Frank H. Hartmann, 75, of 4811 Superior Ave., a retired Town of Sheboygan farmer, died after a brief illness at 7 a.m. today at St. Nicholas Hospital.

Born in Sheboygan Aug. 23, 1886, he was a son of the late John and Mary Hartmann. He attended Trinity Lutheran School and was confirmed in Trinity Church.

He married Mrs. Martha Fischer, also of Sheboygan, April 1, 1940, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Mr. Hartmann operated the homestead farm in the Town of Sheboygan west of the city until his retirement in 1952.

Surviving are his wife; four sons, Elroy and Jerome, at home, James, Milwaukee, and Francis; a daughter, Miss Esther, Jefferson; four stepsons, Manfred, Raymond, Hans and Fritz Fischer, all of Sheboygan; eight grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. William Kaesermann and Mrs. Jacob Nolden, Sheboygan.

Three sisters, a brother and two infant children preceded him in death.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels with the Rev. Robert Ehlers, pastor of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.

Friends may call at Ballhorn's after 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Thomas Leonard Hittman, 58, of Sheboygan, died Sunday, May 30, 1999.

He was born Feb. 10, 1941 in West Allis to Thomas and Alvina {Teske} Hittman.

He is survived by three sons, a daughter, a step-son, his mother, a brother, eight grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas.

He graduated from Stephenson High School in Michigan and was currently employed at U.S. Filter in Sheboygan.

He enjoyed the outdoors, deer hunting and spending time with family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 3, 1999 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church at 3 p.m. The Rev. Dave Taylor will be officiating. Friends may call at the Church, 623 Ontario Ave., Sheboygan, from 1 p.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Thomas' name.

Ruth Hinze, 91, formerly a resident of Harmony House in Sheboygan for the past two and one half years, died Saturday June 5, 1999 at St. Nicholas Hospital. From 1991 to 1996, Ruth was a resident of Brownsville, TX.

The former Ruth Ringer was born Sept. 13, 1907 in the town of Herman a daughter of the late Charles and Sophia {Gumm} Ringer.

She attended Howards Grove Schools before her family moved to Sheboygan in 1914. In Sheboygan, she attended Franklin School and graduated from Sheboygan High School with the class of 1923.

On Sept. 25, 1929, Ruth was united in marriage to Reuben Hinze in Sheboygan. Reuben died Oct. 4, 1985.

During WWII, the family operated "The Stand," a hot dog stand which was located at the corner of South 12th Street and Union Avenue. For a time Ruth was employed at Northern Furniture Co. in Sheboygan and later she was employed by the city of Sheboygan, retiring in 1972.

Ruth was a charter member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, a member of the Ladies Aide Circle and a member of the church choir. Ruth was a member of Order of The Eastern Star Chapter 139, Sheboygan Turners Auxiliary and Turners Square Dance Club.

Survivors include one son, two daughters, 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one brother-in-law, and one sister-in-law. Ruth is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one grandson and two brothers.

Funeral services for Ruth will be conducted on Tuesday June 8, 1999 at 7 p.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ. The Rev. David Taylor, pastor, will officiate. Burial will take place at Wildwood Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church, 2114 Wedemeyer St. on Tuesday from 3 p.m. until the time of services at 7 p.m. A memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday at the church at 6:30 p.m. by Order Of The Eastern Star Chapter 139.

Ruth's family has established a memorial in her name for St. Paul United Church of Christ.

John "Jack" William Houmes Sr., 74, of Colorado Springs, Colo., died May 29, 1999. Mr. Houmes retired from the General Electric Co., as the aerospace programs western district manager after 38 years of service.

Jack was born May 11, 1925 in Sheboygan to Joseph and Frances {Hildebrand} Houmes. He attended Central High School in Sheboygan, graduating in 1943. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a degree in electrical engineering after serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was married April 13, 1951 to Carol Ann Thomas of Wauwatosa, Wis.

Mr. Houmes was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity, the University of Wisconsin Alumni Association, the IEEE Engineering Society, the General Electric Elfun Society, the Moila Shrine and the First Presbyterian Church of Colorado Springs. He was active in many Colorado Springs civic groups.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, a sister, one niece, one grandniece, and many wonderful friends and relatives. A son preceded him in death.

A memorial service was held in Colorado Springs on June 3, 1999. Graveside services were held June 11, 1999 in Wales, Wis.

Died, Friday morning, Feb. 6th, of old age, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. Meyers, Mrs. Anna Rose Hemmi, aged 83 years, 1 month, 14 days. Mrs. Hemmi was born in Germany in 1819, and in 1859 came with her husband and four children to Wisconsin and settled in Sheboygan county. Her first husband, F. Plutte, died in 1863, and several years later she was again united in marriage with F. Hemm, who died here in 1894. In 1883 she came with her husband to Green Grove where she lived to the time of her death. She enjoyed the best of health in her old age and the day before her death took a walk in the yard and ate a hearty supper with the family and her sudden death the next morning was a shock to all. She was a gentle and kind old lady, beloved by all who knew her. She leaves to mourn her death four children, namely, Christian of Milwaukee, Rose {Mrs. H. Heide} of Sheboygan Falls, Fred and Caroline {Mrs. H. Meyers} of this place, twenty-one grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. The funeral was held from Zion's church Sunday afternoon, Rev. Bruengger officiating.

Funeral services for Elsie Hake, 87, formerly of Route 3, Sheboygan, and a resident of Sunny Ridge where she died Tuesday, will be held at 2 pm Friday at the Nickel-Lippert Funeral Home.

The former Elsie Gosse was born in the Town of Mosel on September 26, 1892, a daughter of the late Joseph and Ernestina {Arndt} Gosse. On May 28, 1913, she was married to August Hake, in the Town of Mosel. He died in 1929.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Rudolph {Martha} Thielman and Mrs. Edmund {Mabel} Reyer, both of Route 3, Sheboygan; three grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Olga Steffen of Kiel. A sister and two brothers preceded in death.

Funeral services for Mrs. Frieda Hasche, 77, of 1215 Michigan Avenue, who died Monday morning at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels.

The Rev. George Mohr, pastor of Zion United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in Kohler Cemetery.

The former Frieda Kummer was born September 9, 1900, in the Town of Sheboygan, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, a daughter of Robert and Martha {Gosse} Kummer. On October 11, 1919 she married Oscar E. Hasche, also of Sheboygan, at Zion United Church of Christ. Mr. Hasche, a Sheboygan plumbing contractor, died December 21, 1961.

For the past several years, Mrs. Hasche has been spending the winter months at the home of her son at Boynton Beach, Florida.

Survivors are one son, Frederick, of Boynton Beach; nine grandchildren, and one brother Walter Kummer, of Sheboygan. She was preceded in death by one brother.

Edgar M. Hicken, 87, of 1312 Arthur Drive, Ames, Iowa, formerly of Plymouth, died Saturday at Mary Greeley Memorial Hospital in Ames, following a two-week illness.

He was born April 14, 1895, in the Town of Scott, son of Barnard and Eliza Morse Hicken. He attended Beechwood School in Beechwood.

On May 15, 1919, he married Frona Lubach at St. John United Church of Christ in Beechwood. The couple lived in Plymouth following their marriage. Mrs. Hicken died Sept. 24, 1977.

Mr. Hicken worked as an auto mechanic for 48 years in the following Plymouth garages: Deicher and Arndt Garage, Service Motor Co., Emmett Miller Garage, Wisconsin Motor Service, and Gessert and Hoffmann Garage before retiring in 1964.

Since November, 1978, he has lived with his daughter and son-in-law in Ames.

Mr. Hicken was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. George {Arlyle} Standish of Ames, Iowa; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 8 p.m. at Wittkopp Funeral Home. The Rev. Lowell Ferguson, pastor of Salem UCC will officiate. Burial will be in Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Edgar Hicken, 78, of 520 McColm St., Plymouth, died at Plymouth Hospital early this morning where she had been a patient for the past six weeks.

The former Frona Lubach was born Oct. 1, 1898, in the Town of Scott, a daughter of Edward and Katherina Luhn Lubach. She attended Beechwood schools.

On May 15, 1919, she married Mr. Hicken at St. John Evangelical Church in Beechwood. The couple had lived in Plymouth since their marriage and celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1969.

She was a member of the Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth.

Survivors are her husband; one daughter, Mrs. George {Arlyle} Standish of Ames, Iowa; three grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Alma Kraemer of the Town of Scott, Mrs. Henry Hicken of Beechwood, Mrs. Cora Liermann of Plymouth and Mrs. Marie Stahl of West Bend. She was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Salem United Church of Christ, Plymouth, the Rev. Lowell Ferguson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.

Henry J. Hicken, 87, a resident of the Beechwood area, died early today at Samaritan Home, West Bend.

He was born Sept. 3, 1893, in the Town of Scott, a son of Bernard and Eliza Barnes Hicken.

On February 17, 1916, he married Clara M. Laubach. She died last May 26.

He was a retired dairy farmer.

Mr. Hicken was a lifetime member of St. John United Church of Christ, Beechwood.

Survivors are one son, Carroll of Beechwood; one daughter, Mrs. Berniece Ramthun of Kewaskum; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Edgar of Ames, Iowa. He was preceded in death a sister.

The funeral service will be a 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John United Church of Christ, Beechwood. The Rev. William Kesting will officiate. Burial will be in Beechwood Union Cemetery.

Mrs. Henry J. Hicken, 86, a resident of Samaritan Nursing Home, West Bend, and a longtime Beechwood area resident, died early Tuesday at the nursing home.

The former Clara M. Lubach, she was born Jan. 17, 1895, in the Town of Scott, a daughter of Edward and Kathryn Luhn Lubach.

On Feb. 17, 1916, she and Henry J. Hicken were married at St. John United Church of Christ, Beechwood.

She was a lifetime member of St. John Church and its Ladies Aid.

Surviving are her husband, of West Bend; one son, Carroll of Beechwood; one daughter, Mrs. Bernice Ramthun of Kewaskum; seven grand-children; six great grand-children; and three sisters, Mrs. Alma Kraemer of rural Cascade, Mrs. Cora Lierman of Plymouth and Mrs. Marie Stahl of West Bend. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. John Church, Beechwood, with the Rev. William Kesting, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Beechwood Union Cemetery.

Carroll E. Hicken, 73, of Beechwood passed away on Sunday, December 23, 1990 at St. Joseph Community Hospital, in West Bend.

He was born on July 6, 1917 in the Town of Scott, the son of the late Henry and Clara {Lubach} Hicken.

On September 7, 1946, he was united in marriage to Mathilda Heinecke at St. John's Lutheran Church, in Plymouth. Mr. Hicken was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Beechwood and was a member of the Beechwood Senior Citizens, where he held the office of vice president.

Survivors include his wife, Mathilda; one son, Robert of Beechwood; two daughters, Ruth Hicken, of Beechwood and Rita {Lee} Rich, of West bend; a sister, Bernice Ramthun, of Kewaskum; a granddaughter, Rachel Rich.

Funeral services will be held at St. John's United Church of Christ in Beechwood at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, with Rev. Edwin Stanford officiating. Burial will be in the Beechwood Union Cemetery. Carroll E. Hicken, 73, of Beechwood, died Dec. 23, 1990 at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, West Bend.

He was born July 6, 1917 in the Town of Scott, the son of the late Henry and Clara Lubach Hicken. On Sept. 7, 1946 he married Mathilda Heincke at St. John Lutheran Church, Plymouth.

Mr. Hicken was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Beechwood, and the Beechwood Senior Citizens, where he served as vice-president.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Robert of Beedchwood; two daughters, Ruth Hicken of Beechwood and Rita {Lee} Rich of West Bend; one granddaughter; one sister, Bernice Ramthum of Kewaskum.

A funeral service was held Dec. 27 at St. John U.C.C., Beechwood. Rev. Edwin Stanford, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Beechwood Union Cemetery. The Miller Funeral Home, Kewaskum, is serving the family.

Mrs. Mathilda A. Hicken, 79, of Beechwood, passed away on Friday, August 28, 1998 at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center in Sheboygan.

She was born on Feb. 27, 1919 in the town of Plymouth, the daughter of the late Carl and Ida {Allwardt} Heincke and on Sept. 7, 1946 she was united in marriage to Carroll Hicken at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth. Her husband preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1990.

Mrs. Hicken was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Beechwood, the Ladies Aide, Beechwood ABC Senior Citizens and Cascade Senior Citizens.

Survivors include a son, Robert of Beechwood; two daughters, Ruth Hicken of Beechwood and Rita {Lee} Rich of West Bend; a granddaughter, Rachel Rich, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1998 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Beechwood with Rev. William Wiederanders officiating. Burial will follow at Beechwood Union Cemetery.

Herman G. Hinz, 58, died this morning at 5 o'clock at his home, 1023 High avenue. He was born in the city on Oct. 19, 1882. Several years later his parents moved to the town of Wilson where attended Trinity Lutheran school and was confirmed by the late Rev. Dorpat in 1896.

He was married to Katherine Koch, city, on Jan. 7, 1905. The couple made their home in the city, where Mr. Hinz was employed at the Northern furniture company for many years. For the past 15 years he was employed in the city street department.

Survivors are his widow, one son, Kenneth, at home, two sisters, and two brothers, Mrs. Wenzel Kalatowitz, Mrs. Fred Roewer, William Hinz, this city, and Rheinhold, Sheboygan Falls.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Ramm Funeral home, the Rev. H.H. Wegner officiating, with burial in Lutheran cemetery. The body can be viewed at the funeral home from Sunday night on.

Funeral services for Herman G. Hinz, 1023 High avenue, who died Saturday, were held at the Ramm Funeral home Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. The Rev. H.H. Wegner officiated, and interment was in the Lutheran cemetery.

Mrs. Arthur Manzke sang "Also hat Gott die Welt geliebt" and "Jesus, Meine Zuversicht". Hugo Gessner was organist. Pallbearers were Ferdinand Roewardt, Paul Hinz, William Hinz, Wenzel Kaltowich, Joseph Diehl and Reinhard Hinz.

Among out of town people attending the last rites were Mr. and Mrs. Reinhold Hinz, of Sheboygan Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Peglow, of Hika, Wis., and many friends and relatives from the town of Sheboygan and the town of Wilson.

Mrs. Kathryn Hinz, 72, widow of Herman, 1023 High Ave., passed away Saturday afternoon at her home following a lingering illness.

She was born at Hancock, Mich., on February 28, 1879, the daughter of Andrew and Amelia Koch. She attended school at Hancock until the family moved to Sheboygan in 1889. Mrs. Hinz attended Trinity Lutheran school and was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran church.

She was married to Herman Hinz on Jan. 6, 1906 {sic, Jan 7, 1905}, at Bethlehem Lutheran church. Mrs. Hinz was a member of that congregation.

The survivors include one son, Kenneth, at home; one brother, William of Milwaukee; three sisters, Mrs. Louise Grasse and Mrs. Rose Kathke of Sheboygan and Mrs. Millie Ertel of Kohler. Her husband died in 1939 {sic, 1941}. Her parents and three sisters {Theresa} also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, at the Steffen Funeral chapel, with the Rev. Carl Ladewig, pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran church, officiating. Burial will be made in Lutheran cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from this evening to the time of services on Tuesday.

Funeral services for Mrs. Kathryn Hinz, 72, who passed away at her residence at 1023 High Ave. Saturday afternoon were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Steffen Funeral Home.

The Rev. Carl Ladewig officiated, and burial was made in Lutheran Cemetery. Mrs. Alice Manzke, accompanied my Jean Howard Elvers at the organ, sang "I'm But a Stranger Here" and "Abide With Me."

Pallbearers were: William Grasse, John Markus, Clarence Koch, Orville Schilling, Ingram Stovern, and Frederick Roth.

William F. Henning, 63, 1512 Alabama avenue, passed away at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital early this morning.

Born in Frauenhagen, Brandenberg, Germany, June 19, 1879, he came to the United States at the age of 12 years. He attended Immanuel Lutheran school in Sheboygan and was confirmed in 1893. On June 1, 1912, he married Mrs. Louise Kruschke Degen, of the city, and the family made its home here.

For many years he was employed at the Zimbal brick yard and at the National Box and Specialty company. He was a teamster for the Schreier brewery for more than 20 years, and during the past 13 years he had been employed at the C. Reiss Coal company. He was a member of the Home Order of Foresters.

Surviving are his wife; a son, William, at home; two step-sons, Harvey and Delmar Degen of Sheboygan; six grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Ernst Zimmerman, Lower Falls road. A daughter, Rose, died at the age of two.

Services will be held at the Ramm Funeral home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. H.H. Wegner officiating. Burial is to be in the Lutheran cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the funeral home from 5 o'clock Wednesday afternoon until the time of the services.

Funeral services for William Henning, 1512 Alabama avenue, who passed away Tuesday morning at Sheboygan Memorial hospital, were held Friday afternoon at the Ramm Funeral home, the Rev. H.H. Wegner officiating. Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery.

Pallbearers were Arthur Zimmermann, Harvey Zimmermann, William Daehnert, Otto Daehnert, Lesteer Lengfeld, and Rudolph Jahn. During the services Mrs. Arthur Manske sang "A Pilgrim and A Stranger, I Journey Here Below," and "Jesus Christ, My Sure Defense." Hugo Gessner accompanied at the organ.

Among out-of-town persons attending were Mr. and Mrs. Sigmund Hoenke of Kohler.

Mrs. Theresa Henning wife of William Henning died Saturday night at 11 o'clock at her home 1202 S. 19th street, of tuberculosis. Mrs. Henning's maiden name was Miss Theresa Koch and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Koch of this city. Besides her husband and parents she is survived by a large circle of friends who will be grieved to hear of her untimely death. The funeral will be held from her late home Wednesday at 1:30 from the house and at 2 o'clock from the Bethlehem church. The Rev. Wm. Wambsgans will conduct the services and interment will be in the Lutheran cemetery.

Cornelius, the ten month old child of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Hurteinne died yesterday afternoon at the home R.R. No. 3, on the Howards road, of brain fever. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon from the residence. Interment in Wildwood cemetery, the Rev. Krueger officiating.

On Tuesday afternoon, from her home, 1039 C street, Mrs. S. D. Hyde passed into her eternal rest. She had not enjoyed good health for a number of years, but was seriously ill only a few days.

Mrs. Hyde was born at Red Creek, N.Y., April 9, 1844, and was married to Stephen D. Hyde, March 21, 1866. After spending a few years at Sheboygan and Milwaukee, Wis., they came to Lincoln in March, 1885.

Mrs. Hyde was converted while very young and has from time to time been an active and energetic worker in the church, the Sunday school and every organization that had for its object the advancement of the kingdom of Jesus Christ, her Savior. For more than thirty years she was a member of the First Baptist church and deeply interested in every department of its work.

Believing the Bible to be God's inspired word, she taught it in her Sunday school class in such a way as to impress others. She had sublime faith, and those coming in contact with her had their own faith quickened.

Mrs. Hyde was a charter member of the Women's Christian association, which afterward became the city Y.W.C.A. She leaves, besides her husband, S. D. Hyde, a son, Maurice A. Hyde; a daughter, Dr. Winifred F. Hyde, and two sisters, Mrs. F. E. Campbell of Lincoln and Mrs. C. L. Brink of Hartford, Wis., and a brother, Sebastian Stumm, jr, of Weedsport, N.Y.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Word has been received in the city of the sudden death of Herman Hahne, former Lincoln resident, which occurred Tuesday, December 21, at Schaller, Ia. His Lincoln residence was 418 South Twenty-seventh street.

Mr. Hahne was 61 years of age. He was preparing to leave for Florida to spend the winter when he was stricken with heart trouble and died.

Mr. Hahne was born in Sheboygan county, Wis., in 1855. He had resided at Schaller, Ia., for many years, returning to that place after several years' residence in Lincoln. Mrs. Hahne died about five years ago.

Mr. Hahne is survived by a son, Ernest Hahne, who is an instructor in the college at Mitchell, S.D.; a sister, Mrs. H. S. Luhman and three brothers, J. H. Hahne of Storm Lake, Ia., and William and August Hahne, of Schaller. Funeral and burial took place at Schaller.

Sheboygan, Wis., Feb 3 - Charles Hoehnke, aged 29, shot his wife yesterday and then killed himself after running a block down the street. A third death was added when the doctors operated upon the woman in a vain attempt to save an unborn child.

Edwin W. Heinke, who had been affiliated with Coshocton's vast advertising industry since 1895, died at 5:45 last evening at his home at 448 Chestnut st., from complications. He was 68.

Mr. Heinke underwent an operation last February and never entirely recovered. A complication of ailments developed, and he became bedfast last Wednesday.

For many years Mr. Heinke was recognized as one of the leading calendar salesmen in the nation, and for the past five years he had been a jobber for the Guy S. Meek Calendar Co. of this city operating from his home.

A leader in civic activities and a staunch Republican, the veteran salesman and manufacturer once served as city councilman and had run for mayor of Coshocton on the Republican ticket a number of years ago. He was an active member of the Coshocton Elks lodge.

Mr. Heinke was born in Manitowoc county, Wisconsin, May 4, 1871, a son of Henry H. and Minnie Bornefield-Heinke. His parents died when he was a boy and in his 12th year he started working as a farm hand. Later he became connected with a laundry business. devoting two years to that work.

In 1893 Mr. Heinke took a position as a salesman for a Chicago novelty advertising concern, and after two years with that company accepted a position with the old Tuscarora Advertising Co. of Coshocton {now a part of the American Art Works}. He was placed in charge of the company's northwestern sales division. He remained with the local concern when it merged with the Standard Advertising Co. under the name of Meek and Beach Co., and still later when the business was reorganized under the name of the Meek Co.

In 1908 he was called into the local plant to assume entire charge of the novelty and calendar sales department.

Several years later Mr. Heinke and James Preston, also of this city, formed a partnership and operated the Coshocton Specialty Co. Later Mr. Heinke bought Mr. Preston's interests and operated the concern until it dissolved five years ago.

In 1896 Mr. Heinke was married to August Marie Venneber of Sheboygan, Wis., who survives at the home.

He also leaves three sons, Leland E. Heinke of this city, Edwin C. Heinke of Indianapolis, Indiana, a member of the Indianapolis Times editorial staff, and Carleton H. Heinke of Las Animas, Colorado, and five grandchildren, Lowell Heinke of this city, Edwin Jr., and Gretchen Heinke of Indianapolis, Garry Emerson and Linda Lee Hinks of Las Animas.

The body may be viewed at the Hanlon funeral home, 231 South Sixth st., until Wednesday morning, when it will be taken to the home at 448 Chestnut st., where funeral services will be held at 2:30 Thursday afternoon, conducted by the Elks lodge.

Rev. E. P. Mueller, pastor of Grace Methodist church of this city, and Rev. Lester Norris of Delaware, a nephew of Mrs. Heinke, will officiate. Burial will be in South Lawn cemetery.

Charles City - Funeral services were here Monday for Irving S. Hirsch, 70, former Charles City resident, who died Friday at his home in Sheboygan, Wis.: burial in Riverside cemetery: leaves three children, Kenneth I. Hirsch, Kohler, Wis.; Mrs. Thomas Wolfert and Mrs. Westley Demars, Sheboygan, and eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Jacob Hoelle, 58 passed away Sunday evening at St. Nicholas Hospital at shortly after 7 o�clock, after an illness of several weeks. About a month ago she suffered a stroke of paralysis and was removed from her home to the hospital where her condition grew worse, until death claimed her last night.

The deceased was born September 26, 1862. Her former home was Chicago but she came to this city about 11 years ago from Louisville KY where she had resided for many years previous.

She is survived by her husband, Jacob Hoelle, of this city, five sons, Adolph, Peru ILL, Louis, Louisville, KY, Herman, Jesse, and William of this city, the latter at home, and two daughters Mrs. Herman Loesing and Mrs. Louis Christianson, this city.

The funeral will be held at 2 o�clock Wednesday afternoon from the late residence, 622 Superior avenue, the Rev. E. Raue of the First Presbyterian church officiating. The remains will be buried at Wildwood Cemetery.

A 6-year-old boy drowned in the Sheboygan River late Monday afternoon when he slipped from a boat landing pier in Kiwanis Park.

The body of William Robert Heinemann, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur F. Heinemann Jr., 1720-A Wisconsin Ave., was recovered by coast guardsmen at 7:15 p.m.

The Heinemann boy and two companions, Allan and Howard Sprengle of 1111-A N. 16th St., were playing on the pier when Billy lost his balance and fell off the dock shortly before 5:30 o'clock.

An unidentified 14-year-old boy dove into the water in a rescue attempt, but the child disappeared beneath the surface and the body was swept north by a swift current before settling to the bottom.

Police arrived at the scene minutes later.

Four rowboats - two manned by police officers, one by coast guardsmen, and another by a private boat owner - dragged the river with grappling equipment for almost an hour and a half.

Coast guardsmen used grappling hooks to pull the body from 10 feet of water in a treacherous spot 30 feet north of the pier and about 20 feet offshore.

Resuscitation efforts by a fire department squad were unsuccessful. Firemen applied artificial respiration at the scene for 20 minutes after the body was brought ashore.

It was the second drowning fatality of the season in Sheboygan County.

Billy Heinemann was born in Sheboygan Jan. 21, 1947. He was a pupil in the junior kindergarten at Jefferson School during the past school year.

Survivors, in addition to the parents, are a 20-months-old sister, Betty; the paternal grandfather, Arthur Heinemann Sr., and the maternal grandmother, Mrs. Florence Bruss, all of Sheboygan.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels with the Rev. E.T. Schmidtke, assistant pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the funeral chapels after noon Wednesday.

Funeral services for William R. Heinemann, 6, of 1720 Wisconsin avenue, who died Monday, were held at 3 p.m., Thursday, at the Ballhorn Funeral chapels.

The Rev. E.T. Schmidtke of Immanuel Lutheran Church, officiated, and burial was made in the family lot in Wildwood cemetery.

During the services Mrs. Maurice Schmidt and Mrs. Fred Podlich sang, "In The Garden", and "What God Ordains Is Always Good."

Pallbearers were Frederick Ertel, Norbert Kopke, Richard Miller and Michael Wittkopp.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Ida Hinze, 77, of 1413 Maryland Ave., who died Thursday, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ramm Funeral Home. The Rev. John A. Gerber, pastor of Ebenezer Evangelical and Reformed Church, officiated. Interment was made in the family lot in Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harry Karl, Edgar Burhop, Leslie Hinze, Walter Rust, Theodore Hinze and William Leonard.

Mrs. Albert Herrmann, aged 28, 1118 S. Sixteenth street, died Tuesday noon at the St. Nicholas hospital, following an operation for the relief of gallstones to which she submitted on Saturday.

Mrs. Herrmann, nee Elsie Awe, was born in the town of Newton, Manitowoc county, on October 14, 1902, and passed her girlhood there. She was married to Albert Herrmann of Sheboygan on June 7, 1925, and the couple had been making their home here since that time.

Besides her husband, the survivors are two daughters, her father, Fred Awe of the town of Newton; two sisters, and two brothers.

The funeral will be held at the home, 1118 S. Sixteenth street, Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. The Rev. Father Schiedel of St. Peter Claver church will officiate and burial will be made in Calvary cemetery.

Death in Centerville on Wed. last week of Mrs. Sophie Hinz as a result of grippe.

The deceased, who reached the age of 65 yrs., had lived for over 20 yrs. in Town Centerville.

Burial took place in Sheboygan.

Death today in Town Russell of 68-yr. old Carl Henschel, one of the earliest settlers of that town where he has lived since 1849.

Peter Hauch of Grimms died of consumption at age 47 in St. Nicolaus {sic} Hospital in Sheboygan on Wed. last week. The funeral took place on Fri. in Sheboygan.

Death on Mon. last week in Sheboygan Falls of 75-yr. old Dietrich Hemschemyer, a brother of Fritz Harris and Mrs. E. Holl�nder here.

Death of Mrs. Katharine Hoffmann last Fri. in Sheboygan. The news was brought by her son Philipp Hoffmann. She was one of the oldest settlers of this city, coming to America with her husband Mathias Hoffmann in 1848 and living here unbrokenly except for 2 years ever since. Burial was last Sun. in Sheboygan.

Mrs. Anna Hamm died Wed. morning of pneumonia in the residence of the county school superintendent. She was born in Maine in 1828, came to Sheboygan in 1851 and married there. Following the death of her husband and her two children, Mrs. Hamm moved to Manitowoc and had lived here ever since. Her body will be taken tomorrow morning to Sheboygan for burial.

{From the correspondent in Centerville, Feb. 3}

After a long period of suffering, 78 yr. old Gottfried Hinz died last Wed. of old age. He was a farmer west of here for a long time and then was a resident of the village. The body was taken to Sheboygan on Sat. for a Mon. burial. He leaves a widow {2 other wives predeceased him} and 15 children, the youngest of whom is 18.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday for Mrs. Earl Hall, former Plymouth resident, who died at a Milwaukee hospital on Monday, at 2 o'clock at the Slattery Funeral home in that city.

Mrs. Hall is survived by her husband; two children, Marian and Homer; her father, Jacob Lindsay, and a brother, Stewart Lindsay of this city.

Arwin R. Hartmann, 82, formerly of 2221 Range Line Road, Kohler, died Tuesday evening at Greendale Health Center, where he had lived for 2-1/2 years.

He was born June 23, 1900 in the Town of Rhine, a son of Robert and Augusta Sinner Hartmann. He attended school at Millhome.

His marriage to Frieda Zimmermann took place May 7, 1922, at Schwartzwald in the Town of Herman. The couple farmed in the Town of Meeme and, for 32 years, in the Town of Sheboygan. They also lived in Kiel for a time.

Mr. Hartmann was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Sheboygan.

Surviving are his wife; four sons, two daughters, 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Elmer Hartman of Sheboygan and LeRoy Hartman of the Town of Rhine; two sisters, Mrs. Viola Rietrock of rural Elkhart Lake and Anita Hartmann of Sheboygan.

A grandchild and two sisters preceded him in death.

The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at St. John United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Vernon E. Jaberg, paster officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Funeral services were held Friday from the Meiselwitz Funeral Home for Herbert W. Horneck, 65, who died at St. Agnes hospital, Fond du Lac, October 12. He had been a cheese factory operator at Rhine Center for 41 years.

He was born in Rhine in 1889 and in 1913 married Miss Hildegarde Weidner of Meeme. She died in 1943. In 1947 he married Miss Frieda Kohl of Sheboygan. She survives with two sons, Herbert of Fond du Lac and Norbert of Oshkosh; mother, Mrs. George Horneck of Rhine; two sisters, Mrs. George Breckheimer of Rhine and Mrs. Roland Weidner of Meeme; three brothers, Arno of Milwaukee, LeRoy of Sheboygan, and Francis of Rhine.

Mrs. Viola B. Horneck, 93, a resident of Sunny Ridge, died there Sunday. The former Viola Sixel was born January 21, 1894 in Town of Mosel, a daughter of the late George and Augusta Sixel.

On August 2, 1913 she married Gordon R. Horneck. The couple lived in the Elkhart Lake and Howards Grove area until he died in 1976. She moved to Sheboygan in 1978.

Mrs. Horneck has been employed at Lakeland College and Q's Quarters, Elkhart Lake.

She was a member of St. Mark United Church of Christ and the Ladies' Aid.

She is survived by a son, Earl of Elcho, WI; two daughters, Mrs. Carl {Edna} Richter of Elkhart Lake; Mrs. Edward {Vera} Woepse of Howards Grove; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a brother, Elmer Sixel of Sheboygan. She was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren and a brother.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday at St. Mark U.C.C., with the Rev. William Klossner, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Mark Cemetery.

Marvin C. Hein, 60, of 1422 Roberts Place, Plymouth, died Friday night at Valley View Medical Center, Plymouth, where he had been a patient for one day.

He was born Nov. 13, 1925, in Sherwood, a son of Carl and Marie Nellis Hein. He attended St. John the Baptist School, Plymouth, and Plymouth High School.

On Nov. 20, 1945, he married Lucille Pennell at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

He was employed at Lakeshire Marty Co., at H. G. Weber Co., Kiel, and at Kohler Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1972 due to ill health.

Mr. Hein was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, serving as an usher for many years; was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, and was a member of the Kohler Quarter Century Club.

He was also a member of the Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department for 39 years, and of the Hub City Area Fraternal Order of Eagles, Plymouth, serving as a trustee.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, a son, nine grandchildren; and his parents of New Holstein. He was preceded in death by a sister.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, following family rites at 9:30 a.m. at Wittkopp Funeral Home, Plymouth. The Rev. Wayne Bitner, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Kiel - Mrs. Edward Horneck, 77, a resident of Rockville, Manitowoc county, passed away Wednesday evening at her home following a two-month illness.

Nee Bertha Bub, the deceased was born Oct. 23, 1868, in the town of Rhine, the daughter of of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Bub. She was married to Edward Horneck on Sept. 26, 1886, and with the exception of a few years when they lived in Kiel, the couple spent their entire married life in Rockville.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Peter {Emma} Reineck, Appleton, and Mrs. Arno {Elsie} Schwartz, Milwaukee; three grandchildren and three great -grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church, with the Rev. E. L. Worthman, pastor, officiating. Burial will be made in the Kiel cemetary. Friends may call at the Meiselwitz Funeral home from 3 p.m. Saturday until 11 a.m. Sunday, and will be in state at the church from noon Sunday until the time of services.

Edward P. Horneck, 84 years, native of the town of Rhine, passed away Friday morning at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Arno Schwartz, 5022 W. Burleigh, Milwaukee.

He was born in the town of Rhine on December 15, 1864, and later attended public school in that township. He learned the blacksmith trade at Rhine Center and Plymouth and later operated a blacksmith shop at Rockville. Following his retirement he moved to Kiel.

Mr. Horneck was married to Miss Bertha Bub who preceded him in death in February, 1946. Following her death he made his home with a sister at Elkhart Lake until his recent illness when he moved to Milwaukee to live with a daughter.

The survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Arno Schwartz of Milwaukee and Mrs. Peter Reineck of Appleton; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Nettie Engelmann, Mrs. Emma Roth and Mrs. Bertha Klein and two brothers, George and Robert, all of Elkhart Lake.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church with the Rev. E.L. Worthman officiating. Burial will be made at the Kiel cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Meiselwitz Funeral home from 1 p.m. Sunday to 10 a.m. Monday and at the church from 11 a.m. to the time of services on Monday.

Roger J. Heus, age 69, of New Holstein, died Friday, May 21, 2004, at his home.

He was born March 25, 1935, in Sheboygan, a son of the late Alfred and Esther Thielmann Heus. Roger attended St. Mary�s Catholic Grade School in Marytown. He graduated from New Holstein High School in 1953.

On June 20, 1959, he married Audry Winkel at St. Mary�s Catholic Church in Marytown. Roger had worked for Heus Meter Gas, Depies Oil and had been a sub-jobber for Weber Oil.

He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein and a 50+ year member of the Catholic Family.

He is survived by his wife, Audry of New Holstein; one brother-in-law, and two sisters-in-law. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. The Rev. Frank Weber will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home in New Holstein on Monday, May 24, from 4 until 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 9 until 10 a.m. when brief family rites will be held at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in his name.

Rev. John George Holzapfel, a retired minister of the Evangelical church, died suddenly at his home near the fairgrounds on Wednesday, June 24, at the age of 70 years. He had been in poor health for some time, though it was considered nothing serious and he was about the house as usual until noon on the day that he died. It is supposed that his death was due to a stroke of paralysis. The decedent was born in {Wurtemburg}, Germany, June 9, 1844, and came to the United States when he was 23 years of age as a missionary for the Evangelical church. He settled at Mosel, Wis., where he was assigned a church. This was his first work as a minister in this country. Four years later he was married to Miss Wilhelmina Scholl of Ada, Wis. {at St. John church, Herman Twp., on Oct. 22, 1871}. They resided at Mosel for 25 years. Later they spent three years in Milwaukee and from the latter place they came to this city, where the Rev. Mr. Holzapfel was assigned the Evangelical church, of which he was pastor for six years. Nine years ago he retired from his ministerial life and has since been following farm life. The funeral was conducted Thursday afternoon from the farm home. Rev. Mr. Moeckli of Milwaukee and Rev. R. Romi of this city conducted the funeral service, which was largely attended. Following the service interment took place in Oak Grove cemetery. Surviving are the widow and ten children, besides a large circle of friends and other relatives. The children are Mrs. John Dollhoff {Emilie} of Milwaukee, Mrs. Fred Benz {Alma} of Tomah, Herman of Panama, Miss Frieda, at home, Mrs. George {Emma} Husicker of Milwaukee, John, at home, Mrs. Henry {Amanda Caroline} Blank of Milwaukee, Mrs. Carl {Anna} Benz of LaCrosse, Miss Ada of Waukesha and Miss Ella, at home.

Wilhelmina Scholl Holzapfel was born on Oct. 21, 1853, in Town Rhine, Sheboygan county Wisconsin, {a daughter of Christian and Jacobine Becker Scholl}, and has been a citizen of the United States all of her 96 years. She attended the schools of that section and, at the age of 18, in 1871, she was united in marriage with Rev. John Holzapfel. Ten children were born to this union, five of whom survive. After the marriage, the couple lived at Mosel, Wis., for 24 years. At that time Rev. Holzapfel received a call from Ackerville where the family resided for three years. In 1897 the Holzapfel family came to Tomah, where Rev. Holzapfel served as pastor of the Evangelical church until 1902. Here the deceased spent the remainder of her life, 52 years. During those 52 years the deceased lived in the same home where she passed away on Monday, Dec. 12, 1949. For about 12 years she had been a devoted member of St. Paul�s Lutheran church here, always keenly interested in the congregation, the pastor, and the welfare of the church in general. Following a lingering illness of three months, Mrs. Holzapfel passed away quietly on Monday, Dec. 12, 1949, at the age of 96 years, one month and 22 days. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1914; a daughter, Emma, {Mrs. Hall} in 1929; another daughter, Alma {Mrs. Fred Benz} in 1944; her son, John, July 5, 1949, and her daughter, Millie {Mrs. Dahloff}, July 30, 1949. One grandchild, John Benz, also preceded her in death in 1934. Surviving are her five daughters, Miss Frieda, Tomah, Amanda {Mrs. Harry Blank}, Anna {Mrs. Carl Benz}, Miss Ida Holzapfel and Mrs. Ella Holt, all of Los Angeles, Calif.; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many loving friends. Funeral services were held at the Ninneman Funeral Home here on Dec. 15, 1949, the Rev. H. Schaller officiating. Interment was in the Oak Grove cemetery.

Arthur Heins, 71, brother of the late Rudolph Heins, died at his home in Tigerton Sunday, February 1. He was born and raised in Kiel, and is the last member of the Charles Heins generation.

After }eaving Kiel he went to Elkhart Lake, and finally located at the present city of Tigerton.

Funeral services were held last Wednesday at Tigerton, where burial was also held.

Those attending the funeral from here were Mrs. Rudolph Heins and son Richard; also Miss Gerds Wittmann of Milwaukee, and Mrs. William Kohl of Sheboygan.

Rev. Father Michael Haider, of the Catholic Church of this city, passed away at 11 o'clock Thursday night, at the age of 64 years. His illness, the result of a fall one year ago, has been of about three months duration, incapacitating him for the doing of his pastoral duties, and for some weeks confining him to his bed. He suffered greatly during much of the time, but bore his sufferings with serene courage and fortitude, his thoughts seeming to rest more on the welfare of his large church and congregation than upon himself.

Mr. Haider came to Sheboygan twenty-four years ago, direct from the province of Tyrol, in Germany, and has accomplished a work here in harmonizing discordant elements in the interests under his charge, in building up a large church membership, and erecting one of the largest and most substantial stone church edifices in the west, that few men could have done. He was a man of happy disposition, made friends of all with whom he came in contact, and had the fullest confidence and filial regard of his parishioners. Coming here at the beginning of the war of the rebellion, he warmly sympathized with the Union cause, and the government in its effort to maintain its integrity. The deceased had no relatives in this country, but two sisters are living in Europe. To each of them he left a portion of his property, and the residue to his church. The funeral services will be held at the church at 11 o'clock Monday forenoon.

The Rev. Father Michael Haider of the Catholic Church of this city died at the age of 64 years, Thursday night Feb. 19th, 1885, of inflammation of the bowels. He held his last service at the church Nov. 20th, last, after which time he was confined to the house and bed until death. He suffered severely at times during his sickness, but so devoted was his love for the people of his church that his mind was upon them almost constantly, seeming to trouble him more than his own welfare.

Rev. Father Haider was born Sept. 9th, 1820 at Absem Tyrol, Austria. He studied at Hall, Innsbruck and Brixon Tyrol, and was ordained at Brixon Tyrol in 1845. He served in 1848 as Chaplain in the army during the war between Austria and Italy, and came to America in 1850, being first stationed at East Troy, Jefferson and Madison, until 1862 when he came to Sheboygan where he succeeded the Rev. F. Schraudenbach. His labors during the past twenty-two years in the interests of the church here have met with the most fruitful results. He was the means of swelling the congregation threefold or more, and building one of the largest and most substantial church edifices in the west. While most men would have failed in so great an undertaking, his remarkable perseverance, coupled with the full confidence of his congregation among whom he had wrought the fullest degree of harmony, enabled him to carry out his project, and now, the massive stone church, with its twin spires reaching heavenward, stands, a monument to his memory. In brief, Father Haider was a true gentleman in the broadest sense of the word, dearly loved by his church people, strongly admired and highly esteemed by all who knew him. His body lay in state in the old church, where numerous choice floral tributes were deposited by admiring friends, and hundreds of people visited the place from Friday morning until burial day.

Shortly after 10 o'clock, a procession was formed under the direction of Father Matthew, O.M.C., at the frame church and marched in the following order to the stone edifice, where the funeral service was conducted:

At the church the corpse was placed before the Altar and the clergy offered prayer, the officium. Rev. L. Batz then celebrated the requiem, assisted by Rev. J. Rainer, Rev. Math. M. Gerend, and Rev. T.B. Meyer, after which, Rev. Batz delivered a sermon in German and Rev. Thill in English. The blessing of the corpse followed and the procession again formed and proceeded to the cemetery, about a mile and a half distant, where the final ceremony was conducted by Rev. Math. H. Gerend, the male choir singing an appropriate air. The church contained 2,000 people during the service and it is estimated that about 2,000 attended the funeral, notwithstanding the roads were in poor condition. There were twenty-two clergymen present and had the funeral been a day later, there would have been as many more.

Deceased, who was of very pious Catholic parents, leaves no relatives in this country but three sisters and one brother survive him and reside in Brixon Tyrol, Austria. It is not yet known whom Archbishop Heiss will appoint as Father Haider's successor, but until an appointment is made the Capuchins will conduct the services.

The trustees of the congregation desire to extend their sincere thanks to the community in general for the kind sympathy manifested.

Plymouth Reporter, Feb. 26, 1885, p. 5, c. 3 & 4. The intelligence of the demise of Rev. Michael Haider, which occurred, Thursday evening, spread a pall of gloom over the large Catholic Congregation of Sheboygan. During the long illness extending over a period of three months, the patience and fortitude with which he bore his great suffering were remarkable, and nearly until his voice ceased forever, the numerous friendly visitors were received in the same cheerful loving manner that was inherent with him. When the last moments of earth came he directed to the weeping friends at his bedside, the last requests relating to the final sad rites. Friday, the remains were place in the school building adjoining the priest's residence, remaining there until conveyed to the large church, and during the interval, thousands of people visited the apartment. Monday, the day chosen for the funeral obsequies, many of the leading factories closed and the whole city was in mourning. At the old church a long procession formed, consisting of school pupils, various societies and nineteen visiting clergymen, robed in mourning and chanting hymns for the soul gone on before. When the doors of the great stone cathedral were opened, the vast multitude occupied every available niche, and hundreds were unable to gain admission. The beautiful and impressive ceremonies will ever be remembered by those present. During the service everyone in the congregation was visibly affected. The Rev. Bishop Baats, assistant to Archbishop Heiss, delivered an eloquent discourse in the German language, followed by the pastor of St. Mary's Milwaukee, in English. During the time the sermons were spoken many eyes were dimmed with tears. At the conclusion of the mass, the bells in the tower signaled the formation of the procession, which was one of the largest ever formed in the state. The casket was borne from the hearse to the grave near the centre of the cemetery, by the priests chanting the litany for the dead. The choir joined with solemn hymns, the voices blending in sweet, low tones, amid which one of Christ's most earnest disciples, was lowered to rest. Father Haider was born in the romantic Tyrol district of Germany, sixty-four years ago. He assumed charge of the church here nearly twenty-three years ago, and during the period his history was closely allied to the parish. The school building, the one recently completed, the massive church edifice with the interior decorations - in short, all of the great improvements were inaugurated and completed by him and the sincere respect of all citizens of all denominations was tendered him, throughout his existence. But by those who knew the great-souled priest, who were comforted by his consoling words in the hours of distress and affliction, he will ever be held in remembrance.

The funeral services and burial of Father Michael Haider took place at the Catholic Church on Monday forenoon, as we last week announced that it would. The body had lain in state environed with elegant symbolic floral tributes, since Friday forenoon, in the auditorium of the old church building, where it was visited by many hundreds of people who knew, respected and loved him in life, and now cherished and revered his memory. The rich burial casket nearby was almost embowered in choice flowers, and on a silver plate upon the cover was engraved the following inscription:

Early in the morning the people began to arrive from adjoining towns to attend the funeral, until the number came to be very large. On the 9:55 Lake Shore express train from Milwaukee, there came a large delegation of priests and church officials from other portions of the state to assist in the performance of the burial rites. The procession was formed at the old church, but it was nearly 11 o'clock before it started for the large stone church where the services were had. The procession contained nearly one thousand persons in the following order:

It was supposed that not near all present would be able to get inside the church, the doors of which were not opened until the procession arrived and was ready to enter, it being first admitted. But it proved differently, and all who desired to got inside, though scores had to stand throughout the services, there being about 2000 persons in the building.

Monsignor Batz was the leading official, and began the services by offering with the clergy the prayer for the dead, the officium. He then celebrated the requiem assisted by Rev. J. Rainer as Deacon, Rev. M.M. Gerend as Sub Deacon, and Rev. T.B. Meyer as Master of Ceremonies. The singing portion of the services was excellently given by the Male Choir in the gallery, with accompaniment from the organ. A brief address in German was given by Vicar General Batz, followed by one in English by Rev. Father Thill, in which the good works and merits of the deceased and the spirit in which he labored were set forth as worthy of veneration and imitation.

About 1 o'clock the procession was formed and proceeded to the Catholic cemetery, over a mile distant, where all of earth of the deceased was laid away for final rest, as he desired, in the midst of those of his congregation who have gone before.

It is reported that Rev. Dominick Thill, of Milwaukee, is to be Father Haider's successor, although we are not advised that the appointment has been actually made.

Anton Haensgen, aged 65, employed by Sheboygan county as assistant to Junior Feldmann, caretaker at the Sheboygan Marsh, was gored to death by the 5-year-old buck deer at the marsh park late last Wednesday evening.

Mr. Haensgen passed away at St. Nicholas hospital in Sheboygan at about two o�clock the next morning of injuries received when the buck gored and trampled on him at feeding time about 5 p. m. Wednesday. He suffered a crushed chest and internal injuries. Practically his entire body showed marks where the deer had gored him and struck at him with its sharp hoofs.

Mr. Feldmann had gone to Elkhart Lake to call for the mail and when he returned at about 5:30 p. m., in the company of Merton Phelps, they heard Mr. Haensgen crying for help.

They rushed to the deer pen and found the elderly man being trampled on by the enraged deer. They drove off the deer and succeeded in getting Mr. Haensgen out of the yard. He was removed to the hospital in the Kiel ambulance. Mr. Haensgen was a bachelor.

Funeral services for Anton Haensgen, 65, who was gored to death Wednesday by an enraged buck deer at the Sheboygan County Marsh, will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday at the Erbe-Hoffman Funeral home at Chilton. Burial will be made in Hillside cemetery.

The son of Joseph and Anna Haensgen, the deceased was born July 14, 1882, at Fond du Lac. He was employed as assistant caretaker at the marsh park.

Survivors include seven sisters, Mrs. Mary Zarnoth, Chilton; Miss Bertha Haensgen, Fond du Lac; Mrs. Rose Berenz, Mt. Calvary; Mrs. Ida Bargenquast, Abbotsford, Wis.; Mrs. Pauline Wassermann, Racine; Mrs. Francis Elmergreen, Stockbridge and Mrs. Anna Pfeiffer, Milwaukee, and five brothers, John, New Holstein; Peter, Fort Atkinson; Michael in South Dakota; Joseph, South Milwaukee, and Henry in Calfornia.

Mrs. Mary Henke, aged 75, widow of the late Robert Henke, passed away at her home in Sheboygan Monday afternoon after a lingering illness.

Mrs. Menke{sic} was born May 5, 1865 in St. Anna, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nic. Dickrell. She lived at St. Anna until her marriage to Mr. Henke, when they moved to this city. Twenty years ago they moved to Sheboygan and have made their home there since.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. John {Cecelia} Wismeth, Elizabeth Henke and Mrs. Paul {Katherine} Glaeser, all of Sheboygan; one son, Joseph also of Sheboygan; a brother, Joseph Dickrell of Milwaukee; a sister, Mrs. Anna Michels of Shehoygan; four grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Augusta Conrad, and her husband preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held this Friday at 8:30 a. m. at the Henke residence and at 9 a. m. with a requiem mass at Holy Name church. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Philip Dries will officiate and interment will be made in the family lot in Calvary cemetery.

Mrs. L. P. Fox received word Sunday of the death of her brother, the Rev. Nicholas Hanert, who died at his home at Wisconsin Dells at 2:35 p.m Sunday. He had been in failing health for a number of years and seriously sick for the past year. He had suffered several paralytic strokes.

Father Hanert was born in the town of Russell, Sheboygan county, in 1870, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hanert. He attended the parochial and public schools in that community, Chilton high school, St. Lawrence college at Mt. Calvary and St. Francis Seminary at St. Francis, Wis., where he finished his studies for the priesthood. He was ordained by Archbishop F. X. Katzer at St. Francis in June 1897, and read his first mass at St. Ann's church, St. Ann. He served as assistant pastor in Jefferson for a year and one year at Kenosha before being assigned a pastorate at Bloomington, Wis. where he remained for five years. He was at Dotyville for three years when he was transferred to St. Cecilia's parish in Wisconsin Dells where he has been for the past thirty-one years.

The funeral mass was said at St. Cecilia's church, Wisconsin Dells, at 10 a. m. Wednesday after which the body was brought to St. Ann where interment was in the St. Ann cemetery.

Father Hanert is survived by two brothers, J. B. Hanert, Kiel; and John Hanert, Milwaukee; four sisters, Mrs. Jacob Mertens, Kiel; Mrs. Peter Westenberger, Sherwood; Mrs. Henry Rach, St. Ann; and Mrs. L. P. Fox.

Father Hanert's outstanding characteristics were his executive ability, his kindness and consideration for the sick and unfortunate, especially those of his parish, and his charity to the poor.

Calvin Helming, 42, well known Plymouth automobile dealer, died at 10:30 a.m. today at the Plymouth hospital, following an operation to which he submitted this morning. Mr. Helming�s unexpected death came as a great shock to members of the family and his many friends. Mr. Helming was in partnership with Victor F. Wernecke in the H. W. Motor Sales company at Plymouth prior to which he was associated with his brothers, Gustave and Albert Helming of the Helming Bros. garage in this city.

Mr. Helming, the youngest of the three brothers, was born Nov. 30, 1890, near the Mission House in the town of Herman, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Helming, early residents of that community. His mother died when he was five years of age. He received a common school education and later operated the homestead farm until 1919, when he joined his brothers in the Helming Bros. garage where he apprenticed in servicing cars, following which he engaged in the sales operation of the business. On August 1, 1924 Messrs. Helming and Wernecke became associated in business under the firm name of the H-W Motor Sales company, going to Plymouth where they purchased the business of the Badger Auto Sales company, who had the agency of the Chevrolet cars. In 1930 the company erected a handsome new building necessitated by the great growth of their business.

His marriage to Miss Esther Scheib of Franklin took place on Oct. 17, 1925. The couple have two sons, Alvin, Jr., 6, and Roger, 4. Other survivors include the two brothers, Albert and Gustave, of this city and two sisters, Mrs. William Wernecke and Mrs. Fred Reineking, both of Town Herman. Mr. Helming�s father died August 16, 1916.

Mr. Helming was well known throughout the county and had a host of friends who will be deeply moved to learn of his death. Possessing a pleasant disposition he was quick to make friends and had the added asset of an ability to keep them.

He was a member of the Plymouth Reformed church and of the Brotherhood of Andrew and Philip.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o�clock at the Wittkopp Funeral Home and at 2 o�clock at the Plymouth Reformed church. The Rev. Herman Schmid will officiate and burial will be made in the Immanuel church cemetery in the town of Herman. Friends may view the remains Friday afternoon and evening and Saturday until the time of the funeral.

Mrs. Raymond Henning, aged 29, passed away early last Wednesday morning at the St. Nicholas hospital in Sheboygan, after a week�s illness.

Mrs. Henning, nee Pearl Horneck, was born April 12, 1914 in the town of Herman, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Horneck of that township.

She attended the Millersville school and was confirmed April 1, 1928 by the Rev. Henry Vriesen. She was united in marriage with Raymon Henning, son of Rudolph Henning on June 5, 1937, and since that time the young couple made their home on Kiel R. 2.

Survivors are her husband; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Horbeck; one brother, Cyril Horneck of Sheboygan, and a grandmother, Fredericka Goedeke of the town of Herman. Mrs. Henning was a leader of the 4-H Club at Millersville.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o�clock at the Walter H. Ahrens Funeral Home in Howards Grove, with the Rev. Henry Vriesen and Rev. August Hammann officiating. Burial was made in the Wildwood cemetery. Pallbearers were Lester Schnell, Edgar Henning, Palmer Lindow, Earl Horneck, Victor Bramstedt and Ralph Sixel. At the funeral home a quartet from the Saron Reformed church sang two hymns, �Lang Es Thal der Todesspatten� and �Have Thine Own Way Lord.�

Charles Hein of Plymouth, a former resident of this city, passed away at his home on Monday, after an illness of several days� duration.

Mr. Hein was born in Plymouth February 23, 1871, the son of the late August and Mary Hein. He was married to Elizabeth Kleifisch on November 3, 1897. After their marriage they located here for some time, but about 25 years ago returned to Plymouth.

Mr. Hein is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. Joseph Daul of Sheboygan; Mrs. Ed. Laack, Mrs. Walter Dedow, Mrs. Albert Hahn, Alfred Hein and Gilbert Hein, all of Plymouth. The Laack family resided here several years ago.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at the Hein home at 9 a. m. and at the St. John�s Catholic church at 9:30 a. m. The Rev. A. J. July will officiate and burial will be made in the Catholic cemetery at Plymouth.

Departed This Life Last Thursday After Lingering Illness. At the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Meyer, residing on Fourth street, their daughter Mrs. Anna Hauser, wife of Rev. Caleb Hauser, of the town of Centerville, was called by death on Thursday morning, October 10th, after a lingering illness due to heart and liver disease, accompanied by other complications.

The deceased was born in the town of Meeme, April 26th, 1884, where she {torn paper} womanhood. She was married to Rev. Caleb Hauser Nov. 15, 1900. The union was blessed with four children, two sons, who died in infancy, and two daughter, Theodora and Evelyn. She leaves her husband, two daughters; her parents, two brothers and a twin sister, Mrs. Edwin A. Thieleke. The funeral services were held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Meyer, Rev. Arpke of Chilton officiating. Interment was made in the Wildwood cemetery at Sheboygan, the services there being conducted by Rev. Horstmeier.

Rev. Hauser was formerly pastor of the Bethlehem congregation in the town of Schleswig, removing to the town of Centerville a few years ago, where he had charge of two congregations. His friends in this neighborhood extend their sincerest sympathies in his bereavement.

The people of the surrounding community were shocked on Tuesday when they heard that Grover Horneck, a farmer residing in the town of Schleswig, had committed suicide by hanging himself in the barn at his home. His body was found at about nine o�clock that morning.

Mr. Horneck was born in the town of Rhine on Aug. 13, 1885, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred. Horneck. His marriage to Miss Anna Schmidt took place on Feb. 20, 1909, at which time the couple moved to New Holstein.

After a few years Mr. Horneck purchased a farm in Schwarzwald where the family lived for some years. After disposing of his property there he located in Schleswig, and was a resident in that town up to the present time. The survivors are his wife, one son and two daughters, at home; his father and stepmother of Plymouth; two brothers, Walter of Rhine Center and Norman of Sheboygan; three sisters, Mrs. Frieda Heidemann of Schleswig, Laura of Kiel, and Mrs. Anita Schierstedt of near Plymouth.

Funeral services will be held Friday from the farm home at 1:30 to the Rhine Center church. Rev. Thomas will be in charge.

Dr. Louis Harder, 77, retired dentist died at the Plymouth hospital Sunday night. He was a native of New Holstein and was the only member of the graduating class of 1895, Kiel high school. He retired from dental practice about three years ago. He had made his home with a sister, Mrs. Adela Witt since his wife died in 1947. Funeral services were held yesterday, Wednesday, at New Holstein.

Henry Hoppe, 81, of the Town of Meeme died early today at his R. 1, Cleveland home.

Born Nov. 5, 1889 in Reinwald, Russia, he was a son of the late Christian and Helena Hoppe. He came to the United States when 18 and located in the Town of Herman.

On May 14, 1921, he married the former Jennie Schreiber of Meeme at St. John United Church of Christ, Schwartzwald.

The couple located in Meeme and Mr. Hoppe was employed by Fred Ehnert in Kiel. Since 1947 the couple operated a small farm in Meeme.

He was a member of St. John-UCC, Schwartzwald, and taught Sunday School for 12 years.

Survivors are his wife: a son of Howards Grove-Millersville, and two grand-children.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at St. John UCC, the Rev. Dean Miller, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, from 4 p.m. Friday until 11 a.m. Saturday and at the church from noon until the hour of services.

A memorial for the church has been established in Mr. Hoppe�s name.

Relatives and friends were shocked on Saturday morning when they learned of the death of William Hahn, Sr., aged 77, who had passed away that morning at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Prueter of Rockville, where he had made his home for the past seven years. Death occourred while Mr. Hahn was having breakfast.

Mr. Hahn was born in the town of Meeme on March 28th, 1858, and on November 7, 1886, he was united in marriage with Miss Wilhelmina Papendleck, also of that township. The couple located on a farm near Schwarzwald, where they resided for several years. For four years the Hahn family made their home at Ada, and in 1907 moved onto a farm east of this city, where Mrs. Hahn passed away in 1916.

Survivors are three children namely: Mrs. Herman {Ella} Jaschob of Suring, Mrs. Fred {Hilda} Prueter of Rockville, and William Hahn, Jr. of Black Creek. Also seven grandchildren: three sisters, Mrs. Herman Bratz and Mrs. Louis Kuhn of the town of Herman, and Miss Christina Hahn of near Edwards, and three brothers, Carl of New London, Herman of Sheboygan, and Valentine of near Edwards also survive. A son passed away in his youth.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon from the Prueter home at one o'clock and at 2 o'clock services were held at the Evangelical church in Schwarzwald. The Rev. William Schultz officiated and burial was made in the adjoining church cemetery. The pallbearers were the following nephews of the deceased: Hiran Hahn, Nettgar Hahn, Harvey Hahn, Arthur Hahn, Ronald Kuhn and Nelson Kuhn.

Charles E. Henschel, aged 59, well-known resident of this city, passed away at the Plymouth hospital on Saturday evening at 10 o'clock, after being a patient there since February 21st, and having undergone a serious operation from which he never recovered. Mr. Henschel, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Henschel, Sr., was born on a farm in the town of Russell on June 5, 1873. He was married to Miss Annie Voland of Kiel on November 28th, 1899, locating here, where Mr. Henschel was employed at the Kiel Furniture factory for eighteen years.

In 1920 the Henschel family moved onto a farm near Crystal Lake, residing on the same for three years, when they again returned to Kiel. The deceased was also employed for many years at the Rudolph Greve Hardware Co. and at the Stoelting Bros. Co. plant.

Four children were born to the couple, of whom one daughter, Leona, died at the age of one year. Survivors are: His wife and three children, as follows: Mrs. Arthur Vorphal of near here, Alwin at home, and Gilbert of this city; four grandchildren; five brothers - Louis Henschel of New Holstein, Philip Henschel of Elkhart Lake, George and Jacob Henschel of this city, and Adam Henschel of Milwaukee, and three sisters - Mrs. Ida Mathes and Mrs. John Rochlus of this city, and Mrs. Jacob Rochlus of Milwaukee.

The body was taken to the family residence Monday afternoon at three o'clock, where funeral services were held at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, followed by services at the St. Peter Reformed church at 2 o'clock. The Rev. E. L. Worthman officiated, and burial was made in the Kiel cemetery in the family lot. Nephews of the deceased acted as pallbearers: Eldred P. Voland, Harold Voland, Earl Voland, Anthony Rochlus, Willard Schnurr, and Howard Schueler. The Senior Choir rendered the following songs at the church: "Naeher mein Gott zu Dir," " Christus der ist mein Leben," and "Auf wieder sehen."

Mrs. Katherine Horneck, nee Hartman, died at the home of her son Julius Horneck, in the Town of Rhine, on Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Horneck's death came after but a few days illness. She was active and in good health up to the day preceding her death and reached the ripe old age of 86 years, 11 months and 12 days. Mrs. Horneck was born July 6, 1835, in Bebelheim, Hessen-Darmstate, Germany.

She came to the town of Rhine at the age of 13 years and was united in marriage to Philip Horneck, January 1, 1854, who died on May 11, 1907. When Mr. and Mrs. Horneck settled in the town of Rhine it was but a wilderness. They cleared the land and with a large family growing up enjoyed the fruits of their toils and went through many a hardship in their earlier days, never discouraged but always in good spirits and kindest of feeling towards all who came in contact with them; and were so endeared to the people of the town of Rhine that their advice was often sought in private as well as in many other matters that came up in then the pioneer days.

The survivors are 11 children, 54 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren. The children are Fred. Horneck, Plymouth; Mrs. Peter Reineck, Town Rhine; George Horneck, Elkhart Lake; Henry Horneck, Town Rhine; Mrs. Martin Bethke, Elkhart Lake, Edward Horneck.

Miss Elizabeth S. Henke, 63, of 1911 N. 10th St., died Saturday night at St. Nicholas Hospital following a brief illness.

Born April 1, 1900 in Kiel, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Mary Henke. She attended Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School there and came with her family to Sheboygan in 1923.

She was employed as a saleslady by the J. C. Penney Co. here for 22 years. She was a member of the Holy Name Parish, and St. Ann Christian Mothers and Altar Society, the Apostolate of Suffering and the Third Order of St. Francis which she served as president.

Harry Holzschuh, 71, a former resident Chilton, died last week Thursday night at St. Nicholas Hospital, Sheboygan, where he had been a patient for two days.

He lived at Sunny Ridge the past two years.

Born on September 9, 1902, at St. Nazianz, a son of the late John and Concessa Becker Holzschuh, he attended St. Gregory Catholic School, St. Nazianz.

Following his marriage to the former Sara Miller, he and his wife lived in Chilton where he was self-employed.

Mr. Holzschuh was a member of St. George Catholic Church, Elkhart Lake.

Survivors include a brother John of Spencer, Wisconsin, and a sister Mrs. Agnes Scheply of Redwood City, California.

Funeral services were held Monday at St. George Church in Elkhart Lake following brief family rites at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel. The Reverend George Myszel, pastor, was celebrant of the requiem Mass. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery at Chilton.

Ralph E. Hobbs, 82, formerly of Six Corners in Sheboygan Falls and most recently resided at Morningside Health Center in Sheboygan, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2005.

Ralph was born Feb. 4, 1923 in Mendon, Ill., to Edgar and Martha {Hawe} Hobbs. He attended school in Ewing, Mo. Ralph proudly served his country during World War II aboard the USS Massachusetts in the Pacific theatre. On May 25, 1945 he married Clara Rhines in Sheboygan Falls. They attended St. George Catholic Church and were members of Blessed Trinity Parish. During his lifetime, Ralph built three of his own homes in the Sheboygan area and a cottage in Oconto Falls. He worked as a mason, spent some time as a contractor during the '50s, was a foundry worker at Kohler, and also at the former Medalist State Foundry until his retirement in 1988, when it was known as Willman Industries. He had been a member of their Quarter Century Club. After retirement he worked part time for Trimberger's mink ranch and picked apples for Waldo Orchard. Ralph enjoyed gardening and his home at Six Corners was well known for its plant and vegetable stands.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 21 at 11 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Parish, St. George Site at Six Corners, with the Rev. Eugene Neuman, officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Friday, May 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. A prayer vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday. Clara M. Hobbs, 78, of 6939 County Road A, Sheboygan Falls, {Town of Wilson} died at her home on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 13, 2004.

Clara was born in Sheboygan Falls on Feb. 6, 1926, the daughter of the late James and Martha {Kachur} Rhines. She graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1944. On May 25, 1945, she married Ralph Hobbs in Sheboygan Falls. Clara worked at Trimberger Mink Ranch for many years.

Clara was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls, and was a past member of St. George Catholic Church Christian Mothers and sang in the church choir. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed flowers, quilting and knitted hundreds of sweaters.

Mrs. Hildegarde Horneck, 50, wife of Herbert Horneck, passed away at her home in the town of Rhine at 11 a.m. Friday after a lingering illness.

Mrs. Horneck was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morritz Weidner, and was born December 9, 1892, in the town of Meeme. She was married to Herbert Horneck on October 30, 1913, and they located on the present farm in town Rhine.

Survivors are her husband; two sons, Dr. Herbert Horneck at home and 1st Lieut. Norbert Horneck on foreign duty; and a brother Roland Weidner of town Meeme.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Walter H. Ahrens funeral home at Howards Grove with the Rev. Paul Thomas of St. Peter's Evangelical church in the town of Rhine officiating. Burial will be made in Wildwood cemetery, Sheboygan. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning Sunday afternoon.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hildegarde Horneck, wife of Herbert Horneck, well known cheesemaker of Rhine Center, who died Friday at her home were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Walter H. Ahrens Funeral home at Howards Grove. The Rev. Paul Thomas of St. Peter's Evangelical church of town Rhine officiated and burial was made in Wildwood cemetery, Sheboygan.

During the services Mrs. O. Rawlands sang "Some Day Somewhere" and "Gone Our Dearly Beloved". Mrs. W. Metze accompanied at the organ.

Pallbearers were Raymond, Theodore and Harry Kohl, William Wagner, George Bauer and Arthur Raeder.

During the time the body lay in state at the funeral home a great many friends and relatives paid their last respects. There were many beautiful flowers surrounding the casket and the funeral home was filled to capacity during the services.

Mrs. Horneck had a kind and loving disposition and was well liked by every one. Friends and relatives from Marshfield, Milwaukee and the surrounding community attended the services.

Eleanor Hartman aged 10 years died at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Hartman, 718 Ontario Ave., at 11 o'clock this morning of typhoid fever. She was born in this city Dec. 24, 1899.

She attended the Second Ward school regularly up to about three months ago when she was first taken sick. Besides her parents she is survived by the following three sisters and two brothers all of this city, Louise, Annie, Marnie, Bruno and Alfred Hartman.

The funeral will be held from her late home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

Paul Hess died Thursday, Feb. 10, at his home, 1608 Superior avenue, of typhoid fever, aged nearly 62 years. The deceased was born in Bavaria, Mch. 5, 1848 and was united in marriage to Margaret Fuerst in May 1878. They came to America and Sheboygan in 1883. He is survived by his wife and five children as follows: George J., Leonard F., Joseph A. and John of Sheboygan, and Michael of Riverside. The funeral took place Saturday morning at the church of the Holy Name.

Mr. A.D. Huson an old soldier and a resident of the town of Lima died this week. He was well known throughout this section of the country.

Dr. F.H. Hand, Madison, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hand of Plymouth, died Tuesday in a Madison hospital following surgery. He had suffered a stroke earlier. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Blessed Sacrament Church in Madison. Survivors are his wife, the former Mary Baker; three daughters, Mrs. William {Joanne} Herr of Lake Mills, Wis., Mrs. John {Mary Ann} Smilanich of Texas, Miss Frances Hand at home; two sons, Michael and John at home, and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Meyer of Elkhart Lake and Mrs. Anna Cain of Glenbeulah. A dentist, Dr. Hand was about 60.

Sioux City, Iowa � Mrs. Mary C. Hand, age 78, a former resident of Madison, now residing in Sioux City, Iowa, died in a hospital in Sioux City, on October 14, 1983. She was the former Mary C. Baker, born October 3, 1905, in St. Cloud Wisconsin. She married Dr. Francis Hand in Armstrong, Wisconsin. He died on March 15, 1960, in Madison. Mrs. Hand was the former manager of the women�s wear department of the Olson-Veerhusen clothing store in Madison, retiring in 1971. She was Madison resident from 1930 to 1971, when she moved to Sioux City, Iowa. Mrs. Hand was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Madison, the Nativity Church in Sioux City, Iowa, and also a member of Altrusa International. She is survived by two sons, Michael J. of Sioux City and John P. of Minneapolis, Minnesota; three daughters, Mrs. William {Joann} Herr of Toledo, Ohio, Mrs. John {Mary Ann} Smilanich of Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Roger {Fran} Rumble of Minnetonka, Minnesota; a brother, Jack Baker of Plymouth, Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 17, at the Nativity Church in Sioux City, Iowa. Reverend Robert W. Gralapp will officiate. A scripture services was held at 8 p.m. on Sunday evening at the Larkin Funeral Home in Sioux City. Graveside services will be held in Madison, at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 1983, at Resurrection Cemetery Chapel.

Mrs. Frank hall, aged 59 yars, succumbed to heart failure last Friday evening and passed away at the home of her brother {sic: son}, Bruce Hall, town of Greenbush. The funeral was held at 12:30 o�clock today at the residence and at 2 o�clock at the Methodist Episcopal church at Greenbush, Rev. R. Bailey, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial was made in the Greenbush cemetery.

Mrs. Hall�s maiden name was Myra C. Mansfield. She was born in the town of Greenbush on january 15, 1856 and had always lived there. On January 15, 1875 she was married to Frank Hall. She is survived by three sons, Wyman, of Hammond, Elmer, of Minneapolis, Minn., and Bruce, town of Greenbush, also four grandchildren.

Greenbush - A former resident of Greenbush, and a son of two pioneer residents in years back, Oscar Hall, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Hall died at the age of about sixty years in the town of Rhine, where he was working, on Wednesday, of acute appendicities. The remains were brought to Greenbush cemetery on Friday afternoon, where a short service was held by Rev. Olsen. Mr. Hall is survived by one brother, James Hall. Bruce Hall of the town of Greenbush is a nephew. He was born in the town of Greenbush and was a cheesemaker by trade.

Mrs. E.C. Hoyer, 84, of 2722 N. 10th St., died Friday morning at Morningside Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

The former Lillian Maersch was born Jan 22, 1895, in Sheboygan, a daughter of Jacob and Anna Zeller Maersch. She attended Holy Name School and Sheboygan Business College.

In 1910, she became the private secretary for H.C. Prange.

On July 1, 1926, she married E.C. Hoyer at Holy Name Catholic Church. He is the retired merchandise manager and a former vice president for the H.C. Prange Co.

Mrs. Hoyer was a member of the Sheboygan Woman's Club and the Catholic Woman's Charity Club, Pine Hills Country Club and St. Dominic Catholic Church.

Survivors are her husband and five sisters, Mrs. Ann Mueller, Mrs. Edward Lamb and Mrs. Claude Clanderman, all of Sheboygan, Sister M. Adelia, OSF, of Springfield, Ill and Mrs. Lucy Hall of Hawthorn, Calif.

A sister, Miss Frances Maersch of Sheboygan, died within a few hours of Mrs. Hoyer's death Friday. A brother and three other sisters preceded her in death.

The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Dominic Catholic Church with the Rev. John Thiesen, pastor, as celebrant. Private burial rites will be conducted in Calvary Cemetery.

There will be no visitation at the Nickel-Lippert Funeral Home.

A memorial fund has been established in Mrs. Hoyer's name for St. Dominic Parish.

A funeral Mass for E.C. Hoyer, 91, of 2722 N. 10th St., who died at his home Monday, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Dominic Catholic Church. The Rev. John Thiesen, pastor, will be celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.

Mr. Hoyer was born October 22, 1891 in Sheboygan. On July 1, 1936, he married Lillian Maersch. Mrs. Hoyer died April 13, 1979.

Mr. Hoyer was vice president of H.C. Prange Co. at the time of his retirement in 1968. He had worked for the company in Sheboygan for 48 years.

He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church. Mr. Hoyer was a charter member of Sheboygan Kiwanis Club.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Ellen Johnson of San Mateo, Calif., Mrs. Amanda Neubert of Sheboygan and Mrs. Evelyn Byrum of Kohler.

A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Hoyer's name.

Plymouth - Sorrow came to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hahn last Friday morning when their little three year old daughter passed away. The funeral service was last Sunday at 12:30 o'clock.

Arthur W. Hahn, 78, of 79 Wisconsin St., Sheboygan Falls, a well-known retired Town of Falls farmer, died at 5:30 p.m. Friday at St. Nicholas Hospital following a long illness.

Born Aug. 23, 1883 in the Town of Sheboygan Falls, he was a son of the late August and Christine Hahn. He was married to Miss Ida Fenner of the Town of Falls on Feb. 13, 1907. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1957.

Following his marriage he operated a cheese factory in the Town of Sheboygan Falls for more than 20 years before he began farming in 1930. He operated the farm until his retirement in 1958.

Mr. Hahn was a director of the Sheboygan Falls Co-op for 25 years and served the Town of Sheboygan Falls as treasurer for several years.

Survivors besides his wife, Ida, are two sons, ... one daughter ... and two brothers.

He was preceded in death by two daughters {Nelda}, two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Dean Funeral Home in Falls with the Rev. Ernst Gander, pastor of the Plank Road Salem Evangelical and Reformed Church, officiating. Burial will be in Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 p.m. Sunday until the time of services.

Frederick W. Haack, 46, of Route 4, N. 37th St., died early today at St. Nicholas Hospital.

Born in Sheboygan Feb. 10, 1907, a son of the late William and Amalia Haack, he attended Franklin School and was confirmed at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in 1921.

A carpenter his entire life, Mr. Haack was employed by the Earl Construction Co. for the past five years. He was unmarried.

Survivors are four sisters, Mrs. Arthur Oldenburg, Mrs. Otto Wesener, Mrs. Martin Zitnik and Mrs. Ewald Schildbach, all of Sheboygan, and three brothers, William of Plymouth, Arthur of Manitowoc, and Walter of Sheboygan.

In addition to his parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Ramm Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond Meyer, pastor of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be made in the family lot in Lutheran Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the funeral home after noon Sunday.

Plymouth - Funeral services for Miss Catherine Helf, 66, who passed away in Milwaukee on Friday, were conducted Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock at the Gentine Funeral home and at 10 o'clock at the St. John the Baptist Catholic church in this city. The Rev. Msgr Sebastian Bernard of the St. Michael's church, Milwaukee, was the celebrant at the solemn requiem high mass. He was assisted by the Rev. George Weix, St. Joseph's church, Wautoma, as deacon, the Rev. A. J. July of the local church was sub-deacon, and the Rev. William Huemmer also of here as the master of ceremonies. The Rev. July officiated at the burial services in the St. John's Catholic cemetery.

The pallbearers were Bernard Klunke, Forrest Pearce, Gerald Helf, Jerome Helf, George Froming and Joseph Gilles.

Mrs. Mathilda Heinzen, wife of John Heinzen, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Koerner, 2425 N. Tenth street, at 1:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon, following a lingering illness.

Mrs. Heinzen was born in town of Wilson Nov. 10, 1860, and was married to Frank Kellner in 1886. He preceded her in death 25 years ago. On April 24, 1916, she was united in marriage to John Heinzen, who with 11 children, survives her.

They are: Mrs. Ella Ploetz, Mrs. Arthur Koerner, William Kellner, Ben Heinzen and Mrs. Alfred Kraus, all of Sheboygan; A.C. Heinzen and J.J. Heinzen, Jr., Wausau; Frank Heinzen, St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Anna Raih, Milwaukee; Mrs. Bernard Staib, Chicago, and Mrs. John J. Smith, Chicago Heights. There are also 38 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren three sisters, Mrs. Anton Schmirler, Edgar, Wis., Mrs. Henry Siegworth and Mrs. Caroline Opgenorth, this city, and three brothers, William and Albert Gartman, this city, and Ferdinand Gartman, Wausau.

Mrs. Heinzen was a member of St. Ann's society of Holy Name church. She was a home-loving wife and mother, greatly devoted to her family and church. She enjoyed a large acquaintance and many friends.

The body has been taken to the Robert H. Kroos Funeral Home where services will be held Monday morning at 8:30 o'clock, and at 9 o'clock at Holy Name church. The Rev. Philipp Dreis will officiate and burial will be made in Calvary cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. John Heinzen, who died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Koener, 2425 N. Tenth street, Thursday afternoon, were held this morning at 8:30 o'clock at the Robert H. Kroos Funeral Home and at 9 o'clock at Holy Name church. The Rev. Philipp Dreis officiated and burial was made in Calvary cemetery.

John Heinzen, formerly of Sheboygan, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. B.G. Staib, in Chicago, Monday evening at the age of 84.

Born in Manitowoc, Feb. 20, 1858, he attended parochial school there, coming to Sheboygan at the age of 18 with his parents. He was married here to Miss Barbara Buettner on May 6, 1878, by the late Father Halder, and the couple made their home in Sheboygan. His wife passed away March 17, 1915, and on April 23, 1916, he was married to Miss (sic) Mathilda Kellner, who preceded him in death, Aug. 4, 1932. Since the death of his second wife, he had made his home with his children.

For 46 years Mr. Heinzen was stationary engineer at the American Hide and Leather company, retiring at the age of 65. He was a member of the N.A.S.E. and the Holy Name society of Holy Name church.

Surviving are three sons, John Heinzen, Jr., of Wausau, Frank of Minneapolis, and Benjamin of Sheboygan; three daughters, Mrs. B.G. Staib of Chicago, Mrs. John J. Smith of Chicago Heights, and Mrs. Alfred Krause, Sheboygan; 27 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Schermeister and Mrs. Lena Freiherr, Sheboygan; and Mrs. Paul Ploetz, Mrs. Arthur Koerner, and Mrs. (sic, Mr.) William Kellner, children of his second wife.

The body was brought to the Ramm Funeral home for funeral services to be held there at 8:30 Thursday morning and at 9 o'clock in Holy Name church. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Philipp Dreis will officiate, with burial in Calvary cemetery.

Mrs. Margaret Harper, 75, died suddenly Friday evening at her home, 507 New York Ave.

A life-long resident of Sheboygan County, she was born Aug. 22, 1876, at Greenbush, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Hazen. She had made her home in Sheboygan the past year.

Only immediate survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Joan) Parsons, Dayton, Ohio, and a son, Theodore, Sheboygan.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, at the Ballhorn Funeral chapels. The Rev. Kenneth Krueger, pastor of the First United Brethren Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Wildwood.

The body will lie in state in the funeral chapels after 7 p.m. Sunday.

Mrs. Louis Hoppe died Oct. 1, at her home on the upper Falls road, near Sheboygan from a stroke of paralysis.

The deceased was born March 16, 1836, in Germany. She is survived by her husband and two sons. Rev. Wol�echt of Trinity Lutheran church officiated at the funeral and interment was in Wildwood cemetery.

Mrs. Henry Herbst, wife of the chairman of the town of Wilson, died at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Herbst home on Highway 141, south of Sheboygan. She was fifty-six years old.

Mrs. Herbst, whose maiden name was Emma Jankow, was born on Jan. 5, 1872, in the town of Wilson and all her life was spent on a farm in that town. She was married to Henry Herbst on Oct. 26, 1898. As a member of the county board and town chairman, Mr. Herbst is exceptionally active in civic affairs and both he and his wife have made many friends throughout the county.

Those surviving Mrs. Herbst are her husband, four daughters, Mrs. Adolph Gartman of this city, and Mamie, Mabel and Ellen at home, four sons, Harry Herbst of this city, and Melvin, Chester and Henry, Jr., at home, one grandchild, two sisters, Miss Amelia Jankow and Mrs. Hugo Gartman, and three brothers, William, Charles and George Jankow, all of the town of Wilson.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the home by the Rev. Paul Grosshuesch, pastor of Zion Reformed church. Burial will be at the Flader Rest cemetery in the Town of Wilson.

The funeral of Mrs. Henry Herbst, wife of the chairman of the town of Wilson, was conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the late home on Highway 141, south of the city. The services were conducted by the Rev. Paul Grosshuesch, pastor of Zion Reformed church, and burial was in Flader Rest cemetery.

The pallbearers were Harry, Melvin, Chester and Henry Herbst, Raymond Jankow and Adolph Gartman.

Numerous floral tributes were sent to the late home by relatives and friends. The funeral was largely attended.

Henry Herbst, Sr., well known town of Wilson Farmer and one time member of the county board of supervisors, passed away at 7 a.m. today at his home on Highway 141, a few miles south of this city, after an illness of three weeks. He had been suffering from a weak heart for several years.

He was born August 21, 1870, on the present homestead, the son of Mr. and Mrs. August Herbst. He attended district 4 school in the town of Wilson. On October 26, 1898, he was married to Miss Emma Jankow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Jankow, who preceded him in death five years ago.

He lived all his life in the town of Wilson and gave liberally of his time to help promote the welfare and interests of his farm friends. For nine years he served as town clerk and also town chairman, and served as a member of the county board of supervisors for eight years. He was clerk of the school board for about 32 years, and for many years was justice of the peace.

For ten years prior to 1926, he was secretary of the Sheboygan county branch of the Equity society. At the time of his death he was president of the Lakeside Cooperative Cheese factory, and also of the Sheboygan Falls Cooperative cheese factory. He was a member of Carl Witte Camp, Sons of Union Veterans.

The remains were taken to the Ballhorn Funeral Temple where they may be viewed by friends beginning Wednesday evening.

He is survived by four sons, Harry and Chester of Sheboygan, Melvin of the town of Wilson, and Henry, Jr. at home; four daughters, Mrs. Adolph Gartman of the town of Wilson, Mrs. Fred Krause of Sheboygan Falls, the Misses Mabel and Ellen Herbst at home; one sister, Mrs. August Thielman, town of Sheboygan, and one brother, William Herbst, of the town of Wilson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Ballhorn Funeral Temple, the Rev. E.H. Wessler, pastor of Zion Reformed church, officiating. Interment will be at Fladers Rest cemetery in the town of Wilson.

Funeral services for Henry Herbst, Sr., well known town Wilson farmer and active in public affairs, were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Ballhorn Funeral Temple, the Rev. E.H. Wessler, pastor of Zion Reformed church, officiating.

The spacious chapel and lobby were filled to capacity and numerous floral tributes surrounded the coffin. Among the floral pieces were those from the Lakeside Cooperative Creamery, Sheboygan Falls Co-operative, Sons of Union Veterans and members of the Sheboygan county board of supervisors. Mrs. George Stuart, Miss Hattie Rodewald, James Ver Couteren and Otis Weiskopf sang `Jesus meine Zuversicht' and `Jerusalem the Golden'.

Interment was at Flanders (sic, Fladers) Rest cemetery near the Herbst homestead, the names of the pallbearers being as follows: Harry, Melvin, Chester and Henry Herbst, Adolph Gartman and Fred Krause.

Mrs. Margaret Hoffmann, 71, of 1021 N. 6th St., died early this morning at St. Nicholas Hospital following a long illness.

She was born Jan. 29, 1885, in Gross Rohdau, Germany, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fredrick Krueck. She attended the elementary school in Germany and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith there.

On June 11, 1903, she was married to Fredrick William Hoffmann in Germany. In 1911, she and her three children came to the United States to join her husband who came to Sheboygan in 1910.

On Aug. 20, 1950, her husband preceded her in death. She was a member of the First United Lutheran Church.

Survivors are two sons, William and Theodore Hoffman, both of Sheboygan; four daughters, Mrs. Erna Berry of Sheboygan, Miss Hildegarde Hoffmann of Milwaukee, Mrs. Fredrick (Elizabeth) Krause of Sheboygan, Mrs. Roger (Lucille) Kramer, Elmhurst, Ill.; seven grandchildren; one brother, Gerhardt Krueck of Toledo, Ohio; and one sister, Mrs. Lena Reisner of Sheboygan.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four children, two brothers, and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels with the Rev. G. William Genzler, pastor of the First United Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.

James A. Herr, 46, of 301 Madison St., Cascade, a Cascade tavern operator, died Tuesday morning at St. Nicholas Hospital. He had been hospitalized three weeks.

A Kohler co. employee until 15 years ago, Mr. Herr operated the Herr Bar at Cascade since 1951.

Born Oct. 1, 1920, in Manitowoc County, he was the son of the late Henry and Lillian Wickmann Herr. He married Vivian Gebhardt at Sheboygan Falls on Oct. 13, 1945.

A veteran of Wor{l}d War II, Mr. Herr was a member of Sheboygan Memorial Post 9156, Veterans of Foreign Wars, St. Mary's Catholic Church at Cascade, the Holy Name Society of the parish, and the Sheboygan City and County Tavern League.

Survivors are his widow; two daughters, Sandra and Linda, both at home; three brothers, Robert, Walter and Raymond, and a sister, Mrs. Marvin (Dorothy) Wesner, all of Sheboygan.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sheboygan Falls, with the Rev. Harold Herbst, pastor, as celebrant of the requiem Mass. The Mass will follow brief family rites at 10 a.m. at the Dean-Huehns Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Thursday. Members of the parish will pray the Rosary at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Otto Herrling, 83, a former resident of Greenbush, died this morning at Sunny Ridge where he had been a patient for the past four years.

Born April 3, 1885 in Auburndale, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Herrling, he attended the Greenbush school. He operated a sawmill and later farmed in the Town of Greenbush.

Survivors include two sisters, Miss Antoinette Herrling, of Sunny Ridge and Mrs. Alma Herges, a patient at Rocky Knoll Sanatorium. He was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Wittkopp Funeral Home, Plymouth, the Rev. Lorene S. Iwakiri, pastor of the Greenbush United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Greenbush Cemetery.

There will be no visitation hours at the funeral home. Friends may call at the church at the time of services.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at the Dean Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls for Clint O. Hayden, 77, of 415 Prospect Ave., who died at St. Nicholas Hospital Friday morning.

The Rev. David G. Owen, pastor of the First Methodist Church in Sheboygan Falls, will officiate. Burial will be made in the Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.

Born Oct. 20, 1885 in Lowell, Ind., Mr. Hayden was the son of the late Hiram and Bertha Hayden. He married the former Myra Starkey at Muskegon, Mich., on Sept. 5, 1909.

The couple moved to Sheboygan Falls in 1917 and Mr. Hayden began work at the Kohler Co. He was employed there for 29 years, was a member of the Kohler Quarter Century Club and retired in 1953.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Roland (Erma) Miller of Sheboygan and Mrs. Joseph (Evelyn) Richardson of Sheboygan Falls; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, William and Wayne of Illinois.

Mrs. Anna Hoffmann, 74, of 816 Highland Ave., Kewaskum, died Friday at Deaconess Hospital in Milwaukee. Death was attributed to a heart attack following Asian flu.

Born Aug. 15, 1888 in New Fane, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andreas Braun, she was married to August C. Hoffmann on May 24, 1913. He preceded her in death 19 years ago.

Following their marriage they farmed in the Beechwood area and later lived at Lake Seven and Milwaukee before Mrs. Hoffmann moved to Kewaskum in 1945. She was employed by the Regal Ware Co. for 12 years prior to her retirement in 1957.

Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. William (Virginia) Ryan of Milwaukee; one son, Ralph of Milwaukee; seven grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Mary Reysen of Beechwood.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Leifer-Yoho Funeral Home with the Rev. E. R. Engelking, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Town of Scott, officiating. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Theodore B. (Frances) Hoopman, 74, a former resident of Oostburg, died Friday at Sheboygan County Hospital.

Born in the Town of Holland on Dec. 9, 1889, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Huibregtse. She was married on Dec. 9, 1913, to Theodore Hoopman at her home. The couple farmed in the Town of Lyndon, later resided in Oostburg.

Mrs. Hoopman was a member of the Bethel Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Oostburg.

Surviving are her husband; one son Delmar, R. 1, Waldo; three grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mary Ter Maat, rural Cedar Grove; and two brothers, John and Arnold, R. 1, Oostburg.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Donald F. Stanton officiating. Brief family rites will be held at 1:45 p.m., in the church parlor. Burial will be made in Oostburg cemetery.

John Heimerl, 69, 523 Monroe St., Sheboygan Falls, died at 1:10 a.m. Sunday at St. Nicholas Hospital after a lingering illness.

He was born on March 28, 1894, the son of the late John and Magdelena Heimerl. On Nov. 7, 1916, he married Miss Mary Dickman at Holy Name Church in Sheboygan.

The couple farmed in Washington County, then moved to Waubeka where they lived for 26 years. Mr. Heimerl was employed by the Ozaukee County Highway Department for 30 years, retiring in 1960.

For the past 2-1/2 years he and his wife have lived in Sheboygan Falls where Mr. Heimerl was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Albert and Raymond of Milwaukee; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Florence) Merzdorf of Waubeka; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Heimerl of Random Lake, and two sisters, Mrs. John (Clara) Gellings of Kiel and Mrs. John (Katherine) Gellings of Eden.

The requiem Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Church, Sheboygan Falls, following brief family rites at 9:30 a.m. at the Dean Funeral Home there. The Rev. Harold Herbst, pastor, will be celebrant of the Mass, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. Tuesday until the time of services. A vigil will be held there at 8 p.m. Tuesday by members of the parish.

A former resident of Sheboygan, Mrs. Mark Hoeper, 84, died Sunday morning at Rockford, Ill., following a stroke she had early last Tuesday. Death occurred in the Rockford Hospital.

Mrs. Hoeper was the former Mrs. Herbert Blocki and before her marriage was Miss Grace Luin.

For a period of years, she was the private secretary of Gustave Huette.

Her marriage to Mark Hoeper, her only immediate survivor, was performed in Sheboygan on Feb. 8, 1941.

Although she was inactive during the past five years, due to illness, she had been active in Episcopal churches in Rockford and Belvidere and in Rockford Country Club.

One brother, Charles Luin, died this winter.

The body is being cremated and funeral services will be held in Belvidere on Tuesday. Remains will be brought to Sheboygan for burial Wednesday, according to tentative plans.

Mrs. Theodore Hansmann, 42, of 409 Schwartz street, Plymouth, passed away at the family home at 8:35 a.m., today, following a lengthy illness.

Nee Heidemann, she was born Nov. 28, 1913, in the town of Schleswig, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Heidemann. She attended the Manitowoc County Normal school and taught at the Spring Valley rural school in Manitowoc county.

On June 18, 1938, she was married to Theodore Hansmann at the Zion Lutheran Church, Louis Corners. They have since resided in Plymouth. She was a member of the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Plymouth, and was affiliated with the Valparaiso Guild of the church.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Timothy; her father, Otto Heidemann, town of Schleswig; three sisters, Mrs. Ralph Maschmeier, Hartley, Iowa, Mrs. Carl Wernecke of Manitowoc, and Mrs. Roland Thomas of Cleveland, Wis.; and two brothers, William of the town of Schleswig, and the Rev. Frederick Heidemann of New London, Wis.

She was preceded in death by her mother who passed away in 1944.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, at the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. H.W. Baxmann will officiate.

The body will lie in state at the Wittkopp Funeral home from 2 p.m., Friday, until 11 a.m., Saturday, when it will be removed to the church to lie in state from noon until the hour of services.

Mrs. Minnie C. Helming, 76, of 2302 N. 13th St., died at St. Nicholas Hospital late Tuesday afternoon after an illness of two weeks.

She was a widow of the late Gustave Helming, formerly associated with the Helming Brothers garage, who died in 1937.

Born Feb. 17, 1889, in the Town of Herman, Mrs. Helming was a daughter of the late Frederick and Caroline Boedecker. On Feb. 10, 1910, she was married to Mr. Helming.

She was a member of Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church, its Senior Ladies Aid Society, and the Cooper Avenue Golden Age Club.

Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. John (Verona) Hiltgen of Sheboygan; a niece, Mrs. Arthur (Claire) Zerler who had made her home with Mrs. Helming since the age of 5; two grandchildren; a brother, Henry Boedecker of Sheboygan; and a sister, Mrs. Henry Ahrnsbrak Sr. of West Bend. One son preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Nickel's Funeral Home. The Rev. George Mohr, pastor of Zion Church, will officiate and burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Henrietta Hilbelink, 80, a former R. 1, Cedar Grove resident, died Tuesday afternoon at Sheboygan County Hospital where she had been a patient the past six months.

Born on July 27, 1890 in the Town of Lima, she was a daughter of the late Garret H. and Jane Neerhof Debbink.

On March 31, 1927 she was married to Henry J. Hilbelink at the home of her parents in Lima.

The couple farmed in the Town of Holland their entire married lives. Mr. Hilbelink died Aug. 11, 1967.

She was a member of the First Reformed Church, Cedar Grove.

Survivors include a step-daughter, Mrs. Herbert (Mildred) Debbink of R. 1, Oostburg; a stepson, Marvin Hilbelink of R. 1, Cedar Grove; six step-grandchildren and 15 step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Jennie Debbink of Milwaukee and Miss Dora Debbink of R. 2, Sheboygan Falls, and five brothers, John and Herbert Debbink, both of R. 1, Oostburg, Ellis of R. 3, Sheboygan Falls, and Ernest and Andrew, both of R. 2, Sheboygan Falls.

A sister, a stepdaughter and a step-grandson preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at First Reformed Church, Cedar Grove, the Rev. Cornelius Hoekstra, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

A 1:45 p.m. family service will be held in the education building of the church.

Mrs. William E. Hill, 69, 525 N. Milwaukee St., Plymouth died at Plymouth Hospital Wednesday after a four day illness.

The former Elizabeth (Libbie) Phillipsen was born July 30, 1896, in the Town of Mitchell, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Phillipsen. She attended Rathbun District School, Town of Mitchell, and Sheboygan Business College.

On July 28, 1928, she married William Hill in Plymouth. The couple lived in Plymouth except for a short time in Fond du Lac.

Surviving are her husband, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wittkopp Funeral Home in Plymouth with the Rev. Herbert Balcom, pastor, First Congregational United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Town of Sherman.

A member of a pioneer Sheboygan family, Mrs. Sidney B. Heywood, 71, died early this morning at Symmes Hospital, Arlington, Mass.

She had undergone hip surgery following a fracture sustained about 10 days ago at her home in Lexington, Mass.

Born in Sheboygan on May 25, 1895, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Nahyda Vollrath Weimer.

She attended Sheboygan public schools and studied at Stout Institute, Menomonie, Wis. Later, she received a B.S. degree in domestic science from Columbia University, New York City.

Mrs. Heywood taught in the Brillion schools and at Fall River, Mass.

At one time, she was in charge of the kitchen at the American Club at Kohler.

Widely recognized as a culinary expert, Mrs. Heywood wrote an international cookbook which had broad circulation.

Following her marriage, she and her husband purchased one of the oldest homes in the Lexington, Mass., area and operated it as an inn. Mrs. Heywood supervised the dining phase of the inn which was well-know as "The Old House".

For many years, Mrs. Heywood graciously opened her inn for Thanksgiving dinners for local students at eastern schools. As many as 25 or 30 Sheboygan area students were invited to those traditional gatherings. She suspended operation of the picturesque home as an inn after World War II.

She also was active in the Episcopal church, both here and in the Lexington area.

Survivors include her sister, Mrs. Eugene Pantzer, 2216 N. 3rd St., and a niece, Miss Mary Pantzer, both of Sheboygan, and a nephew, Eugene Pantzer, on a college faculty in Franklin, New Hampshire.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Following cremation, the ashes will be interred in Wildwood Cemetery in Sheboygan. A memorial service is planned with the date to be announced later.

Funeral services for Charles Hayner, 76, of 1544 N. 19th St., who died Sunday will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Nickel's Funeral Home. The Rev. Mark Wegner, pastor of Christ Memorial Church, Milwaukee, will officiate in the absence of Rev. Robert Ehlers, pastor of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home until the hour of services.

Mr. Hayner had worked at the Sheboygan Foundry and later at the General Box Co. He retired in 1958.

Besides his wife Louise, he is survived by a son, Roy, of Sheboygan; a daughter, Mrs. William (Beatrice) Jerving of Sheboygan; two brothers, John of Sheboygan and Edwin of Kiel; a sister, Mrs. Edwin Koeppe of Sheboygan; and eight grandchildren.

Three children and two sisters preceded him in death.

Plymouth - Mrs. Harriet Higgins, 72, passed away Saturday afternoon at 12:30 o'clock at her home, 107 South street, where she lived for the past five years.

Mrs. Higgins was born Nov. 26, 1864, in the town of Rhine, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. LaFayette Willis. She was married to William Higgins in February, 50 years ago in Glenbeulah. Mr. Higgins preceded her in death six years ago in October. Mrs. Higgins lived in the town of Greenbush until five years ago. She is survived by one brother, Hiram Willis, Milwaukee, and nieces and nephews, and she has been a life-long member of the Methodist church.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Wittkopp Funeral Home. Interment will be made in the Greenbush cemetery, and the Rev. Mrs. Margaret Oosterhuis will officiate. The body will lie in state from Monday noon to the time of the services.

Plymouth - (Special) - Edgar Frank Steele, 60, passed away at the Plymouth hospital Sunday morning at 10:40 o'clock. He was born on May 23, 1876, in the town of Plymouth, the son of William and Jennie Steele, and was married to Millie Keuper in Plymouth on Jan. 1, 1901. He was a member of the F. O. E., and the Congregational church. He was a loving father and husband.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Wittkopp Funeral Home and at 2 o'clock at the Congregational church. Burial will be in the Woodlawn cemetery, and the Rev. Samuel Bullough will officiate.

He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Ross Herrling, Muscatine, Iowa, and three grandchildren, Phillis Mae, Doris Fae, and Ross, Jr., and one brother, Joseph, West Chicago, Ill..

Mrs. Frances F. Haese, 66, of 1423 Broadway, died Saturday evening at St. Nicholas Hospital where she had been a patient for about a month.

A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anton Leonhard, she was born in Sheboygan Aug. 14, 1900. She attended Holy Name School.

She was married to Adolph Haese on April 12, 1920. Mr. Haese died in 1965.

Survivors include one son, Marvin, of Milwaukee; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Ramm Funeral Home with a requiem Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert M. Moeller, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial rites will be conducted in Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Hattie Hendrikse, 74, of 119 N. 9th St., Oostburg, widow of Cornelius, died unexpectedly Saturday afternoon at her home.

The former Hattie Brusse was born May 5, 1896, in the Town of Lima, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Mattie Kooman Brusse.

On Feb. 21, 1917, she was married to Mr. Hendrikse in Oostburg. He died last Aug. 24.

The couple spent most of their married lives farming in the Town of Wilson until they retired and moved to Oostburg in 1966. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1957.

She was a member of the Women's Guild and Circle of First Reformed Church, Oostburg.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Melvin (Marion) TenHaken, Mrs. Wesley (Jeanette) Heinen and Mrs. Clifford (Beatrice) Dulmes, and a son, Harold, all of Oostburg; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Huibregtse, Gibbsville, and Mrs. Abraham Dulmes, Sheboygan Falls; and two brothers, Garret Brusse, Oostburg, and Clarence, Denver, Colo.

An infant son, a sister and four brothers preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at First Reformed Church, Oostburg, the Rev. Calvin Rynbrandt, pastor, officiating, preceded by a 1:45 family service at the church. Burial will be in Gibbsville Cemetery.

Raymond A. Helms, 61, of 1318 Virginia Ave., died Sunday at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

Born April 13, 1900 in Sheboygan he was a son of the late William and Jennie Helms. He attended public school here and on Aug. 16, 1947, was united in marriage with Mrs. William (Jeanette) Vetsch.

He was employed as a machinist by the Chicago and North Western Railway for 39 years and later was employed for six years by the J.P.R. Co.

He was a member of First Methodist Church and Modern Woodmen of America.

Survivors are his wife; two step-sons, William Vetsch of La Mirada, Calif., and Wayne Vetsch of Sheboygan; one step-daughter, Mrs. Donald (Geraldine) Beebe of Parma Heights, Ohio; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Sidonia Sullivan of San Francisco Calif., and Mrs. Helen Carmen of Plymouth.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ramm's Funeral Home with the Rev. T. Parry Jones, pastor of First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Wildwood Cemetery.

The Rev. Wilford Evans, pastor of the First Congregational Church, officiated, and burial was made in Wildwood cemetery.

The child passed away shortly after birth Thursday at St. Nicholas Hospital.

Survivors include the parents; the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Meyer; and the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Horneck.

The infant was preceded in death by a brother, Steven.

Mrs. Albert Haack, 57, of 2110 David Ave., died at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital Saturday evening after a brief illness.

Nee Vera Kleist, Mrs. Haack was born in Sheboygan March 17, 1901, a daughter of Herman and Amelia Kleist. She attended Lyman School and the Sheboygan Business College and was married to Mr. Haack Feb. 3, 1923. The couple operated the Haack grocery store on S. 12th St. for many years.

Mrs. Haack was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

She leaves her husband; a son, Herbert; two daughters, Mrs. Alex (Ruth) Menzer and Mrs. William (Evelyn) Graf Jr., both of Sheboygan; seven grandchildren and one brother, Carl Kleist, Milwaukee. Her parents preceded Mrs. Haack in death.

Funeral services will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Hilbert Hilgendorf, pastor, will conduct the services, and burial will be in the family lot at Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Ramm Funeral Home from 4 p.m. Monday until 10 a.m. Tuesday and at the church after 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Henry Huber, Sr, 89, retired brick-layer residing at 216 Edna street, Plymouth, passed away at 11 p.m. Tuesday at the Plymouth hospital after a five-day illness.

Born June 23, 1860, in Austria, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Huber, he was married Feb. 6, 1892, to Theresa Hamenter at Wutberg, Austria. The couple came to America in 1905 and settled in Sheboygan where they resided until 1913 when they moved to Plymouth. Mrs. Huber passed away May 6, 1937.

Mr. Huber was a member of the Holy Name society of St. John the Baptist church in Plymouth and a member of the St. Peter Claver society of Sheboygan.

Survivors are three children, Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Biskobing and John of Plymouth and Henry, Jr., of Calexico, Calif.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Gentine Funeral home and at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist church with the Rev. A. J. July officiating. Interment will be made in Holy Cross cemetery at the funeral home from 7 p.m. Thursday until the time of the services.

Members of the Holy Name society of St. John the Baptist church will hold a vigil at the funeral home at 8 o'clock Friday evening.

Peter Heinz, 73, former resident, died Wednesday afternoon at 2:55 o'clock at Holy Family hospital, Manitowoc, after a serious illness of three weeks.

He had been living a short time at 1413 S. Sixteenth street, Manitowoc. Born in town of Centerville, Manitowoc county, on Oct. 26, 1866, he came to Sheboygan as a young man and married Pauline Pohland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Pohland, June 6, 1893. She died in 1937.

He was a charter member of the Aid Association of Lutherans and a member of Trinity Lutheran church. His hobby was gardening.

Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Ervin Nack, Manitowoc; one son, Edwin F., Milwaukee; two grandchildren, Leroy Weber and Donald Heinz, one brother, Fred, of Manitowoc, and two sisters, Mrs. Henry Mundt, Sr., and Mrs. Fred Peters, city.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 at the Ballhorn funeral temple, the Rev. C. P. Schulz officiating, with burial in Lutheran cemetery. The body can be viewed at the funeral home.

Oscar F. Huhn, editor of The Sheboygan Amerika, Sheboygan German language newspaper, for the past thirty-two years, died at Sheboygan Memorial hospital at 10:10 a.m., Sunday.

He had been in ill health during the past several years, but his condition became critical last week when he submitted to an operation.

With his passing, Sheboygan county loses one of its most valued citizens, one of the most scholarly German language newspaper editors in the state, one of the most loyal and patriotic Americans of this community, a man who began his public services as a youth, and continued to do so until the time of his illness. The entire community will be shocked to learn of the death of this widely known and greatly revered gentleman.

Mr. Huhn was born in the town of Centerville, Manitowoc county, on October 2, 1863, the son of Ferdinand and Henrietta Mueller Huhn. His father was one of the German pioneers, who immigrated to this country with his father in 1848. He was one of nine children in the Huhn family.

He attended the rural school in the vicinity of his home, after which in 1879, he entered the Oshkosh Normal school. He earned his way through school by teaching a rural school at Nenning's Corner. In 1882, he completed his normal training and was graduated.

After his graduation from the state normal, Mr. Huhn obtained a position as a teacher in the Horace Mann school. Later, he was made principal of the Horace Mann school, and held that position for five years.

Mr. Huhn was engaged in various clerical capacities during his life. After resigning as principal of the Horace Mann school, he was appointed as assistant journal clerk of the state legislature, which position he held two years. Then he was elected city clerk of Sheboygan, serving in that capacity for eight years. In 1901, he accepted a position as editor of the Sheboygan Amerika, and he held that position continuously up to the time of his death.

When Mr. Huhn became ill recently, Walter Knippel, formerly on the staff of the Milwaukee Herold, came here and has performed Mr. Huhn's editorial duties since.

Mr. Huhn served the county of Sheboygan for several years as a member of the county normal school board, of which he was chairman, and as assistant county clerk during the sessions of the county boards for many years. His duties in the latter capacity were to read the various resolutions, bills and other material brought before the board, and to advise the board on methods of procedure.

A progressive politically, Mr. Huhn was always an influential factor in the politics of this community. He was a close friend and ardent admirer of the late Senator Robert M. La Follette.

Mr. Huhn was an honorary member of the Sheboygan Gymnastic society, a member of the North Side Improvement association, and other organizations.

On December 24, 1889, Mr. Huhn and Miss Ottilia Abele were married. They had one child, who died twelve years ago. His immediate survivors are: Mrs. Huhn, five sisters, Mrs. William Wagner of Haven, Mrs. William Belitz of the town of Manitowoc, Mrs. Theodore Frohme of Wauwautosa, Miss Louise Huhn of Chicago, Mrs. Lueloff of Milwaukee, and two brothers, Henry Huhn of Manitowoc, and August Huhn of Great Falls, Montana.

The body was taken to the Robert H. Kroos Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday. The Rev. E. H. Wessler of Zion Reformed church will officiate, and burial will be made in Wildwood cemetery.

Miss Gertrude E. Hinske, 83, a longtime Sheboygan school teacher, formerly of 1126 N. 6th St., died Wednesday afternoon at Morningside Nursing Home after a six-month illness.

She was born in Milwaukee on Dec. 7, 1888, a daughter of the late Rev. Ernst R. and Hulda Prochnaw Hinske.

She moved to Watertown with her family and attended school there. She graduated from Milwaukee Normal School.

Miss Hinske came to Sheboygan in 1907 and taught at Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson and Sheridan Schools, retiring in 1954 after 47 years.

On Aug. 24, 1954, Miss Hinske received an award for meritorious teaching service from the then Gov. Walter J. Kohler.

The award was in recognition of her 47 years of "outstanding service in the teaching profession in Wisconsin as the teacher with the most years of classroom service in Sheboygan County."

She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, taught church Sunday school for many years, had been a member and also director of the church choir for many years, was a member of its Mission Society, Ladies Aid and Women's Guild.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother.

There are no immediate survivors.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Kroos-Mason Funeral Home, the Rev. George A. Mohr, pastor of Zion UCC, officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established in Miss Hinske's name for Zion Church.

Mrs. Julius Hessler, 71, wife of an Indiana Avenue retail shoe merchant, died of a brief illness late Friday afternoon at Sheboygan Memorial Hosital.

Mrs. Hessler, of 1704 Indiana Ave., had been taken to the hospital Thursday.

The former Martha Voigt, she was born in this city, July 13, 1888, daughter of the late William and Amelia Voigt.

She attended Bethlehem Lutheran School and was married to Mr. Hessler, Nov. 30, 1911.

The couple previously lived on Dillingham Ave. and S. 17th St., moving into the present apartment next to the store 18 years ago. Mr. Hessler has been in business there since 1922.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, Frederick, Beverly Hills, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Wilma Kreuter, Sheboygan, and Mrs. Henry (Ruth) Lashway, Des Plaines, Ill., and eight grandchildren.

She also leaves two brothers, Walter and Arthur Voigt, and four sisters, Mrs. Anna Maas, Mrs. Ida Allwardt, Mrs. Henry Schmagelski and Mrs. Wallace Mueller, all of Sheboygan.

She was preceded in death by one brother.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Ramm Funeral Home with the Rev. E. T. Schmidtke, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, of which Mrs. Hessler was a member, officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Delia Hemschemeyer, 75, widow of Armin, a former Sheboygan Falls resident, died late Friday afternoon at St. Nicholas Hospital.

She had been living at the Anna M. Reiss Home for three years.

The former Mary Montague, she was born at Freeport, Ill., July 12, 1883, a daughter of the late Patrick and Bridget Montague.

Her marriage to Mr. Hemschemeyer took place at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sheboygan Falls, June 21, 1905.

Following marriage the couple lived in Falls. Her husband, formerly employed in the electrical department at Kohler Co., died in 1948.

Surviving are three sons, Armin C., Sheboygan Falls, Bernard A., Boulder, Colo., and Carlos A., Butler, Wis.; a daughter, Mrs. Louise Salter, Sheboygan Falls; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a sister and brother.

The Requiem Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Church, Falls, with the Rev. Charles Neu, pastor, celebrant. Mass will follow 9 o'clock family rites at the Dean Funeral Home in Falls. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. Nicholas (Elizabeth) Heinen, 81, a former Fredonia resident who has resided with her husband at Maplewood Nursing Home, Sheboygan Falls, for the past nine months, died Sunday evening at St. Nicholas Hospital.

She was born in Town Fredonia on Aug. 21, 1884, a daughter of the late Michael and Catherine Rieth. On May 8, 1906, she was married to Peter Paulus, at Holy Cross Church. He preceded her in death in 1912.

She then married Nicholas Heinen on Feb. 9, 1915.

Mrs. Heinen was a member of Christian Mothers Societies of St. Rose Catholic Church, Fredonia, and Holy Cross Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Sedonia Schuessler of Belgium, and Mrs. Viola Forra of Stevenson, Mich.; one son, Peter of R. 1, Belgium; one step-daughter, Mrs. Cecelia Biever, Port Washington; one brother, Michael Rieth of Skokie, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Frank Siebenaler, Whitewater; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. One daughter preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph Rohlinger will be celebrant of the requiem high Mass and burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. W. J. Hansche, nee Minnie DeSmidt, died at her home in Racine, June 9 at the age of 82 years.

Mrs. Hansche was born in the Town of Holland and moved to the Town of Greenbush with her family as a child. She was married to Mr. Hansche April 9, 1908. He passed away in 1938.

Mrs. Hansche was a member of the Church of the Nazarene at Racine.

She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Alice Mortenson, Racine, and six brothers, Sylvester and Erwin of Racine, Andrew of Rockford, Ill., Manes of Madison, Stanley of Fond du Lac, and Adrian of Glenbeulah.

One son, one daughter, three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Thomas A. Helmer, 70, of 1851 N. 19th St., a retired Plymouth druggist, died unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack at his home at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

He was born March 7, 1894, at Plymouth, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Helmer. He attended Plymouth schools, graduated from Plymouth High School in 1915, and later attended Ripon College. He served in the U.S. Army for two years during World War I with the 120th Field Artillery of the 32nd Division in France.

Mr. Helmer was a registered pharmacist for almost 40 years and operated Helmer's Pharmacy at Plymouth for 25 years, retiring because of ill health in 1959.

He was married Sept. 1, 1926, at New Holstein to Mabel Griem. The couple lived at Plymouth until last September when they moved to Sheboygan.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. James P. (Emmy Lou) Driscoll, San Francisco, and Mrs. Kenneth L. (Harriet) Gregerson, Granite Falls, Wash.; and three grandchildren.

Private funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Wittkopp Funeral Home, Plymouth, with the Rev. T. Parry Jones, pastor of the First Methodist Church, Sheboygan, officiating. Cremation will follow the services.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sophie Heinz, 77, formerly of 1213 S. Clair avenue, passed away Tuesday evening at the home of her son Victor, route 1, Cleveland, where she had been living for the past year.

Mrs. Heinz was born at Manitowoc Rapids on Feb. 28, 1874, the daughter of Frederic and Lena Sieker. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church at Newtonburg. On June 22, 1897, she was married to Herman Heinz, Centerville. The couple made their home on a farm there until 1934 when they moved to Sheboygan. Mr. Heinz preceded her in death in 1937.

She is survivied by her son, Victor, a grandson, Warren, and two sisters; Mrs. Louisa Jaeger, Sheboygan, and Mrs. Hugo Luckow, Newton. A brother, Edward Sieker, and sister, Mrs. Henry Schomberg, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 at the Ballhorn Funeral chapels. The Rev. Karl Schulz will officiate, and burial will be in the family lot in Lutheran cemetery.

August Hartman, 84, Antigo, Wis., died of a lingering illness Friday afternoon at the Superior Nursing Home in Antigo.

He was born Nov. 30, 1870, in the Town of Wilson, Sheboygan County, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hartman. He was baptized and confirmed in the Zion Reformed Church and attended the rural school in the Town of Wilson. He worked as a lumberjack near Antigo and frequently spent his summers in Sheboygan.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Minnie Mohr of Sheboygan. One brother and three sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. The Rev. Clarence Koehler of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church will officiate at the services and at the burial on the family lot in Wildwood cemetery.

Melvin F. Hesslink, 57, of Wind Lake, Wis., a former Sheboygan resident, died at Burlington Memorial Hospital Tuesday.

Mr. Hesslink was born in Sheboygan July 29, 1904 a son of Isaac and Cora Hesslink. He attended Longfellow School and for many years was employed by the Hesslink Ice Co., owned by his father.

He married Miss Leona Schmidt in Sheboygan Aug. 5, 1923. The family moved to Cudahy in 1942 and then to Wind Lake in 1954.

Mr. Hesslink was employed as a press operator by the Ladisch Drop Forge Co.

Survivors are his wife; two sons Robert of Sheboygan and Glenn of Wind Lake, a daughter Mrs. Myron (Phyllis) Peterson of Duluth, Minn.; his parents, of Sheboygan Falls, 11 grandchildren, and a brother, Atty. Norman Hesslink of Kohler.

Funeral services will be held at the Ramm Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. T. Parry Jones, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be on the family lot in Wildwood Cemetery.

Conrad Henschel, 87, formerly of Glenbeulah, died early today at Rocky Knoll Sanatorium and Hospital.

Mr. Henschel, a retired Town of Russell farmer, and his wife had been residing at Rocky Knoll for the past two months. Prior to that they had lived in Glenbeulah since retiring from the farm 25 years ago.

A native of Russell, he was born Feb. 16, 1874, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Henschel.

His wife is the former Mary O'Malley of Glenbeulah.

She survives, along with a son, Elmer, Fond du Lac; a daughter, Mrs. Wilbur Brost (Roma), Appleton; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild; a brother, George, Sturgeon Bay; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Sinz, Kiel.

The body is at the Huss Funeral Home in Plymouth where arrangements for services are being made. Details will be announced Friday.

Funeral services for Conrad Henschel, 87, of Glenbeulah, who died Thursday morning at Rocky Knoll Sanatorium and Hospital, will be held at 10:30 Monday at the Huss Funeral Home in Plymouth.

Burial will be in St. Fridolin's Catholic Church Cemetery at Greenbush.

Mrs. Pauline Heinz, 67, wife of Peter Heinz, died at 4:15 a.m. today at the home, 1117 Huron avenue, after having been ill for several days.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Ballhorn Funeral Temple. The Rev. C. P. Schulz will officiate and burial will be made in the family lot at Lutheran cemetery. Friends may view the body at the funeral temple beginning Sunday afternoon.

She was born Oct. 2, 1869 in the town of Centerville, Manitowoc county, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Pohland, Sr. She attended the district school near her father's farm and was confirmed at the St. John and St. Peter Lutheran church there.

On June 6, 1893 she was married to Peter Heinz by the Rev. Phillip Sprengling. Immediately following the wedding she came to Sheboygan, where her husband was employed as a carpenter. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church here.

She was intensely interested in her flower garden, and took great pride in her home and family. Whenever able to go she attended church.

Survivors are her husband; two children, Mrs. Walter Weber of Sheboygan and Edwin of Milwaukee; one grandson, Leroy Weber; one daughter-in-law and one son-in-law, and three brothers and four sisters.

Mrs. John Helms, 68, died at her home, 612 Erie Ave., at 12:50 p.m. Monday.

The former Nelda Gort, she was born in the Netherlands on Sept. 14, 1897, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Gort.

She came to the United States with her parents in 1911, the family settling first in Chester, Pa. They came to Sheboygan in 1913.

Her marriage to John Helms took place in Sheboygan on June 27, 1926.

She was a member of the Hope Baptist Assembly.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Mrs. John (Jane) Van Dyke, Sheboygan; one son, William J. Leuth, Milwaukee; five grandchildren; one brother, Leonard Gort of Sheboygan and two sisters, Mrs. Ernst Holtz, Sheboygan, and Mrs. Edna Kurdts, Chicago.

Two brothers and her parents preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. The Rev. E. J. Knight of Zion Strict Baptist Church, Grand Rapids, Mich., will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Carl Horst, 62, of 828 Lincoln Ave., died early this morning at the St. Nicholas Hospital following a lingering illness. He was employed as a machine operator at the Spiller Co.

He was born in Russia on July 19, 1892. He was a member of Fountain Park Evangelical United Brethren Church and on Wolf-Olson Post No. 1230, V.F.W.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) Suran of this city; three sons, Leonard Burns and Harold Horst of this city, and Clarence Horst of Phelps, Wis.; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Oehlberg of Clear Lake, Iowa, and Mrs. Ann Schneider in Argentina; and one brother, Alex, of this city.

His wife died in September, 1954, and his parents, a sister, Mollie and brother, Christ also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Kroos Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Krueger officiating. Burial will be made in the family lot in Wildwood cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home beginning Sunday noon.

Mrs. Augusta Hilbert, 97, a resident of Sunny Ridge for the past five years, died Sunday afternoon.

She was born in Germany on April 2, 1869, the daughter of the late George and Louise Ziebert. She was married to Gottfried Hilbert on Nov. 28, 1887, in Germany.

The couple came to Sheboygan in 1894. Her husband died in 1952.

Mrs. Hilbert was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Survivors are one son, Otto; three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Hattie) Schoenfeld, Mrs. Matt (Anna) Ronk and Mrs. Fred (Elenore) Heinzen, all of Sheboygan; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Two sons preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Ramm Funeral Home. The Rev. Lowell Thomas, of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, will officiate and burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.

Mrs. Charlotte N. Hilton, 60, of 121 Short St., Sheboygan Falls, died late Wednesday afternoon at St. Nicholas Hospital.

Born Feb. 22, 1908, in Duluth, Minn., a daughter of the late Henry and Gertrude Gates Nichols, she graduated from high school at Duluth. After attending Lawrence University at Appleton and the University of Chicago, she taught school for a few years at Neenah.

On Sept. 16, 1944, she married H. H. Hilton Jr. in Sheboygan. He died May 10, 1965.

Mr. Hilton taught private piano lessons at Sheboygan Falls the past eight years. She was a member of the Girl Scouts of America serving as troop leader for 10 years, and a member of the Girl Scout Council at Falls for many years.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Gordon (Roberta) Pribek, of Sheboygan Falls, and four grandchildren. A brother and a sister preceded in death.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Staus Funeral Home, Sheboygan Falls, with the Rev. T. Parry Jones, minister of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Sheboygan, and the Rev. Howard G. Kayser, rector of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Sheboygan Falls, officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery.

Funeral services will be held at Plymouth next Friday, Feb. 19, for Earl W. Hirsch, 56, a well-known resident of Plymouth, who died early Friday at St. Petersburg, Fla.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. G. A. Karpinsky, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mr. Hirsch, whose home was 202 Elizabeth St., was stricken with a heart attack while spending the winter months in Florida. He had been under a doctor's care for a heart ailment for several years.

He was a former Plymouth alderman, worked in various places as a meat cutter, worked as a salesman for the Cudahy Packing Co. and operated Turner Hall for many years.

While in semi-retirement, he was personnel manager for Stokley Foods, and assisted Cleveland Container Co. and Rathbun Feeds. He was well known as superintendent of all Sheboygan County Fiar Association concession stands, a position he held for 17 years.

He was born at Batavia Jan. 6, 1909, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Hirsch. After graduating from Plymouth High School he attended Marquette University in Milwaukee.

Mr. Hirsch was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department and the Popal River Hunting Club.

He was married April 4, 1933, at Marion, Ind., to Helga Wriedt. She died Feb. 20, 1952. On Dec. 3, 1956, he was married at Hubbard, Ia., to Mrs. Alma Hecker.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Glen (Janice) Wolter, Milwaukee; two sons, James, Perth, Australia, and Lt. Vern H. Fox, Fort Smith, R.I.; a grandchild, and one sister, Mrs. George W. Andrews, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Marion, Ind.

Mrs. Lena Louise Habighorst, 92, a former Sheboygan County resident, died in Grand Rapids, Mich., today at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Leona) Gallmeyer.

The former Lena Wedepohl was born in Sheboygan County and lived here for 33 years. She and her late husband, August, lived on the original Habighorst homestead farm until 1905.

The family then lived in Marinette until his death in 1942, and Mrs. Habighorst moved to Grand Rapids in 1955.

She was active in church work for many years, and was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church.

In addition to Mrs. Gallmeyer, survivors include another daughter, Mrs. E. H. (Myrtha) Auerswald of Grand Rapids; a son, Edgar W. of Oshkosh; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Sparman Simmons of Milwaukee. A daughter, Esther Gerberding, died in 1945.

Following services in Grand Rapids, the body will be brought to the Town of Sheboygan Falls for burial in St. Lukas Church Cemetery on Tuesday.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. G. William Genszler, pastor of First United Lutheran Church, officiating.

Elroy B. Hammerschmidt, 56, of Rt. 1, Kiel, died Thursday afternoon at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital where he had been confined two days.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Ballhorn Funeral Chapel, 1201 N. Eighth St., Sheboygan. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Sheboygan.

He was born Feb. 26, 1903, in the Town of Sheboygan Falls, Sheboygan County, son of the late Robert and Alma Liedziet Hammerschmidt. He attended the district school. He married the former Glendora Trevorrow of the Town of Milltin, Iowa County, Wis. and the couple settled on the homestead farm, residing there ever since. He was a former member of the Town of Schleswig school board.

Survivng are his wife; son, Glen, and daughter, Jean, at home. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kathy.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.

Albert F. Herrmann, 57 of Milwaukee, died Thursday at Milwaukee.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Ramm Funeral Home, Sheboygan, and at 10 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Sheboygan, the Rev. Cyril A. Volz officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sheboygan.

Mr. Herrmann was born May 12, 1903, at Appleton, son of the late Charles and Henrietta Henning Herrmann. He was educated at Appleton and Sheboygan schools.

His first wife, Elsie, preceded him in death 30 years ago. He later married the former Ida Awe in Dec., 1933, at Northeim. He farmed in Manitowoc County for seven years and moved to Milwaukee in 1940. He was employed as a machinist at Kearney and Trecker Corp., Milwaukee, for nine years. For the past 11 years he was a machinist at Milwaukee Gear Co., Milwaukee.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Pfefferkorn and Mrs. Kenneth Brandl of Manitowoc; two brothers, Gary of Minneapolis and Joseph of Sheboygan; four sisters, Mrs. Herman Schulz and Mrs. Ernest Siegel of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Joseph Bender and Mrs. Walter LaVallierer of Sheboygan, and six grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.

Joseph Hertell, 90, of Sheboygan, father of Mrs. R.C. Smith of Reedsville, died in a Wausau hospital. Funeral services were held this morning at Merrill.

Mr. Hertell was born in Sheboygan in 1852 and conducted a meat market in that city for many years. He left for Merrill eight years ago to reside with his son, Oscar.

Survivors are a son, daughter, two sisters and a brother.

Sheboygan-Christ Hahn, 80, was dead and his wife, aged 78, gasping for breath, when neighbors broke into their home and found them in bed in a room filled with coal gas. Mrs. Hahn was revived. Coroner Van Zanten determined that the aged man had been dead three hours when found. They resided in Plymouth, this county.

Sheboygan-Mrs. Hattie Hoppert, wife of County Agricultural Agent Martin Hoppert, is dead of influenza.

Otto Huhn, 44, of this city, died suddenly at the farm home of his sister, Mrs. William Rochrborn, in Town Wilson, of cerebral apoplexy. The survivors are a widow and son, Kurt, aged 5.

The body of Paul E. Howell, formerly of Sheboygan and captian of the wrecked steamer George Stone, was washed ashore two miles west of Fairport, nearly one hundred miles from Point Pelee where the steamer went down with Captain Howell and five of his crew Oct. 12. The body was cased in the lifebelts and heavy with jewelry and money, all of which showed that Mr. howell had taken every precaution to save the money and valuables on board the craft. Capt. Howell was in the port six weeks ago, then in command of the steamer Grover, also of the Bradley fleet.

Raymond C. Hennen, 70, 2820 A S. 10th St., died this morning at St. Nicholas Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born May 20, 1900 in the Town of Forest (Fond du Lac County), the son of the late Albert and Catherine Hennen. He attended public schools there, and on May 14, 1923, married the former Myrtle Smith in Waukegan, Ill. The couple moved here in 1927. He was employed at the Jung Shoe Co. for 43 years, until his retirement in 1968. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish and its Holy Name Society. Mr. Hennen is survived by his wife: three sons, Clarence, Raymond, and Gary; two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Gladys) Hamus, and Mrs. Harry (Dolores) Bemis, all of Sheboygan; a brother, Edward, Fond du Lac; a sister, Mrs. William Weidner, Shorewood, and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a grandchild. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church, following brief family rites at the Ramm-Ziegler Funeral Home at 9:30, the Rev. James Cera, associate pastor, will be celebrant of the Mass. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Thursday. There will be a parish wake there at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Albert (Al) Hennen, 59, of 425 Collins St., Plymouth, died at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac Friday evening following an auto accident earlier in the day. He was born Sept. 20, 1901, in Fond du Lac County, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Al Hennen. On Aug. 16, 1928, he married Iva Smith of Rosendale at Springvale, Wis. After his marriage he lived in Fond du Lac for 10 years, where he was employed by the J.F. Ahern Co. The couple then moved to Plymouth, where he became associated with the Plymouth Plumbing and Heating Co. For the past year he was associated with the Chase Hundle Co. of Sheboygan. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Holy Name Society, the Knights of Columbus Council 1789, and Hub City Aerie 1312. Survivors include his wife; his mother Mrs. Catherine Hennen of Fond du Lac; one son Pat, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Rosemary) Amberlang of Campbell, Calif., and Mrs. Merton (Kay) Hiller of Hartford, Wis.; one sister, Mrs. William Wesder of Sherwood [sic. Wiedner of Shorewood] (Milwaukee County); two brothers, Raymond of Sheboygan and Edward of Fond du Lac. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Huss Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with the Rev. Edward Ziegler officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Huss Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Monday. A parish vigil will be held on Monday at 8 p.m.

Clarence Hennen, age 83, of Sheboygan passed away Thursday September 20, 2007 at home. Clarence was born January 7, 1924 in Fond du Lac to the late Raymond C. and Myrtle (Smith) Hennen.

Clarence Hennen was united in marriage to the former Lillian Schneider on August 9, 1947 in Dubuque, IA, she preceded him in death on October 8, 1990.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Clarence was a mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office for 25 years retiring in 1983. In conjunction with his full time employment he worked at Ornamental Plastics, the Mead Public Library, and the Livesey Co. upon retirement.

Clarence was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. Survivors include his children {2 daughters & their husbands and a son & his wife}, 9 grandchildren. Clarence is further survived by 2 sisters and a brother.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents a son Danny and a brother Raymond. Burial in the Lutheran Cemetery.

Mrs. Clarence (Lillian) Hennen, 61, of 1529 N. 25th St., died unexpectedly Monday evening, Oct. 8, 1990 at her home. Lillian was born June 24, 1929 in Sheboygan, a daughter of the late Henry and Sophia Behrens Schneider. On Aug. 9, 1947, she and Clarence Hennen, were united in marriage in Dubuque IA. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ. Lillian is survived by her husband, Clarence; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and James Williams, of Sheboygan Falls and Shelley and Scott Kammerzelt, of Sheboygan; one son, Patrick Hennen, of Sheboygan five grandchildren, James and Joey Hennen and Brian, Todd and Gina Williams and five brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry and Virginia Schneider, of Cleveland; John and Mary Ann Schneider, of Crystal Lake; Arthur and Rachel Schneider, Alfred and Joanne Schneider and Richard and Sue Schneider, all of Sheboygan. She was also preceded in death by one son, Danny; three brothers and one sister. A funeral service for Lillian will be held at 11 a.m. Thurs. Oct. 11, 1990 at St. John United Church of Christ. The Rev. Dr. Robert Page will officiate. Burial will take place in Lutheran Cemetery. Danny Ray Hennen, 32, of 1106 Mead Ave., died unexpectedly Saturday afternoon at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital after apparently suffering a heart attack. He was born Apr. 27, 1952, in Sheboygan, a son of Clarence and Lillian Schneider Hennen. He attended Longfellow and Lincoln Schools, Urban Middle School and South High School. On Feb. 12, 1972, he married Susan Clark at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was employed at Northland Plastics Co. as an assistant superintendent for 14 years. Mr. Hennen was a Little League baseball and football coach for four years. He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife; two sons, James and Joey, both at home; his parents, of Sheboygan; a brother, Patrick, of Sheboygan; two sisters, Mrs. Sharon Williams, of Sheboygan Falls, and Miss Shelly Hennen, of Sheboygan, and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Ray Hennen Sr., Sheboygan. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew Lutheran Church. The Rev. David Krenz will officiate. Entombment will be in Garden Terrace Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Ramm-Ziegler Funeral Home from 4:30 to 9 p.m. today, and from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, and at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of services. A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Hennen�s name.

Raymond E. Hennen, age 78, of 4139 Cherrywood Ct. died on Wednesday evening, Oct. 5 at Sunnyridge Nursing Home. Ray was born on Sept. 14, 1927, in Sheboygan, a son of the late Raymond and Myrtle (Smith) Hennen. He attended St. Peter Claver Catholic School and graduated from Central High School. Ray served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 until 1947. On July 7, 1951, he was united in marriage to Barbara Schutte in Sheboygan. He was employed as a data processor at Kohler Company, retiring after 47 years. Ray was a Packer backer who enjoyed watching sports, officiated at basketball games for 25 years, umpired baseball for 25 years and officiated at flag football for 10 years. He also enjoyed and loved his dog, Benji and traveling to Las Vegas.

Ray is survived by his wife, Barbara; two sons, a daughter and their children; two brothers, Gary (Pat) Hennen and Clarence Hennen, both of Sheboygan; two sisters, Gladys Hamus and Dolores Bemis, both of Sheboygan; a brother-in-law, Dr. R.A. (Cory) Schutte of Amery, Wis. He is further survived by Todd Hueppchen, though not his son, they had a very close relationship. He was preceded in death by a grandson.

A private family service will be held at the Novak-Ramm-Ziegler Funeral Home with Deacon Michael Burch, parish director of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery. Ray�s family would like to thank the St. Nicholas Home Health and Hospice whose staff were like angels of God. They would especially like to thank his caregivers, Kristen, Sarah, Mary Ann and Frank. Though only being at Sunnyridge a short time the 2nd floor staff, especially Ginny, were very caring and supportive.

Merton E. Hillyer, 50, of 3514 N. 10th St., died Monday after being stricken with a heart attack at his home. He was born Dec. 18, 1926, in Sheboygan, a son of the late Merton and Ida Roenitz Hillyer. He graduated from Central High School in 1944, and served in the US Army for two years in Germany during World War II. In 1970 he returned to Sheboygan from Clarendon Hills IL and formed Storage Products, Inc., which he operated until the present time.

Survivors are a son, Michael, of Sheboygan, and a sister, Mrs. John Whitman, of Ohi CA.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. Cremation will follow the services. Friends may call at the funeral chapel from 4 p.m. Thursday until the time of services. A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Hillyer�s name.

A funeral mass for Mrs. Myrtle M. Hennen, 80, 2820A S. 10th St., who died Sunday at St. Nicholas Hospital, will be celebrated Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. The Rev. The former Myrtle Smith was born Mar. 28, 1904, in Foond du Lac, a daughter of the late Herbert and Annie Burkart Smith. She attended schools in Fond du Lac and graduated from Goodrich High School in 1922. On May 14, 1923, she married Raymond Hennen in Waukegan IL. In 1927, the couple came to Sheboygan to make their home. He preceded her in death in 1970. Mrs. Hennen was a member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church and St. Anne�s Christian Women�s Society. Survivors include three sons, Clarence A., Raymond E. and Gary J., all of Sheboygan; two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Gladys) Hamus and Mrs. Harry (Dolores) Bemis, both of Sheboygan; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A memorial has been established in Mrs. Hennen�s name.

Patrick A. Hennen, 45, of 425 Collins St., Plymouth WI, passed away unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, Feb. 3, 1990, at his home. He was born Apr. 15, 1944, in Plymouth, a son of Iva Smith Hennen and the late Albert M. Hennen. He attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Grade School and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1962. He then attended St. Norbert�s College and graduated from UW-Oshkosh with a degree in economics in 1967. He was married to Linda Mickel in Winneconne. The couple lived in Hartford and Milwaukee following their marriage. He had been employed by Penco Corp. for many years and had also been a self-employed sales representative most recently. He is a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth and had been a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks Club. Survivors include one son, Patrick M. Hennen, of Oshkosh; his mother, Iva Hennen, of Plymouth and two sisters, Mrs. Rosemary (Lyle) Ambeland, of Campbell CA and Mrs. Kay Kunkel of Schumburg IL. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, 11:30 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, in Plymouth, preceded by family rites at Wittkopp Funeral Home at 11 a.m. The Rev. Wayne Bittner, pastor of the church, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at Wittkopp Funeral Home, in Plymouth, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and on Wednesday, until the time of services. A parish vigil will be conducted at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Tuesday evening. A memorial fund will be established in Mr. Hennen�s name.

A week after his letter conveyed to his mother and brothers, the news that he was in perfect health, word came that Alfred A. Hasse, U.S.N., had died at Manchester NH on the U.S.S. New Hampshire in drydock. Alfred A. Hasse, 19 years of age last March, died Sun. Oct. 31. His remains arrived in the city at 11:55 o'clock this morning via Elkhart Lake. The funeral was held at two o'clock this afternoon from the home of his mother on Superior avenue, between Ninth and Tenth streets. Burial was in the Evangelical Lutheran cemetery, Rev. Schroer officiating. The young man was born in this city on Mar. 2, 1890. On Aug. 23, 1908 he entered the naval service and at the time of his demise served under Captain McR. Winnslow. He did not enjoy a trip around the world but has made several trips to Cuba and other Island possessions. Besides his mother he leaves two brothers, Arthur and Oscar, of this city and two step sisters.

Fond du Lac WI, Nov. 26. - Despite four gashes in her throat, two ounces of carbolic acid, six sleeping potions and a bottle of cough medicine, Mrs. Marie Hageman's frantic efforts at self-destruction failed to prove fatal immediately and she lingered from Tuesday morning until the afternoon of Thanksgiving day before she finally succumbed. Mrs. Hageman was 54 years of age and the mother of six sons and six daughters. Her husband is Carl Hageman, a farmer of this county. For some time her family noticed peculiar actions at times on the part of the woman, but they were given only passing comment.
