William Frederick Kapke, who died Sunday in Lincoln, came to Lancaster county thirty-one years ago and had resided here from that time to the date of his death, with the exception of four years recently, when he lived on a farm in Seward county. He was born November 29, 1836, at Pommern, Germany, and at the age of seven was brought to America by his parents, who emigrated and settled in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. During the civil war he served in the union army nine months, as a private in Company F, Sixth Wisconsin volunteer infantry. Those who survive him are the wife, four sons, six daughters, twenty-nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The funeral will take place from the residence, 223 North Fourteenth street, Wednesday at 2 p.m., and interment will be in Wyuka cemetery.

Sheboygan - County Judge Paul T. Krez, long identified with civil and fraternal enterprises in eastern Wisconsin, died here yesterday afternoon. He had been ill several months.

Judge Krez was the father of Assemblyman Frederick Krez of Plymouth. His father was General Conrad Krez.

Born in Sheboygan, Judge Krez in 1886 married Minnie Schoreder of Kenosha, sister of Mrs. Walter J. Kohler.

For thirty years Judge Krez presided over county court here and he was judge of the juvenile court since its organization 16 years ago.

Frank Carl Kapke was born Aug. 2, 1960, at Sheboygan, Wis. Baptized in the Evangelical Lutheran church there he was confirmed Palm Sunday, 1874. In 1877 his parents and family moved to Nebraska and settled near Emerald. On Nov. 26, 1885, he was married to Wilhelmina Thomas and to this union were born four children, Louise, who died when three years of age; Arthur, who died in September, 1935, Edward, who died in March, 1938, and Ralph, who survives him. Mrs. Kapke died July 7, 1931.

Mr. Kapke is also survived by two daughters-in-law, six grandchildren, two brothers and five sister. He died Aug. 18 at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 23 days. Funeral services were held Aug. 20 at the Lutheran church in Pleasant Dale with Rev. Mr. Butzke of Seward in charge. Interment was made in the Pleasant Dale cemetery.

Charles City - Funeral services were here Thursday for Eldred A. Kenyon, 82, who died Tuesday at his home after a 15 week illness; burial in the Floyd cemetery; born March 5, 1866, in Sheboygan county, Wisconsin, son of George and Ruth Kenyon; Mr. Kenyon's first wife preceded him in death in 1940 and he later married Jennie M. Butler, Feb. 4, 1941; most of his life was spent in Floyd as a farmer and a road engineer until he moved to Charles City, where he has lived for the last seven years; leaves widow.

Elkhart Lake - {Special} - Mrs. Jacob Kuhn, 82, nee Justine Schmahl, died suddenly Sunday night at the home of her son, Philip. She was born in town Rhine, daughter of John and Katherine Schmahl, on March 20, 1859. She married Mr. Kuhn on July 8, 1881, in town Rhine. He died on Aug. 29, 1920, and she operated the farm for seven years before moving to Elkhart Lake. Survivors are four sons, Philip, George, of town Rhine; Walter, of Sheboygan Falls, and Henry, of Crystal Lake; one daughter, Mrs. John {Justina} Kraemer, town Rhine; as sister, Mrs. Fred Manz, Kiel, and two brothers, Christian Schmahl, town Rhine, and Fred Schmahl, Kiel, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her husband, four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o�clock at the Raeder Funeral home here, the Rev. F.J. Lowenberg of the Community Evangelical and Reformed church officiating with burial in Kiel cemetery. The body can be viewed at the funeral home from Tuesday noon on.

Elkhart Lake, Wis. - Funeral services for Mrs. Jacob Kuhn, who passed away last Sunday evening at the home of her son, Philip, in this village, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Raeder Funeral home here. The Rev. F.J. Lowenberg, pastor of the Community Evangelical and Reformed church, conducted the English service at the funeral home, the Rev. Otto Saewart of Plymouth spoke in the German language and the Rev. Carl Schmahl, nephew of the deceased, conducted services at the grave. Mrs. Owen Rolwand and Miss Dorothy Raeder sang a German also an English song with Mrs. Rowland organ accompanist. Interment was in the Kiel cemetery. Pallbearers were Henry Becker, Louis Hungsberg, Frank Mueller, William Schuler, Fred Umsonst and John Williams. A large number of relatives and friends from Sheboygan, Sheboygan Falls, Chilton, Plymouth, New Holstein, Kiel and vicinity attended the last rites.

Mrs. Louis {Gertrude} Kastelic, 66, of 4525 Prairie View Road, died Wednesday night at St. Nicholas Hospital, following a brief illness. The former Gertrude Pestien was born Jan. 14, 1920, in Sheboygan, daughter of the late Charles and Wilhelmina Sinner Pestien. She attended Sheboygan public schools, graduating from Central High School in 1938. On Nov. 30, 1939, she married Louis Kastelic in Sheboygan. The couple have been partners in Brunette�s Hardware since 1949. Surviving are her husband; one son, Dan of Sheboygan; one daughter, Mrs. Laurie Pauly of Sheboygan; two grandchildren; and one brother, Victor Pestien of Lombard, Ill. The funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Ramm-Ziegler Funeral Home. The Rev. Brendan Flanagan, chaplain of St. Nicholas Hospital, will officiate. Cremation will follow. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of service. A memorial has been established in Mrs. Kastelic�s name for the Sheboygan County Humane Society.

Louis J. Kastelic, 69, of 4525 Prairie View Road and president of Brunette�s Ace Hardware Inc., died Monday afternoon, October 2, 1989 at St. Nicholas Hospital. Louis was born October 20, 1919 in Milwaukee, a son of the late Louis and Josephine Saye Kastelic. The family moved to Sheboygan and Louis attended St. Peter Claver Catholic School and Central HIgh School in Sheboygan. On November 30, 1939 Louis was united in marriage to Gertrude Pestien in Sheboygan. Gertrude died April 2, 1986. From 1943 to 1945, Louis served in the United States Army Combat Engineers in the Philippine Islands and New Guinea. For 40 years since 1949, Louis has been a partner and president of Brunette�s Ace Hardware Inc. Over the years Louis has remained active in all phases of the business. In his capacity with Brunette�s, Louis was also licensed as a Master Tin Smith and Master Plumber. Louis was a member of Sheboygan B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge No. 299, Sloga Liberty Lodge No. 18 and the Travelers Protective Association of America. Louis� favorite pastimes were golfiing, bowling and gardening. Survivors include one son, Dan {Louise} Kastelic, of Sheboygan and one Daughter, Mrs. Laurie {John} Paul, of Sheboygan; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Louis was preceded in death by two brothers. Funeral services for Louis will be held on Thursday, at 11 a.m. at Ramm-Ziegler Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Fictum, chaplain of St. Nicholas Hospital will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Mrs. Clara Kreidler, 87, died at the home of her son, Bernard J. Kreidler, C T H T T, Wednesday morning. Mrs. Kreidler had been living with her son for the past year. She is survived by sons and daughters, John of Watisau, Anton of Plymouth, Matthew of Flint, Mich., Mrs. Josephine Arnoldi of Green Bay, Mrs. Frank Kopellcn of Plymouth, Mis. Edward Mulligan of Rockford, 111., Ida and Bernard of Waukesha, 33 grandchildrendren. Mrs. Kreidler was proceeded in death by her husband, Bernard in 1923, and by four sons.

The body will lie in state at the Lyle funeral home and friends may call tonight. A vigil will be held at 8 p.m. tonight. The body will be moved to the Gentine funeral home in Plymouth and funeral services will be held from St. John's Catholic Church in Plymouth Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Father July officiating.

Bernhardt Kreidler, 68 years of age, for the past 19 years engaged in the wagon making business in Plymouth, died in that city last evening at his home on Eastern avenue. The cause of death was pneumonia, with which he had been ill but a short time.

Mr. Kreidler was a native of the town of Sheboygan, born there August 20, 1855. He was married 46 years ago at St. Ann. Removing to the city of Plymouth in 1904 Mr. Kreidler established himself in the wagon business, which he since conducted. He was known as a man of exceptional business honesty, a man of industry, a good neighbor and friend. He was a faithful member of St. John's Catholic congregation and also of the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin.

Surviving are Mrs. Kreidler and these sons and daughters: Mrs. Clarence Arnold, Manitowoc; Mrs. Ed. Mulligan, Rockford, Ill.; Mrs. Frank Kapellan, Plymouth; Miss Ida at home; John, Fond du Lac; William. Brandon; Malthes, Flint, Mich.; George, Anton, Benjamin at home.

Surviving brothers and sisters are John, Joseph and George Kreidler, all residents of Minnesota, Mrs. Michael Wicklein, Kent, Minn., and Mrs. Marie Schiller, Tacoma, Wash.

The funeral will be held Monday morning, leaving the home at 8:30 for St. John's church, where at 9 o'clock the Rev. Father July will celebrate a requiem mass. Interment is to be in the Plymouth Catholic cemetery.

Mrs. Madeline Klauck, 63, of Sheboygan, formerly of School Hill, died at her home in that city of heart disease. She was born in Germany, Nov. 1, 1861, and came with her parents to the United States when a year old. The family settled at School Hill and at the age of 21 she came to Sheboygan. Her husband, Math Klauk, two daughters and two sons survive. A sister in Chicago, and a brother, John Junk of Kiel, and ten grandchildren also survive. The funeral was held Wednesday from the South Side Catholic church.

Death of 76 year old Henry Kerner, age 76, died on Dec. 7 in Meeme.

He was buried 9 Dec. in Town Hermann, Sheboygan Co.

Louis Kaminsky, aged 77, passed away at his home, 927 Dillingham avenue, at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Mr. Kaminsky was born in Germany November 28, 1851, and came to this country forty-five years ago and settling in Pennsylvania, where he was employed in the coal mines. He came to this city sixteen years later. His marriage to Miss Catherine Reid occurred at Milwaukee about twenty-five years ago.

He is survived by his wife and one son, Edward.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the A.W. Ramm funeral Parlors, the Rev H. H. Wegner officiating. Burial will be made in the Lutheran cemetery.

Mr. Kaiser {no given name}, father of Peter and Conrad Kaiser in Milwaukee, died yesterday at the home of his eldest son Peter and will be taken to his last rest tomorrow in Franklin, Sheboygan Co.

Rheinhold Klemme, 46, died at St. Nicholas hospital Monday. He had been ill for some months. He was proprietor of Pine Grove tavern and bowling alleys and well-known to many here. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church in the town of Herman {Schwarzwald church}

Alex Karls, Jr., cashier of the State Bank of Howards Grove, died Sunday afternoon at St. Nicholas Hospital, a victim of cancer. He was 32.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at St. Dominic's Catholic Church, Sheboygan with the Rev. Cyril Volz, pastor, as celebrant of the requiem Mass. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Sheboygan.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.

He had been cashier of the bank for 12 years, working there while still a student at Lakeland College. He also was a director of the Franklin Mutual Insurance Company.

A native of New Holstein, he had been living at 1611 N. 21st Street, Sheboygan, for the past year and one-half.

He was born August 1, 1936, the son of Alex and the late Teckla Karls, and was married to Geraldine Salm on June 14, 1958. They lived in St. Nazianz until moving to Sheboygan.

Mr. Karls attended SS. Peter and Paul Elementary School at Kiel and was graduated from Kiel High School. He graduated from Lakeland College in 1960.

He was a member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church and the parish Holy Name Society.

Surviving are his wife; two children, his father, Alex Sr., five brothers, a sister, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bruckner, Kiel. His mother died earlier this year.

Funeral service for Mrs. Donald O. Kielsmeier, 65, of 1602 N. 24th St., who died Wednesday, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Zion United Church of Christ. The Rev. Gary L. Clark, pastor, will officiate.

Entombment will be in the Garden of Peace Mausoleum.

Friends may call at Ballhorn Funeral Chapel from 5 p.m. today, and at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

The former Lorraine M. Schumacher was born Nov. 8, 1918, in Sheboygan, daughter of Herman L. and Nora Johanning Schumacher.

She attended Washington Grade School and graduated from Central HIgh School in 1938.

On Nov. 14, 1942, she married Donald O. Kielsmeier, also of Sheboygan, at Zion UCC.

Mrs. Kielsmeier was member of Zion UCC.

She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Gerald {LouAnn} Fetterer of Sudbury, Mass; two grandchildren; and one brother, H.C. Schumacher of Sheboygan.

Viola L. Kattreh, 88, formerly of rural Glenbeulah, died Sunday, July 16, 1995 at Heritage Nursing Home, Sheboygan, where she was a resident for the past 16 years.

She is the former Viola Raquet, born Jan. 27, 1907 in the Town of Schleswig, daughter of the late Charles and Adela Voland Raquet.

She attended Kiel area schools. She was employed at H. C. Prange Company.

On Sept. 22, 1928 she married Leonard Kattreh. He preceded her in death on May 1, 1971.

She was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ, Kiel.

Survivors include nieces, nephews and special friends, Andy, Pat and Deb Neils.

She was preceded in death by a son, Carlton; a sister Norma Guetschow and a brother, Athneil Raquet.

Funeral services were held July 18 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, kiel, with the Rev. Raymond C. Coombs officiating.

Burial was in the Schleswig Cemetery, Rockville.

Mrs. Louis Konz, aged 55, passed away Sunday at 10 p.m. at the St. Nicholas hospital in Sheboygan, where she had been confined for several days.

The deceased was born in the town of Rhine on March 3, 1886, the daughter of Jacob and Katherine Meyer Kleinhans. Her maiden name was Helena.

She was united in marriage with Louis Konz on November 27, 1906 and the couple immediately located in this city, where Mr. Konz is employed at the Stoelting Bros. Company.

Survivors are her husband; eight children, namely: Mrs. Armand {Eleanor} Bunge, Mrs. Jerome {Evelyn} Goebel and Lester of this city, Mrs. Jarold {Dorothy} Schuepferling, Miss Audrey, and Elmer of Milwaukee; Wilbert of New Holstein, and Elroy at home; six grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Katherine Kleinhans, aged 83, New Holstein; six brothers, William of California, Nicholas of St. Nazianz, Roman of New Holstein, Clarence of Quinney, Zeno of Milwaukee, and Frank of Hilbert; three sisters, Mrs. Edward Klauck and Mrs. Steve Nichols of New Holstein, and Mrs. John Stemper of Clintonville.

Funeral services were conducted this Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, and at 9:30 a.m. at the Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic church. Interment was made in the church cemetery. The deceased was member of the Altar and Christian Mothers' Society.

Mrs. Erna B. Kissinger, age 79, of 55 E. Chicago Street, Kiel, died Tuesday morning at her home, following a brief illness.

The former Erna Erdmann was born October 30, 1908 in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Ernst and Lena Wilke Erdmann.

She attended Town of Rhine schools. On May 24, 1930 she married Elmer Kissinger at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, in the Town of Rhine. The couple farmed in the Town of Rhine until 1957, when they moved to Kiel.

Survivors include her husband, Elmer; one son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Merle, Elkhart Lake; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel; the Rev. Robert Johnston, pastor, of Community United Church of Christ, Elkhart Lake, officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery, in the Town of Rhine. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m Thursday, until the time of service.

William H. Klein of Elkhart Lake died on Thursday night at the home of his brother-in-law, Arthur Kestell, from tuberculosis. The deceased was born June 22, 1884 in Town Rhine a lived to be 30 years of age. He is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Arthur Kestell, Mrs. Fred Zimmermann, and Louise Klein of Elkhart Lake, Peter and Joseph Klein of Kiel. The burial is on Monday afternoon in the local Catholic cemetery with the Rev. Father Krohn officiating.

Mrs. Elizabeth Konz, aged 62, wife of Joseph Konz of Sheboygan, passed away Sunday evening at 9:25 o'clock at the St. Nicholas hospital after a lingering illness.

The deceased was born September 18, 1862, in the town of Rhine, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Meyer. She attended the parochial school in St. Anna.

On January 14, 1902, she was married to Joseph Konz at the St. Anna church by the late Rev. Mr. Scheffen. After their marriage they resided in the town of Russell until 1927 when they moved to Sheboygan.

The following are the survivors: Her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Arno Matzen of New Holstein, Sister M. Romanie of the Franciscan Sisters, Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, and Mrs. Edward Brey of Hartford, Conn.; four sons, Armin, Sylvin, Alfred and Alex of Sheboygan; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Meyer of New Ulm, Minn., Mrs. Nicholas Gregoire of near here, and Mrs. Joseph Turba of Sheboygan; two brothers, John Meyer of New Ulm, Minn., and Matthew Meyer of Chilton, and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Ballhorn Funeral Temple at Sheboygan on Wednesday morning at 8:30 a. m., and at 10 a. m. services were conducted at the St. Anna church, with the Rev. Clemens Kern officiating. Burial was made in the family lot.

Edwin D. Karn, age 71, of Sheboygan, died on Monday, July 16, 2001 at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility.

Edwin was born March 31, 1930 to Edwin Sr. and Esther {Koebke} Karn in Manitowoc. In 1955 he married Lois Engle at St. Luke�s Catholic Church in Two Rivers. He is a graduate of Lincoln High School in Manitowoc, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a bachelor of arts, master of arts and Ph.D. in American history, specializing in frontier history. While at the university, he was an assistant archivist at the State Historical Society. He also attended the Wisconsin Academy of Art in Milwaukee. Edwin was in the U.S. Army Combat Engineers and served in Korea from 1952 to 1953 where he received a purple heart. From 1963 to 1965 he was a civilian historian at the United States Air Force base at Truax Field in Madison.

Moving to Manitowoc in 1965, Edwin began his 31 year career with the UW Center System, teaching American history in Manitowoc, Sheboygan, West Bend and Kettle Moraine Correctional Facility. He was the co-author of �American Expansion: A Book of Maps.� Edwin was active on the university campus in music and drama and was on the University Centers Faculty Senate for 17 years. He was a member of the Western History Association and many other professional historical associations.

His love of singing was realized as a member of the Sheboygan chapter of SPBQSA, at one time president and director, and in the St. John the Evangelist choir in Kohler and the Archdiocesan choir in Milwaukee. Ed was the founder of the John Michael Kohler Arts Center readers and the university readers and read and directed many programs for children in the community. He also loved the out-of-doors, biking and cross-country skiing and camping and canoeing, especially on the family property on the Wisconsin River near Tomahawk.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Betsy and Robert Orvis, Port Washington.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2001, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Kohler, with the Rev. Thomas Lijewski, pastor, officiating and the Rev. Louis Wilimek assisting.

Friends may visit with the family at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Donations will he accepted for a memorial in Edwin�s name.

Mathew Klauck, aged 77, passed away Thursday morning at the St. Nicholas hospital in Sheboygan nine days after the death of his wife. The deceased was born in Mequon, on June 26, 1863, attended the district school and learned the blacksmith trade.

He married Magdalena Junk at School Hill. The couple made their home at Louis Corners for eight years, moving to Hayton later. At both places Mr. Klauck ran a blacksmith shop. In 1904, the family moved to Sheboygan, where Mr. Klauck continued blacksmithing.

For the past year and a half he was employed at the city tool house as blacksmith. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Peter Claver church.

His first wife died on March 21, 1925, and in 1929 he married Mrs. Amelia John of Sheboygan. She died April 8. Two daughters and a son also preceded him in death.

Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Hans Nelson; a son George, a stepson, John Derler, all of Sheboygan; 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; three sisters and five brothers, namely, Frank and John of Sheboygan, Henry of, Withee, Bernard of Milwaukee, Nicholas of Kiel, Mrs. Frank Grott of Cleveland, Mrs. John Meinert and Mrs. Alvis Hem of Kiel.

Funeral services were held on Saturday morning at 8:30 o�clock at the Ramm Funeral Home, and at 9 o�clock at the St. Peter Claver church, with the Rev. C. J. Hausner officiating. Burial was made in the Holy Cross cemetery.

The deceased, nee Kress, was born July 30, 1855, in Sheboygan. She was married May 28, 1878, of which union there survives one of three children, Mrs. Fred Lulloff of this city.

Eight brother and sisters survive: Math. Kress of Milwaukee and John Kress of Centerville; and Mrs. Katherine Sperner and Mrs. John Haynes of Milwaukee, Mrs. John Himmelsbach of Merrill, and Mrs. Theresa Acker, Mrs. Lena Adolph, and Miss Alma Kress, all of Sheboygan. Edna A. Klauck, age 94, a resident at the Morningside Health Center died there on Monday, Dec. 27, 2004.

Edna was born on Sept. 12, 1910 in Virgil, S.D., a daughter of the late David and Margaret {Handel} Heckenlaible. She attended schools in South Dakota. She later traveled to Sheboygan County where she resided and worked at Mission House and graduated from the Plymouth Hospital School of Nursing.

On Oct. 12, 1935 she was united in marriage to Walter Klauck in Kiel. Together they were active in Senior Citizen activities. He preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 1995.

She had been employed at St. Nicholas Hospital as a nurse's aide. Edna greatly enjoyed her family and had a special love for each of her grandchildren and great-granchildren. She was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed gardening and flowers. She spent many hours crocheting, giving her crocheting items to family and friends.

Edna was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, the St. Anne Christian Women and The Catholic Women Charity Club. She spent countless hours volunteering at St. Nicholas Hospital and when her children were younger was involved with them in Scouting.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters, seven brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 29 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church with the Rev. James Connell, pastor, as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Mausoleum.

Friends and family may call at the church, North Eighth and Huron Ave. on Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. until time of Mass.

Mrs. Christina Krieglstein, 63, passed away at St. Nicholas hospital in Sheboygan on Thursday after a lingering illness. She was the wife of Frank Krieglstein, 1303 Michigan ave., and was well known among a large circle of friends and acquaintances in the city.

She was born in Milwaukee December 26, 1860, her maiden name being Christina Schilling, and was married July 18, 1882. They came to Sheboygan in 1882 and Mr. Krieglstein engaged in the meat market business. Some years afterward they moved on a farm near Crystal Lake, and later to Kiel. Several years ago they returned to Sheboygan.

Besides the husband the following ten children survive: George, Minnesota; Frank, Annadale, Minn; William, Chicago; Kuno, Alfred, Sheboygan; Mrs. Elsie Maas, near Kiel; Mrs. Eleanor Casper, St. Nazianz; Mrs. Alma Feld, and Mrs. Emma Kautzer, Sheboygan, and Miss Florence at home. There are also 9 grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted on Monday from the home and at 9 o�clock from Holy Name church. Rt. Rev. Msr. Thill officiated and interment made in the North Side Catholic cemetery.

Mrs. John Kraemer, Jr. ended her life, on Thursday of last week at her home, in the town of Russell, by taking carbolic acid. The deplorable act was committed between 9 and 10 o�clock in the morning. The deceased had been despondent for some time, but nothing unusual had been noticed by her husband. She had gone to the house to dress for a shopping trip to the village, when she failed to appear her husband went to the house, where he found her on her bed, already dead.

Deceased, nee Anna Schuricht, was born on January 13, 1891, in the town of Greenbush. She was married to Mr. Kraemer about eight years ago.

Surviving relatives, are her husband, three children, Elmer, age six years, Matilda, age three years, and Erwin, a baby of three months; two brothers, Gustave and John, and two sisters, Meta and Ella, all of the town of Greenbush. The funeral took place on Monday with services at the house at 1:30 p.m., from there to the Reformed church at Elkhart Lake. Interment in the Reformed cemetery in the town of Rhine. Prof. Frank Grether of Mission House College officiated. The untimely death is mourned by a host of relatives and friends, deceased being liked by all who met her, having been a home loving, kind mother and wife.

Arthur Kasper, aged 25, son of Mrs. Adam Kasper of the town of Rhine, passed away at the Plymouth hospita1 at 3 a. m. Monday after an illness of two weeks and an operation for goitre a week ago.

Born in the town of Rhine on August 2, 1912; the deceased lived on the homestead, operating the farm with his two brothers, Edgar and John, since the death of their father two years ago.

Arthur is survived by his mother, four sisters; Miss Lydia of Milwaukee, Elsie of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. William {Linda} Slotterbeck of the town of Russell; Mrs. Ben. {Norma} Kuhn of Chilton; two brothers, John and Edgar at home.

The body was taken to the Raeder Funeral Home in Elkhart Lake, from where services will be held today at 1:30 p. m., followed at two o�clock by services at the St. Peter Evangelical church in the town of Rhine. The Rev. Paul Thomas will officiate and interment will be made in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Margaret Kramer, 94, a resident of Elkhart Lake since 1869, passed away Tuesday morning at 7:45 o�clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arthur F. Voland here.

Mrs. Kramer was born June 29, 1842, in Germany, and when she was 8 years old, she came with her parents to America and settled in the town of Rhine. She was the daughter of John and Justina Weiskopf Klein, and she was married to Philip Kramer May 14, 1860. The couple lived in the town of Rhine. Mr. Kramer died June 4, 1886, and in 1889 Mrs. Kramer moved to Elkhart Lake.

The deceased is survived by two daughter, Mrs. Fred LaBudde of Elkhart Lake and Mrs. A. F. Voland of here; three sons, Peter and Henry of Elkhart Lake and Louis of Vernon, Texas; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Seven children preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:30 p. m. at the Raeder Funeral Home at Elkhart Lake and at 2 p. m. at the St. John�s Evangelical church, with the Rev. Karl Nagel officiating. Burial will be made in the Russell cemetery.

Louis P. Knier, 68, of 1627 N. 10th St., a retired employe of the Ebenreiter Lumber So., died Friday afternoon at his home.

Born in St. Nazianz on Aug. 12, 1895, he was a son of the late John and Mary Knier and attended St. Gregory's School in St. Nazianz. His marriage to Mary Gebhard was soleminized at St. Martin's Church at Charlestown on April 13, 1920.

They farmed near Kiel and St. Nazianz before coming to Sheboygan in 1948. Mr. Knier worked at the Ebenreiter Lumber Co., until his retirement in 1961.

He was a member of Holy Name Parish, the Holy Name Society, and Sheboygan Memorial Post 9156 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Knier was a veteran of World War I and the recipient of the Purple Heart award.

Kiel - Dr. F. P. Knauf, 69, for 46 years a practicing physician and surgeon at Kiel and vicinity, died suddenly at his home here, 628 Fremont street, at noon Wednesday.

News of his death will come as a shock to his many friends in Manitowoc, Calument, and Sheboygan counties where he was widely known. Apparently in good health Wednesday morning, he had looked after some patients at the hospital, but complained of not feeling well when he returned home. He decided to lie down for a rest, but when called later it was found he had passed away.

He was a member of the Kiel city park board for 24 years and only resigned from it just recently. Much of the planning for the beautification of Kiel is due to the earnest thought he gave to it in collaboration with other park board members. He was health officer at Kiel for many years and was also deeply interested in all social and civic affairs of the community in which he spent so many years of his life.

Dr. Knauf was born at Sheboygan on March 18, 1877, the son of Nicholas and Emilie Knauf. He lived at Brillion until 1880 and at Chilton until 1900.He attended St. Mary�s parochial school, and Canisius college at Buffalo, New York, after which he began the study of medicine at the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Chicago. He was graduated there with the class of 1900 and began the practice of medicine at New Holstein.

In 1903 he moved to Kiel where he formed a partnership with Dr. S. R. Sleyster until 1905 when he started conducting his own practice which he continued until the day of his death.

He was married at Chicago July 1, 1902 to Mary Cecilia Grealy, and there are two daughters, Mrs. Howard {Margaret} Spindler and Mrs. Preston {Katherine} McMurry, both of Mt. Lebanon, Pa., one son, Dr. Frederick A. Knauf of Sheboygan; seven grandchildren. Other survivors are four sisters, Mrs. L. A. Keller and Mrs. F. L. Krekel of Dowagiac, Mich., Mrs. F. E. Raiche and Miss Milly A. Knauf of Marinette; three brothers, William and Dr. N. J. Knauf of Chilton , and Dr. Arthur R. Knauf of Tampa, Fla.

He was a member of the St. Peter and Paul church at Kiel, American Medical association, Wisconsin Medical Society, Calumet County Medical society, Knights of Columbus, Catholic Knights, Catholic Order of Foresters, and the Kiel Association of Commerce.

Funeral services will be held at St. Peter and Paul church at 9 a.m. Saturday, with Rev. F. X. Kheil officiating. Burial will be made at St. Mary�s cemetery at Chilton. The body may be viewed at the Meiselwitz Funeral home beginning this evening.

The Holy Name society of the Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic church of this will have the Rosary recitation at the church for the departed member on Friday evening at 7:30 o�clock p.m.

Lancaster - Pearl M. Kohlmann, 78, formerly of New Holstein and Plymouth, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998 in Lancaster, where she has resided since 1986. She was born Aug. 26, 1919 in Brillion, the daughter of the late Fred and Alghanie Wriedt Longrie. She attended schools in New Holstein. She graduated from New Holstein High School in 1938. Pearl was employed as a secretary for the Sheboygan School District for approximately 12 years. Surviving are two sons, Keith {Judith} of Western Springs, Ill. and Tim {Susan} of Ashland, Ore.; two daughters, Jan {Steve} Muellenbach of Dayton, Ohio and Carol {Mark} Helmke of Lancaster; nine grandchildren; four brothers, Fred Longrie of Little Chute, James Longrie of Washington, Roger Longrie of White Lake, Mich., and Terrence Longrie of Cleveland, Wis.; three sisters, Florecence Keltz of Michigan, Genevieve Opits of Thonatossa, Fla., and Ruth Sauthoff of Pewaukee. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; and two brothers. Funeral services will be held today {Thursday} at 11 a.m. at the Sippel Funeral Home in New Holstein. Burial will be in the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in New Holstein. A memborial fund will be established in her name.

Gerhart F. Krueger, 86, formerly of County Road PPP Sheboygan Falls, died Friday afternoon, December 16, 2005 at Harmony in Sheboygan where he had resided for the past 4 years. Gerhart was born on March 20, 1919, the son of the late Herman and Augusta {Kolar} Krueger. He attended grade school in Kaukauna. Gerhart served in teh U.S. Army during World War II from 1944 to 1947. On November 9, 1940 he married the late Alice Petrie in Kaukauna. She preceded him in death on July 30, 2001. Gerhart worked at the Kohler Co. for 45 years as a machinist. Previously he worked at Reliance Construction Co.

Gerhart was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls and the Kohler Quarter Century Club. He is survived by two daughters, Patricia {Victor} Seibel of Kiel and Linda {Jim} Fetterer of North Carolina; four sons, Ronald {Marlene} Krueger of Plymouth, Robert {LaVerne} Krueger of Sheboygan, Jeffrey {Cindy} Krueger of Sheboygan Falls, and Steven {Paula} Krueger of Plymouth; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and a sister Myrtle Broker of Chilton. Gerhart was preceded in death by his wife and great- grandson, Joshua Weisbroecker. Alice Cornelia Krueger, 81, of 603 county highway PPP, Sheboygan Falls, died Monday evening, July 30, 2001, at the home of her daughter in Kiel. She was born March 31, 1920 in the town of Stockbridge, the daughter of the late Leonard and Mary Benzschawel Petrie. She attended Sacred Heart School in Sherwood. On Nov. 9, 1940, Alice married Gerhart F. Krueger in Kaukauna. She was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls and enjoyed sewing, gardening, crocheting, quilting and crafts. Alice is survived by her husband, Gerhart, two daughters, Patricia {Victor} Seibel of Kiel and Linda {Jim} Fetterer of North Carolina, four sons, Ronald {Marlene} Krueger of Plymouth, Robert {LaVerne} Krueger of Sheboygan, Jeffrey {Cindy} Krueger of Sheboygan Falls and Steven {Paula} Krueger of Plymouth, 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy {Wayland} Preder of Washington, Janet {Robert} Ferris of New Berlin and Shirley {Rodney} Dobe of Illinois, and two brothers, Paul {Eileen} Petrie of Stockbridge and Anthony {Barbara} Petrie of Stockbridge. She was preceded in death by her parents, one great- grandson, Joshua Weisbroecker; three sisters and two brothers.

Albert T. Kistner, 64, formerly of 1325 N. Ninth St., and a resident of Sunny Ridge for the past two years, died there early this morning.

"Abbie" Kistner was born April 13, 1920, in Sheboygan, son of Albert and Elizabeth Dreps Kistner.

He attended local schools and was employed by the City of Sheboygan for 14 years, retiring in 1977 due to ill health.

Mr. Kistner was a member of the City Employees Association and Deputy Sherriffs Association. He was also a member of Holy Name Catholic Church.

He is survived by four brothers of Sheboygan, one brother in Oshkosh; and a sister of Kohler.

He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at noon at Holy Name Church by the Rev. James Hess, co-pastor. The Mass will be preceded by family rites at 11:30 at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A vigil service will be held there at 7 p.m.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.

Albert Kistner, Sr., well-known Sheboygan resident, passed away at his home, 1325 N. 9th street, Friday night after a short illness.

Mr. Kistner was born in Baden, Germany on Dec. 7, 1871, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Celestine Kistner. He came to this country with his parents at the age of 12 and settled in Sheboygan where he had resided ever since. His marriage to Elizabeth Dreps was solemnized at Holy Name church on May 31, 1902, by the late Msgr. D. F. Thill.

He was employed at the Phoenix Chair company for 55 years and was honored by the firm for this fine record. For the past five years he had been retired.

A faithful member of Holy Name church he was also affiliated with the Holy Name society and was also very active in the Liederkranz Singing society of which he was treasurer for 52 years. He possessed a genial disposition and was well-liked by all who knew him.

Surviving him are his wife and the following children: Alphonse, Anton, John, Joseph, Louis, Albert, Jr., and Bernard, Sheboygan; Mrs. Bert {Cecelia} Fowleer, Sheboygan Falls, and Mrs. Eugene {Mary Ann} Weeden, Kohler, and six grandchildren. Three sisters and a brother and a grandson preceded him in death.

Funeral services are tentatively planned for Tuesday morning at Holy Name church. The rt. Rev. Msgr. Philipp Dreis will be the celebrant and burial will take place in the family lot in Calvary cemetery.

Friends may call at the Gerend Funeral home from Sunday afternoon at 3 until time of services.

Alphonse P. Kistner, 88, of 2131 St. Seventh St., died Sunday, May 23, 1993 at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility.

He was born in Sheboygan, Oct. 30, 1904, a son of the late Albert and Elizabeth Dreps Kistner.

He attended local schools and served in the U.S. Army Ordinance, during World War II. He was employed at the Sheboygan Post Office for 26 years, retiring in 1969.

On Oct. 1, 1942, he married Ruth in Sheboygan.

She survives him, as does a sister of Kohler; and two brothers, both of Sheboygan; a sister-in-law of Oshkosh and a brother-in-law, Eugene of Santa Barbara, Calif.

He was preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.

Al was a member of St. Clement Catholic Parish, its ushers society, the Amvets, Turners Society, the N.A.R.F.E. and the Oldtimers Baseball Assn.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Thursday, at St. Clement Church by the Rev. Donald Peters. The mass will be preceded by family rites at 9:30 a.m. at the Habermann Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday. A parish vigil will be held there at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday.

A memorial fund has been established in Alphonse Kistner's name.

Funeral services for Ann Elizabeth Kistner, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kistner, 1535 N. Twenty-first street, who died early Wednesday morning at St. Nicholas hospital, were held Wednesday afternoon at Gerend's Funeral home. Burial was made on the family lot in Calvary cemetery.

Survivors include the parents; the maternal grandparents, Mrs. Anna Raabe, and the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Kistner, all of Sheboygan.

Anton P. Kistner, 65, of 611 N. Water St., died Sunday afternoon at St. Nicholas Hospital after a short illness.

He was born in Sheboygan, Nov. 26, 1906, the son of the late Albert and Elizabeth Kistner. He attended local schools.

On Oct. 17, 1936, he married the former Sophie Azerskis.

Mr. Kistner was a retired employee of Hayssen Co.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Dennis, Madison, and Ronald, Rochester, N.Y.; a daughter, Mrs. Anthony {Patricia} Marver, Sheboygan Falls, six brothers, Alphonsus, John, Joseph, Albert and Bernard, all of Sheboygan, and Louis, Oshkosh; a sister, Mrs. Eugene Weeden, Kohler, and seven grandchildren.

The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Name Catholic Church, with the Rev. Laurence Waleske, pastor, celebrant. Mass will follow 9:30 family rites at the Gerend-Habermann Funeral Home, with burial in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday. A parish vigil will be held there at 6:30.

Carol Mae Kistner, 2-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kistner, N. Twenty-Ninth street, passed away Sunday night at 6:30 after a short illness. She was born Dec. 1, 1939.

Survivors are her parents and a brother, Gordon, 4 years old. The body may be viewed at the Gerend Funeral home from tonight until time of services.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 7:30 at the Gerend Funeral home, and at 8 o'clock with an angel mass at St. Dominic's church, the Rev. George Knackert officiating. Interment will be in the Kistner lot at Calvary cemetery.

Gordon Kistner, 40, of 1807 Saemann Ave., died early Sunday at St. Nicholas Hospital where he had been a patient for two days.

He was born in Sheboygan on Oct. 28, 1936, a son of Mrs. Cecelia and the late John C. Kistner.

He was a lifelong resident of Sheboygan, working at the Mayline Co. and previously at Sheboygan Iron and Metal Co.

Surviving are his mother; one brother, James, rural Sheboygan, and a niece and nephew.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday with a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Dominic Catholic Church, the Rev. Cyril Volz, pastor, celebrant, following family rites at 9:30 a.m. at the Nickel-Lippert Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.

A parish vigil will be held there at 7 this evening.

A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Kistner's name for the Sheboygan County Rehabilitation Center.

John C. Kistner, 66, of 1807 Saemann Ave., died at St. Nicholas Hospital early today after a short illness.

He was born in Sheboygan Oct. 26, 1908, a son of the late Albert and Elizabeth Kistner. On May 12, 1934, he married Cecelia Schaller in Kiel.

Mr. Kistner was a truck driver for the City of Sheboygan for six years, retiring in 1973.

He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Parish and its Holy Name Society.

Surviving are his widow; two sons, Gordon and James of Sheboygan; two grandchildren, five brothers, Alphonse, Joseph, Albert and Bernard, all of Sheboygan, and Louis of Oshkosh, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Ann Weezen of Kohler. He was preceded in death by one daughter, one sister and one brother.

Funeral services will be held Monday with an 11 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Dominic Catholic Church, with the Rev. Roger Zens, as celebrant. The Mass will follow family rites at 10:30 a.m. at Nickel's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday.

A parish vigil will be held at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Louis `Louie' A. Kistner, 75, of Oshkosh, formerly of Sheboygan, passed away September 9, 1990 at Mercy Medical Center, Oshkosh.

He was born August 15, 1915 in Sheboygan, son of Albert and Elizabeth Dreps Kistner.

He married Magdaline `Madge' Raabe on September 14, 1940 in Sheboygan. He was owner and operator of Kistner Tiny Tap and Mobile Service Station, until he moved to Oshkosh, where he was owner and operator of Club Oshkosh from 1955-1974. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Oshkosh and a life member of the Elks Club and the Eagles Club. Louie was on the Town of Oshkosh Volunteer Fire Department for ten yearss and was employed in maintenance at Bank One in Oshkosh for the past four years.

Survivors include his wife, of Oshkosh; one son and daughter-in-law of Saginaw, Michigan; one daughter and son-in-law of New Berlin; four grandchildren; one sister of Sheboygan; and three brothers, all of Sheboygan.

Services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Oshkosh. The Rev. John Becker will be officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, in Sheboygan, on Wednesday, at 2:30 p.m.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 N. Eagle Street, Oshkosh. Prayer service will be Tuesday at 7 p.m.

A memorial has been established.

Pankratz Kistner, aged 66, suffered an attack of cerebral hemmorhage and died in the comfort station in Fountain park at 6:30 a.m., today. He had stopped in the station on his way to work at the Sheboygan Chair company.

Albert Clanderman, a patrolman, saw Mr. Kistner go in the comfort station, and ten minutes later he was notified by a man who went in the place, that Mr. Kistner was dead.

Coroner C. N. Sonnenburg, who was called to investigate, gave the verdict that death was due to cerebral hemmorhage. The body was removed to the Ballhorn Funeral Temple.

Mr. Pankratz was born on May 8, 1863, in Eleckerheim Amt Raststadt in Baden, Germany, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Celestine Kistner. At the age of 20, he came to this country, settling in Sheboygan, where he made his home continuously the remainder of his life. He was a faithful employee of the Sheboygan Chair company for the last forty-six years. For several years he made his home with is brother, Albert Kistner, 1325 N. Ninth street.

He is survived by his brother, and one sister, Mrs. Dora Mitick of Waukesha. His parents and two sisters preceded him in death. He was a member of the St. John's Young Men's society, St. Boniface society, Liederkranz Singing society and Holy Name society.

Mrs. Cecelia Kistner, 74, of 1807 Saemann Ave., died unexpectedly at her home Saturday.

The former Cecelia Schaller was born in Kiel, Nov. 27, 1910, the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Van De Loo Schaller.

On May 12, 1934, she married John Kistner at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Kiel. He died February 15, 1975.

She was a member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church, Christian Women's Society and a life member of the Apostalate of Suffering.

Mrs. Kistner is survived by one son of Sheboygan, two grandchildren, and one sister of Sheboygan Falls.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, one son, three sisters, and two brothers.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Rev. John Theisen, pastor, as celebrant.

Brief family services will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the Nickel-Lippert Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

A combined rosary will be held at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Wednesday by the parish and the Apostalate of Suffering.

Francis J. Koehler, 66, of 1834 Superior Ave., died unexpectedly at his home Monday morning.

He was born July 15, 1917, in Calumet County, son of Fred and Mary Groeschl Koehler.

On Sept. 18, 1940, he married {Omitted for Privacy} in Chilton. The couple moved to Sheboygan in 1942.

Mr. Koehler served in the Army in 1945.

For 33 years, Mr. Koehler was employed as a truck driver for Van Der Vaart Brick and Building Supply Co., retiring in 1980.

He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, the Usher Society of the Church, Knights of Columbus Council 722, and the Teamsters Retiree Club.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, three daughters, all of Sheboygan, and one daughter of San Diego, Calif.; eight grandchildren; two brothers, one of Manitowoc and one of Sun Prairie, and a sister of Sheboygan.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

A funeral Mass will be offered Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Dominic Church, preceded by family rites at 9:30 a.m. at Nickel-Lippert Funeral Home. The Rev. John Theisen, associate pastor, will officiate. Entombment will be in Garden of Peace Mausoleum.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and on Thursday until the time of services. A parish vigil will be held there at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Koehler's name.

Fred L. Koehler, 80, formerly of 515A Center Ave., died Thursday afternoon at the Anna M. Reiss Home where he had resided the past three years.

Born in the Town of Woodville in Calumet County on Sept. 5, 1888, he was a son of the late Joseph and Theresa Koehler.

On Nov. 5, 1915, he married the former Mary Groeschl at St. Charles Catholic Church at Charlesburg. She died in 1947.

The couple had farmed near Chilton until 1939. In 1941 they moved to Sheboygan where Mr. Koehler was employed by the Motor Transport Co. until his retirement in 1953.

He was a member of St. Clement's Catholic Church.

Survivors include three sons, Francis of Sheboygan, Sylvester of Manitowoc and Vernon of Sun Prairie; a daughter, Mrs. Christ {Marcella} Reimer, Sheboygan; 15 grandchildren; and four brothers, Leonard, Claude and Norbert, all of Hilbert, and Leo of Kaukauna.

A son, three brothers, and a sister preceded him in death.

A requiem Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Clement's Catholic Church by the Rev. Russell Stommel, associate pastor, following brief family rites at the Gerend-Habermann Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Stockbridge.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Sunday. A parish vigil will be held there at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Charles Kaeser, 83, of 418 Center Ave., died early this morning in Sheboygan Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born Oct. 4, 1886, in Howards Grove, a son of the late August and Katherine Kaeser. The family moved to Sheboygan where he attended the Horace Mann grade school and Sheboygan Business College.

On Oct. 7, 1911, he married Miss Emma Pitschler of Sheboygan in the Zion Reformed Church parsonage. She died on Sept. 17, 1959.

He had worked as a mason in Sheboygan for more than 50 years and retired in 1955. He was a 50-year member of the Bricklayers, Masons, and Plasterers Local 11 and also served on the City of Sheboygan's contractor licensing committee for five years until 1967.

Survivors include a son, Robert, and two daughters, Miss Charlotte Kaeser and Mrs. Lila Reimer, all of Sheboygan; four grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Louise Landwehr, Sheboygan Falls.

He was preceded in death by a son, one brother, and a sister.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels with the Rev. George Mohr, pastor of Zion United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday.

Miss Charlotte Kaeser, 54, of 1428 Jefferson Ave., died unexpectedly at 5 p.m. Friday at St. Nicholas Hospital. She had been stricken with an apparent heart attack at her home earlier in the afternoon.

Born in Sheboygan on Nov. 29, 1915, a daughter of the late Charles and Emma Kaeser, she attended the U.S. Grant Grade School and Central High School. She was confirmed at Zion United Church of Christ.

Miss Kaeser was a self-employed seamstress, working at her residence.

She is a member of Zion Church and the Shuttlecraft and Weaver's Association.

Survivors include a brother, Robert, and a sister, Mrs. Lilah Reimer, both of Sheboygan.

A brother preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels with the Rev. George Mohr, pastor of Zion Church, officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.

Donald Charles Kaeser, 26, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kaeser, 418 Center avenue, died early today at St. Nicholas hospital after a lingering illness.

Born May 15, 1924, in Sheboygan, he attended U.S. Grant and Washington schools and graduated from Central High school with the class of 1942. He was employed at the Lakeside Bottling company.

A World War II veteran, Mr. Kaeser served as a sergeant in the U.S. army air corps for three years in the China-Burma-India theatre of operations.

He was a member of Zion Reformed church and the Sheboygan Camera club.

Survivors are his parents; two sisters, Mrs. Henry {Lilah} Reimer of Sheboygan and Miss Charlotte at home; and a brother, Robert, Sheboygan.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Ballhorn Funeral chapels with the Rev. E. H. Wessler, pastor of Zion Reformed church, officiating. Burial will be on the family lot in Wildwood cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the funeral chapels from Tuesday morning until the time of the services.

Valentine {Hanna} Karstaedt, 70, of Route 1, Sheboygan Falls, died Monday, December 5, 1988 at St. Nicholas Hospital, after an extended illness.

He was born June 30, 1918 in the Town of Schleswig, a son of the late Fred and Elizabeth Koeser Karstaedt.

Valentine Karstaedt married Elizabeth, June 12, 1943 at Bethlehem United Church of Christ, Town of Schleswig. After marriage, the couple lived and farmed on the Mahler Homestead. Hanna was also employed as a mason by the Reliance and Gabes Construction Companies. Later he worked at the Diecast Division of Tecumseh Products Company, retiring in 1980, due to health. Hanna was a member of Saron United Church of Christ and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Funeral services for Valentine {Hanna} Karstaedt will be held Friday, at 1:30 p.m. at Saron United Church of Christ, in the Town of Sheboygan Falls. The Rev. James Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Louis Corners, Town of Schleswig.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, one of Sheboygan Falls and the other of Kiel; two daughters of Sheboygan; 12 grandchildren; five sisters, two of Kiel; one of Newton; one of Cleveland; and one of Manitowoc. He was preceded in death by one daughter and two sisters.

A memorial fund has been established to Saron United Church of Christ in Mr. Karstaedt's name.

Mrs. John Kuhn, 77, of LaHabra Calif., a former resident of Ada, died July 6 at LaHabra. Burial was at Whittier, Calif.

Mrs. Kuhn and her husband operated the Kuhn and Boerger Market at Ada for many years.

The former Bertha Buchholz and her husband celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in February.

Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Henry {Norma} Boerger and Mrs. Gaylord {Viola} Winter, both of LaHabra, and Mrs. Elmer {Verna} Woechting, Encinetas, Calif.; a son, Edward, of Los Angeles; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two brothers, William Buchholz Sr., Kiel, and Herman Buchholz, Town of Schleswig; and a sister, Mrs. Ida Gast, Milwaukee.

Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine Kaeser, 81, who died on Friday morning, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Ballhorn Funeral chapels. Mrs. Kaeser, widow of the late August Kaeser, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Louise Landwehr, 1314B N. Eighth street.

The services at the funeral home will be conducted by the Rev. E. H. Wessler, pastor of Zion Reformed church, and burial will be made in Wildwood cemetery.

Mrs. Kaeser was born in Town Herman, near Ada, on Dec. 3, 1867, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Burkhardt. She attended school at Ada and was confirmed at the Bethel Reformed church in Ada. On June 22, 1883, she was married to August Kaeser. The couple moved to Sheboygan in 1886. Mr. Kaeser died in 1934.

The survivors include three children, Mrs. Louis Landwehr, Charles and William Kaeser of Sheboygan, 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Three children preceded her in death.

Mrs. Kaeser made her home on N. Calumet drive until about two months ago.

Adam Kaesermann, a native of Bern, Switzerland, died Sunday at St. Nicholas hospital, aged 74 years. The funeral took place Wednesday from the home of his brother John Kaeserman, on Superior avenue. Interment in Wildwood.

Otto Koeppen the seventeen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Koeppen died at his home 1822 Maryland Ave., Saturday morning.

The funeral was held from his late home Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 and from the Immanuel church at 2 o'clock. The services were conducted by Rev. Burger. Interment was in the Lutheran cemetery.

August Kramer, aged 72 years, a native of Germany who came to Sheboygan in 1863, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, at his home, 836 ashland avenue, leaving a widow, three sons and three daughters.

Fred Kaesermann, of the town of Sheboygan, died Sunday evening, Feb. 13, at St. Nicholas hospital, aged 42 years.

John E. Kapellen, age 90, formerly of Plymouth, passed away late Thursday evening at the Calumet Homestead in New Holstein, where he had been a resident the past 5 years. He was born October 11, 1897, in the Town of Sheboygan Falls, a son of the late Cornelius and Dorothea Roitt Kapellen. On November 20, 1923, he was married to Laura Lorge at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. The couple lived in the Plymouth area following their marriage. She preceded him in death on May 18, 1979. He had been employed at the Huson-Ziegler store in Plymouth and Borden Foods and had farmed in the Town of Plymouth before his retirement. He is a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth and a member, and past Grand Knight, of the Plymouth Chapter of the Knights of Columbus No. 1789. He had also served as financial secretary of the Catholic Knights. Survivors include two sons, Robert {Marcella} of Green Valley, Arizona, and Roger {Stella} of Chilton; one daughter, Mrs. Wilbur {Joann} Grossheim of Hartland, WI., ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, two brothers and four sisters. The funeral mass for Mr. Kapellen will be Monday morning, at 10:30 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth, preceded by family rites at the Wittkopp Funeral Home at 10 a.m., the Rev. Mrs. Jennie Kellner, 92, formerly of Route 4, Sheboygan Falls, died early today at the Morningside Nursing Home where she had been a resident the past year. She was born Dec. 20, 1896, in St. Anna, a daughter of Nicholas and Mary Roltgen Lorge. On Sept. 28, 1916, she was married to Albert Kellner in Plymouth. He died Dec. 16, 1967. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Sheboygan Falls, and its Christian Mothers Society and Apostolate of Suffering. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Finess {Marion} Grube of Sheboygan, and Mrs. Robert {Betty} Schnettler of Route 4, Sheboygan Falls; a son, Harold of Battle Creek, Mich.; 11 grandchildren and five great- grandhchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Lora Kapellen of Plymouth. Funeral services for Mrs. John {Laura} Kapellen, 77, rt. 3, Plymouth, who died unexpectedly Friday morning, May 18, at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital, were held at 10 a.m. yesterday {May 21} at the Huss Funeral Home, Plymouth, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Plymouth. The Rev. Hilarion Mikalofsky, associate pastor of the church, officiated and burial was in the parish cemetery. The former Laura Lorge was born Mar. 7, 1902 in St. Cloud, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Roltgen Lorge. She attended St. John the Baptist grade school and was married to John Kapellen on Nov. 20, 1923 at St. John�s. The couple resided in the town of Plymouth, where they farmed until retiring. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in November. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers and Daughters of Isabella of the church and the Service Star Legion of Plymouth. She is survived by her husband, two sons, Roger, rt. 2, Chilton and Robert, Tucson, Ariz.; one daughter, Mrs. Bill {Joann} Grossheim, Hartland, 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandchild, two sisters and two brothers.

Death Tuesday last week on her farm near Cleveland of Herman Zimmermann's mother {Mrs. Klewe}. The deceased was born 13 April 1822 in Hanover, and married Mr. Zimmermann in 1846, coming with him to America in 1858. Mr. Zimmermann died in Town Meeme and the widow later married Mr. Klewe, who survives her. She is also survived by 3 children from her first marriage. The funeral took place Thursday.

At 2 o'clock this afternoon the funeral services of Frank Kirch who committed suicide by leaping into the Sheboygan river, were held from the undertaking parlors of the S.D. Hanchett Furniture Co. with interment at Wildwood. A brother at Port Washington declined to bear any of the expense and the city will meet the expense incurred.

Harold Arthur Koeser, 20, of Route 1, Sheboygan, died this morning at 6:45 o'clock at St. Nicholas hospital after a long illness. He was born Sept. 13, 1920, son of Herman and Dorothy Koeser, and attended the district and public schools and Sheboygan High school.

He was a member of the Ebenezer Reformed church and the Men's Brotherhood. Survivors are the father, Herman Koeser, of Franklin, one sister, Mrs. Sidney Kaye, Racine, and two aunts, Mrs. Albert Manske, city, and Mrs. Valentine Dickmann, Kiel. For the past seven years he had made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Westpfahl, Route 1, Sheboygan.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Ballhorn Funeral temple, the Rev. E.C. Jaberg officiating, with burial in Wildwood cemetery. The body can be viewed at the funeral home from Saturday night on.

Herman Koeser, 76, of town Herman, passed away Monday at 12:30 a.m. at the St. Nicholas hospital, Sheboygan, following a lingering illness.

He was born in town Meeme, Sept. 26, 1865, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Koeser, and when he was two months old the family moved to town Herman and he resided there ever since.

He was married in 1898 to Upolonia Maurer of Kiel and she died in 1917. In 1919 he was married again, to Dora Sparke, who passed away in 1922. A son, Harold, also preceded him in death in 1941.

Survivors are a son, Arthur, of Sheboygan, and a sister, Henrietta Deckman, of Kiel.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Walter H. Ahrens Funeral home at Howards Grove, the Rev. E.C. Jaberg of Sheboygan officiating. Burial will be made in the Sheboygan Falls cemetery.

John A. Kunstman, 85, 916 Huron Ave., died Tuesday afternoon at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness.

He was born Jan. 19, 1900 at Rhinehardt, Russia, a son of the late Gottfried and Marie Bassner Kunstman.

In 1912, he came to the United States and Sheboygan with his family.

In 1932, he married Helen Bertel of Sheboygan, at St. Mark Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death in 1941.

On July 12, 1952, he married Mrs. Esther Dreyer Pick of Sheboygan at Ebenezer Lutheran Church.

Mr. Kunstman was employed at Armour Leather Co. for 15 years, retiring in 1963.

He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, the church's Bible study group and the senior citizen's group. He also was a member of the St. John's Kitchen Band of Plymouth and Sheboygan.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Vivian) Petersohn, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Richard (Shirley) Fazalare, Chicago; Mrs. Wayne (Beverly) Pfister, and Mrs. James (Carol) Wolfgram, both of Sheboygan; one sone, John, Sheboygan; four stepsons, Martin and Amos Pick, both of Sheboygan, Arnold Pick, Plymouth and Edwin Pick, Deerfield, Canada; five step-daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Lorraine) Methfessel and Mrs. Clyde (Deloris) Dhein, both of Sheboygan, Mrs. Luella Dennerlein and Mrs. James (Florence) Waterman, both of Plymouth, Mrs. Robert (Janice) Wacha, Kansas; 41 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and five brothers, Ernst, Sheboygan, William, Elk Grove, Ill., August and Christ, both of Phoenix and Jacob, St. Louis. He was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Dan L. Siedenburg, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery.

Petty Officer, third class, Kenneth Kletzien, 21, of the U.S. Coast Guard Quartermaster Corps, has been reported killed in action by the U.S. Navy Department in a telegram received here this morning by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugo A. Kletzien, 1700 N. Thirteenth street.

The text of the telegram was as follows:

"The navy department deeply regrets to inform you that your son, Kenneth, was killed in action in the performance of his duty and in the service of his country. His body has not been recovered. In behalf of the Coast Guard I extend to you sincerest sympathy."

Kenneth was the only son of Hugo and Frieda Kletzien and was born on December 21, 1921 in this city. He attended elementary school at the Jefferson school, graduating in 1936. He then attended Sheboygan High school for two years before entering North High school in 1938.

Active in School

During the two years spent at North High school Kenneth was very active in several school organizations and won the coveted "S" pin award for his work with the stage crew of the dramatics department. He graduated with a very good record in June 1940.

He was a member of the local Sea Scout organization and also participated as a member of the Boy Scout Drum and Bugle Corps of this city. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church and was confirmed there in 1936, he also attended Sunday school and Bible classes at that church.

Immediately after his graduation from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard, being called to active duty in August of 1940. He then reported to the Ellis Island training base for basic instruction. Next he entered the Coast Guard school at Grand Haven, Michigan.

Following his graduation from that training school he went to active duty with the Coast Guard on the Atlantic Coast.

In North Atlantic

His parents had not received any letters from him for the past six weeks, but last week they received a letter which re-affirmed their faith that he was all right. According to all information they have received he was on duty with the Coast Guard in the North Atlantic.

Kenneth was last home in December 1942 on furlough, since that time he has remained in service constantly. He is the twenty-sixth Sheboygan County youth to give his life in the performance of his duty with the nation's armed forces.

His father Hugo A. Kletzien has been employed at the Schreier Malting company for the past nine years.

He is survived by his parents and several aunts and uncles and other relatives in this city.

Howards Grove - Mrs. Albert Kolberg, 62, passed away on Friday afternoon at 5 o'clock at her home after an illness of four years. The former Annie Grunewald, Mrs. Kolberg was born on Sept. 12, 1880, in the town of Herman, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Grunewald.

She was married on Sept. 29, 1903, in the town of Herman. After their marriage the couple resided in Howards Grove where they conducted a general merchandise store for many years. Mrs. Kolberg was a faithful member of the Trinity Lutheran church near Howards Grove all of her life and a member of the church choir for 20 years.

Always a kind and loving mother, Mrs. Kolberg put her duties to her family before other interests.

She is survived by her husband and six sons, Harvey, Harry, and Albert, Jr., Howards Grove; LeRoy and William of Sheboygan; Howard of the United States Army stationed overseas; seven grandchildren; four brothers, August and Herman, Town of Herman; George and Hugo of Sheboygan, and two sisters, Mrs. Alvin (Leona) Kaufmann of Sheboygan, and Mrs. Lillie Hardwig of Illinois.

Funeral services will be held on Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in the Walter H. Ahrens Funeral home in Howards Grove and at 2 o'clock at the Trinity Lutheran church. The Rev. Walter Kitzerow will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran cemetery in the town of Sheboygan Falls.

Friends can view the body beginning at 10 o'clock Sunday morning at the funeral home. The casket will not be opened at church.

Frank Kaker, 48, of 2310 Indiana Ave., died suddenly early this morning at St. Nicholas Hospital.

He was born in Sheboygan on August 18, 1906, the son of the late Valentine and Theresa Kaker. His marriage to Viola Drews was performed in Sheboygan on Sept. 14, 1946, and they have resided here since.

He was employed at the Ross Glove Company. He was a member of Sloga Society and Zieggy's Club.

Survivors are his wife; three sons and a daughter, namely: ...; two brothers: ...; and two sisters, ... Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister.

Mrs. Charles Klein, 61, of R. 1, Waldo, died late Tuesday evening at the Plymouth Hospital after an illness of two weeks.

The former Ilma Gartman, she was born March 4, 1899, in the Town of Wilson, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gartman. She was married Dec. 13, 1923, to Charles Klein.

The couple made their home on a farm in the Town of Lyndon since their marriage.

Survivors are her husband; one daughter, ...; two sons, Marvin and ..., at home; three grandchildren, and a brother, Arnold Gartman, Sheboygan Falls.

One son, Richard, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Wittkopp Funeral Home, Plymouth, with the Rev. Larry Winebrenner, pastor of the Waldo Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Lyndon Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral services for Mrs. Charles Klein, of the Town of Lyndon, who died Dec. 20, were held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Wittkopp Funeral Home in Plymouth.

The Rev. Larry Winebrenner, pastor of the Waldo Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in the Lyndon Cemetery. During the services Mrs. Glen Holbrook and Mrs. Kenneth Saemann sang, "Nearer My God to Thee" and "The Old Rugged Cross", the accompanist was Mrs. Mabel Nagel. The organist was Mrs. Arnold Miller.

Pallbearers were Delmar Hoopman, Frank Hughes, Oscar Rosenthal, LaVerne Stokdyk, John Murphy, and Dr. John Harmeling.

The body of a 36-year-old farmer was found Sunday hanging from a beam in a hay loft on a farm near Waldo.

Authorities said Marvin (Chuck) Klein of R. 1, Waldo, took his own life, although members of his family said they knew of no motive. He had not been in ill health.

The body was found by Klein's father, Charles, at 2:15 p.m.

Dr. Reed M. Simpson, Sheboygan County coroner, attributed death to suicide by hanging.

Mr. Kleiin was born on the Town of Lyndon farm of his parents, Charles and the late Ilma Klein, Feb. 25, 1928. He attended the former Whittier School and was graduated from Waldo High School.

He served in the U.S. armed forces for two years - November, 1950, to November, 1952 - and since then farmed at the home of his father.

He never married.

Mrs. Anna Kath, 58, wife of Carl Kath, 2120 S. Eleventh street, died at 11:05 a.m Sunday at Memorial hospital.

She was born in Bad-Polzin, Pommern, Germany, May 5, 1879, and was married there to Carl Kath on April 18, 1902. Twenty-five years ago they came to this country and settled in Sheboygan. Mrs Kath is survived by her husband and three sons, Walter, Ernst and Frank, all of this city; four grandchildren and several sisters and brothers in Germany.

Funeral rites will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Ramm Funeral home with the Rev. Edward Krause officiating. Interment will be made in Lutheran cemetery. Friends may view the body from 8 o'clock this evening until the time of services.

Edgar W. Katte, 47, of 2614 S. 14th St., died Sunday morning at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital.

A son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Katte, he was born April 2, 1912, in Sheboygan, and attended St. Peter Claver School and Sheboygan High School.

He was married to Miss Althea Gandre on Oct. 3, 1936.

Mr. Katte was employed as a salesman at the Wisconsin Public Service Corp. for the past seven years and prior to that time worked at the Sheboygan Leather Co.

He was a member of the Sheboygan Barbershop Chorus and the Men's Club of the Wisconsin Public Service Corp.

Funeral services for Edgar W. Katte, 2613 S. 14th St., who died Sunday at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital, were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Ramm Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph Wanner of St. Peter Claver Church officiating. Burial was on the family lot in Lutheran Cemetery.

During the services Howard Jerving sang "Jesus, Lover of My Soul" and "The Lord's Prayer." He was accompanied by Mrs. Loraine Hardy.

Christ J. Kaiser, 66, a resident of 424 Wisconsin avenue, died this morning at 1:50 o�clock at Memorial hospital after an illness of three years. He was born on April 15, 1877, at Haffantal, Russia, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kaiser.

In 1909 he came to America and settled in Bison, Kansas. After residing there for two years he moved to Lamar, Colo., where on January 20, 1912, he was married to Miss Mary Meyer, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Meyer. The couple resided there for two years and then lived in Kimball, Nebr. From this latter city they came directly to Sheboygan on March 11, 1923, and have resided here since.

Surviving Mr. Kaiser, who has been employed in several factories in the city, are his wife, a son, Henry, two daughters, Mrs. Christ (Dolly) Schimpf and Mrs. Elmer (Lydia) Tetschlet, all of Sheboygan, one brother, Henry of Canada, seven grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a son, Christ, Jr., two sisters, one brother and two grandchildren.

The funeral services will be conducted on Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o�clock in the Ballhorn Funeral chapels and a t 2 o�clock in Ebenezer Lutheran church. The Rev. Erich Keller will officiate and burial will be in the family lot in Lutheran cemetery.

Friends may call at the chapels to view the body beginning tonight.

Impressive funeral services were held Thursday for William A. Knilans, 1328 N. 3rd St., prominent local businessman and a leader in Sheboygan�s musical circles.

Mr. Knilans, 83, died Monday night at St. Nicholas hospital. He was the founder and president of the Sheboygan Paint co.

The Rev. Wilford H. Evans, pastor of the First Congregational Church, and the Rev. James G. Saint Jr. of the First Presbyterian Church officiated at 2 o�clock services at the Ballhorn Funeral chapels.

The Rev. Mr. Evans delivered the eulogy and conducted the committal rites at the grave on the Knilans family lot in Wildwood cemetery.

As the prelude and postlude organ selections, Jean Howard Elvers played three Bach chorales and Barnby�s �Crossing the Bar�. During the chapel services she played Mendelssohn�s �Consolation�.

Pallbearers were Otis Marquardt, Hugo Janssen, Reuben Nennig, Herman Grohskopf, Edward Watts and Arthur Eissner.

In his funeral sermon the Rev. Mr. Evans referred to Mr. Knilans as a �builder of the community� and a �leader of the cultural life of the city�.

The full text of his sermon follows:

�A veteran of the community life has gone from us. For many years William Arthur Knilans has been a leader in our midst.

�He has been active in business, founding his own firm and being sensitive to the fluctuation economic needs of our common life. He has been a leader of the cultural life of the city. A gifted conducted himself, his contribution in musical circles will be greatly missed. He was active in our social and fraternal life and many enterprises of civic significance knew his touch and help.

�In the impersonal sphere of achievement we are losing a man who was borne his share of the heat and burden of the day.

�The years had brought of their beauty and wisdom to Arthur Knilans. We think of the words of Scripture:

� �As thy days, so shall thy strength be.�

� �The Lord has not withheld his portion.�

�In the fullness of the days, with his life companion and family about him, honored by friends and associates, his fundamental faculties unimpaired, he came to the first intimations of the end of the earthly road.

�A clouded memory here, a dulled perception for an instant gave warning. And then the accident and after a few days release. Arthur Knilans had left the earthly for the heavenly, the church militant for the church triumphant! He had entered into the joy of his Lord.

�And now, appreciatively, we would allow his life to speak to us.

�He was a builder of the community, more interested in people than things, although as we have suggested, he served for many years as an officer of a corporation and was the founder of his own business.

�He began as a school teacher. When he changed his vocation to business, his musical capacities still kept alive the fascination he had for evoking the creative expression of persons. He led fine choirs; he found and trained and sent forth young people who had musical ability. The sense of the artist was strong within him and beauty always gave him joy.

�He had the gift of friendliness and humor. And that led him naturally into warm comradeship in Masonry and Rotary and other organizations. He was a song leader who will long be remembered. His service to the churches of the community as a choir leader lifted men�s minds and hearts to God. With his wife he created a home of beautiful appointments and unforgettably gracious hospitality.

�Some time ago a newcomer commented, a bit acidly I am afraid, that memorial services in Sheboygan such as this one over stressed the personality of the deceased.

�It has never bothered me much for it is natural that in this neighborly community where we have known each other for years, that where we have loved deeply we express our love. And we remember the words of Scripture:

� �He that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how shall he love God whom he hath not seen.�

�Before God we call up the gracious and kindly memories of our friend, we overlook his faults for we all have them, that his virtues may become part of the warp and woof of our lives and hallow and bless those who come after him.

�So we are led to think of the mercy of God toward us and His will for us. To take our lives and by God�s help to so shape them that at the end of our days men may say of the whole, �It is a beautiful thing,� surely is to enter into some sense of His will. �May all our lives be music,� says the song.

�And when the task is finished and God calls us to new ventures and a new work, we may say with Robert Browning:

� �I go to prove my soul,
I see my way as birds their trackless way
I shall arrive � what time, what circuits first
I ask not; but unless God send his hail
Or blinding fireballs, sleet or stifling snow,
In some time, His good time, I shall arrive.
He guides me and the bird. In his good time.� �

Funeral services for Kim Lee Kautzer, 5-months-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kautzer, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Nickel's Funeral Home.

The Rev. Karl Schulz, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be made on the family lot in Wildwood Cemetery.

Kim was found dead in his crib at his parental home, 2035-A N. 12th St., at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Efforts to revive the infant with a fire department resuscitator were unsuccessful.

Dr. Reed M. Simpson, Sheboygan County coroner, said an autopsy performed Tuesday afternoon determined that death was due to natural causes.

Kim was born in Sheboygan Nov. 20, 1955.

In addition to his parents he is survived by a sister, Bonnie Lou; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kautzer; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Hackbarth, and his great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Biddle, Sheboygan, and Mrs. Emma Hackbarth, Hilbert.

Friends may call at the funeral home until the time of the services.

Mrs. Dorothy Kussard, 57, of 1527 S. 11th St., widow of Henry, died at St. Mary Hospital in Milwaukee Sunday afternoon. She had been a patient there one week.

She was born in the Town of Rhine on Oct. 17, 1915, daughter of Lenora and the late Walter Bruns.

She attended elementary school in Elkhart Lake and graduated from Glenbeulah High School before attending Sheboygan Business College.

On Oct. 27, 1945, she was married to Mr. Kussard. He died last January.

Mrs. Kussard had been employed at Joe Johnson's Bakery as a sales clerk for 10 years prior to her death.

She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church.

Surviving are four sons, James, William, Dennis and Gary; five daughters, Mrs. James (Cheryl) Walber, Mrs. William (Patricia) Nisporic, Nancy, Gail and Heidi, nine grandchildren; her mother, a brother, Donald, all of Sheboygan, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Ann Klarich of Denver.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mark Church, with the Rev. Louis Huber, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday for the Rev. Carl W. Knorr, 56, a retired Lutheran minister, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Batavia.

Pastor Knorr died Saturday of cancer at St. Nicholas Hospital where he had been a patient more recently for five days.

The Rev. Mr. Knorr, of R. 1, Random Lake, served as pastor of St. Stephen's from 1960 until last September when he was forced to retire because of illness.

Officiating at the 2 p.m. Tuesday services will be the Rev. William Robinson, St. Stephen's present pastor; the Rev. Herbert Ries, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Adell, and the Rev. John Stephan, pastor of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, West Bend. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the church after 3 p.m. today, until the hour of services Tuesday.

A memorial fund has been established in Pastor Knorr's name.

The Wittkopp Funeral Service, Plymouth, is in charge of arrangements.

Born on March 25, 1916 in Milwaukee, he was a son of Mrs. Helmine and the late Rudolph Knorr.

He attended Lake Bluff, Shorewood and Concordia High School and College, Milwaukee, graduating in 1937. He then attended and graduated from the Concordia Seminary in St. Louis in June, 1941.

He served the Greater Milwaukee Mission Endeavor before his ordination into the ministry in August, 1942 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Butler, where he was pastor until 1951. He accepted a call to Hope Lutheran Church, Milwaukee, where he served as pastor until 1960 when he accepted a call to St. Stephen in Batavia.

Mr. Knorr also was secretary of the South Wisconsin District, Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, and as circuit counselor.

He married the former Henrietta Koehler on Nov. 19, 1941 at Luther Memorial Chapel, Shorewood. She died Sept. 6, 1968.

Survivors include three sons, Richard of Clarendon Hills, Ill., Thomas of R. 2, Kewaskum and John of R. 1, Campbellsport; two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Sandra) Kelley of Fond du Lac and Mrs. Manvill (Mary) Schneider Jr., of R. 1, Kewaskum; eight grandchildren; his mother, Milwaukee, and two sisters, Mrs. Robert Uebelher of Beaver Dam and Mrs. Hans Kahlich of Menomonee Falls.

Frederick W. J. Kuhlow, 76, of 705 Buffalo St., Sheboygan Falls, former manager and one of the founders of the Sheboygan Falls Co-op, died Friday at St. Nicholas Hospital.

Born July 11, 1886 in the Town of Sheboygan Falls, he was a son of Mrs. Ida (Rautmann) Kuhlow of the Town of Sheboygan Falls, and the late William Kuhlow.

He was a manager of the Sheboygan Falls Co-op for 35 years and a member of its board of directors for 15 years. He was a life-long member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Mohrsville.

A life-long bachelor, he is survived by his mother; four brothers, Julius of Sheboygan Falls, William of the Town of Sheboygan Falls, Henry of the Town of Lima and Otto of Mount Morris; and two sisters, Mrs. Walter Sprenger of the Town of Herman and Mrs. George Ter Maat of the Town of Sheboygan Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church at Mohrsville with the Rev. A. G. Diemer, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Harvey W. Klotsch, 89, of 415 Geele Ave., died Thursday afternoon at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital, following a short illness.

Mr. Klotsch was a long-time employee of the Vollrath Co., and later he was employed by the Polar Ware Co. as a salesman for 35 years until his retirement on Feb. 1, 1963.

A life-long resident of Sheboygan, he was born Nov. 7, 1884, a son of the late Harvey and Bertha Klotsch.

On Feb. 28, 1922, he married Margaret Wellhoefer, and the couple observed their 50th wedding anniversary in 1972. She died last September.

He was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Fred W. (Joan) Koepsell, Sheboygan; four grandchildren; one brother, William, of Mesa, Ariz., and a sister, Mrs. Fred O'Brien of El Paso, Tex.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Nickel's Funeral Home, with the Rev. George Schowalter, pastor of First Congregational Church, officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Amelia Kammerzelt, 87, R. 2, Sheboygan Falls, who formerly lived at 1225 Heerman Ct., died this morning in Sheboygan Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

The former Amelia Kaufmann was born May 22, 1883 in Schilling, Russia, daughter of the late Jacob and Christine Kaufmann.

On June 11, 1906 she married Jacob Kammerzelt of Schilling and they came to Sheboygan in 1911.

Mr. Kammerzelt, a retired Kohler Co. employee, died Jan. 6, 1958. Mrs. Kammerzelt had been living with a daughter for the past three years.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, and the Volga Aid Society.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Fred (Pauline) Schroeder, R. 2, Sheboygan Falls; four sons, Edward, Arthur, Reinhold and LeRoy, all of Sheboygan; 13 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, two sons, three sisters, and four brothers.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in St. Paul Church, the Rev. Arnold Wenger, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.

Mrs. John Kellner, nee Katherine Bablick, passed away early this morning at 1101 Clara avenue where she had been residing. She was 89.

She was born in Germany on Nov. 8, 1861, and came to this country with her parents when she was a small girl. They settled in Sheboygan and she resided here ever since. Her marriage to John Kellner was solemnized at Holy Name church. She was a faithful member of the parish and of its St. Ann's Altar and Christian Mothers society.

Surviving her is a son, Frank Kellner, Milwaukee; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, and two daughters, Mrs. Clara Meyer and Miss Mary Kellner.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Gerend's Funeral home followed by a requiem high mass at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Name church. Father Anthony J. Knackert, pastor, will be the celebrant, and burial will take place on the family lot in Calvary cemetery.

Members of St. Ann's Altar and Christian Mothers society will hold a vigil at the funeral home at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Mrs. Cecilia Krueger, 74, of 411 Bishop St., Plymouth, widow of Oscar, died at her home early Tuesday morning of an apparent heart attack.

The former Cecilia Spitzer, she was born on July 1, 1898 in the Town of Schleswig, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Spitzer.

On July 31, 1919 she was married to Mr. Krueger in the Town of Herman. The couple lived and farmed near Valders for six years before moving to Plymouth in 1925.

Her husband did on Aug. 3, 1972.

She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Plymouth, a member and past president of its Ladies Aid Society and taught in the church Sunday school for many years.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Ruth) Struve of Madison and Mrs. Myron (Naomi) Ross, in Japan, and a son, Ray O. C. Krueger of Beaver Dam; nine grandchildren and a great-grandson.

Two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Salem UCC with the Rev. Lowell Ferguson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.

Oscar H. Krepsky, 56, of 2542 Calumet drive, passed away Tuesday afternoon at 1:50 o'clock at the St. Nicholas hospital after ailing for the past several months.

Deceased was born April 1, 1883, in town of Sheboygan, the son of Carl and Ida Krepsky. He attended the district school and at the age of 16 began work with the Sheboygan Lime Works, where he was employed for 25 years. For the past 12 years he had been employed at the General Box company.

He was married to Anna Nitsch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Nitsch on March 27, 1909. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical church.

Survivors are his widow; three children, Ray and Mrs. Reuben Rickmeier of this city and Mrs. Ray Feldmann of Plymouth; four grandchildren; and the following brothers and sisters, William of town of Sheboygan, Mrs. Herman Schulz, Mrs. August Meyer, Herbert and Mrs. Theodore Prange, all of this city.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Ballhorn funeral temple. Rev. E. R. Krueger will officiate and interment will be made in Wildwood cemetery. Friends may view the body at the funeral home from this evening until the time of services.

Funeral services for Nikita (Nick) Kotsonis, 69, of 834 Jefferson Ave., who was killed Wednesday in a truck-car collision on Highway 141 in Ozaukee County, will be held Saturday.

Services at 2 p.m. at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church will be preceded by brief family rites at 1:30 p.m. at the Ramm Funeral Home.

The Rev. George D. Dellas, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.

A memorial in Mr. Kotsonis' name has been established for St. Spyridon Church.

Mr. Kotsonis was the former operator of the Spa Terminal Bar at 516 S. 8th St., and previously had worked at the former Sellinger Glove Co.

He was born in Greece in 1896, a son of the late George and Demitra Kotsonis.

He came to the United States in 1911, settling in Sheboygan. In 1937, he returned to Greece to marry the former Viola Spanomichos. The couple returned to Sheboygan following their marriage.

Mrs. Kotsonis also was injured in the accident Wednesday and remains in serious condition at St. Alphonsus Hospital, Port Washington.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, George of Madison and James and Frank, both at home and both of whom were also injured in the crash Wednesday; two grandchildren; and two brothers, Thomas of Milwaukee and Nicholas of New York.

Arno Kraedemann, 78, of 2037 Wiemann Ave., died at Rocky Knoll Sunday after a two-month illness.

Born in Sheboygan County, Sept. 13, 1892, he was the son of the late William and Lisette Kraedemann.

In 1929, he married Hilda Breuchel Kau. She died in 1964, and in February, 1966, he married Edna Kuhn. She died in 1970.

Mr. Kraedemann was employed at the Silvis Company for 17 years until his retirement in 1957.

A veteran of World War I, he was a member of Barracks No. 2091, Veterans of World War I. He was also a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church.

He is survived by one stepson, Vernon Kau, Sheboygan; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Carl Sass, Sheboygan.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Otto E. Kolbe, 58, of 1237 S. 23rd St., died Saturday night at his home following a brief illness.

Born June 2, 1903 in Sheboygan, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kolbe. He attended Immanuel Lutheran School and was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in 1917.

His marriage to Miss Oliva Thiele of Sheboygan was solemnized Oct. 21, 1933.

Mr. Kolbe was employed by the Kohler Co., for the last 21 years. He was a member of the Lutheran Aid Association.

Survivors, besides his wife, are one daughter, Gwendolyn, at home; two sons, Claude and Clifford Kolbe, both of Sheboygan; one grandchild; two brothers, Fred and Herman Kolbe of Sheboygan; and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Jurss of Sheboygan and Mrs. Ida Zaczek of South Milwaukee.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ballhorn's Funeral Chapels with the Rev. Rudolph Scheffel, pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral chapels after Tuesday noon.

Mrs. Adelaide Kotzian, 1721 Elm avenue, passed away at St. Nicholas Hospital early today.

Nee Thomas, she was born in Sheboygan on April 29, 1895, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Thomas. She attended St. Peter Claver Catholic school. On Feb. 7, 1917, she was married to Mathew Kotzian. The couple always made their home in Sheboygan. She has been a practical nurse for the past two years.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Loyis (Marianna) Deback of Kansas City, Mo.; Joseph Pfister of Glenview, Ill., and Mrs. Arthur Hertensteiner of Kohler; and two brothers, Ralph Thomas of Milwaukee, and Jerome Thomas of Arlington Heights, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away on Sept. 10, 1952, her parents and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m., Thursday, at the Ramm Funeral home, and at 9 a.m. at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. The Rev. Louis Koren will be celebrant of the requiem high mass and burial will be made in the Greendale cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the funeral home from Wednesday noon until the hour of services on Thursday.

August Kellner, 74, died suddenly Monday at his home, 715 St. Clair Ave.

Born in Sheboygan on Sept. 10, 1880, he attended Holy Name School. Until his retirement 12 years ago, he had been employed at the Garton Toy Co.

Mr. Kellner was unmarried. Several cousins survive.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at Gerend's Funeral Home, with the Rev. Harold C. Petronis, curate of Holy Name Church, officiating. Burial will be made in Calvary Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Mrs. Julia Kuemmett, 76, wife of John Kuemmett, passed away at her home in the town of Wilson at 8 a.m. today after an illness of two weeks.

Deceased was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anton Rammer and came to America when six years of age, settling in the town of Wilson with her family and making her home there since. For several years previous to her death she has made her home with a son, Peter, on the old homestead.

Survivors include her husband, two sons, Peter and George Kuemmett of the Town Wilson; four daughters, Mrs. Peter Broehl of Manitowoc, Mrs. Mary Henrick of Somonauk, Ill., Miss Rose and Miss Agnes at home.

Funeral services will be conducted from the home in the Town Wilson Friday and from St. George's church. Time of the services and further announcements will be made later.

August Krueger, 88, a former resident of Sheboygan, passed away at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Port Washington Monday.

A native of Germany, Mr. Krueger was born Feb. 21, 1868, and attended school in Germany. He came to this country as a young man and on July 23, 1898, was married to Miss Mathilda Christiansen, of Sheboygan.

He was employed in various local factories and later served as janitor at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and school for many years. In 1950 he and his wife moved to Milwaukee to make their home with a son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Krueger.

Mr. Krueger leaves one son, Harold, of Milwaukee; and a sister, Mrs. August Bladoen, of Hanover, Germany. His wife passed away Aug. 26, 1953, and three brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at the Ramm Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Carl W. Ladewig, pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, will conduct the services, and burial will be in the family lot at Wildwood Cemetery.

Henry C. Kaufman, 72, of 702 Superior avenue, passed away late Sunday night at St. Nicholas hospital following a short illness.

Born July 15, 1873, in Fond du Lac, Mr. Kaufman was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Kaufman, pioneer settlers in that area. He was married there to Elizabeth Zirwes and several years after the marriage the family moved to Wausau where Mr. Kaufman was an agent for the Metropolitan Insurance company.

After four years in Wausau, the couple came to this city where they have resided since. Prior to his retirement in July, 1945, Mr. Kaufman was an employee of the H. C. Prange company. He was a faithful member of the Holy Name church and the Holy Name society of that parish.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Allman, at home; one son, Paul, Plymouth; a sister, Elizabeth, Milwaukee, and one brother, Charles, in Appleton.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Gerend Funeral home, followed by a requiem mass at Holy Name church at 9 a.m. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Philipp Dreis will be the celebrant and burial will take place on the family lot in Calvary cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. Tuesday until the time of services.

Henry C. Kage, 77, of 134 Caroline St., Plymouth, died at Plymouth Hospital early today following a two-month illness.

He was born July 13, 1892, in the Town of Lyndon, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kage Sr.

After serving in World War I, he moved to Wessington Springs, S.D., where he married and lived until 1968, when he moved to Plymouth. His wife died in 1953.

He was a carpenter most of his life.

Surviving are two sisters, Miss Mollie Kage, a patient at Rocky Knoll, and Mrs. Clara Robinson, Green Bay and a brother, Otto, King, Wis.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Wittkopp Funeral Home, Plymouth, with the Rev. G. A. Karpinsky, associate pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in the Town of Mitchell.

Jean Gloria Krening, 47, of 311 Buffalo St., Sheboygan Falls, died this morning at St. Nicholas Hospital after a short illness.

She was born in Sheboygan Falls, Oct. 9, 1925, daughter of the late Herman and Hattie Brandt Krause, and graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1944.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sheboygan Falls.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Huehns Funeral Home in Falls, with the Rev. Douglas Moore, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.

Mrs. Rose Kaiser, 49, of 2554 Calumet Dr., died early today at the Schultz Nursing Home where she had been a resident the past month.

Born Feb. 15, 1924, in Kimberly, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Anna Tremel.

She came to Sheboygan with her family as a child and attended local schools.

On Feb. 16, 1957, she married Leroy Kaiser in Sheboygan.

She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Leroy and William, and a daughter, Linda, at home, and a sister, Mrs. Max Schad, Sheboygan.

Funeral services will be Thursday with a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Dominic Catholic Church, the Rev. Cyril Volz, pastor, celebrant, following family rites at 9:30 at the Gerend-Habermann Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Ronald W. Kaesermann, 41, of Watertown, a Sheboygan native, died this morning at Watertown Memorial Hospital after being taken ill Monday night at her home.

The former Joan Sittel was born in Sheboygan, Nov. 19, 1931, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Sittel.

On Feb. 17, 1951, she married Mr. Kaesermann in Illinois. They lived in Cudahy before moving to Watertown nine years ago. Mrs. Kaesermann was a licensed practical nurse at Shorehaven Home, Oconomowoc.

She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Watertown, and its Ladies Aid Society.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Ronald and Bruce, both at home; her parents, of Sheboygan, and two sisters, Mrs. Kenneth Wilke, and Mrs. Frederick Stessmann, both of Sheboygan.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Luke Church, Watertown with the Rev. Ervine Vomhof, pastor, officiating. Burial will be Friday afternoon in Sheboygan.

Michael Kapellen, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kapellen, R. 1, Plymouth, died shortly after birth at the Plymouth Hospital, Monday.

He is survivied by his parents; a brother, Daniel, 8; three sisters, Karen, 6, Donna, 3, Dianne, 18 months; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Jetzer, Sheboygan Falls, and the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Kapellen, R. 1, Plymouth.

Committal services were held at St. John the Baptist Church Cemetery at 9:30 a.m. today. The Rev. Edward Ziegler, pastor, officiated.

Ira Kruizenga, 78, of 1209 Humboldt Ave., died Thursday evening at St. Nicholas Hospital.

Born Sept. 15, 1887, in Gibbsville, he was the son of the late Jacob and Henrietta Kruizenga.

Mr. Kruizenga attended Gibbsville school and married the former Selma Mahron of Sheboygan on June 1, 1915. From 1919 until Mr. Kruizenga's retirement in 1958, the couple owned and operated a farm at Baldwin. The couple in 1958 returned to Sheboygan to make their home.

Mr. Kruizenga was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Laymen's League.

He is survivied by his wife. The couple's only child, Kenneth, died in 1961.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ramm Funeral Home, with the Rev. William N. Redeker, pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church, the officiant. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.

Mrs. Meta Kaufmann, 85, of 520 S. Congress St., Genseo, Ill., a native of the Town of Herman, died Monday evening at the Hillcrest Home in Genseo.

The former Meta Laack was born May 26, 1883 in the Town of Herman, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Laack.

On Nov. 25, 1908 she was married to Louis Kaufmann at Franklin.

The couple lived in Wisconsin until 24 years ago when they moved to Illinois. Mr. Kaufmann died Dec. 7, 1967.

She was a member of the Evangelical Reformed Church.

Survivors include one son, Victor, of Davenport, Ill., and a brother, Leon of Chilton. A sister preceded her in death.

Graveside services will be held at the Woodlawn Cemetery at Plymouth at 11 a.m. Friday.

Alvin E. Koeppe, 59, of 159 Guilford St., Sheboygan Falls, died suddenly at his home Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. while feeding his canaries. He had been actively engaged in raising canaries since he was 13 years old.

Mr. Koeppe was born May 25, 1894, in Sheboygan, son of the late William and Louise Koeppe. At one time he was president of the former Sheboygan Falls Mercantile Store and later of the IDA Store, from 1921 to 1942. He was also employed at Curt Joa, Inc., and at the time of his death was an inspector at Vinyl Plastic, Inc.

The deceased served overseas in World War I. He was married to Charlotte Kuenster, May 30, 1925, at Fond du Lac by the late Rev. Newell Stanley. He was a member of St. John's Lodge 24, F.&A.M., Gutenberg Lodge 284, L.O.O.F., and Friedrich-Mueller-Norgaard Post 149, American Legion. He was a deputy sheriff of Sheboygan County.

Survivors are his widow, a nephew, William, who resided with him until his marriage, two brothers, Edwin and William Sr., of Sheboygan, and five sisters, Mrs. Fred (Meta) Keller, and Mrs. Anton (Ida) Schnur, Sheboygan Falls; Mrs. Henry (Esther) Gross Sr., and Mrs. Otis (Lucy) Kind of Sheboygan, and Mrs. William (Amanda) Syring of Menasha; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lydia Kocher Demos, aged 73, who passed away at 3 p.m. last Friday at St. Nicholas hospital after an illness of long duration, were held at 2 p.m. today at the residence, 827 Kentucky avenue, the Rev. Walter Laesch, pastor of Our Savior Lutheran church, officiating.

Interment was in the family plot at the Lutheran cemetery, the following acting as pallbearers: Ben McMurray, Arno Kirchoff, Otto Schneider, Steve Kovak, Alfred Maurer and Carl Garde.

Deceased was born Dec. 28, 1865, in Hustisford, Wis., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Lehmann. She received her early education in the schools in that village and later worked in Milwaukee, where she was united in marriage to Charles Kocher, who preceded her in death in 1904. For the past 49 years she lived in Sheboygan, 45 of which years she resided at 827 Kentucky avenue. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Survivors are one son, Carl Kocher, one granddaughter, Wanda Lou Kocher, two sisters, Mrs. Hulda Kirchoff, of Hustisford, Wis., and Mrs. Jonas Ayeres of Spencer, Wis., and one brother, August Lehmann, of Hustisford.

Those from out of town who attended the services included Mrs. Jonas Ayeres of Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Schermeister, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Meistner and Miss Edna Kirchoff of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Hulda Kirchoff of Hustisford.

Miss Leona Kohl, 70, of 3106 Wilgus Road, died of a prolonged illness early today in Sheboygan Memorial Hospital.

Miss Kohl was a well known seamstress, having served Sheboygan area women for many years.

A native of Sheboygan County, she was born May 30, 1903, a daughter of the late Henry and Frieda Kohl. She lived most of her life in Sheboygan.

Miss Kohl was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and served on the Altar Guild.

Survivors are a brother, Theodore, rural Sheboygan Falls, and three sisters, Mrs. Samuel Allen of San Antonio, Texas, and Mrs. Herbert Horneck and Mrs. Rod Hildebrand of Sheboygan.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Nickel's Funeral Home, with the Rev. Grant Quill, Our Redeemer pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.

John Kocjan, 1015 Indiana avenue, passed away at St. Nicholas hospital early this morning after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Jugoslavia and came to this country 43 years ago. In 1914 he was united in marriage to Mary Klabchar at Ss. Cyril & Methodius church by the late Father James Cherne. Before his retirement 14 years ago he was employed at the American Chair Co.

A faithful member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius church he was also affiliated with the Ilirija society, the Ss. Cyril & Methodius lodge of the KSKJ and the American-Slovenian organization.

His wife survives, also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at Gerend's Funeral home followed by a requiem high mass at 8 a.m. at Ss. Cyril and Methodius church. Father Louis F. Koren, pastor, will be the celebrant, and burial will take place on the family lot in Greendale cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from Tuesday noon until the hour of the services.

Miss Leona Klemme, 54, who lived at the Town of Herman farm home of her brother, Raymond, died unexpectedly there at 7 p.m. Saturday.

A daughter of the late Carl and Caroline Klemme, she was born Oct. 11, 1911, and attended school for the deaf at Delevan. She never married.

Surviving, in addition to the brother, Raymond, R. 1, Elkhart Lake, is another brother, Herbert, R. 1, Sheboygan Falls.

Private services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Walter H. Ahrens Funeral Home in Howards Grove. The Rev. Robert Opperman, pastor of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Town of Herman, will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.

The casket will remain closed.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Duluth, Minn., for Mrs. Henry Konings, 95, a native of Sheboygan Falls, who died in Duluth Thursday following a lengthy illness.

The former Minnie Schneidewand was born in Sheboygan Falls on May 9, 1874, and on June 2, 1917, she and Henry Konings were married in Sheboygan Falls. The couple moved to Duluth the following year.

Funeral services will be held at the Johnson Mortuary in Duluth with subsequent burial in the Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.

There will be no funeral services in Sheboygan Falls.

Mrs. William (Selina) Krepsky, 59, 1813 N. 9th St., died at St. Nicholas Hospital, Sunday afternoon after a lingering illness.

A native of Plymouth, she was born Oct. 2, 1906, a daughter of the late William Suzanna Mohr. She attended John's School in Sheboygan County and was confirmed at the Salem Reformed Church. She made her home in Sheboygan since the age of 17.

On Nov. 28, 1925, she married William Krepsky. She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ and of the Senior Ladies Aid Society.

Surviving are her husband; five daughters, Mrs. Earl (Irene) Schultz, Mrs. George (Dorothy) Schultz, Mrs. Ray (Vernetta) Kohlmann and Mrs. Robert (June) Fisher, all of Sheboygan, and Mrs. Warren (Bernice) Rhines of Sheboygan Falls; 19 grandchildren, and one brother, Clarence of Sheboygan.

Funeral services for Oscar F. Kuenne, 79, of 2305 N. 7th St., who died Thursday at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital, will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Ramm Funeral Home.

Born March 20, 1882, in the Town of Sheboygan, the son of Christoph and Emma Kuenne, he attended District No. 3 school and was confirmed at St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church on March 5, 1895, by the late Rev. Hillemann.

He was married to Miss Lydia Wendland on March 20, 1918, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church by the late Rev. William Wambsgans. The couple farmed on the homestead farm until 1920 when they came to Sheboygan to make their home. His wife died in October, 1940.

Mr. Kuenne was employed at the C. Reiss Coal Co. until 1942 when he moved to Newton to make his home with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Doersch.

He remained with them until 1955 when he returned to Sheboygan to live at the Terrace Nursing Home. He had been hospitalized for nine days prior to his death.

Survivors are a son, Carl F. Kuenne, a Sheboygan police officer; a daughter, Mrs. Melvin Doersch of Newton; a brother, Ernest of Detroit, Mich., and five grandchildren.

Besides his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and a sister.

Mrs. Martin Kraus, 64, passed away suddenly at her home in the town of Plymouth at 12:30 o'clock Wednesday noon.

Mrs. Kraus, nee Emma Arndt, was born in the town of Plymouth on March 14, 1877, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Arndt. Her marriage to Martin Kraus took place on Oct. 22, 1904. The couple has resided on the Kraus homestead, east of the city.

The survivors include her husband, two brothers, Carl Arndt, town of Plymouth, William of Plymouth, and a sister, Mrs. Louise Blanke. Three sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.

Mrs. Kraus was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist of Plymouth. The funeral services will be conducted by Edwin Mahnke, reader of the First Church of Christ Scientist, Sheboygan, on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Wittkopp Funeral home in Plymouth. The burial will be in the Woodlawn cemetery. The body may be viewed from Friday afternoon until time of the funeral.

Robert Frederick Kypke, four-day-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kypke, 802 Eastern avenue, Plymouth, passed away at 7:30 o'clock this morning at Plymouth hospital. He was born at Plymouth hospital Jan. 5 and the only survivors are the parents.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Gentine Funeral home at Plymouth with the Rev. George B. McCreary of the First United Lutheran church of Sheboygan officiating. Burial will be made in Woodlawn cemetery at Plymouth.

Louis Klepec, 71, was found dead in bed Wednesday noon at 811 Indiana Ave. where he roomed.

Dr. Reed M. Simpson, county coroner, said death, due to natural causes, occurred sometime Tuesday night.

Mr. Klepec, born July 5, 1888, in Yugoslavia, came to America in May, 1909. He had been employed for years in various Sheboygan factories, most recently by the Superior Parlor Frame Co. until his retirement about five years ago.

He never married and has no known survivors.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels with the Rev. Kenneth Krueger, pastor of Fountain Park Evangelical United Brethren Church, officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.

Thomas L. Kernen, 72, of ______ {illegible} Superior Ave., widely known in Sheboygan theatrical circles, died at 10 p.m. Tuesday at Rocky Knoll Sanatorium and Hospital.

He had been a patient there six months.

Mr. Kernen was employed as an advance manager for the Ringling Brothers Circus for several years, and founded the Sheboygan Checker Cab Co. about 1917.

He operated the taxi firm for about 20 years, and also served as stage manager at the former Opera House, later the Van Der Vaart Theatre, now the Wisconsin Theatre.

After the Sheboygan Theatre was constructed, he was named stage manager there and was active until illness forced his retirement in 1954.

Mr. Kernen was a charter member of Local 655 of the Theatrical and Stage Employees Union, and was among union members who volunteered their services to show movies at Rocky Knoll periodically.

A native of Waterloo, Iowa, he was born Jan. 18, 1891, a son of the late Jacob and Ursula Kernen. The family moved to Sheboygan when he was an infant.

His marriage to Miss Frieda Leonhardt of Sheboygan was solemnized Feb. 18, 1914.

Survivors are his wife; a son, Leon of Sheboygan; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and four sisters, Mrs. Walter Baartz of Miami, Fla., Mrs. Walter Schmidt, Mrs. R. C. Knocke, and Mrs. Alfred Durrow, all of Sheboygan.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels.

The Rev. Anthony J. Knackert, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral chapels after 4 p.m. Thursday.

Gustave Knaak, 87, of 1538 S. 13th St., died early Sunday morning at St. Nicholas Hospital.

Prior to retirement in 1944, Mr. Knaak had been employed for many years by the Sheboygan Street Dept.

Born in Germany, Aug. 7, 1872, he was a son of the late Carl and Auguste Knaak. He came to Sheboygan in 1894 and married Miss Martha Koehler at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, May 15, 1897.

His wife died in December, 1942.

Survivors are three sons, Lester, Melvin and Raymond, and a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Wilma) Altmann, all of Sheboygan; several grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ramm Funeral Home with Carl E. Nelson, vicar at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Judith Kretsch, 11-month-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Armin Kretsch of Herman, Sheboygan county, and grandchild of Mr. and Mrs. F.M. Schneider of Meeme, died in a Sheboygan hospital. Funeral services will be held at Howards Grove Thursday afternoon.

Survivors are the parents, two brothers, a sister, and the grandparents.

Identity of the man killed Sunday morning at DePere by a Northwestern train was established there by James McComb, Manitowoc, a sailor and a chum of the dead man. He is Otto Ketter, of Sheboygan. McComb applied for a nights's lodging at the DePere jail Monday night and in a talk with an officer was told that an unknown man had been killed by a train. He was taken to the remains and identified his buddy at once. He said he had been with Ketter as late as 11 o'clock Saturday night but said he knew nothing of the man's where abouts after he left him in Depere.

Ketter and McComb had worked together on lake steamers for two years, according to the Manitowoc man and both were awaiting an opportunity to go to work on any boat going into commission.

Ketter is unmarried an about 44 years of age, according to McComb. He is said to have a brother, Robert, residing in Sheboygan and the coroner telephoned the Sheboygan police to notify the brother of Ketter's death, but officials failed to locate the man.

Efforts to locate relatives in Chicago and Milwaukee were continued.

Kiel�(Special)�Mrs. Johanna Kaiser, 94, widow of the late Peter Kaiser, passed away at 1 a.m. today at the home of her son, Robert. The farm home, located one mile east of Millhome on Highway 32, is known as the Kaiser homestead. Mrs. Kaiser, ill for two weeks, had lived there since 1862.

She was born in Niernstein, Darmstadt, Germany, on Oct. 7, 1845, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Strub. In 1854 she came to this country with her parents and located in the town of Rhine. On March 26, 1864, she was married to Peter Kaiser of the town of Rhine, and the couple settled on the present farm home. Her husband preceded her in death Dec. 9, 1906. Thirteen children were born of the marriage, eight of whom have preceded her in death.

Survivors are three sons, Robert, on the homestead, Philip of New Holstein, Henry of Kiel, two daughters, Mrs. Mathias (Martha) Becker of Kiel and Mrs. Rudolph (Mary) Bunge of the town of Rhine; 29 grandchildren and 64 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the C. J. Meiselwitz funeral home and at St. Peter Evangelical church in the town of Rhine. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. Paul Thomas will officiate.

Gustave F. Kerber, 85, of 520 W. Riverside Dr., Kohler, passed away Tuesday evening after an illness of one week.

A native of Germany, Mr. Kerber was born Feb. 1, 1871, and came to this country with his parents in 1888. The family settled in Sheboygan, end Mr. Kerber lived here until 1926, then moved to Kohler. He retired in 1948 after 24 years of service at the Kohler Co.

Mr. Kerber was married to Miss Minnie Haun at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sheboygan, on Oct. 15, 1898. She preceded him in death Sept. 29, 1951.

Mr. Kerber was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church at Kohler.

He leaves one son, Raymond, of Sheboygan; a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Elenore) Herwaten, of Kohler; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. August Forster, Sheboygan, and Mrs. Gottfried Langkabel, Sheboygan.

Three sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p. m. Friday at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. The Rev. Herbert A. Baker, pastor of Bethany Lutheran Church, Kohler, will conduct the services, and burial will be in the family lot at Wildwood Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from Thursday noon until the time of services.

Mrs. Caroline Louise Kay, one of the pioneer residents of this city, died yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock after an illness of about three months.

The decedent was born in Germany and came to Sheboygan in 1853 when Sheboygan was a wilderness.

Her husband Christian Kay died about 33 years ago.

Mrs. Kay is survived by seven children, four daughters and two sons and eighteen grand children. The children are: Mrs. Charles Reineke, Marinette, Adolph at home, Mrs. Louis Krueger, Racine, Charles at home, Julius, Marinette, Ida Kay at home and Mrs. Michael Noetzel, Plymouth.

The decedent was 77 years, 7 months and two days old. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon from her late home, 1015 St. Clair avenue. The Rev. Schultz of the Trinity Lutheran church will officiate. Interment will be in Wildwood cemetery.

Mrs. Louise Karnopp, 83, of 1117 N. 27th St., died at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital early today after a lengthy illness.

Born in Germany on May 11, 1884, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Helena Knaak. She came to Sheboygan with her parents at the age of seven.

On May 5, 1902 she was married to Otto Karnopp. He died in 1942.

Mrs. Karnopp was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, Harold of Sheboygan and Clyde of El Cajon, Calif.: two daughters, Mrs. Viola Mackenzie of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Fred (Sylvia) Langenhahn of Kohler; eight grandchildren and six great-grand children; one brother, Harvey Knaak of Sheboygan and one sister, Mrs. Gusta Wolffs of Butte, Mont.

One brother and three sisters preceeded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Nickel's Funeral Home, the Rev. Vernon Jaberg, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Fred Koppen, aged 51 years, died at St. Nicholas hospital at about 11:30 o'clock Tuesday morning, after suffering a second stroke of paralysis, which resulted in his death. He leaves a wife and several children.

The funeral of Fred Koppen was held from the Hanchett undertaking parlors at 2 o'clock this afternoon. Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery, Rev. Wollbrechts officiating.
