age and the wife and sorrowing relatives have the sympathy of their many friends in these trying hours.

The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home and the six brothers will act as pall bearers. The Rev. Krueger will have charge of the services and interment will take place in the Lutheran cemetery.

An elderly bachelor who lived alone was found dead in the kitchen of his home today. He had apparently been dead for a week.

He was Benjamin Gerber, 78, of 1125 No. 12th St.

Gerber's mailman, Vernon Schimke of 820 N. 6th St., notified a neighbor of Gerber's that mail in the dead man's mail-box was not being removed. There was mail in the box dated Sept. 30.

The neighbor, Mrs. Hannah Kimmler of 1129 No. 12th St., notified police who gained entrance to the locked home by forcing a window.

Officers Eugene Spelshaus, Anton Tauschek and William Nitsch found Gerber's partially clothed body on the kitchen floor. Dr. Reed M. Simpson, called to the scene, declined to give the cause of death, pending further examination.

Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Saturday at Ballhorn's Funeral Chapels.

Last rites for Benjamin Gerber, 78, of 1125 N. 12th St., found dead in his home Friday, were held this afternoon at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels.

The Rev. Hans Tornow of Trinity Lutheran Church officiated, with burial in Lutheran Cemetery.

Mr. Gerber, a native of Sheboygan, was born June 16, 1883, a son of the late John and Mary Gerber. He was educated in Trinity Lutheran School and confirmed in that church.

He was employed many years by Kohler Co., prior to retirement in 1934.

In the early 1900's he played amateur baseball on city teams and was a member of the Old Timers Baseball Club.

Mr. Gerber, a bachelor, is survived by a brother, Anton, Sheboygan Falls, and 10 nieces and nephews. Two sisters and five brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services for Oscar N. Grant, 74, of 2607 N. 6th St., who died Saturday morning at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital following a short illness, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels.

Officiating will be the Rev. Elmer Larson, pastor of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church. Friends may call at the chapels from 7 to 9 tonight and until the time of Service Tuesday.

Mr. Grant was born in Gunnarskog, Sweden, Dec. 28, 1897, son of the late Lars and Beda Grant, and attended schools in Sweden.

On Aug. 4, 1928, he married Maria Lindquist in Sweden, and they came to Sheboygan.

Mr. Grant was employed at various industries in Sheboygan, most recently at Gilson Bros., Plymouth, retiring in 1971.

He was a member of Luther Church.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Gene {Ellinor} Burlingham of Palmyra, and Mrs. John {Astrid} Elliott, San Francisco; four grandchildren; and a brother, Richard, of Whitelaw.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Craig Alan Gatzke, 14, son of Mr. and Mrs. Galan Gatzke, of 219 N. Lawson St., Waldo, died early Sunday at Central Colony, Madison.

He was born Feb. 11, 1960, in Plymouth.

Surviving are his parents; two sisters, Colleen Ann, a student at UW-La Crosse, and Cynthia Ann at home; a brother, Lawrence at home; the paternal grandparents, Leo Gatzke of Sheboygan Falls and Mrs. Adeline Kienow of Fond du Lac, and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Waleska Hoffmann of Sheboygan.

Private services for the immediate family will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wittkopp Funeral Home, Plymouth, the Rev. Edward Albertin, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, officiating. Cremation will follow.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial fund has been established in Craig's name for the National Association for Autistic Children.

Elmer Grupe, 76, of 1715 Norma Ct., died at his home Saturday afternoon, after a few months illness.

Born in the Town of Centerville, June 29, 1898, he was a son of the late Christ and Anna Grupe.

On Oct. 11, 1925, he married Dorothea Richter in Saginaw, Mich., at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

The couple came to Sheboygan to make their home in 1934.

He was service manager at the Firestone Store for 25 years, retiring in 1960 and later worked for the H. C. Prange Co., retiring in 1969.

Mr. Grupe was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, its senior citizens group and American Luther Associations.

Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Edward {Elaine} Bunke of Sheboygan; two grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Adelia Begalke of Sheboygan.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Rev. Herbert Stelter, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Nickel's Funeral Home after 4 p.m. today and at the church from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service.

A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Grupe's name for Immanuel Church building fund, and the church's general treasury.

Mrs. Lillian Gilson, 85, of Casco, a native of Sheboygan, died Tuesday morning at a Green Bay Hospital after a lingering illness.

The former Lillian Felten, she was born July 12, 1896, in Sheboygan, a daughter of William and Emma Fadum Felten. She attended Sheboygan schools.

In August 1920 she was married to Eli Gilson in Sheboygan. Her husband preceded her in death.

Survivors are a son, Gerald of Manitowoc; three daughters, Mrs. Ernest {Violet} Hannann of Casco, Mrs. David {Ethel} Martin of California, and Mrs. Ed {Edith} Sellissen of Green Bay; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two brothers, William W. Felten Sheboygan and Paul Felten of De Pere; two sisters, Mrs. Paul Euvrard of Michigan and Emmie Felten of Green Bay.

Two sons, Howard and Richard, and three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Wiesner and Massart Funeral Home, Casco. Pastor Julius Alberts of the Bible Truth Church, Lincoln of rural Kewaunee County, will officiate. Burial will be in church cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. today and until the time of services on Thursday. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Annette D. George passed away Friday April 2, 2004 at her home.

Annette was born Dec. 8, 1914 in Random Lake, the third of nine children born to Alvin and Josephine {Hamm} Liebenstein. Her family moved to Wood County when she was an infant, and she graduated from the Wisconsin Rapids high school. Annette was married to Donald W. George in Pittsville May 27, 1936, and he preceded her in death in 1996. Annette and Donald were dairy farmers.

Surviving are five children, fifteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Donald; four brothers; two sisters and two grandchildren.

A memorial service was held at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Baraboo, on April 10th. Rago Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.

Glenn C. Gartman, 53, of 420 N. 10th St., Oostburg, died on Tuesday, March 30, 1993, shortly after being admitted to St. Nicholas Hospital.

Mr. Gartman was born on Jan. 8, 1940 in Ozaukee County, the son of Hazel Veldboom Gartman and the late Wilbert Gartman. He graduated from Oostburg High School in 1958. He was a plumber for many years, presently employed at Ten Pas Plumbing and Heating in Sheboygan.

He married Vel Rae R. on September 1, 1961 in Oostburg.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Oostburg.

Survivors include his wife, Vel Rae; one daughter, Hollie O., Sheboygan; two sons, Brent, Kohler; Troy, Oostburg; one granddaughter, Carissa; his mother, Hazel and stepfather, Oostburg; two brothers, C. Gartman, Oostburg and R. Gartman, Oostburg. He was preceded in death by his father.

Private funeral services will be held on Friday, April 2, 1993, at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. James De Camp, pastor, officiating. Burial will be made in the Oostburg Cemetery.

A memorial fund will be established in his name.

Mrs. Rose Grupe, 68, 1233 S. 24th St. died Monday night at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital.

Born in Sheboygan on June 1, 1892, the daughter of Fred and Christine {Jahnke} Duchow, she attended Immanuel Lutheran School and was confirmed with the class of 1906.

She was married to Paul Grupe Oct. 9, 1915, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, and the couple always made their home here.

Survivors are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Jerome {Janet} Hess of Sheboygan and Mrs. Merton {Evelyn} Wilhelm of Sheboygan Falls; five grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Duchow of Sheboygan and William of West Allis; and one sister, Mrs. Fred Beiersdorf of Sheboygan.

She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Ramm Funeral Home with the Rev. F. Schmidtke, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Jerry A. Gall, 55 of Sheboygan, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 1999 at St. Nicholas Hospital after a battle with Amyloidosis, a rare disease.

He was born Nov. 21, 1943 in Sheboygan, a son of the late Martin and Molly Holzward Gall.

Jerry attended Mapledale School and was a 1962 graduate of South High. He served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1965.

Shirley Reseburg and Jerry Gall were married on Aug. 19, 1967. Jerry was a bartender at Nino's for many years. In 1977, Jerry and Shirley owned and operated the Tipo Bar and recently he was employed with Bakkers Kangaroo Messenger Service, until his illness forced retirement in February of this year. jerry was a past governor of the Moose Family Center, Sheboygan Lodge 438 and was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer.

Surviving him are his wife, Shirley; two brothers; and two sisters. His is further survived by an uncle, an aunt, two sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a sister and his mother and father-in-law.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 5, 1999 at the Lutheran Church of OUr Redeemer at 11 a.m. with theRev. Daniel Cecil, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, town of Sheboygan.

Friends may call at the Habermann-Zimmer Funeral Home, 805 N. Sixth Street, Sheboygan, on Friday, from 4 until 9 p.m. where a Moose Family Center memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church, on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

June E. Gulig, age 89, died Friday, June 4, 1999, at Franciscan Care Center, Appleton, where she had been a resident for the past 12 years.

She was born in the Town of Algoma on June 2, 1910, the daughter of the late Clarence and Jessie {Bradley} Melcher. On June 7, 1932, she married John Gulig at St. Mary Catholic Church in Omro and he preceded her in death on March 30, 1987.

June had been a member of the Idle Hour Club and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Town of Algoma Volunteer Fire Department.

June is survived by her four children, 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, a brother and a sister-in-law.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter and a brother.

The funeral liturgy will be held on Monday, June 7, 1999 at 11 a.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2331 E. Lourdes Drive, Appleton, with June's son, Monsignor Robert F. Gulig, as celebrant and concelebrated by her nephew, Father Gregory Smith, and Father Harold Berryman. Interment will be in Omro Junction Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. and directly at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass. A parish prayer and scripture service will be held on Sunday at 8 p.m.

Millicent Geisthardt, 84, of Sheboygan Falls, died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, June 7, 1999.

She was born December 11, 1914 in the Town of Dovre, Barron County, the daughter of the late Lee and Cynthia {Slining} Nelson. She graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1932 and graduated from Rusk County Normal Teachers College. Mil taught school in Oakfield until her marriage toElton G. Geisthardt in Oakfield, Wis. on November 4, 1942. He preceded her in death on September 20, 1995. They moved to Sheboygan Falls in 1947 where Mil and her husband owned and operated Depke Shoe Store from 1966-1983. She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls and taught Sunday School and after school classes for many years. She was a former member of Sheboygan Organ Club and Ladies Auxiliary of American Legon. Mil also was active in the community, serving on the City Council and Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include two sons, one daughter, two grandchildren, and two sisters. She is further survivied by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 1999 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Donald Hasse, pastor, officiating.

Friends may call at the church on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services.

Emily A. Gilpatrick, 88, died on Monday, June 7, 1999.

She was born on Feb. 25, 1911 in Hamborn, Germany to the late Frank and Aloysia Kubicek.

She was united in marriage to Jules Gilpatrick on Aug. 15, 1934.

Emily worked as a nursing assistant for Sheboygan Memorial Hospital and Madison General Hospital for many years.

She is survived by five sons, one daughter, 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two sisters, and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three sisters and two brothers.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 11, 1999 at 11 a.m. at Gunderson Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Drive with Chaplin Jordan Kuczwara presiding.

She had a special love for her children. Her children's friends became her friends. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and special neighbors.

Arthur A. Gosse, 77, Route 1, Cleveland, Town of Meeme, Sheboygan Co., died unexpectedly at his home Thursday after suffering an apparent heart attack.

He was born July 21, 1902, in Two Rivers, son of Richard and Elizabeth Gosse. On April 29, 1933, he married Ida Rosenbauer. The couple operated a farm in Town of Schleswig until 1937, when they moved to the Town of Meeme.

He was employed as a mason and also worked for Passine Cheese Co., Plymouth, and Millersville Box Co.

Mrs. Gosse died in 1969.

He was a member of St. James United Church of Christ, Town of Meeme.

Survivors are daughter, Mrs. Manuel {Ellen Mae} Sanchez of rural Oostburg; two sons, Wayne of Plymouth and Monroe of North Fort Meyers, Florida; two brothers, Gilbert of Sheboygan and James of West Bend; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Schoerer and Mrs. Fred Schauer, both of Sheboygan; 12 grand children. A daughter preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held a 1 pm, Saturday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel. The Rev. Charles Barnes, pastor, of St. James UCC, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Helmuth F. Gosse, 69, of 333 Prospect Avenue, Sheboygan Falls, died this morning at St. Nicholas Hospital, following a short illness.

He was born January 26, 1911, in Calument County, a son of the late Theodore and Anna {Lange} Gosse. He worked for Kohler Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1976. On September 24, 1938, he married Mabel Brockman in Dubuque, Iowa.

He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Town of Sheboygan Falls, Sheboygan Co. Wisconsin, where he served as former church councilman and was also a member of the Kohler Quarter Century Club.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. William {Janet} Nohl of Sheboygan; one son, Rober of Downey, California; one grandson; one sister, Mrs. Hannah Hanson of Sheboygan; and two brothers, Arno of Manitowoc and Walter of Kiel. He was preceded in death by one sister.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church. The Rev. Roger Tellock, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.

Herman Gosse, aged 77 years, died of apoplexy Thursday at his home in Elkhart Lake. The funeral will be held at 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Reformed Church, Rev. Mr. Vriesen officiating. Burial will be made in the town of Herman cemetery, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin.

Decedent was born in Germany, July 5, 1838, and lived there until he was 10 years old, coming to this country in 1848 and for the next 41 years making his home in the town of Herman near the Mission House. He married Miss August Ziemann in 1863, and the couple lived on a farm until five years ago, when they moved to Elkhart Lake.

Besides his wife, Mr. Gosse is survived by eleven children, including seven daughters and four sons as follows: Mrs. Mary Sieker, Franklin; Mrs. Louis Franz, Mosel; Mrs. Meta Boedeke, Greenwood; Mrs. Clara Franzmeier, Newton; Mrs. Martha Wilke, Lyndon; Mrs. Tina Richter, Rhine; Herman, Elkhart Lake; Ferdinand of the Mission House; Theodore, Rhine; Martin, town of Plymouth. There is one sister living, who makes her home in Iowa. Forty grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive him.

Six son-in-law will act as pall bearers at the funeral.

Funeral services for Arthur R. Gosse, 79, Route 1, Sheboygan Falls, who died Friday evening, April 14, at Rocky Knoll health care facility, following a lengthy illness, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, at the Walter H. Ahrens Funeral Home, Howards Grove, with the Rev. Rudolph Sandman, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church, Haven, officiating. Burial was in the Sierner Union Cemetery, town of Herman.

A life-long resident of Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, he was born February 9, 1899 in the town of Mosel, a son of the late Joseph and Josephine {Arndt} Gosse. On June 26, 1926 he married Esther Wehrmann. The couple lived in the town of Herman and later moved to Howards Grove. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1976.

Mr. Gosse was formerly employed at August Ehnert and sons and for 24 years worked at the Vollrath Co. until his retirement in 1964.

Survivors include his wife, one son, Marvin, Howards Grove; two daughters, Mrs. Harvey {Doris} Maechtle, Port Washington, and Mrs. Kenneth {Caroline} Greger, Sheboygan; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and two sisters, Mrs. Olga Steffen, Kiel, and Mrs. Elsie Hake, Sheboygan. One sister and a brother preceded him in death.

Mrs. Margaret Gosse, 86 years old, passed away at 8:30 pm Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Kummer, who resides on the Union road one-half mile north of the village of Kohler. She suffered a stroke last January amd gradually failed since that time.

She was born December 29, 1846, in Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Thomas. When she was one year old, her parents came to this country and settled on a farm in the Town Mosel where she lived practically all her life. On June 3, 1865, she was united in marriage to Henry Gosse who preceded her in death about 45 years ago. After having lived with her daughter, Mrs. Peter Moersch, in Milwaukee for a period of ten years she returned to Sheboygan on June 28th, this year.

She is survived by four sons, August and Herman of this city, Fred of Cleveland and William of Colby, Wisconsin and three daughters, Mrs. Peter Moersch of Milwaukee, Mrs. Robert Kummer of Kohler and Mrs. E.... Mueller of Sheboygan. One son and one daughter preceded her in death. Sixteen grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive.

In the house of son John Gosse, 2203 N 18th Street, on Monday afternoon at 3:00, William Gosse, long living inhabitant of Sheboygan County and veteran of the Civil War and member of GAR died. Was in Zenkow {Zernikow?}, Neumark, Deutschland born on May 1, 1836. When he was 11 years old he came to America with his family. They came directly to Town Mosel, this county; was an early settler in this country. Lived there until 6 years ago, last 3 years lived with son. Served in Company B bes 6 Wisconsin Volunteer Regiment. On January 9, 1855 he married Katherina Junker and had 13 children, 10 are alive, Mrs. Julius Schroer, Gladstone, Minnesota; Herman, Joseph and Gottleib of Town Mosel; Mrs. Nic Voss, Town Herman; Mrs. Louis Stueber, Marshfield, Wisconsin; Mrs. August Gosse, Mrs. John Mueller, John and Richard of Sheboygan. Burial in Wildwood Cemetery.

Nora M. {Dunn} Gilipsky, 84, 2715 Henry Street, Sheboygan, died Jan. 21, 2005 at her winter home in Sun City Center, Fla.

She was born Nov. 24, 1920 in rural Cedar Grove, daughter of the late Michael and Mathilda Dunn. In 1951 she married Peter W. Gilipsky in Sheboygan.

Nora was proud of her Irish heritage and always had a twinkle in her eye and laughter on her lips. She loved her children and spoiled her grandchildren. She was there to help her sisters, brothers, children and grandchildren in a moment's notice. She was the command center during the many unforgettable years of family vacations at Door County's Sand Bay Cottages. These were more than vacations, they were expeditions that included not just her children, but cousins, friends and even a few strangers. The small cottage at Sand Bay would burst with children and laughter, with Nora always at its center. She loved the company of family, and her family loved her. Added to the historic trips to Sand Bay were many other family vacations that included tours around Lake Superior, camping trips to Devil's Lake and Long Lake, several trips to California, Annapolis, Maryland, a vacation to Hawaii and many warm winters in Sun City Center, Fla. Nora loved life and was always in motion doing good deeds for others. She was filled with sweetness and love. And it showed in how she cared for people, laughed with life, fed family and friends and, of course, the mouth-watering, gold medal poppy seed tort she baked for family gatherings.

It was the Lord's wings that carried Nora to heaven, but it was also on the Lord's wings that she lived her life. At the center of it all was her devotion to God and church. After all those she loved were put to sleep, and the day's work was done, she would kneel beside her bed in silent prayer and thank the Lord for the many blessings of her life and pray for her family.

To all who knew her, and loved her, she will be missed. But her love light will shine in each and every person she touched. In that steady constant way she had about her, she made us all better people. Better because of her love.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27 at Immaculate Conception Church, 2715 Henry St., Sheboygan, followed by burial at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.

The three months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Grasse, 1604 Maryland avenue, died at 5:30 Thursday morning after a brief illness. The funeral was held at 2 o'clock this afternoon. Rev. Wambsganss officiated.

Fred E. Grasse, 63, 2333 S. Seventeenth street, passed away at 1:05 a.m. today at St. Nicholas hospital.

He was born in the town of Wilson, March 23, 1875, and attended Trinity Lutheran school, where he was confirmed. He came to Sheboygan when he was 14 and was employed at the Ernst H. Heermann Ice company for a number of years. For 22 years he was employed at the Konrad Schreier company and for the past 13 years he was watchman at the city incinerator plant.

On Sept. 15, 1906, he was united in marriage with Miss Louise Koch of this city. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, and two sons, Fred, Jr., William and Louise, all of this city; two granddaughters; one sister, Mrs. Carl Bradow, of Chicago; two brothers, Charles and Gottlieb, of this city. One son {Edward} died in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Ramm Funeral home, with the Rev. H.H. Wegner officiating. Burial will be made in the Wildwood cemetery. Friends may view the body from this evening until the time of services.

Mrs. Louise Grasse, 84, a resident of the Anna M. Reiss Home for the past 13 years, died there Saturday aternoon.

She was born in Sheboygan March 30, 1884, daughter of the late Andrew and Amalia Koch and attended Bethlehem Lutheran School.

She was married Sept. 15, 1906, to Fred Grasse. He died March 31, 1938.

Survivors are two sons, Fred Jr. and William, both of Sheboygan; one daughter, Mrs. Louise Swoboda, Sheboygan; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Rose Kathke, Sheboygan.

Preceding her in death were her husband, one brother, five sisters and a son {Edward}.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at the Ramm Funeral Home, the Rev. Herbert W. Stelter, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.

Edward W. "Woggles" Goehringer, for more than 20 years a compositor at The Hammond Times, died late yesterday afternoon in St. Margaret's hospital after a long illness. He was 46 years old and resided at 538 Sibley street.

Although in failing health for more than a year, Goehringer was active in many German organizations and participated in athletic events. He was stricken ill suddenly five days ago and removed to the hospital.

Surviving are his widow, Anna; two daughters, Gretchen and Lenore; his mother, Mrs. Wilhelmina Goehringer; and three brothers, Louis, Theodore and Henry.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Neidow's chapel and at 2 o'clock in St. Paul Lutheran church. The Rev. Walter Lichtsinn will officiate and burial will be in Concordia cemetery.

Goehringer worked his way up from an office boy to an ad compositor. He started out as an office boy with the old Hammond Elevator company and later was employed by The Times as a printer. After serving as makeup man, he became an "ad" compositor. He spent all but five of his working years in the printing trade, having served with this newspaper for more than 20 years.

The deceased was born on Jan. 15, 1892 at Sheboygan, Wis. He resided in Hammond for 34 years. An active member of many German lodges, Goehringer was considered one of the best bowlers in the region.

The body will be at the funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening.

Mrs. Minnie Gartman, widow of the late L. Fred Gartman, passed away at her home in the town of Wilson at 8:25 a.m. today, at the age of 83.

She was born May 31, 1857, a daughter of Fred and Caroline Gartman, and spent nearly all of her life in the town of Wilson. She attended parochial school in Sheboygan, and was confirmed at the old St. Peter Lutheran church in Sheboygan by the Rev. Edward Schlotheim.

On May 22, 1876, she was married to L. Fred Gartman, who passed away 16 years ago. Survivors are two sons, Arthur and Adolph, town of Wilson; two daughters, Mrs. Adolph {Ida} Hessler, town of Wilson, and Mrs. Albert {Minnie} Dyke, town of Lima; a brother, William, and a sister, Mrs. August {Anna} Zimmermann, of Sheboygan, and four grandchildren.

She was a member of Evangelical Trinity Lutheran church of the town of Wilson, and of the Ladies' Aid society of the church.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Adolph Gartman farm homestead, and at 2 o'clock at Evangelical Trinity Lutheran church of the town of Wilson. The Rev. Julius A. Wagner will officiate, and burial will be made at Flader's cemetery. Friends may view the body at the Adolph Gartman home from Friday morning until the time of services.

Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Gartman, 83, resident of the town of Wilson, who passed away last Wednesday at her farm home, were held Saturday at 1:30 o'clock at the home, and at 2 o'clock at the Evangelical Trinity Lutheran church in town Wilson.

During the services Mrs. Esther Gosse sang "Wo findet die Seele die Heimat die Ruh."

Pallbearers were Ed. Meerdink, Albert Miller, Herman Thimmig, Edwin Mueller, George Meyer and John J. Brill.

Among those from away who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Paasch of Baggett, Mich., and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Voight of Sawyer.

The Rev. Julius A. Wagner officiated and burial was made in Flader's cemetery, town Wilson. The Ladies' Aid attended the services in a body and a beautiful grouping of flowers surrounded the casket during the services at the church.

Charles Gartman, Sr., 62, a former resident of Sheboygan, passed away Sunday after suffering a heart attack at his home, 1423 Rawson avenue, South Milwaukee.

Mr. Gartman was born May 8, 1889, in the town of Lima, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Gartman. He attended St. George's parochial school and the Sheboygan Business college.

Prior to his illness he was employed at the Ladish Drop Forge company in South Milwaukee.

Survivors include his wife; six sons, Charles, Jr., Robert, Melvin, Frank, Albert and Harold, all of South Milwaukee; four daughters, Mrs. Ed {Winifred} Wilanowski, Mrs. Michael {Mary Lou} Koroses, Lois and Louisa, all of South Milwaukee; nine grandchildren; five sisters, Sister M. Fidelia of Grand Rapids, Mich., Mrs. Frank Kotnik and Mrs. Clemens Acker of Sheboygan, Mrs. Patrick Sheehy of Manitowoc and Mrs. Harry Grasse of Milwaukee; and one brother, Frank Gartman of Waukesha.

His parents and one sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the Molten Funeral home, South Milwaukee, and at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic church, South Milwaukee. The Rev. Harry Spaeth will be celebrant of the requiem high mass.

Mrs. Lena Gartman, 66 {sic, 65}, widow of the late Fred Gartman, Route 1, Waldo, passed away this morning at 1 o'clock at St. Nicholas hospital. She was born in town of Wilson, April 30, 1871, and was married to Fred Gartman on November 12 {sic, 23}, 1895. The couple lived in the town of Wilson until twenty-two years ago when they took a farm near Hingham. Her husband preceded her in death thirteen years ago.

Survivors are one son and one daughter, Arno Gartman, and Mrs. Charles {{Ilma}} Klein, both of Waldo; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. August {{Bertha}} Klewe of Sheboygan, and Mrs. Detlaff {{Regina}} Math {sic, Nath} of Route 2, Sheboygan; one brother, Alfred Fritsch of the town of Wilson.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Ramm funeral home, and burial will be made in Fladers cemetery, town of Wilson. Rev. C.P. Schulz, pastor of Trinity Lutheran church of Sheboygan, will have charge of the services.

The body may be viewed at the Ramm funeral home from Saturday afternoon until the time of the services.

Mrs. Lena Gartman, widow of Fred Gartman, who passed away Friday morning, were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Ramm Funeral Home. The Rev. Karl Schulz of Trinity Lutheran church officiated and burial was made in Fladers' Rest cemetery in the town of Wilson.

At the services, Mrs. Martin Luehrs and Mrs. J.A. Koss sang two selections, "Just As I Am" and "Rock of Ages.'

Pallbearers were: Adolf Stokdyk, John LeMahieu, Charles Rakow, Ted Hopemann, Cassius Pierce and Ben Stokdyk.

Victoria Gibson, 83, S. 6th St., Delavan, died Monday, Feb. 24, 1997 at her home. Monroe Funeral Home, Delavan, is handling arrangements.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gartman, Well Known Town of Wilson Residents, Lose Only Child Through Tragic Accident - Girl's Dress Caught in Engine and Child Thrown Forcible to Floor.

Her dress caught in an engine which drives the water pump on the Arthur Gartman farm in the town of Wilson. Erna Gartman, aged 7, was hurled so forcibly to the floor that she sustained injuries which proved fatal at 9:10 p.m.

The child was in the pump house with her mother at about 5:30 p.m. when her garment became tangled in the giant fly wheel of the machine, jerking her off her feet and throwing her to the floor. August Reyer, an uncle of the girl, who was nearby summoned a physician from Sheboygan. The physician pronounced death due to a fracture of the skull.

The tragic death was a severe blow to Mr. and Mrs. Gartman, who are especially unfortunate in view of the fact that the accident took from them their only child. They are prominent town of Wilson farmers, and the sympathy of the entire community is being extended to them at this time.

The deceased was born May 12, 1921, in the town of Wilson. She was very active and cheerful and was well liked by her many friends and playmates. She attended the Wilson district school No. 4 where she had passed into the second grade.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock, Saturday afternoon from the home and at 2:15 from the Town Wilson Trinity Lutheran church. The Rev. Edmund Meier will officiate, and burial will be made in Flader's Hill cemetery in town Wilson.

Funeral services for Oran Gahagan, son of Mrs. Mamie Gahagan of the town of Russell, who drowned in Elkhart Lake last Friday evening, were conducted at 9 a.m. Monday at the Gentine Funeral Home in Plymouth and at 9:30 a.m. at the St. George Catholic church at Elkhart Lake, with the Rev. A.J. Reinl officiating.

Interment was made in the church cemetery in the town of Rhine, and pallbearers were Ed. Doherty of Cascade, Francis Fitzpatrick of Cascade, Donald Mangan of Kiel, Francis McMullen, Leonard Moersch and Arno Platz of Elkhart Lake.

Attending the rites were a large number of relatives and friends from Milwaukee, Sheboygan, Plymouth, Cascade, Kiel, St. Anna, town of Mitchell and Elkhart Lake.

Mrs. Katherine M. Glaeser, 82, formerly of 1021 Lincoln Ave., died this morning at Greendale Nursing Home, where she had resided for nine months.

The former Katherine Henke was born July 9, 1902, in Kiel, daughter of Robert and Mary Dickrell Henke.

She attended schools in Kiel.

On Nov. 29, 1933, she and Paul Glaeser were married at Holy Name Catholic Church. Mr. Glaeser died March 3, 1985.

Mrs. Glaeser was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dennis {Mary} Bersch of Milwaukee, and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

The funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Holy Name Church. The Rev. James Hess, pastor, will be celebrant of the Mass, which will follow family rites at 9:30 a.m. at Kroos-Mason Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Death entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Greve of Sheboygan last week and claimed Virginia, their seven-year-old daughter, who was a victim of diphtheria. The funeral took place at St. Anna, Saturday.

She leaves her parents and two brothers. The Greve family formerly lived on a farm west of Kiel, now owned by Andrew Dhein; the parents have the sympathy of their many Kiel friends.

Mrs. Wilhelmina Gierke passed away at 7:45 a. m. Saturday at her home in Town Sheboygan Falls. Mrs. Gierke had been an invalid for the past 3 years. Deceased was born in Germany, Nov. 11, 1850, and her marriage to Carl Gierke took place in Sheboygan August 2, 1872. The couple made their permanent home in the town of Sheboygan Falls. Mr. Gierke preceded his wife in death in February eight years ago. Survivors are: the following children, Mrs. William Eickhoff of Kiel, William Gierke of St. Joe, Mo., Carl at home, Mrs. Fred Eick and Mrs. Emily Truttschel of town Mosel, Oscar of Town Herman, Erwin of St. Nazianz and Gustave of Sheboygan. There are also 16 grandchildren six great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. William Mirror of Sheboygan, and a brother, Carl Krebbin of Biedeko, Germany.

Fred Gessert, aged 74, well-known farmer who resided on Highway 57, north of Plymouth, died at 2:05 p.m. Tuesday at the Plymouth hospital following a short illness.

Mr. Gessert was born in the town of Rhine October 27, 1858, and was married to Miss Magdalene Sanders on November 20, 1881. He lived in Sheboygan county all his life.

Survivors are: a daughter, Mrs. William Radloff of Plymouth; a son, Edwin Gessert, on the homestead; six grandchildren; two brothers, Jacob of Plymouth and George, who lives on the Plymouth town line; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Fischer, Mrs. Arthur Feldman, and Mrs. Jacob Dessloch of Colby. His wife died ten years ago, a son, Walter, sixteen years ago, and a brother, William, in November of this year.

The funeral was held Friday afternoon at 1:30 o�clock at the Wittkopp Funeral Home and at 2 o�clock at the Plymouth Reformed church. The Rev. H. G. Schmid officiated and interment was made in the Woodlawn cemetery.

William A. Gordon, 31, died Wednesday at his home on 7th St after an illness of 12 days. he was born 3/13/1905 in Victoria, Illinois a son of the late Mr and Mrs John Gordon. He married Miss LIllian Rhines 8/17/1929, daughter of Mr and Mrs David Rhines. Burial in Kohler Cemetery.

Mrs. Barbette Grunewald, aged 66, wife of Julius Grunewald and life-long resident of Town Herman, passed away at her home there at 5:30 o'clock Friday evening, following a lingering illness.

Mrs. Grunewald, nee Barbette Winkel, was born Sept. 24, 1866 in Town Herman. Her marriage to Julius Grunewald took place August 15, 1886 and the couple made their home on different farms in the township during their married life. For the past 31 years they resided on the present Grunewald farm.

Mrs. Grunewald was a home-loving wife and mother, greatly devoted to her family. Having lived in Town Herman all her life, she was well-known in that vicinity. She enjoyed a large acquaintenance and many friends.

Besides her husband, she is survived by fifteen sons and daughters, Mrs. Ida Zimmermann, Elkhart Lake; Louis Grunewald, Howards Grove; Martin, Walter, and Carl Grunewald, Town Herman; Mrs. Elsie Illig, Town Mosel; Mrs. Eleanore Boeldt, Town Wilson; Norbert Grunewald, Howards Grove; Mrs. Lydia Finke, Edward, Harley, Oscar, Herbert and Arno Grunewald, all of Town Herman. Her death is also mourned by 33 grandchildren, four brothers, Gustave Winkel, Howards Grove; Herman Winkel, Town Meeme; Fred Winkel, Town Schleswig and Herman Winkel, Town Meeme and four sisters, Mrs. Nick Minster and Mrs. Louis Klueger, Sheboygan; Mrs. Fred Terrone, Town Herman and Mrs. Louis Marves, Badenville, Wis.

The remains have been taken to the Walter H. Ahrens Funeral Home at Howards Grove where private funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock followed by public services at 2 o'clock at Trinity Lutheran Church in Town Herman. The Rev. Walter Kitzerow will officiate and burial will be made in the church cemetery.

Wetzel Gougolic, of 1720 N. Twelfth street, died Friday eevening, Apr. 8, 1904, at St. Nicholas hospital, of dropsy, aged sixty years. A widow and five children survive.

John M. Galaway, an old resident of Sheboygan, died Saturday morning, Sept. 5, at his home, 514 Washington court, after an illness of only a day or two, aged sixty-seven.

Mrs. Mabel Joanna Gannon, 89, formerly of Elkhart Lake, Wis., passed away at Valley Manor Nursing Home early Wednesday morning, August 7, 1991. She had been a resident there for the past five years. She was born October 11, 1901, in the Town of Greenbush, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Rach Roltgen. She attended Plymouth schools, graduating in 1919. She was a schoolteacher in Sheboygan county for a number of years. On October 12, 1926, she married Bernard Gannon at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Armstrong. Mr. Gannon preceded her in death in 1944. She was employed by the Glenbeulah Sate Bank and the Kohler Company, retiring in 1964. She was a member of St. Fridolin Catholic Church, in Glenbeulah, as well as the Christian Mothers of the church. She was also a member of the Elkhart Lake Senior Citizens. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Jean {Eugene} Holzmann, of Madison; Mrs. Mary {Richard} Butler, of Menasha; Mrs. Phyllis {Oscar} Bardon, of Elkhart Lake; Mrs. Bernadine {Donald} Ditter of Glenbeulah; Mrs. Kathleen {Ralph} Tredway, of Clarkston, Mich.; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers, John {Ruth} Roltgen, of Plymouth; Jerome {Alice} Roltgen, of Glenbeulah; Martin {Hazel} Roltgen, also of Plymouth; three sisters, Catherine Schockmel, of Plymouth; Hilda Murphy, of Sheboygan Falls and Mrs. Ann {Norbert} Walters, of Plymouth. She was preceded in death by one infant son in 1928 and by one brother, Joseph, as well as one sister, Mary Roltgen. Funerals services will be held on Friday, August 9, at 10 a.m., at St. Fridolin Catholic Church, in Glenbeulah, preceded by family rites at the Wittkopp Funeral Home at 9 :30 a.m. Rev. James B. Cera, pastor, will celebrate the funeral mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Wittkopp Funeral Home, in Plymouth on Thursday, from 4-8 p.m. A parish vigil will take place at 7:30 p.m. that evening. A memorial fund will be established in the name of Mabel J. Gannon.

A terrific explosion proved fatal to Bernard Gannon, 44, Glenbeulah, and injured five others, several seriously, at Plymouth this morning. The accident occurred at the Plymouth engineering division of Cleveland Container company when an air compressor tank exploded. Flying metal caused a skull fracture, gaping wound, and brain injury for Mr. Gannon, and he died at 9 a.m. at Plymouth hospital. The time of the accident was set at 7:22 a.m. the hour at which a clock stopped in the room in which the accident occurred.

The injured are: Anton Kreidler, 61, of Marschner street, Plymouth, who lost part of the fourth and fifth fingers on his left hand and was badly cut; Alex Brost, 44, Route 1 Plymouth, who has a badly cut forearm and other injuries; Jacob Franzen, Walter Gosse and Alvin Frantz, Jr., the latter three sustaining minor cuts and bruises.

The air compressor tank, six feet by two, exploded at the south end of the building and flew to the north end of the building where it tore a hole in the wall about ten feet by ten. Enroute it ripped a heavy machine out of its concrete foundation and moved it about eight feet. The explosion blew out all fo the windows and window frames on the firstt floor, many of the windows on the second floor, and some on the third floor. The blast was heard by residents of Plymouth who were more than half a mile away at the time.

Fate undoubtedly saved the lives of three people who normally are working near the tank that exploded. One girl who works at the machine that was hit by the flying tank, did not report for work today. Two male employes escaped injury because one had just gone to the washroom and the other to the stockroom. Another employe was thrown 14 feet, clear through one of the windows, according to Cororner Wesley VanZanten, who investigate the accident. Coroner VanZanten believes that failure of a safety valve on the tank to function properly may have caused the accident. However, he said that S.F. Wetzel, in charge of the plant, informed him that state safety men had examined the valve just recently and that it was working properly at that time.

The death of Mr. Gannon was due to a skull fracture and brain injury, the coroner said. Despite the large would to his head, Mr. Gannon was still able to talk to the attending physician, Coroner VanZanten said. Bernard was highly esteemed among the officers and employes of the Cleveland Container Company, and the news of his tragic death will cause not a little grief. The sorrowing widow and children have the sympathy of the entire community in this hour of their bereavement. Few men were better known, because of his early life on the farm in the town of Greenbush, his years on the Sheboygan County Highway department and lastly with the Plymouth concern.

The five injured were removed to Plymouth hospital at the time MR. Gannon was taken there, but Mr. Franzen, Mr. Gosse and Mr. Frantz were discharged from the hospital after examination and treatment for minor injuries. There are 30 employes at the plant. Work will be resumed on Monday or Tuesday.

Mr. Gannon was a resident of Glenbeulah. He was born on Feb. 14, 1899, in Town Greenbush, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Gannon. On Oct. 12, 1926, he was united in marriage with Miss Mabel Roltgen at Armstrong, Wis. After their marriage the couple made their home on a farm in Town Greenbush. In 1931 Mr. Gannon entered the employ of the Sheboygan County Highway department. he worked for the county for ten years and in 1941 entered the employ of the Plymouth Engineering division of the Cleveland Container Corporation. He is survived by his wife and five daughters, Jean, the oldest, Mary, Phyllis, Bernardine and Kathleen. His father, Phillip Gannon, of Town Greenbush also survives with five brothers and one sister. They are Pharmacist�s mate 2/c Thomas Gannon of the navy; S/Sgt. Eugene Gannon of the army, both on duty in the Southwest Pacific area; Mach. Mate 2/c Frank Gannon of the navy, Alton and Edward Gannon of Town Greenbush, and Mrs. Ray Loof of Saukville.

The deceased was member of the Holy Name society of St. Fridolin�s Catholic church in Glenbeulah. He also served as secretary of that church and as member of the village board. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 9 o�clock at the home in Glenbeulah and at 9:30 o�clock at the St. Fridolin�s Catholic church in Glenbeulah. The Rev. Henry Langenfeld will officiate and burial will be made in the St. Fridolin�s Catholic cemetery. Glenbeulah - Funeral services for Bernard Gannon, 44, who passed away at the Plymouth hospital on Saturday as the result of injuries he received in an explosion at the Plymouth Engineering Division of the Cleveland Container Co., were held Wednesday morning at 9 o�clock from the residence and at 9:30 o�clock from the St. Fridolin�s Catholic church in this village. Mrs. Catherine Graham, 88, widow of Byron Graham, died at 3:30 a.m. Sunday at her home in Eden. Daughter of Bartholomew and Jane Fierstein Roltgen, she was born Oct. 11, 1854 in the Town of Eden NY and came to Wisconsin with her parents when eleven, settling in the Town of Forest and later moving to the Town of Greenbush. She was married on April 14, 1877 in Our Lady of Angels Church in Armstrong. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. William Havey of this city, Mrs. James L. Havey of Rosendale and Miss Louise Graham at home; three grandchildren, Eldon, Kathryn and Mary Frances Havey; a great-grandchild, Mary Ann Havey; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Pfrang and Mrs. N. Lorge, Plymouth. The body is at the residence, where funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wed. and at 10 a.m. from St. Mary�s church in Eden, the Rev. Vincent Thomas officiating. Mrs. Frances Graff, a well known resident of Sheboygan county, died suddenly Sunday afternoon of apoplexy. She was 58 years of age and had lived in this county during practically her entire life, marrying and rearing her family in this county. Her death came as a shock to her many relatives and friends and is the third death in the family in the last twenty months. For some time past, Mrs. Graff had complained of being dizzy at times and although she tried many remedies, the relief was only temporary. It is stated that she suffered from headaches frequently, but yesterday morning, apparently in good health she went to St. Peter Claver church at 8 o�clock. At 2 o�clock in the afternoon she again started to attend Vesper services at the church and had gone to the Sister�s house at Twelfth street and Clara avenue on an errand. Upon entering the house, she complained to one of the Sisters that she was feeling faint, and the words were no sooner said, then she fell to the floor. A physician was called immediately but when he arrived life was extinct. He pronounced death due to a hemorrhage of the brain caused by the bursting of an artery. Her daughter, Miss Eva Graff, had retired to bed in good health on the night of February 22, 1916, but when called in the morning, she gave no response. After the family had investigated the silence, she was found dead in her chamber, caused, the physician stated, of heart disease. Joseph Graff, the husband and father, died as a result of an operation precisely one month later. Mrs. Graff resided with her family on the farm located on Union avenue, just a short distance from the city limits. She was born in Osceola, Fond du Lac County. Her maiden name was Frances Roltgen and at the age of 22, she married Joseph Graff. Six children were born to this union, of whom five are now living. They are Mrs. Michael Monabach of Chicago, John, of Osceola, Jerome, of Fond du Lac, Bart and Joseph, living at home. Her body was taken to the undertaking parlors of J. Gerend and funeral arrangements have not been completed but will be announced later. Mrs. Graff was woman who had a wide circle of friends, and her sudden death has cast a pall over the home, and in the circle in which she moved. She was a woman who took a great interest in her home, and if there was ever a person who brought credit to the name �mother� it was Mrs. Graff. The friends of the family extend sympathy to the surviving relatives in this hour of their bereavement.

Funeral services were conducted yesterday afternoon at 2 o�clock for Mrs. Frances Graff, from her home and then from St. Peter Claver church. Fathers Van Treeck and Cherne officiated and interment was in the South Side Catholic cemetery. A large number of people attended the funeral, many of them coming from all parts of the county. The pallbearers were Charles and George Frank, George Moleter, Dr. William Kane, Joseph Roltgen, and Henry Large.

Joseph Graff, aged 60, pioneer settler of the county and well known especially among the farmers, passed away at 10 o�clock last night in the St. Nicholas hospital after a two weeks� illness with bladder disease. He had been ailing for two years but had not been confined to bed until two weeks ago. Last Monday his condition became so serious that an immediate operation was necessitated. Death brought relief to his sufferings yesterday. Mr. Graff, who was one of the earliest farmers of the town of Sheboygan, was born in Oostburg in 1855 where he lived with his parents on a farm until the family came to Sheboygan when he was but two years old, settling in a clearing a short distance west of what is now Union avenue. After the death of his father in 1891, he was in charge of the farm for several years. His mother died two years ago. The survivors are a wife and six children, Mrs. Michael Mannebach, of Chicago; John, of Glenbeulah; Jerome, Osceola; Barthel and Joseph at home; Sister Mary Rose, teacher at Chicago. Miss Eva Graff, also a daughter died suddenly February 23. There are also three sisters, Mrs. Henry Kane, Mrs. Philip Sonneborn and Mrs. Thomas Dunn, all of this city, and one brother, Anton Graff of Sheboygan. Mr. Graff was one of the most highly respected residents of the city, having lived here practically all his life. He was considered a prosperous farmer who always took an interest in public questions. His demise is generally mourned. The funeral will be held at 9 o�clock Thursday morning from the St. Peter Claver Catholic church, Rev. J.P. VanTreeck, rector of the church, officiating. Interment will be made in the South Side Catholic cemetery.

The funeral of Joseph Graff, early settler of the county, who died Sunday night in the St. Nicholas hospital, was held at 9 o�clock this morning from St. Peter Claver Catholic church, Rev. J.P. The services were impressive and the many flowers contributed by friends and relatives were appropriate attributes to his noble character.

When Mrs. Joseph Graff, residing a short distance west of the South Yards, went upstairs to call her daughter Miss Eva, aged 22, this morning, she found not the usually happy young girl, but her limp, lifeless form. Her life was snuffed out during the night. A physician was summoned who pronounced death due to heart failure. Mrs. Graff, as she was wont to do, called her daughter at the stairs when it was time for her to arise. Receiving no answer, she called several times and then went to the girl�s room. She found her daughter lying on her back in bed, with her hands folded as if in supplication. The sight of the pale form so shocked Mrs. Graff that she screamed and fainted, falling on her back. The sons, Joseph and Bartholemus, who were milking in the barn, heard the scream and hastening to the house, they found their mother and sister in the room upstairs. At first glance they thought both were dead. Later Mrs. Graff revived but her condition is critical and it is doubtful whether she will recover from the shock. Miss Eva had been in an unusually happy state of mind last night and had played the piano until 10 o�clock, practicing new music she had purchased in the city last Saturday. Her demise was a surprise and a host of friends are grieved to learn of her untimely death. The survivors are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Graff, four brothers, John, of Glenbeulah; Jerome, of Greenbush; Joseph and Bartholemus, at home; and two sisters, Mrs. Michael Mannebach, of Ravenswood, near Chicago, and Miss Mary {Sister Mary Rose} who is teacher in a convent a short distance west of Chicago. Miss Graff spent Saturday evening and Sunday morning in the city as the guest of her aunt, Mrs. H.C. Kane, 418 North Water street. She attended the services in the St. Clement�s church on Sunday morning and returned to her home in the afternoon. The funeral arrangements have not been made, pending word from the relatives.

The funeral of Miss Eva Graff, who was found dead in bed Wednesday morning at her home near the South Yards, will be held at 9 o�clock tomorrow morning from the St. Peter Claver Catholic church, Rev. J.P. VanTreeck, rector of the church, officiating. Burial will be made in the South Side Catholic cemetery. The pallbearers will be the four brothers, John, Jerome, Bartle and Joseph Graff, George Pfrang and Joseph Roltzen. Mrs. August Graff, mother of the deceased, who was in a critical condition for some time after the demise of her daughter, is improving and will probably recover from the shock.

Funeral Services for Late Bartell Graff Held Tuesday. Funeral services for the late Bartell J. Graff, formerly of this city, who died on Saturday, August 29, at St. Elizabeth�s hospital in Appleton where he submitted to an operation, were held Tuesday morning from the Holy Angel�s Catholic church at Darboy. The funeral was in charge of the American Legion. Twenty-one comrades led by the United States flag which was carried by Joseph VanGroll, and the American Legion banner carried by Michael VanGroll, marched in the cortege. The color guards were John Berghuis and Matthew Sprangers. Commander Henry A. Stumf led the firing squad, composed of Joseph A. Stumpf, John Luniak, Herman VanVorst, Christian Gerig, Joseph Palm, Harry A. Stumpf, Sylvester M. Meehl, John Hartzheim, Bugler Alexander M. Schmals and guard of honor, Roman Feess. The American Legion pallbearers were Hugo Wittmann, Fred Probst, Joseph Koleske, John Behling, John Shauer and Alois Thiel. The requiem mass was said at 9 a.m. by Rev. John W. Husslein in the presence of a crowded church of mourners and friends. The honorary pallbearers were members of the B.P.O.E., No. 962, Ben Bell and N.M. Haupt, of Kaukauna; members of the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin, Emil Franz and John F. Dietzen, of Darboy, members of St. Joseph�s society, Henry Ashauer and William Kamkes, of Darboy. Following the services at Holy Angel�s church, the funeral cortege proceeded to this city and interment was made in the Graff family lot in the South Side Catholic cemetery where Mr. Graff�s parents and other members of the family are buried. Mr. Graff was born in this city, July 31,1888, and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Graff. He spent his boyhood here and received his education at St. Peter Claver school. He later took a business course at the Sheboygan Business college. On November 10, 1919, he was married to Miss Christina Brotz, this city, and after their marriage the couple started their future on a farm at Milladore, in Wood county. They lived there until May, 1921, when they moved to Darboy, near Appleton, and purchased the general store from Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Ashauer. Mr. Graff was known for his cheerful disposition and hospitality. During the World war, the deceased saw service as a sargeant in Company B, 311th Ammunition Train of the Blackhawk division on the American Expeditionary Forces in England, France and the United States. He was a member of St. Joseph�s society, the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin, both Darboy branches and the Leo VanRoy Post No. 265, American Legion of Darboy. He was also a member of the B.P.O.E. No. 962 of Kaukauna. The various organizations turned out to pay their last respects to a departed member. The deceased leaves to mourn his death, his widow and four small children, Raymond, Daniel, Michael and Frances, three brothers, Jerome Graff, Junction City; John, of Glenbeulah, and Joseph of Fond du Lac, and two sisters, Mrs. Michael Mannebach and Venerable Sister Mary Rose of St. Agnes� convent, Chicago. Funeral Service Friday For John Graff, Greenbush. John Graff, well known town of Greenbush farmer, died at 2 a.m. Wednesday at St. Agnes hospital, Fond du Lac, where he was taken after being suddenly stricken while in that city on business the day before. Mr. Graff drove to Fond du Lac and within five minutes after he got out of his car was stricken. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the home and at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Angels church, Osceola, the Rev. Francis Finnegan conducting. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Mr. Graff was born in the town of Greenbush 42 years ago and with the exception of six years spent in Chicago, had always followed the occupation of farming. He was married to Miss Genevieve Gallagher of Greenbush November 24, 1909, who with seven children survive. They are John Jr., Sylveria, Catherine, Magdaline, Rose, Margaret and Geraldine. He also leaves two brothers and sisters, Jerome of Junction City, Joseph of Campbellsport, Mrs. Michael Mannebach and Sister Mary Rose of the congregation of St. Agnes, both residing in Chicago. Mr. Graff was a member of the Knights of Columbus lodge of Plymouth and also belonged to the Holy Name society of the Armstrong church.

Mrs. Genevieve G. Graff, 86, of Villa Park, Ill., died Thursday at San Dimas, Calif., after a two- month illness. She was born on Feb. 6, 1884, at Greenbush, a daughter of Miles and Catherine Gallagher Heraty. She was married to John W. Graff and he died in 1928. Mrs. Graff is survived by one son, John J. Graff of Lombard, Ill.; six daughters, Mrs. Thomas Gannon and Mrs. Richard Ryan, both in California, Mrs. William Skach and Mrs. Howard Bieschke, both of Chicago, Mrs. Edward Drumm of Evergreen Park, Ill., and Mrs. Peter Faur of Villa Park, Ill.; 23 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Angel�s Catholic Church, Armstrong, with the Rev. Joseph Fischer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday at Candlish Chapel.

Funeral services for Mrs. Genevieve G. Graff, who died in San Dismas, Calif., Thursday, were held at Candlish Chapel at 9 a.m. today and 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Armstrong. The Rev. Joseph Fischer officiated at a white Mass. Burial took place in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were William Bieschke, Michael Bieschke, John Faur, Donald Gallagher, Dale Michaels and Jerome Roltgen.

Plymouth - {Special} - Mrs. Minnie Giffin, 83, of 511 N. Milwaukee Street, died at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Buchmann, Green Bay, Tuesday evening after an illness of 10 days.

She was born April 25, 1862, in Greenbush, daughter of Thomas and Ellen Franey, and attended Greenbush school. She later taught school in the Keach district, and in the primary departments of Greenbush, Lima, Beechwood and Cedar Grove.

On April 28, 1885, she was married to Walter W. Giffin at the parsonage of St. Paul's Epsicopal church here, and following the marriage the couple resided in the old Valley House near Plymouth., then at Lamartine and South Byron.

Fifty-one years ago the couple moved to Plymouth, where Mr. Giffin died Jan. 23, 1915

She was a past noble grand of Alice Rebekah Lodge No. 155, and served as its treasurer for many years. Survivors are two children, Stuart J. Giffin and Emma {Mrs. Oscar Buchmann}, of Green Bay; a step-daughter, Mrs. John Carpenter, Plymouth; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, four sisters, Mr. T. F. Volk, Plymouth; Mrs. Louis Wesendorf, Sheboygan Falls; Mrs. Otto Scheller, Milwaukee, and Mrs. A. J. White, Glenbeulah.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Wittkopp Funeral home, with the Rev. E. J. Fitzpatrick, of St. Paul's Episcopal church, officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Union cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening, and on Friday from 3 p.m. until time of services Saturday.

Members of the Alice Rebekah lodge will hold a ceremony at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Friday.

George M. Groh, Well Known Sheboygan Man, Passes Away At His Home This Morning

George M. Groh, aged 81, well-known Sheboygan man, died at his home, corner of S. Seventh street and Georgia avenue, at 5:45 a.m., today, after an illness of several days.

Death occurred in the home in which Mr. Groh was born, on July 24, 1853. It was situated north of the present location at the time of his birth, and was later removed to its present site.

Mr. Groh was the son of George and Elizabeth Groh, pioneer residents of this county. His parents came to this city in 1848. He was educated in local schools, and at an early age he took a great interest in photography and other art work, specializing in these lines all his life.

For many years, Mr. Groh's photograph studio was in the Groh building at the corner of N. Eighth street and Pennsylvania avenue, and he was one of the owners of the building. It was in this building that the first quarters of the Citizens State bank were located, and Mr. Groh was one of the original stockholders of the bank.

While Mr. Groh specialized in art and photography, he also had a poetic and musical bent. A musician himself, he at one time directed a band, and also played in musical organizations and individually at various functions in his earlier life.

In his younger manhood, Mr. Groh was considered to have been one of the best groomed men in the state. His principal fraternal interest in those years were in the Royal Arcanum, of which he was an active member.

All his life, Mr. Groh was conserative and thrifty, and he acquired a number of real estate holdings, which he had up to the time of his death. In recent years, he was not as active in photography and art as he was in other business matters.

His nearest surviving relatives are the following nephews and nieces: Captain Harry Groh and Ed Groh of Sheboygan; William Groh of Evansville, Wis.; Mrs. August Wilson of Milwaukee; Albert Freyberg, Mrs. Walter Bauer, Mrs. Elsie Linkul, Mrs. John Van Der Vaart, Mrs. Clara Boller and Mrs. Hattie Moechli of Sheboygan.

The remains were taken to The Hanchett Mortuary, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Herbert Stanton, pastor of St. Peter's Episcopal church, Sheboygan Falls, will officiate. Interment will be made in Wildwood cemetery. Friends wishing to view the body may do so soon after noon, Saturday.

Carl Grunewald, Sr., 90, formerly of Howards Grove, died Saturday evening at the Heritage Nursing Home.

He was born Nov. 18, 1884, in the town of Herman, son of the late Julius and Barbette Winkel Grunewald.

On July 20, 1918, he married Ella Barts in the town of Herman. She preceded him in death in 1969.

Survivors include four sons, Roman, Plymouth; Arvin, Elkhart Lake; Hubert, Manitowoc and Carl Jr., Sheboygan; three daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Verona) Perronne, Sheboygan; Mrs. Harry (Hildegard) Spindler, Howards Grove; Mrs. Wallace (Leona) Heling, Howards Grove; 37 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren; one brother, Herbert, Elkhart Lake; three sisters, Mrs. Lydia Fink, Elkhart Lake; Mrs. Elsie Illig, Manitowoc; and Mrs. Eleanora Boeldt, Sheboygan Falls. He was preceded in death by eight brothers and one sister.

Services will be held Friday at 8 p.m. at Ahrens-Zimmer Funeral Home in Howards Grove, with the Rev. Ruben Grosshuesch, pastor of Ebenezer United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Howards Grove.

Friends may call on Friday from 4 p.m. until time of services. A memorial fund has been established in his name.

Mrs. Carl Grunewald, 72, of R. 1, Sheboygan, died Tuesday night at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

The former Ella Barts was born on Sept. 20, 1897 in the Town of Herman, a daughter of the late Frank and Lydia Strube Barts. She attended Franklin School.

She was married to Carl Grunewald on July 20, 1918, and since then the couple operated a farm in the Town of Herman.

Mrs. Grunewald was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Town of Herman.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Verona) Perronne of rural Sheboygan, Mrs. Harry (Hildegard) Spindler of West Allis, and Mrs. Wallace (Leona) Heling of Howards Grove-Millersville; four sons, Roman of Franklin, Arvin of rural Kiel, Hubert of rural Manitowoc and Carl Jr. of Howards Grove-Millersville, 35 grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

Other survivors are three brothers, Arnold of the Town of Herman, Elmer of Chetek and Frank of Jackson, and six sisters, Mrs. Martin Grunewald of Ada, Mrs. Walter Hansman of Kiel, Mrs. Elmer Boeldt of Sheboygan, Mrs. Rudolph Weinhold of Random Lake, Mrs. Stanley Boss of Newton, and Mrs. Alfred Rahn of the Town of Sheboygan.

One brother preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Town of Herman, Rev. John F. Potratz, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the Walter H. Ahrens Funeral Home, Howards Grove-Millersville, from 4 p.m. Thursday until 11 a.m. Friday and at the church from noon until the hour of services.

A memorial fund has been established in Mrs. Grunewald's name.

Harley W. Grunewald, 70, of the Town of Herman, died in his home this morning following a lengthy illness.

He was born Oct. 5, 1906, in the Town of Herman, a son of the late Julius and Barbette Winkel Grunewald.

Aug. 1, 1936, he married Hildegarde Mahler at St. Paul Lutheran Church in the Town of Herman.

The couple farmed on the Grunewald homestead farm in the Town of Herman.

Mr. Grunewald was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Howards Grove.

He is survived by his widow; a son, Ralph, Cedarburg; a daughter, Mrs. Peter (Diane) Lutzke of Elkhart Lake; six grandchildren; two brothers, Herbert of the Town of Meeme (Manitowoc County), and Carl of the Town of Herman, and three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Illig, Manitowoc, Mrs. Eleanora Boeldt of Sheboygan Falls and Mrs. Lydia Fink of rural Elkhart Lake. He was preceded in death by a sister and seven brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Walter H. Ahrens Funeral Home, Howards Grove, with the Rev. William Lewis, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and until the time of services on Friday.

A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Grunewald's name for the American Heart Association.

Julius Grunewald, 76, life long resident of the town of Herman, died at his farm home Sunday at 10 p.m. after a week's illness. He was born October 3, 1862, in Germany, and came to America with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gottfried Grunewald when he was 5 years old, locating in the town of Herman.

He was a kind and loving father, very much devoted to his home and family. He was married to Barbette Winkel on August 15, 1886, and after their marriage they lived on various farms in town of Herman, for the past 37 years living at their present farm home. His wife preceded him in death on January 13, 1933.

Survivors are 10 sons, Louis, Carl, Norbert and Arno at Howards Grove; Martin at Ada, Walter at Millersville, Eddie in town of Herman, Oscar at Sheboygan, and Harley and Herbert at home; four daughters, Mrs. Ida Zimmerman at Franklin, Mrs. Eleanor Boeldt of town of Herman, Mrs. Lydia Fink of town of Rhine and Mrs. Elsie Illig of town of Mosel; 48 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Wilhelmina Brendel of town of Herman; one brother, William of town of Mosel. One son died in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at the Walter Ahrens Funeral home at Howards Grove on Wednesday morning. The exact time of the services will be announced later. The body may be viewed at the funeral home from Tuesday at 10 a.m. to the time of services.

Louis C. Grunewald, 70, of Howards Grove, a Town of Herman farmer, died early today at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital after an illness of one year.

A resident of Sheboygan County his entire life, he was born March 25, 1888, in the Town of Herman, a son of the late Julius and Barbette Winkel Grunewald.

He was baptized May 6, 1888 and was confirmed March 23, 1902, at Trinity Lutheran Church by the late Rev. Gustav Voit.

On Dec. 22, 1917, he was married to Miss Ella Dickmann by the late Rev. Edward W. Vornholdt at Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church in the Town of Herman.

After being engaged in the cheesemaking business for 20 years, Mr. Grunewald had operated a farm in the Town of Herman. He was a member of Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church in Town Herman.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Nelson of Howards Grove, and Harold of the Town of Plymouth; five grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Ida Zimmerman and Mrs. Arthur Fink of Town Herman, Mrs. Herbert Boeldt of Town Sheboygan Falls, and Mrs. Elsie Illig, Manitowoc, and six brothers, Carl and Norbert of Howards Grove, Walter of Millersville, Arno and Harley of Town Herman, and Herbert of Ada.

A daughter, Laverne, and four brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church in the Town of Herman, with the Rev. Clarence C. Schmidt, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Walter H. Ahrens Funeral Home at Howards Grove from 2 p.m. Friday until 11 a.m. Saturday, and at the church after noon Saturday.

Martin Heinrich August Grunewald, 66, son of the late Julius and Barbette Winkel Grunewald, died at his home in Ada at 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Born Dec. 9, 1889, in the town of Herman, he was baptised Jan. 26, 1890, was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church on April 5, 1903, by the Rev. Gustav Volt, and was married Jan. 11, 1913, to Elenora Barts. They located on a farm in the town of Herman, and for the past 21 years made their home in Ada.

Survivors are his wife; five children, Mrs. Arnold (Viola) Lemke of the town of Liberty, Milton of Town Herman, Norman of Sheboygan, Martin of Millersville and Merlin of Ada; four sisters, Mrs. Ida Zimmermann and Mrs. Arthur Fink of Town Herman, Mrs. Herbert Boeldt of Franklin and Mrs. Elsie Illig of Manitowoc; seven brothers, Louis, Carl and Norbert of Howards Grove, Walter of Millersville, Arno and Harley of Town Herman and Herbert of near Ada.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Town Herman with the Rev. John Potratz officiating, and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Marvin R. Grunewald, 36, R. 1, New Holstein, died early today at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for the past 2-1/2 weeks.

Born March 7, 1928, in the Town of Rhine, he was a son of William and the late Erna Grunewald, attended the district school, graduating in 1946, and later attended Lakeland College, Sheboygan County Teachers College, and Oshkosh State Teachers College.

He taught at rural schools in Sheboygan County for eight years, and for the past six yeras had been a teacher in the New Holstein Public School system.

On Aug. 26, 1950, he married Lora Zimmermann of the Town of Rhine. The couple lived in the Town of Rhine until moving to thir present home just east of New Holstein.

Mr. Grunewald was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in New Holstein, and a former consistory member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in the Town of Rhine where he also taught Sunday School.

Survivors are his widow; two daughters, Kristine and Karla; two sons, David and Dennis; his father, and one sister, Mrs. Vernon Riemer of rural Elkhart Lake. His mother died in June, 1952.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at St. John's United Church of Christ in New Holstein. The Rev. Charles A. Koch, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery in the Town of Rhine.

Friends may call at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home in Kiel from 3 p.m. Thursday until 1 a.m. Friday, at the church from noon until the services.

Norbert W. Grunewald, 70, of Howards Grove-Millersville, died Friday afternoon enroute to Memorial Hospital following an apparent heart attack at his home.

Born Jan. 21, 1898 in the Town of Herman, the son of Julius and Babette Winkel Grunewald, he attended schools at Howards Grove.

He married the former Hertha L. Roethel on Sept. 20, 1924, in St. John's United Church of Christ, Schwartzwald.

He was a member of that church all his life.

Until his retirement in 1966 he was employed at Konz Container Corporation, Howards Grove-Millersville.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, Marvin and James, and four grandchildren, all of Howards Grove-Millersville; four brothers, Walter, Carl and Harley, of Howards Grove-Millersville and Herbert of Ada; three sisters, Mrs. Elnora Boeldt, Sheboygan Falls, Mrs. Lydia Fink, Town of Herman, and Mrs. Elsie Willig, Sheboygan.

Five brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ, Schwartzwald, with the Rev. Edmond L. Hennig officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Walter F. Grunewald, 84, R. 2, Sheboygan, died this morning at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

He was born Sept. 2, 1891, in the Town of Herman, son of Julius and Babette Winkle Grunewald.

On May 28, 1919, he married Augusta Gosse in the Town of Mosel. He operated the Apple Creek Cheese Factory in the Town of Sheboygan Falls.

In 1935 the couple moved to the present farm until retiring in 1967. The couple observed their 50th wedding anniversary in 1969.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Town of Herman.

Survivors include his widow; a son, Elroy, R. 2, Sheboygan; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Arthur Fink, rural Elkhart Lake, Mrs. Norbert Illig, Sheboygan, and Mrs. Herbert Boeldt, Sheboygan Falls, and three brothers, Carl and Harley, R. 1, Sheboygan and Herbert, R. 1, Elkhart Lake.

He was preceded in death by a sister and six brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Town of Herman, with the Rev. Henry Juroff, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery in the Town of Sheboygan Falls.

Howards Grove - William C. F. Grunewald, 82, died at the home of his son, Arno, in the town of Herman this morning at 12:15 o'clock after a lingering illness.

He was born Nov. 22, 1857, in Germany, and was confirmed April 14, 1872, in the Lutheran church, town of Herman. He married Martha Fischer on April 27, 1888. The couple moved to a farm in the town of Centerville, where they resided for 14 years, and since 1905 had lived at the present farm. Survivors are three sons, Arno at home, Albert of Howards Grove, and William of the town of Rhine, and one daughter, Mrs. Robert Wesener, town of Meeme; also five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Minna Brendel, town of Herman. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death. His wife died Nov. 8, 1926. The body was taken to the Walter H. Ahrens Funeral home here, where it can be viewed from Wednesday noon until Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock, when it will be taken to the residence.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at St. Paul's Lutheran church, at the residence and at 2 o'clock town of Herman, the Rev. William Beckmann officiating, with interment in the churc cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Gosse, 71, of the town of Sheboygan Falls, died at Sheboygan Memorial hospital Sunday afternoon following a brief illness.

Mrs. Gosse was born in the town of Sheboygan Falls, Dec. 19, 1878, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Edler, and was married to Otto Fenner June 9, 1901. Mr. Fenner died in June 1904 and on July 16, 1905, Mrs. Gosse was married to Martin Gosse.

Mrs. Gosse was a member of the Zoar Evangelical and Reformed church in the town of Rhine, and a charter member of the Ladies' Aid of the church.

She leaves three sons, ... three daughters, ... one sister, Mrs. Walter Machut, town of Sheboygan Falls, and a brother, Henry Edler, of Elkhart Lake. Mr. Gosse died Sept. 19, 1935, and four brothers and one sister also preceded Mrs. Gosse in death.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Wittkopp Funeral home in Plymouth, the Rev. Otto Menke officiating, and burial will be in Sheboygan Falls cemetery.

Nickolas Gianakos, 1024 Indiana Avenue passed away Wednesday evening at St. Nicholas hospital after a short illness.

Mr. Gianakos was born in Greece some 60-odd years ago and made Sheboygan his home for many years. Complete funeral arrangements will appears in Friday's Press.

On July 5 occurred the demise of Miss Elfrieda Olga Grunke at the home of her mother at Cascade. The remains were interred in the Cascade Lutheran cemetery, the Rev. Mr. Halboth officiating.

Miss Grunke was twenty-seven years old, and had come from Germany in 1891. Her mother survives as does a brother Albert.

C. H. Gilson expired at his home at Greenbush on Tuesday, October 26, 1909, after an illness of about one month.

The last sad rites were performed for the aged veteran on Thursday, October 29, from the Greenbush Baptist church, the Rev. J. W. Horton officiating. The remains were consigned to their last resting place in the Greenbush Union cemetery. He was a member of the I. O. O. F. and the G. A. R., and the members of the two societies and the Rebekahs attended the obsequies in a body.

Mr. Gilson was born in Middlefield, Ohio, on February 23, 1831. His marriage with Miss Mary Jane Fenton took place in 1862. He early enlisted during the Civil war and when the term of his first enlistment expired, he re-enlisted for three years. He was discharged while serving the latter term for permanent disability. He served in Co. I, 5th Regt. Wis. Inf. In 1871 he went to Greenbush where he resided with his family until his death, except four years during which they lived in Fond du Lac.

Mr. Gilson is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. W. L. Piper of Sheboygan Falls; and two sons, Fred Gilson, Grand Rapids, Mich., and Earl Gilson at home.

The departed was a most congenial man who took pleasure in making those about him happy. His integrity was never questioned and altogether he lived an exemplary life.

Infant Guenther

Infant rites for Daniel Gordon Guenther, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon W. Guenther, of 3333 N. 10th St., who died several hours after birth Friday at St. Nicholas Hospital, were held this morning at Gerend's Funeral Home.

The Rev. Donald Hmircik, curate at Holy Name Catholic Church, officiated and burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

In addition to the parents, survivors are four sisters, Mildred, Marlene, Patricia, Laura; three brothers, Stephen, Randall, Russell, and the grandparents, Mrs. Bertha Wilberscheid and Mrs. Milda Guenther of Sheboygan.

Arwin Gosse, 62, died Saturday after being stricken with an apparent heart attack at his home in the Town of Mosel.

Born Oct. 30, 1904, in the Town of Mosel, he was a son of the late Joseph and Josephine Arndt Gosse. On Nov. 19, 1925, he married Anita Kuhn.

She died in 1957.

Mr. Gosse was a cheesemaker for one year at Plymouth, then farmed with his father in the Town of Mosel. After his father died he continued to operate the farm.

In 1960 he discontinued farming and purchased a tavern in the Town of Mosel.

Survivors include four sons, Daniel of St. Nazianz, LeRoy of Sheboygan, Roger of Millersville and Kenneth of Haven; four daughters, Mrs. Oliver (Laverne) Schultz of Plymouth, Mrs. Norman (Elvira) Beyer and Mrs. Ralph (LuEllen) Dhein, both of Sheboygan, and Mrs. William (Elaine) Quinn, Milwaukee; 25 grandchildren; one brother, Arthur, Howards Grove; and three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Hake, Town of Wilson, Mrs. William Witthuhn, Sheboygan, and Mrs. Roman Steffen, Plymouth.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Town of Mosel, with the Rev. Merlin Huebschmann, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Catherine E. Gaynor, 88, Plymouth, died suddenly early Saturday evening at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Atty. and Mrs. Gilbert Gannon, at Rice Lake, Wis.

A native of Sheboygan County, she was born Oct. 23, 1866, in the town of Mi{t}chell, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Murphy, pioneer residents of the county.

Her marriage to Matthew W. Gaynor was solemnized June 30, 1897, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in the town of Mitchell. Her husband died Jan. 27, 1945.

Prior to her marriage, she taught in the rural schools of Sheboygan County for 13 years. A resident of Plymouth since that time, she made her home with the Gannons at Rice Lake for the past several years.

Mrs. Gaynor was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth and was a charter member of both the Christian Mothers' Society and the Marquette Circle, Daughters of Isabella, of the parish.

She was a past president of the Plymouth Woman's Club.

Survivors are three sons, Leo J., Richland Center, Norman, of Minneapolis, and Atty. Gilbert (Madeline) Gannon, Rice Lake; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Essie Lindsay, Milwaukee.

One daughter, four brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Gentine Funeral home, Plymouth, followed at 9:30 a.m. by a requiem high mass at St. John the Baptist Church. The Rev. A. J. July, pastor, will be the celebrant. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Members of the Christian Mothers' Society and the Marquette Circle of St. John's parish will hold a joint vigil at the funeral home at 8 o'clock this evening.

The body will lie in state at the funeral home until the hour of services.

Dale Grunewald, nine-months-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Grunewald, of the town of Herman, died Monday afternoon at St. Nicholas Hospital after a brief illness.

The child was born June 16, 1955, and is survived by the parents, eight sisters, and four brothers; the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Grunewald, of the town of Herman; and the maternal grandmother, Mrs. George Specht, of the town of Sheboygan.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Walter H. Ahrens Funeral Home in Howards Grove. The Rev. John F. Potratz, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church of the town of Herman, will conduct the services, and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Joseph Gerhold, 82, a retired Sheboygan cigarmaker, died Tuesday evening at St. Nicholas Hospital after a brief illness.

He had been residing with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William Steinmetz at 2330 S. 15th St., for the past six years.

He was born in Sheboygan, a son of the late Severin and Caroline Gerhold, on Sept. 28, 1879, and received his education at Holy Name School. His marriage to Anna Theis was performed at Holy Name Church on June 12, 1906. She died May 20, 1955.

Mr. Gerhold was a cigarmaker until his retirement in 1955.

He was a member of Holy Name Parish all of his lifetime until he moved to his daughter's home in 1955. Since then he was affiliated with St. Peter Claver Parish.

Survivors are the daughter, Mrs. Steinmetz (Dorothy); and a sister, Mrs. Frank Trier, New Holstein.

Preceding him in death were a brother and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning with a requiem high Mass at 9:15 at St. Peter Claver Church following brief family rites at 8:45 at Gerend's Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert M. Hoeller, pastor, will be the celebrant and burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.

Funeral services for Peter J. Gottsacker, 70, who died Wednesday noon at St. Nicholas hospital, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Gerend's Funeral home and at 11 a.m. at Holy Name church.

The Rev. Edward Ziegler, curate, will be the celebrant of the requiem high mass. Interment will be made on the family lot in Calvary cemetery.

A life-long resident of Sheboygan, Mr. Gottsacker was born here on Feb. 4, 1879, the son of the late Peter and Rosa Gottsacker. He attended Holy Name parochial school.

His marriage to Theresa Bewerse was solemnized at Holy Name church by the late Rev. Msgr. Dominic F. Thili on Aug. 9, 1910. He was a life-long member of Holy Name church and was a member of the parish's Holy Name society.

Prior to his illness he was employed at the Jung Shoe company.

Survivors include his wife; a brother, Hugo, Sheboygan, and three sisters, Mrs. Clara Dressen, Mrs. Helen Smyth and Mrs. Anna Conrad, Sheboygan. Three brothers, Alphonse, Frank and John P. Gottsacker, preceded him in death.

The body will lie in state at the funeral home from 7 o'clock this evening until the time of the services.

Robert Godard, 60, of 808 Glen Ave., Howards Grove, died at St. Nicholas Hospital late Monday night following a prolonged illness.

He was born in Maquoketa, Iowa, on Aug. 10, 1913, a son of the late Milton and Carrie Godard.

He moved to Marshfield with his family as a child and attended school there.

After serving in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, in the China-Burma Theater, he came to Sheboygan.

On July 8, 1943, he married Miss Verna Kautzer here.

Mr. Godard worked at Garton Toy Co. from 1945 to 1950 and then farmed in the Kiel and Cleveland areas until illness forced his retirement recently.

Surviving are his widow; two sons, Peter and Jerome, both at home; two brothers, Harold of Sheboygan and Philip of Marshfield; and three sisters, Mrs. Arthur Kleinschmidt, Wausau, Mrs. Victor Brown and Mrs. John Klunk, both of Sheboygan.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Ramm-Ziegler Funeral Home, the Rev. Victor G. Meyer, pastor of Ebenezer Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.

Michael Gibbons, 77, who had been residing at 2022 Erie avenue, passed away early this morning at St. Nicholas hospital.

Mr. Gibbons was born in Town Mitchell, son of the late John and Bridget Gibbons, on Feb. 14, 1872. He farmed for many years on the homestead in Town Mitchell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and three sisters. Numerous nieces and nephews survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 7:30 at Gerend's Funeral home, followed by a requiem high mass at 8 o'clock at St. Dominic's church. Father George J. Knackert, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will take place in Calvary cemetery.

Mrs. Martha Greupink, 76, widow of Henry, a lifelong resident of the Town of Holland, died at 7 a.m. Wednesday at County Hospital of a brief illness.

The former Martha Voskuil, she was born on a farm about three miles northwest of Cedar Grove, Oct. 20, 1883, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Voskuil.

Her marriage to Mr. Greupink took place at Cedar Grove, Feb. 23, 1904.

Following marriage the couple settled on the Town of Holland farm where Mrs. Greupink continued to live following the death of her husband in September, 1957. The farm is now operated by a son, Jesse.

Also surviving are a daughter, Miss Arlene, at home; four grandchildren; and a brother, Henry W. Voskuil, R. 1, Cedar Grove.

Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Cedar Grove, of which she was a member. The Rev. John Verhage of Oostburg will officiate. The service will follow 1:45 family rites in the church basement. Burial will be in Presbyterian Cemetery north of Cedar Grove.

Mrs. Julia Gibbs, 79, widow of William Gibbs, passed away this morning at 7:30 o'clock at the St. Nicholas hospital following a lingering illness.

Born August 13, 1870, in Berlin, Wis., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bernart, she was married in 1887 to William Gibbs at Appleton. They resided in Milwaukee a number of years and at Sheboygan Falls for 15 years before coming to Sheboygan about 20 years ago.

She was a member of the First Methodist church and of the Women's society of Christian Service.

Survivors are two sons, George and Harry of Milwaukee; two daughters, Mrs. Bernard (Julia) Sternberg of Plymouth and Mrs. Clifford (Helen) Perkins of Sheboygan; 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Her husband passed away in 1934 and two sons and a daughter also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist church with the Rev. T. Parry Jones officiating. Interment will be made in Wildwood cemetery. Friends may call at the Ballhorn Funeral chapels from Saturday evening until 11 a.m. Monday and at the church from noon Monday to the time of the services.

Peter Greenewald, 55, of Haven, died Tuesday morning at St. Nicholas Hospital, Sheboygan, following a heart attack.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Nickles Funeral Home, Sheboygan, with the Rev. A.J. Knackert officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sheboygan.

Mr. Greenewald was born Aug. 3, 1904, at Sheboygan. He married the former Elizabeth Mazanet May 15, 1944.

Survivors include the wife.

Charles Gersmehl, 85, formerly of 2612 N. 19th St., died Tuesday evening at Rocky Knoll, where he had been a resident for the past three weeks.

Mr. Gersmehl had been residing with a daughter, Mrs. Henry Stauss, R. 1, Elkhart Lake, since 1963, before moving to Rocky Knoll.

He was born June 4, 1883 in the Town of Herman, a son of the late Ernst and Augusta Gersmehl. He attended district schools, and was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church near Howards Grove.

On Nov. 3, 1906, he married Miss Emelia Oehmichen of the Town of Meeme at St. James Evangelical and Reformed Church, Spring Valley. The couple resided in Manitowoc for three years, then operated a dairy farm in the Town of Centerville until 1944.

They then moved to Sheboygan, where Mr. Gersmehl was employed at Badger Hatchery and later at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital before his retirement in 1960.

Mrs. Gersmehl died in July of 1961.

Mr. Gersmehl was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Survivors are one son, Lester, Manitowoc; two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Marcella) Stauss, R. 1, Elkhart Lake, and Miss Lenora Gersmehl, Milwaukee; four grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Bertha Luedke, Sheboygan. He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and one granddaughter.

Funeral sevices will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels, with the Rev. Arnold Wenger, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery.

Carl Giese, 95, of 461 Rhine St., Elkhart Lake, died Thursday afternoon at home after a brief illness.

He was born March 20, 1878 in Massau, Germany, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl Giese. He came to the United States with his parents at age 6.

The family lived in the Wausau area before settling in the Town of Rhine.

On Feb. 24, 1912, he married Lillie Feldmann in Rhine. The couple farmed there until moving to Elkhart Lake in 1945.

He was a member of Community United Church of Christ, Elkhart Lake and the Senior Citizens.

The Gieses celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1972.

Survivors are his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Lucile) Miller and Mrs. Orville (Rheina) Klein, both of West Bend; a son, Frederick of Plymouth, 13 grandchildren and 2? great-grandchildren.

A daughter, grandson, seven sisters and five brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Community UCC with the Rev. Robert Johnston, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Elkhart Lake.

Age 79, died Tuesday evening at Manitowoc Memorial Hospital. He was born, December 4, 1897 in the Town of Clinton, Barron County, son of the late Frank and Bertha Glatz. He moved to Sheboygan where he worked as a carpenter and had resided in Shiocton where he worked as a carpenter until he retired in 1968.

The survivors include a brother, Edwin Glatz, Shiocton; two sisters; Mrs. Anna Ernst,and Mrs. Margaret Wiegan, both of Sheboygan. He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Ballhorn Funeral Chapel, 1201 N. 8th St., Sheboygan, with the Rev. S.M. Schreitmueller, pastor of St. Andrew Lutheran Church officiating.

Interment will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Mosel, Sheboygan County. Friends may call at the funeral chapel after 5 p.m. Thursday. A memorial has been established.

Herman F. Grohskopf, 81, of 632 N. 14th St., Sheboygan, died early Monday morning at Sunnyside Nursing Home, Sheboygan.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John United Church of Christ, Town of Herman. The Rev. E.L. Henning will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Grohskopf was born June 1, 1884, in Sheboygan Falls, son of the late Herman and Friedericka Kolberg. He moved to the Town of Herman with his parents and was engaged in farming until his retirement in 1949. He married the former Martha Bruesso and she preceded him in death in March of 1923. He then married the former Erna Zenker Wendlandt of Sheboygan. The couple moved to Sheboygan in 1949, where she died in October, 1965.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Herman (Hulea) Berth of rural Sheboygan, Mrs. Harvey (Anita) Ehrenreich of Rural Elkhart Lake and Mrs. Viola Siemers of Sheboygan; two sons, Herbert of Oregon, Wis., and Hugo of Kiel; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Friends may call at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, after 3 p.m. Tuesday until 11 a.m. Wednesday when the casket will be moved to the church where the body will lie in state from noon until the time of service.

Walter W. Grossheim, 72, a retired Town of Rhine farmer died unexpectedly early today after being stricken with an apparent heart attack at his home.

A resident of Sheboygan County his entire life, he was born on Sept. 23, 1897, in the Town of Greenbush, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Roderick Grossheim.

On Oct. 9, 1920, he married the former Hilda Kraemer in Glenbeulah. The couple resided in Greenbush until 1923 when they moved to the Town of Rhine. He was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ, Town of Rhine, and had served as an elder in the church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, LeRoy of Plymouth and Raymond of the Town of Rhine; one daughter, Mrs. Norman (Arleen) Reichardt of R. 2, Kiel; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Oscar Rumpff of R. 1, Kiel, two half-brothers, Richard Grossheim of Plymouth and Roderick Grossheim of Fond du Lac; two half-sisters, Mrs. Axel Rose of Chicago and Mrs. George Pfeifer of Glenbeulah, and one stepsister, Mrs. Ed Augustine of Stratford. Two brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St. Peter United Church of Christ, Town of Rhine, the Rev. John Seidler, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Greenbush Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Wittkopp Funeral Home, Plymouth, from 3 p.m. Tuesday until 10 a.m. Wednesday and at the church from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.

Oscar Gersmehl, father of Charles Gersmehl of Newton, died at Sheboygan yesterday morning after a short illness.

Mr. Gersmehl was a life-long resident of Sheboygan county. Survivors are the widow, one daughter, two sons, three sisters, his mother, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday afternoon at Sheboygan.

Mrs. Minnie Grasser, 70, wife of Michael Grasser of Chicago, died at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Nicholas hospital following a lingering illness.

She had been visiting in Sheboygan at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Gustav Waldau, 1601 N. Ninth street, when she was stricken and removed to the hospital.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Rades, the deceased was born Nov. 1, 1876, in the town of Schleswig, Manitowoc county, attended school at Rockville, and was married on Feb. 20, 1898, to Michael Grasser at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic church, Kiel.

Following their marriage, the couple resided on a farm in the town of Eaton and at New Holstein until 1901 when they moved to Marinette, Wis., where they lived until 1942. For the past fiveyears they had made their home with two children in Chicago.

Mrs. Grasser was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic church at Chicago, and was affiliated with the Christian Mothers' society at the parish.

Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Gustav (Erna) Waldan, Sheboygan, Mrs. Albert (Sylvia) Kearney, Cambridge, Mass., Mrs. Sigvald (Elmyra) Johnson, Chicago, and Mrs. Joseph (Leona) Pouliot, Waltham, Mass.; four sons, Raymond, Portsmouth, N.H., Cyrill, Chicago, Myron, Waltham, Mass., and Everist, Marinette; one sister, Mrs. Carl Koeser, Sheboygan Falls; a brother, William Rades, Kiel, and 17 grandchildren.

One son, First Lt. Sylvanus Grasser, was killed in action with an infantry unit on New Guinea in April, 1944.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Ballhorn Funeral chapels and at 9 a.m. at Holy Name church. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Philipp Dreis will officiate, and interment will be made on the family lot in Calvary cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the funeral chapels from Saturday afternoon until the time of the services.

Word was received here by telegram this morning by Miss Willa Odenbrett, 621 St. Clair avenue, that her sister, Mrs. Etta Odenbrett Geltch, 51, former Sheboygan music teacher, died Tuesday night at Topeka, Kansas. The boyd will arrive here Thursday when the funeral arrangements will be made. Mrs. Geltch was born on May 6, 1884, in Milwaukee, the daughter of William and Gretchen Mallman Odenbrett, but she had lived in Sheboygan most of her life. Of late years she had lived in Lawrence, Kansas. Mrs. Geltch received her early education at Holy Name school, and later she attended the Holy Angels academy at Milwaukee. She was a member of the Catholic church and was a charter member of the Sheboygan Music club. Surviving her are her sisters, Miss Willa Odenbrett and Mrs. Marjorie Odenbrett Van Allen, both of this city, and two aunts, Miss Katherine Mallman of Sheboygan, and Mrs. Mary Beach of Pasadena, Calif.

Private funeral services for Mrs. Etta Odenbrett Geltch, who passed away at Topeka, Kansas, will be held Saturday at 8:30 a.m., at the Gerrend Mortuary and at 9 a.m. with a requiem mass at St. Clement�s church. The Rev. Joseph Delany will officiate and burial will be made in Calvary cemetery. The body was expected to arrive here at 3:47 p.m., today, via the Chicago North Western railway.

Funeral services for Mrs. Etta Odenbrett Geltch, who died at Topeka, Kansas, were held this morning at 8:45 o�clock at the Gerend Funeral home and at 9 o�clock with a requiem mass at St. Clement�s church. The Rev. Joseph Delany officiated and interment was made in Calvary cemetery. Pallbearers were Arthur Neuses, Dr. Albin Gerend, Fred M. Maersch, George Kroeff, Louis Albrecht and Roland Pfister.

n.b. Maria Margaretha Julia Odenbrett was baptized on May 11, 1884 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Milwaukee WI.

Word was received in this city early today telling of the accidental death of Peter Gady, of Dacada, which occurred Sunday evening when a bullet entered his body in the region of his heart. At the time of the accident four or five men were in the saloon and Gady was back of the bar. One of the men carried a self acting fire piece and had been exhibiting it to those present and in replacing it in his pocket it was accidently discharged killing Gady. As soon as information was brought to the coroner he summoned the clerk of the court, Andrew Crogan and the following jury was drawn: John Den Rollander, Oostburg, Mat Daane, Oostburg, Wm. Swann, Lyndon, A.R. Munger, Waldo, A. Lownet, Holland and George W. Bages, Sherman. The sheriff's force was given the list and as soon as the jurors are drawn the body will be viewed and an inquest held. While the evidence points to accidental death, it was deemed advisable by the coroner to hold an inquest. Mr. Cady was 27 years of age and a young man who was held in high esteem. The news of his tragic death has caused sorrow in the community in which he was known. Word from Dacada this afternoon is to the effect that the shooting which was accidental was done by Tom Russell, a young man residing about five miles from the scene of the shooting. He had an automatic weapon and was exhibiting it at the time laboring under the impression that it was not loaded. There was one cartridge in the gun and this was discharged, the ball entering near the heart and causing instant death. The young man is prostrated by the sad affair and has volunteered to testify before the inquest. The inquest will in all probability be held Wednesday in this city and all those who were present at the time of the shooting will be called upon to give their story of the shooting.

Robert Lea Gallon, one of the twins of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gallon, died of convulsions at six o'clock this morning and interment took place in Wildwood cemetery. The friends of Mr. and Mrs. Gallon will extend sympathy.

This morning the other twin, John Race Gallon, passed away at the family residence and interment took place in the family lot at Wildwood beside the remains of Robert Lea Gallon. The happiness in this home was at its zenith when these beautiful sons appeared and their summons to that other world is a sad blow. However, the parents have consolation in the thought that the Master does all things for the best, and his judgment cannot be questioned. The sympathy of the many friends of Mr. and Mrs. William Gallon is extended to them at this time.

Henry Garside, a well known resident of Hoard, in the Town of Holland, who died last Sunday, was buried yesterday. He was 38 years old and leaves a wife and eight children. Mr. Garside served on the jury here at different times and was very popular among those who knew him. He was operated on at Wesley Hospital, Chicago, about three weeks ago and it was believed he was recovering when, upon arising from the breakfast table a week ago Tuesday morning he suffered a stroke of .... Further medicall aid was of no avail and he gradually .... with .... he passed away.

Mrs. Minnie Geele, wife of William Geele, died early this morning at her home 1822 N. 12th st., of rheumatism of the nerves from which she has been suffering for the past nine weeks. Mrs. Geele whose maiden name was Minnie Cumberlidge, was born in Schenectady NY Mar 17, 1872. Mr. and Mrs. Geele were married in Sheboygan 17 years ago, and have been residents in this city since that time. She is survived by her husband and one son Frank of this city besides a brother George Cumberlidge of Manitowoc and one sister Mrs. Lillie Gurney of Stevens Point. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 o'clock in the afternoon from the house. Interment will be at Wildwood.

The funeral of Mrs. Wm. Geele was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from her late home 1822 North 12th st. Rev. W.F. Horstmeyer of the German Reform church officiated at the services. Interment was at Wildwood.

August Gehrke, aged 76 years, died Monday at his home in School Hill, Manitowoc county of old age. Mr. Gehrke was born in Germany and came to this country and settled in Sheboygan when quite young. He made this city his home until recently when he went to live with his children in School Hill. The body was brought to this city and interment took place in Wildwood, this afternoon, Rev. Krueger officiating. ...Mr. and Mrs. August Gehrke of Milwaukee are in the city to attend the funeral of Mr. Gehrke's father, August Gehrke.

Word was received here yesterday of the death of Mrs. John Gerend who died at Oakland CA Wednesday evening of a complication of diseases. Mrs. Gerend was well known in the city having been born in Sheboygan and lived here for 46 years. A year ago she became ill and the family moved to California. The deceased was 47 years old and is survived by her husband and three sons, Roger, Mathew and Waldemar. Her maiden name was Mergeneier. Her father was a butcher here 50 years ago. The deceased was an aunt of Miss Elizabeth Erb who taught in the high school last year, and went to Oakland three weeks ago, accompanied by Mrs. Keltenhofen of Appleton for a visit. The funeral will be in Oakland, where interment will be made.

The remains of Mrs. John Gerend, who died in California, will arrive here this evening or tomorrow morning for burial. It was announced in Saturday's paper that the burial would take place in California, but the plans were changed. The family of the deceased left California Sunday evening with the remains.

The remains of Mrs. John Gerend will arrive tomorrow evening or Saturday morning from California. Jacob Gerend of this city received word this morning to make arrangements for the funeral on Saturday at 9 o'clock from the North Side Catholic Church.

The body of Walter Goldapski, who was drowned 350 feet south east of the south pier at 2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon was recovered shortly after 11 o'clock this morning by Captain Dionne of the life saving station and a volunteer crew consisting of Edward Shambeau, Charles Simmow, Charles Bischoff, Adolph Magnan and J. Smeis. A frozen broomstick in the ice gave a clue as to the real location of the body, as one of the lads who was with Goldapski, at the time ... out that they had this ... hands while skating out on ... ... there with the aid ... ... planks, to make it safe, a large hole was cut in the ice and with the aid of hooks the body was ... ... his tassel cap was ... ... surface and a few ... ... the hooks took a firm ... and the body ... ... above water. The ... ... to the Goodrich ... ... Coroner Feagan viewed it and the names of witnesses ... ... The body was then taken to the Hanchett morgue. ... ten years of age ... Anderson aged 12 and ... who are attending the Fourth ward building ... an afternoon off due to ... of a connection in ... They planned an ... and were going out on what seemed safe ice, each holding the broom stick in hand. All the lads went into the lake at the same time as the ice crumpled under their weight, but Albany and Carl were able to save themselves by taking hold of the ice and pulling themselves out of the water. Goldapski skated right in and went to the bottom, his partners never catching sight of him after his body went below the surface the first time. Walter was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Goldapski, and is survived by a brother and sister. The family resides at 1424 S. 9th st. The sad happening has caused sorrow in the home. The case is a particularly sad one. The father and mother are deaf and dumb and comforting words are lost at a time like this. Walter was a bright little lad, and a favorite in his school, and his playmates were stunned at the news of his tragic death.

The funeral of little Walter Goldapske, who met death by drowning last Tuesday, took place yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Wangesen of Milwaukee, who preaches to the deaf and dumb throughout the state, using their signs, officiated. Interment was at Wildwood. The pallbearers were Arno Hacker, Lester Heiden, Carl Olson and Master Grimmer, school mates from the Fourth ward school. Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Messrs and Mesdames John Goldapske, Gus Goldapske, Paul Goldapske, Emil Goldapske, Henry Erke and Frank Lou of Fond du Lac and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bethke of Lake Mills.

The funeral of Mrs. Theodore Gunderson who died at the Augustana Hospital in Chicago, Monday night was held from her late home on Georgia Ave., at 1:30 and from the St. Andrew's Lutheran church at 2 o'clock this afternoon. The Rev. Wm Stahling officiated and interment was made in the Wildwood cemetery. The pallbearers were Gustav, Martin, Nels, Fred and Lewis Gunderson and Emil Hinz.

The ten year old child of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Greger, 1333 New Jersey avenue, died Sunday noon of diptheria. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock from the late home. Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery, Rev. Burger officiating.

The 9 year old daughter, Rose, of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Guelzow died yesterday afternoon at the home, 1320 S. 15th st. of diphtheria. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the vault in the Lutheran cemetery. Rev. Burger will officiate.

Helen, M. Gall, 98, a resident of Morningside Health Center for the past seven years, died peacefully on Saturday morning, May 28, 2011. Helen was born on Jan. 14, 1913, in Kiel, the daughter of Frank and Christina (Schoenung) Melger. Helen attended grade school in Kiel. On Aug. 1, 1931, she married Alphonso C. Gall in Kiel. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2003, following 71 years of marriage.

Helen worked at the Woolen Mills and Richardson Bros. in Sheboygan Falls, and did cleaning for two families in the Kohler area. Helen was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls, and the former Christian Mothers. She enjoyed playing sheepshead, canning pickles and jam, word puzzles, crocheting anything from small items to full size blankets, polka music and participating in the many activities at the nursing home.

Helen is survived by two daughters and their husbands; a son-in-law; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one brother and his wife; a sister-in-law; nieces and nephews.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Joan Walsh; one son, Alphonso Gall, Jr.; a son-in-law, Gary Holzem; a grandson, Steven Walsh; two sisters, Eleanor (Joe) Prepster and Ann (Willard) Scheibl; and five brothers, Joe (Elizabeth), Edward, Harry (Vickie), John (Mary) and Paul Melger.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls, on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Sheboygan Falls.

Friends may greet the family at Blessed Trinity Parish on Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. until the time of Mass at 7 p.m.
