The grim reaper has invaded another home and the soul of Geo. Smith, an esteemed and worthy pioneer, winged its flight aloft early on Sunday morning, May 26, death being cause by a complication of ailments characteristic of advanced age.

Mr. Smith was born in County Down, Ireland, in the year 1827. In the year 1847, he immigrated to America and settled in Kenosha where he remained a short time when he moved to Russell and continued to reside until the time of his death. On April 20th, 1857, he was married to Miss Alice Digney of Fond du Lac.

The deceased had many reminiscences of the pioneer days and took great delight in relating them. He also took a deep interest in everything pertaining to church, its welfare and progress even to the end and was happily rewarded by being fortified by all the spiritual consolation of the Catholic church.

He is survived by three children; Mrs. John Cain, Miss Alecia and Charles all residents of this town.

The funeral occurred on Tuesday of last week from his late home to the St. Anna Catholic church, where the last sad rites were celebrated by Father Stemper with interment in the adjoining cemetery beside his wife who preceded him thirteen years ago.

The bearers of the pall were Peter Neugent, Willie Cain, Geo. Keenan, Thomas Grogan and John and Will DeLaHunt.

St. Anna - Mrs. Margaret Smith, 77, of the town of Russell, passed away Wednesday morning at St. Nicholas hospital, Sheboygan, where she had been a patient for the past 10 days.

She was born in the town of Mitchell on Nov. 6, 1865, the daughter of Patrick and Mary Crosby. On Nov. 25, 1890, she was married to Charles Smith at St. Michael's church by the Rev. Father Burke. Since her marriage she had lived on the Smith homestead in the town of Russell. Mr. Smith died in November, 1910. She was a member of St. Ann's church and a charter member of the Christian Mothers of St. Ann.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ralph Kohlman of Cascade; three sons, George and Harry on the homestead, and Norman of Sheboygan; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Minnell Crosby of Milwaukee, and Miss Dolia Crosby of Plymouth; and three brothers, Lew and Michael, of Plymouth, and Dr. E.P. Crosby of Stevens Point.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock in St. Ann's church. Friends may call at the Meiselwitz Funeral home beginning today.

Not for many years has the neighborhood and surrounding country been thoroughly shocked as when reported, that in a spell of despondency caused by ill health, Charles Smith had taken his life by hanging.

The deceased, who suffered with a {se}rious form of stomach trouble at intervals for the past six years, had just experienced an attack more serious than all previous ones, and with a complication of severe nervousness.

For about a week he was noticed by members of his family to be in a nervous state, who caused Dr. Brickbauer of Plymouth to be summoned on Thursday, November 10. He talked cheerfully to the patient and prescribed for him, and at the conclusion of his visit he seemed so much improved as to cause the spirits of his entire family to become thoroughly elated, which was only harder to endure when crushed and replaced by the saddest memories ever felt by human hearts.

The deceased was about 50 years of age and had all the necessary qualifications of true manhood. He was a good church member and a member of the Married Men's society, who attended the funeral in a body. A very kind husband and indulgent father. A wife, who was formerly Miss Marguerite Crosby of Mitchell, three sons, George, Harry and Norman, one daughter, Miss Marion, survive him, together with two sisters, Mrs. John Cain of Russell, and Miss Alecia Smith of Plymouth.

The funeral, which was one of the largest ever held in the St. Anna Catholic church, took place Tuesday, Rev. Stemper officiating. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.

The bearers of the pall were all members of the Married Men's society, Messrs. Nicholas Gregorie, Pat and Willie Cain, Thomas Frankman, George Keenan and Dennis Harkins.

Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved family in their sad hours.

The deceased was a well known and respected citizen of this town and his untimely death at the age of forty-eight is regretted by a wide circle of friends and is a severe loss to his family to whom he was a kind and loving husband and father.

The funeral took place Tuesday morning at St. Anna's Catholic church at 10 o'clock, Rev. Father Stemper performing the obsequies, the remains being interred in the cemetery adjoining the church.

He leaves a wife and four children besides two sisters, Mrs. John Cain and Miss Alecia Smith of Russell to mourn his loss.

Funeral services for little Donna Ann Smith, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Smith, who passed away Monday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Nicholas hospital, were held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock at the Robert Kroos Funeral home and at 9:30 o'clock at St. Dominic's Catholic church. The Rev. George Knackert officiated and burial took place in Calvary cemetery.

Pallbearers were four cousins of Donna Ann, Carlos Shiefer, Arthur Roskopf, Joseph Smith and Robert Duffie.

Donna Ann, who was not quite four years of age, possessed a happy disposition and was loved by all who knew her. Her death, coming after a few hours illness, was a shock to her friends and relatives.

Elkhart Lake, Wis., April 7 {AP} Harry Smith, 67, Rt. 2, Elkhart Lake, former chairman of the Town of Russell and a member of the Sheboygan County Board from 1935 to 1957, died at his home Friday.

Miss Irene Smith died at the home of her parents here on Monday, Sept. 19th, after a lingering illness of several months duration at the age of about twenty five years. Besides her parents, the deceased is survived by five brothers, Roger of Calumet, Mich., Peter and Mike of Montreal, Wis., Henry of this town and John, who resides at home, and three sisters, Mrs. Chas. Skelton, and Misses Mary and Agnes at home. The funeral was held from St. Mary's church at Cascade, Wednesday morning at ten o'clock, Rev. Fisher officiating, with interment in the adjoining cemetery. The large concourse of friends and relatives which followed the remains to the grave showed the high esteem in which the deceased was held by the entire neighborhood. The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved family in their sad hours.

Miss Irene Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. Smith of Mitchell was called to her home in heaven Sunday night Sept. 18, '10. Miss Smith was a highly respected young lady and leaves many friends to mourn her departure. The funeral was held at St. Mary's church in Cascade Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock. Rev. J. H. Fisher officiating. The casket was nicely covered with choice flowers from kind hands. The singing and music on the organ by the choir was nice and appropriate. The remains were laid at rest in the cemetery adjoining the church. The funeral was largely attended. The family have the sympathy of their many friends in their great bereavement. Kiefer and Wittkopp of Plymouth conducted the funeral.

Roger Smith, son of Michael Smith of the town of Mitchell passed away Saturday, June 21, at the home of his parents. The funeral services were held Tuesday, Rev. Fisher of St. Mary's church of Cascade officiating. Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery at Cascade.

Deceased was born Nov. 15, 1872, and was unmarried. He is survived by his parents and the following brothers and sisters: Michael, Montreal, Can.; Peter, Hibbing, Minn.; John, Henry and Misses Mary and Agnes at home; Mrs. Chas. Skelton of the town of Mitchell.

"O Grave, where is they victory! O Death, where is they sting!" Well might this young man exclaim thus, for he had led an exemplary life. He died as he had lived, at peace with his fellow man, at peace with his God, and well prepared and fortified by the sacraments of his church, fully reconciled to meet his God. Death for him had no terrors; such was the life of Rodger Smith. He was born in Marquette, Michigan, on Nov. 15, 1874. He died at the home of his parents in the town of Mitchell on June 21, 1913. His health began to fail about six months ago before his death and finally developed into ulcers of the stomach and a nervous breakdown, resulting in death. This is the third death in this family in less than three years.

He was unmarried. During his illness he was devotedly cared for by loving hands and hearts. During the past ten years he made his home in Calumet, Michigan, where he was employed as a solicitor. He was highly esteemed by those having the pleasure of his acquaintance, and he had the faculty of making friends of those whom he came in contact, either in a social or business way. Consequently his life was a success.

He is survived by the following relatives and friends, who mourn his loss, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Smith, Peter Smith of Virginia, Minn.; Michael Smith of Montreal, Wisconsin; the Misses Mary A. and Agnes and John and Henry Smith and Mrs. Charles Skelton of the town of Mitchell.

The friends from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Lamb and daughter Nora, of Sheboygan; Mrs. Agnes Dumas of Ripon, Wis.; and many others. Undertakers Franey and Cooper had charge of the funeral. The funeral ceremony was held from St. Mary's church in Cascade. Requiem high mass was celebrated by Rev. Father Fisher. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery. The relatives and friends have the sympathy and condolence of the community in their great bereavement. May his soul rest in peace.

Samuel H. Smiley, 52 years old, well known business man of Sheboygan Falls, dropped dead last week Friday, in the kitchen of his home. Apoplexy was the cause of death. He was well known in this city where he had many friends and acquaintances. He was discovered dead about 7:30 o'clock by Mrs. Smiley.

Mr. Smiley was born and spent his early life at Orfordville. After his marriage he lived at Beloit where he was engaged in the shoe business. He later came to Sheboygan Falls and became a traveling salesman for Watkin remedies. After being with the Watkins company for 12 years Mr. Smiley became identified with the Mortgage and Security company of Sheboygan. At the time of his death he was planning to enter the wholesale egg business. He was a member of the Episcopal church and of the Knights of Pythias lodge.

Besides his wife, he leaves three daughters, Misses Cesarine, Margaret and Katherine Smiley and one brother, B.E. Smiley of Madison.

When Christmas morn was ushered in and all homes should be filled with good cheer, one home was cast in the deepest gloom when Matthew H. Sprangers passed to his eternal rest. Deceased was taken ill eight months ago and sought relief through an operation at St. Nicholas Hospital at Sheboygan and the best of hopes were entertained for his ultimate recovery, but a change soon set in which baffled the skill of the most noted physicians. Every effort known to medical science was used to alleviate his suffering but to no avail and he passed peacefully away at ten o'clock on Christmas morning. Deceased was born in the city of Sheboygan on March 20, 1859 and but when a lad his parents moved onto a farm in the township of Holland where he grew to manhood. In 1883 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Lamb, and engaged in farming which he followed until 10 years ago with the exception of three years in business at Oostburg when he moved into the village and purchased the Siefert property at East Adell. He is survived by his wife and two brothers, Rev. J.J. Sprangers of Little Chute, Wis., and W.H. Sprangers of Waldo. The funeral was held from his late home.

Word has been received in the city that Miss Dellie Stoltzmann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Stoltzmann, of Sheboygan, died at a hospital in Milwaukee, Monday.

Miss Stoltzmann was about nineteen years of age and besides her parents, leaves several brothers and sisters, Mrs. Rob. Horneck of Elkhart Lake is a sister and Mr. Stoltzmann, formerly a clerk at Saemann & Co's at Adell, but now mail weigher on one of the night trains that runs through the city, is a brother.

Mrs. Streblow, wife of William Streblow, died Friday at her home on the town line east of Plymouth after an illness of a few days. On Tuesday, their first-born, which came to them on Monday, was taken away, and the mother survived the little one only a few days. The funeral was held on Monday from the Catholic church at Elkhart Lake, Father Schmits of Kiel officiating and Undertaker Schram conducting the obsequies. The remains were laid at rest in the Rhine Catholic cemetery.

Death, which is always terrible, was made doubly so in this instance by the fact that it took away a young child and loyal wife, and has broken up a happy home. It is less than two years ago that she was married to Mr. Streblow and they were happy in each other's love. They were also prospering in a worldly way, owning a cheese factory with a large patronage. They were looking hopefully to the future, when the angel of death came and suddenly put an end to their bliss.

Mrs. Streblow was born in the town of Rhine twenty-two years ago. Her maiden name was Helen Zimmermann, and she was the daughter of J. Zimmermann of that town. Over a year ago she became the wife of William Streblow, by whom she is survived.

John Sullivan, and employee of the Milwaukee Electric Light & Power Co. and once a resident of this community, suffered injuries which resulted fatally when crushed between two street cars at ten o'clock Friday evening, September 10th. Rushed to St. Mary's Hospital, Milwaukee, he was given the best of care and medical attention, but this proved of no avail after a week of fearful suffering the young man succumbed to his injuries, his demise occurring at 8:45 p.m. Friday, October 7th. Mr. Sullivan, who was 27 years of age, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Sullivan, who reside three miles west of the village where he was born and received his early education. In early manhood he followed the vocation of cheesemaker and for a time was proprietor of the Hoard Cheese factory. Later he became a resident of the village where he was employed by the Adell Canning Company for a season, afterwards moving to Milwaukee where he has since resided. On June 30, 1915, he was united in the holy bonds of matrimony with Miss Stella Dwyre of the town of Mitchell. Those who survive to mourn his loss are his wife and five-year-old son, William; his aged parents; three sisters, Mrs. George Beyers of Milwaukee, Mrs. James Mangan of Hales Corners, and Miss Genevieve at home and five brothers, Patrick of Waukesha, William at Janesville, Edward at Sheboygan and George and Leslie at home. The remains arrived here at nine o'clock Saturday and were conveyed to the home of his parents where they were viewed by neighbors, friends and former school mates. The funeral was held Monday morning at nine o'clock with services at St. Patrick's church at ten o'clock, Rev. F.J. Hillenbrand officiating. The remains were laid at rest in the cemetery adjoining the church. The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of the community in their deep and sudden affliction.

John Sullivan of Milwaukee, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Sullivan of Cascade died at St. Mary�s hospital in Milwaukee Friday, Oct. 8th (sic. Fri. Oct. 7).

Just a week before that, Mr. Sullivan, who was employed in the Oakman car barns, while at work in the barns, was crushed between two moving cars. His leg was cut off and he suffered internal injuries. He was rushed to St. Mary�s hospital, where after a week of intense suffering he passed away.

He was born in Cascade, twenty-seven years ago.

He is survived by his wife (nee: Stella Dwyer), small son William, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Sullivan of Cascade, three brothers; Patrick of Waukesha , William of Janesville, and Edward of Sheboygan, two sisters: Mrs. Chas. Beyers and Mrs. Jas. Manuel of Milwaukee.

The funeral was held from St. Patrick�s church near Adell, Monday morning, the Rev. Father Regan of Cascade officiating. The pall bearers were Hugh O�Hara, Emmons Burke, John Skelton, Leo Long, Ed. Tehranow, and Philip Hand.

Frank L. Saye, 73, of 1425 Huron Ave., died Friday, February 10, 1989 at Morningside Health Center.

He was born October 29, 1915 in Sheboygan, a son of the late Frank and Angela Zavrl Saye.

On September 5, 1942 he married Estelle Bahr in Sheboygan. She preceded him in death on March 18, 1965. Mr. Saye was a delivery man for many years for Kaemmer Poultry and then for City Bakery, retiring in 1977. He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and the Pine Club.

Mr. Saye is survived by a son, Jerry {Terri} Saye, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; two daughters, Mrs. Debra {Jan} Grunewald, of Howards Grove and Mrs. Sandra {Joseph} Hlade, of South Bend, IN.; five grandchildren and a brother, Rudy {Olga} Saye, of Sheboygan. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter and a brother.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, February 13, 1989 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, with the Rev. William Effinger, celebrant. The mass will be preceded by brief family rites at 10:30 a.m. at the Nickel-Lippert Funeral Home where friends may call on Sunday, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of services. A parish vigil will be held there at 6 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Saye's name.

Mrs. Frank Saye, 46, of 1425 Huron Ave., died at St. Nicholas Hospital early today after an illness of several months.

The former Estelle Bahr was born in Sheboygan on July 20, 1918, a daughter of the late Ferdinand and Emma {Gartman} Bahr. A graduate of Central High school, she was married to Mr. Saye on Sept. 5, 1942.

Mrs. Saye was a member of Holy Name Catholic Parish, and the St. Ann Christian Mother and Altar Society.

Survivors are her husband; a son, Jerry; two daughters, Debra and Sandra, all at home; five brothers, Oscar and Chester Bahr of Sheboygan, Ferdinand of Monterey Park, Calif. Gordon in LaCrosse, August of Memphis, Tenn., and three sisters, Mrs. Lydia VanStelle of Oostburg, Mrs. Dora Jasenovic of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Emma Behnke of Sheboygan.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at Holy Name Catholic Church, following brief family rites at 8:30 a.m. at Nickel's Funeral Home.

The Rev. Anthony J. Knackert, pastor, will be celebrant of the requiem high Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Members of St. Ann Christian Mother and Altar Society will hold a vigil at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Captain Joseph Swift, of the town of Glenbeulah, died on Wednesday, apparently of old age. Mr. Swift was an old sea captain and was one of the first settlers in that part of the state. He was 80 years of age and leaves a wife and two daughters, Mrs. Slade and Mrs. Dillingham.

Demise of Captain Joseph Swift, Founder of the Village of Glenbeulah. On Wednesday, December 13, the spirit of Captain Joseph Swift left its earthly tabernacle and joined the innumerable host that have gone before. The deceased was born in West Falmouth, Mass., July 12, 1801, and consequently at the time of his death was nearly 82 years of age. Of his early life about 25 years were spent on the ocean. He first served before the mast on a whaler, but the greater part of his sea life was passed as Captain of a merchant ship, during which time he visited nearly all the known parts of the world, and on the discovery of gold in California, was among the first to double Cape Horn on a voyage to the new Eldorado. In 1857 having abandoned a seafaring life, he came to Glenbeulah, and became the founder of the village. For a number of years he was a member of the manufacturing firm of Swift, Dillingham and Company, took an active part in the extension of the Sheboygan and Fond du Lac Railroad to this place, and at one time held the office of county commissioner. Prominently identified with the interests of the village, a true friend of education, an upright citizen and just man, the death of the Captain will be felt by the entire community, while a wife and two daughters, Mrs. Edwin Slade and Mrs. J.T. Dillingham are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband and affectionate and indulgent father. Mrs. J.A. Serverence, MD, of Milwaukee, in a touching and eloquent manner pronounced the funeral sermon. {Note by MJP: Mrs. Severance was also a Spiritualist minister.}

Passed away peacefully to the spirit life, December 13, 1882 at 4:00pm, Captain Joseph Swift, of Glenbeulah Wisconsin, in the eighty-second year of his age, beloved by all who knew him. He was noted for charity, kindness to the poor, and for integrity and goodness of character. He leaves a wife and two daughters, Mr. Slade and Mrs. Dillingham, to whom he was tenderly attached. With his companion of 76 years he has traveled life's journey for more than half a century, with such devoted loving care for each other as are seldom known. He was born in West Falmouth, Mass., July 12, 1801. In early years he followed a seafaring life as captain in the merchant service, exchanging merchandise with foreign countries. At one period, he was a captain of a steamer rung between New Orleans and Galveston, carrying mail and passengers. On the breaking out of the gold excitement in California in '49, he commanded a ship laden with merchandise around Cape Horn to San Francisco. In 1856 he came to Wisconsin, was one of the Glenbeulah Land Company, and in 1857 became one of the founders of the village and has since been prominent in all of the enterprises of the village; was senior partner of the firm Swift, Dillingham and Company and took much interest in the Sheboygan and Fond du Lac Railroad, until it was completed to the village of Glenbeulah. He was one of the commissioners of Sheboygan County when it was governed under that system, and was much respected for his judgment in public affairs. The funeral services were held at the house of the deceased, Sunday afternoon, December 17, conducted by Mrs. J.H. Severance, MD, of Milwaukee, whose remarks were eulogistic of the deceased, with beautiful lessons for this and the other life. {note by MJP: Mrs. Severance was also a Spiritualist minister.}

Mrs. Swift, widow of the late Capt. Joseph Swift, of Glenbeulah, and mother of Mrs. Edwin Slade of that village and Mrs. J.T. Dillingham of this city, died on Tuesday last after a few days illness, at the age of about 81 years. She came from Massachusetts to Glenbeulah with her husband in 1857 and July 4 of that year occupied the first dwelling built in that village, where she has since resided, respected and beloved by all who knew her. The funeral took place on yesterday, and was attended by a large gathering of people who thus manifested their respect and regard for her memory.

Mrs. Joseph Swift died at one o'clock p.m. yesterday, and will be buried on Friday, in the Glen cemetery. Although her blessed and good life lasted eighty-three years, she will be sadly missed in the hearts of her children and many friends, and deepest sympathy is felt for her daughters, Mrs. E. Slade and Mrs. J.T. Dillingham.

In Glenbeulah, on Tuesday, July 17, 1888, the spirit passed from the body of Mrs. Swift, {widow of the late Capt. Joseph Swift,} in the presence of her daughters Mrs. Edwin Slade of that place and Mrs. J.T. Dillingham of Sheboygan; other near and dear friends also being present. Deceased was eighty-two years of age June 5, last. She was in full possession of her faculties and silently arranged everything before entering her immortality. She was a pioneer resident of the county and was held in high esteem by all who were so fortunate as to know her well. The burial took place Friday and a large concourse of kind and admiring friends followed the remains to their last resting place.

A telegram was received from Pasadena, Cal., announcing the death of Edwin Slade on the morning of May 29th. His death was due to a chronic trouble of which he had suffered more or less for the past ten years. Edwin Slade was born at Westport, Bristol Co., Mass., March 25th, 1826. Was engaged in the boot and shoe trade until 1857 when he moved to Wisconsin and in connection with Swift and Dillingham founded and settled the village of Glenbeulah. He was always an earnest worker for the welfare of the town and engaged in the general store and drug business. In politics he was ever a staunch republican and held the position of postmaster for several years. In 1865 he was elected member of the legislature from the second assembly district. Was secretary and director of the Sheboygan and Fond du Lac Railroad from 1866 to 1880. In all his various pursuits he was noted for his honesty, square dealing method and execution ability. His services were often sought as trustee, guardian and adjuster. He had the entire confidence of all his fellow men. About 1890 he closed up his business at Glenbeulah, and shortly after moved to Pasadena, Cal., where he has since resided and for the past twelve years has been president of the Dillingham Mfg. Co.

Died in California. Edwin Slade a former resident of Sheboygan County Whose Memory is Held Dear by All Who Knew Him. Edwin Slade, died Wednesday morning, May 29 at his home in Pasadena, Cal., leaving a devoted wife who had been his constant companion for close to half a century. Her sister Mrs. Dillingham who had made her home with them since her husband's death some years ago, was also present during Mr. Slade's sickness and death. Edwin Slade was born at Westport, Bristol County, Mass., March 25, 1826, the only son of Nathan and Phoebe Slade. He lived in Massachusetts and Providence, RI, and was for a time engaged in the boot and shoe trade until 1857 when he came west and settled at Glenbeulah, in this county. There he started a general merchandise store in company with Swift and Dillingham, continuing until 1866 when Swift and Dillingham retired and Mr. Slade continued the business. He was appointed postmaster the same year which office he held for many years. He was a member of the legislature in 1865, was secretary and director of the Sheboygan and Fond du Lac Railroad from 1866 to 1880, and was town school superintendent of Greenbush for a long term. While a resident of Glenbeulah he was one of the prime movers and earnest workers in all that tended to the welfare of his town and the enlightenment of its inhabitants. He married Miss Elizabeth G. Swift in Massachusetts in 1853. When the Dillingham Mfg. Co., moved its plant from Glenbeulah to Sheboygan Mr. Slade moved there also and after Mr. Dillingham's death, Mr. and Mrs. Slade and Mrs. Dillingham moved to Pasadena, Cal., where they provided a beautiful home in the land of flowers. Mr. Slade was president of the Dillingham Mfg. Co., at the time of his death.

Jacob Spalinger, 84, who made his home with his daughter, Mrs John Hofschield, 620 S. Fifteenth Street, died at St. Nicholas Hospital at 3 am Monday after a short illness.

Mr. Spalinger was born in Canada Feb 14, 1854 and came to this country at the age of one and one-half years. He spent most of his life in the town of Herman, as a farmer, retiring in 1926. One of his favortie hobbies since then has been fishing.

Survivors are: six daughters, Mrs. John Tomi, McPhearson, Kansas; Mrs. Richard Schmidt, route 2, Sheboygan; Mrs. Emma Wilcox, Eldorado, Kansas; Mrs. John Hofschield, Mrs. Fred Gorr, and Mrs. Archie Hoppe, this city; three sons, William of Erie, Col; Henry of Olney Springs, Col.; and John, this city; 35 grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Bertha Burdick, Portland, Ore. Mrs. Spalinger preceded her husband in death three years ago.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm Thursday at the South West Funeral Home, S Twelfth Street and Union Avenue. The Rev. E.R. Krueger of St. John's Evangelical Church will officiate and burial will be made in St. Paul's cemetery in the town of Sheboygan Falls. The body can now be viewed at the funeral home.

Mrs. Barbara Spalinger, numbered among the earliest settlers of Sheboygan County, died last Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Adam Fischer in the town of Mitchell, her death being due to old age. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon, services being conducted by the Rev. Neitzel of Sheboygan and the remains were taken to the Methodist Cemetery in the town of Sheboygan Falls for burial.

Mrs. Spallinger, who was in her eighty-first year, was born May, 1821, in Turgah, Switzerland, and came to America with her fmaily in 1850. After spending four years in Canada, they came to the town of Herman, this county, and purchased the farm on which son, Jacob Spalinger, now resides. The husband's death occurred in 1887, but there are five children as follows: Jacob and Mrs. Anna Hennig of the town of Herman, Mrs. Adam Fischer of Mitchell, Mrs. Bertha Burdick of this city and Mrs. E.F. Schorer of Osborn, Kansas.

Mrs. Wilhelmina Schmidt died on Tuesday night, May 8, at St. Nicholas hospital, aged 68 years. The deceased who was born in Germany, came to America with her parents when a young girl. The funeral was held on Friday afternoon, from the late home of the decesaed at 1015 Lincoln avenue at 1:30 o'clock and at 2:00 o'clock from St. John's church, the Rev. E.R. Krueger officiating. Internment in the Siemers cemetery in the Town of Herman.

Sheboygan - A young boy fifteen years old, named Max Stern, was drowned, while in bathing, in the town of Herman, Sheboygan County on the 28th ult. Young Stern was a student in the Mission School at Franklyn. His parents reside at Louisville, Ky. for which city he expected to start the next morning. The money his father had sent him to pay his traveling expenses was used to convey his body home.

Robert Swanton aged 91 years died last evening at his home 318 Spencer court of general debility. He was born in England on December 25, 1817. He came to this country when a small boy.

Up to the time of the Civil War he lived in Vermont. He enlisted in the ware as cavalryman and served for three years. He came to this city fifteen years ago. During that time he lived at his late home on Spencer court.

He is survived by two granddaughters Mrs. James Cornell, N 4th St and Miss Clara Pomeroy who lived with him.

The funeral will be held from the house Friday at 2pm Interment will be in Wildwood cemetery. Rev Nimitz of the M.E. church will officiate at the services.

Funeral services for Alois Schinabeck, 47, who died at St Nicholas Hospital Monday morning, will be held Thursday morning at 8:30 o'clock at the Gerend Funeral Home and at 9 o'clock at St. Dominic's church with the Rev. George Knackert officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

The body can be viewed at the funeral home from tonight at 7 o'clock on. Mr. Schinabeck was born in Sheboygan on August 5, 1894, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alois Schinabeck Sr. He attended Holy Name School and was a faithful member of St Dominic's church and its Holy Name Society.

Survivors are one sister, Mrs. Nick J. Weber, one niece and five nephews, all of this city, and a cousin, Louis Schinabeck, route 2 Mill Road, with whom he made his home. His parents and three sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services for Alois Schinabeck, who died Monday morning at St. Nicholas hospital, were held at 8:30am Thursday at the Gerend Funeral Home and at 9 o'clock with a requiem mass at St. Dominic's church. The Rev. George Knackert officiated and burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers were Clem, Norman and Bernard Weber, Sylvarius, Joseph and George Schinabeck.

Members of the Holy Name society at St. Dominic's church held a vigil at the funeral home Wednesday evening at 7:30 o'clock.

Among those attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. John Buhl, Alois Meyer and George Lax of Chilton, Anton Meyer, Mr and Mrs. Gottfried Meyer, Miss Geraldine Meyer and Mrs. Henry Baer of St Nazianz; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Perronne and Anton Forster Sr. of Haven.

Peter P. Stein, 61, of School Hill, died Thursday at the University Hospital in Madison, WI following a short illness.

He was born December 8,1908, in the town of Meeme, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Stein. He married Marie Meyer, October 16,1929, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in St. Nazianz.

They operated a farm on Route 1, Valders until March 1963 when they moved to School Hill. He had been working for Scotty Smith Construction Company of Sheboygan. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill and of its Holy Name Society.

Surviving are his wife; four daughters; Mrs. Roland Meyer and Mrs. Ray Schulz, both of Sheboygan, Mrs. Orlan Ramaker, Route 1 Valders and Mrs. Phil Matz of Menominee, Michigan; eight grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Peter Felton and Mrs. Peter Miller, both of Sheboygan, Mrs. John Meyer of St Nazianz and Mrs. Elmer Schill and Mrs. Edward Junk, both of Manitowoc; and four brothers, William of Chilton, Arthur of Route 1, Newton; Alfred of Sheboygan and Sylvester of Manitowoc. One sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home in Kiel and at the Holy Trinity Church in School Hill, with the Rev. Reginald Schrimpf, pastor the celebrant of the funeral Mass. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Marie A. Stein, 86, a resident of Sheboygan Retirement Home for the past two years, formerly of School Hill, died Saturday afternoon, July 1992, at Calumet Medical Center in Chilton, after suffering an apparent heart attack at the wedding service of her granddaughter at St. Gregory Church in St Nazianz.

She was the former Marie Meyer, born January 25,1906, in the town of Eaton, daughter of the late Michael and Theresa Knier Meyer. She attended school at St. Gregory?s Catholic School in St Nazianz.

On October 16, 1929, she married Peter Stein at St. Gregory?s Catholic Church in St Nazianz. The couple farmed in the town of Liberty until 1962, whey they moved to School Hill. Her husband, Peter, preceded her death May 7, 1970. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church School Hill, Christian Women?s Society, and a former member of St. Nazianz Senior Citizens.

Survivors include four daughters; Laverne {Roland} Meyer of Sheboygan, Virginia {Raymond} Schulz of Sheboygan, Evelyn {Orland} Ramaker of Pigeon Lake and Yvonne Metz, New Buffalo, Michigan; ten grandchildren; two sisters, Agatha {George} Heimann and Hilda {Hugo} Woelfel. One sister and three brothers preceded her in death.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am Tuesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill, with the Rev. Reginald Schrimpf, pastor, officiating, preceded by brief family rites at 9:30am at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home from 4-8 PM Monday {today} and Tuesday from 8am until the services. A wake service will be held at 7:30 PM at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home. A memorial has been established in her name.

Alfred Schommer, 29. died at St. Nicholas hospital Sunday afternoon after a short illness.

Mr. Schommer was born in this city May 31, 1906, and attended Holy Name school. For the past three years he was employed at the Badger State Tannery.

Survivors are: his widow, his parents Mr. and Mrs. F. K. Schommer of this city, two brothers, Francis of this city and Raymond of Evansville, Ill., and two sisters, Elizabeth and Hildegarde of St. Petersburg, Florida.

Mr. Schommer was well acquainted in the city and enjoyed a large ?? of friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. at the Robert Kroos Funeral Home and at 9 o'clock at Holy Name church. Rt. Rev. Msgr. Philipp Dreis will officiate and burial will be made in Calvary cemetery. The body can be viewed at the Funeral Home from Tuesday evening until the hour of service.

Ernst Solomon, 67 years old, passed away at 4:10 a.m. Sunday at St. Nicholas Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born on April 14, 1868, in Germany, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fredrich Solomon. In 1912, he was married to Louise Karow and the family came soon thereafter to this country, settling in Sawyer, Wis. In 1925, the family came to Sheboygan, where the deceased was employed by the Sheboygan Novelty company until two years ago. For some time he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. William Horn, 1513 Martin avenue.

Survivors are the widow; three daughters, Mrs. Horn, Mrs. Gust Forland of Sturgeon Bay, and Mrs. Harry Haberichter of Chicago; a brother and several sisters in Germany; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ballhorn Funeral Temple, the Rev. E. R. Krueger, pastor of St. John's Evangelical church, officiating. Interment will be in Wildwood cemetery.

To Be Buried Beside Her Husband in the Town of Lyndon Cemetery

At Eight O'clock Saturday evening the spirit of Mrs. Georgina Sprague Mead passed beyond the river.

Mrs. Mead's demise came after a lingering illness which dated form the last January. Since June9th she had been confined to her bed.

The decedent was born in Putman County, New York on November 14th, 1843, attained the age of 65 years. Some fifty years ago she came to this county with her parents, settling in the town of Lyndon. There she had resided up to 15 Years ago when she moved to the home of her daughter at the Sheboygan County Asylum. She was united in marriage to Smith Mead, who died several years ago.

Besides her daughter Mrs. Andrews Whiffen, another daughter, Mrs. W. S. Sweet, a missionary at Hangebow, China survives her.

The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 12:30 o'clock from the house of Mrs. Whiffen, at the Sheboygan County Insane Asylum of which Mr. Whiffen is superintendent. Interment will be in the Town of Lyndon cemetery beside the grave of her husband. Rev. Elmer E. Dresser of the First Baptist church will officiate in the funeral ceremony.

Mrs. Christiana Siegwarth, 42, 1718 S. Eleventh street, widow of the late Frank Siegwarth, passed away at her home Monday at 10:05 p.m. after a lingering illness.

Mrs. Siegwarth, daughter of Mr. Anton Ackermann, was born in Oshkosh on November 13, 1896. She was married to Frank Siegwarth on September 13, 1916, at the Holy Name church in Sheboygan by the late Rt. Rev. Msgr. Dominic Thill.

Survivors are two sons, Frank and John, at home; three daughters, Misses Lorraine, Audrey and Mary, at home; three brothers and one sister. Her husband preceded her in death on December 5, 1937.

She was a kind and loving mother, devoted to her family. The body will lie in state at the Gerend funeral home where friends and relatives may view her from Wednesday evening until the time of the services.

Funeral services for Mrs. Christiana Siegwarth, widow of the late Frank Siegwarth, who passed away last Monday night, were held this morning at 8:30 o'clock at the Gerend Funeral home and at 9 o'clock with a requiem mass at the Holy Name church. The Rev. Carl Wagner officiated and interment made in the Siegwarth lot in Calvary cemetery. The Rev. Ed. Ziegled {sic, Ziegler} officiated at the grave.

Members of the Moose lodge viewed the body at the funeral home in a body Thursday evening. The many floral tributes and the large number of friends and relatives who viewed the body and attended the services attested to the esteem in which the deceased was held.

Pallbearers were Louis O'Keefe, Jr., Harold Pallaski, Jerome Wachsmuth, James McLaughlin, William Ackermann and John Van Ess. Among the out-of-town people who attended the services was William Ackermann of Oshkosh.

Ernest Scheunert, 86, formerly of Silver Creek, died Saturday at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility, where he had lived for several years.

Mr. Scheunert was born May 17, 1895, at Silver Creek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Scheunert. He lived in the Silver Creek area all his life until moving to Rocky Knoll.

Mr. Scheunert was a veteran of World War I.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. today at St. Paul United Church of Christ at Silver Creek. The Rev. William Kesting, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be Tuesday in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the church from 6 p.m. tonight until the time of services.

A memorial has been established in Mr. Scheunert's name for St. Paul United Church of Christ.

Elmer W. Schutt, 67, of 1645 North Ave., died Sunday afternoon at St. Nicholas Hospital, following a brief illness.

He was born on Jan. 25, 1908, at Alden, Ill., a son of the late August and Anna Schutt.

His family moved to Sheboygan when he was a child and he attended U. S. Grant School.

On Aug. 10, 1929, he married Eleanora Thiel, also of Sheboygan, at the Ebenezer United Church of Christ parsonage.

Mr. Schutt was employed at the Sellinger Glove Co. and was self-employed with the Schutt Service Station at N. 15th and North {{Ave.}} until 1959. He then became an employe {sic} of the Polar Ware Co., where he worked until retiring in 1970.

He was a member of Ebenezer Church.

Surviving are his widow; a son, Robert A. of Sheboygan; a daughter, Mrs. Dale {Bonnie} Roever of Sheboygan; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Walter Prescher of Sheboygan and Mrs. Floyd Schnitke of Harvard, Ill.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels, with the Rev. Ruben Grosshuesch, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the chapels after 4 p.m. Tuesday.

A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Schutt's name.

Merlin W. Sebald, 57, of 540 Meadow Lane, Sheboygan Falls; died this morning at Milwaukee County Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born April 28, 1924, in Plymouth, a son of Emma Kademan Sebald and the late Francis Sebald.

Mr. Sebald graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1942.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1942 to 1946.

On May 3, 1937, he and Jean Caan were married in Sheboygan Falls.

Mr. Sebald was a salesman for Richardson Industries of Sheboygan Falls.

He was a member of First Reformed Church, Sheboygan Falls, the West Bend Builders Association, American Legion Post 149 and was a member of the Sheboygan Falls Recreation Board.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Richard {Susan} Teunissen of Sheboygan Falls and Mrs. John {Sara} Schmidt of Holland, Mich.; four grandchildren; one brother, Richard, Sheboygan Falls; and his mother of Sheboygan Falls.

Funeral services will be at 4:30 p.m. Friday at First Reformed Church, Sheboygan Falls, with the Rev. Delbert Jorgensen officiating, following family services at 1:15 p.m. in the church's Fellowship Hall. Burial will be in Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.

Friends may call at Huehns Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls from 4 p.m. Thursday until 11 a.m. Friday and at the church from noon until the time of services.

A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Sebald's name for the church.

George A. Sixel, 66, of 4606 County Trunk J, died Tuesday afternoon at St. Mary's Hospital in Milwaukee, where he had been a patient one week.

He was born March 15, 1915, in the Town of Centerville, Manitowoc County, son of Otto L. and Lydia Mueller Sixel. He attended district grade school.

During World War II, Mr. Sixel served in the U.S. Army.

On May 4, 1946, he married Pauline Siemers of the Town of Meeme at St. John United Church of Christ parsonage at Schwartzwald. The couple moved to Sheboygan in 1947, and to the Town of Sheboygan in 1951.

Mr. Sixel was employed at Kohler Co. for several years and was later proprietor of his own dairy farm in the Town of Sheboygan, going into semi-retirement in 1979.

He is a member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Floyd {Beverly} Voss of Route 1, Elkhart Lake; four grandchildren; a brother, Lester of Sheboygan.

Two brothers preceded him in death.

A private family funeral service will be held Thursday at 8 p.m. at Ballhorn Funeral Chapel. The Rev. H. William Jordan, pastor of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, will officiate. Burial will take place Friday at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral home.

Mrs. George Senglaub passed away Saturday at Trinity hospital, Milwaukee, of heart trouble.

Mrs. Senglaub's home was near Waldo. She had been sick for some time and came to Plymouth and remained with her parents for awhile, but growing worse was taken to Milwaukee about two weeks ago where physicians informed the family that she had but a short time to live.

The deceased was born in Mitchell, thirty-eight years ago Nov. 18. November 20, 1901, she was married to Geo. Senglaub. Her maiden name was Hattie Wichman and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Wichman of this city survive as do her husband and a sister, Mrs. Emma Pfrang of Plymouth and two brothers, Henry Wichman of Loyal and William Wichman of Greenwood. She leaves no children.

The funeral took place at the home northwest of Waldo yesterday, Rev. Proehl of the Lutheran church conducted the services. Interment was in the Onion River cemetery. - Plymouth Reporter.

The funeral of William Sprenger who died early Monday morning at the home of his daughter Mrs. Rudolph Sommer, 1325 North Twelfth street, was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Schultz officiated. Interment was in the Lutheran cemetery.

Sheboygan county is suffering an epidemic of fatal accidents.

First came the shocking accident of Feb. 9 in which three young ladies lost their lives, then the crossing accident of yesterday and this morning Michael Straub by a fall in the city of Plymouth sustained a broken neck resulting in instant death.

Mr. Straub, who is a retired farmer residing at 323 Plymouth street in that city left his home to take the train for a visit to relatives and friends in Lima and Lyndon and when near the Methodist church about 175 feet from his home he fell on the sidewalk, sustaining a broken nose and broken neck. The only witness to the sad accident was Walter Fett who hurried to the assistance of the elderly gentleman with the intention of assisting him to rise. It was then that he discovered that he was unconscious and when a physician arrived a few minutes after he had been removed to his home, it was ascertained that he was dead.

Mr. Straub arose at his usual time this morning and after partaking of a hearty breakfast left hurridly to catch the morning train, a daughter Mrs. Schneider of Lyndon, looking forward to a visit from her father today.

Whether he slipped or stubbed his toe will never be definitely known. When picked up he was lying face downward and unconscious. As it was near train time, no doubt he was hurrying to reach the depot when he fell.

Coroner Feagan was summoned from this city and upon his arrival viewed the remains and took the testimony of the eye witness, Mr. Fett and that of the physicians and others who were first on the scene.

The accident occurred within a stone's throw of his residence and there was a pathetic scene when he was carried into that home from which he had journeyed forth only a few minutes previous. At first Mrs. Straub believed he was only stunned but later the news was broken to her of his death.

Mr. Straub was born in Erie county, New York, October 14, 1845 and came to Wisconsin with his parents in 1852 when but seven years of age. For several years he followed the occupation of a farmer and did some carpenter work in the town of Lima. Later he retired and had resided in Plymouth for several years. He was married to Miss Henrietta Gass, a number of years ago, and is survived by the widow and one daughter, Mrs. George Schneider of Lyndon.

The funeral will in all probability be held Saturday with interment in the cemetery at Onion River.

While a broken neck brought instantaneous death to Michael Straub of Plymouth, it was the belief of the physicians summoned that a stroke of apoplexy brought about the fall which resulted in his death.

Mr. Straub who was a fleshy man, had partaken of a hearty breakfast and was hurrying to make a train when he fell. The fact that he fell on his face breaking his nose lends weight to the view of the physicians, for by using his hands he could have avoided injury to his face, and no doubt to his neck. The place where he fell was perfectly smooth, not an obstruction over which he could stumble. This led the physicians to make a more thorough examination and while there is no question that the direct cause of his death was from a broken neck yet the fall was undoubtedly caused by a stroke of apoplexy.

Henry F. Schmidt, of Plymouth, died on Tuesday. His death came as a surprise and shock to the community. He lived with his family in Plymouth for the last twenty years.

He was out picking hickory nuts near the city, when he fell from one of the branches. He felt no pain at first and started to walk for his home, but had gone but a short distance when he had to have assistance to continue on his way. It appears that in the fall to the ground, he injured his spine, and the next day, his lower extremities became paralyzed. He was taken to the Plymouth hospital and died while undergoing an operation.

Mr. Schmidt was born in Milwaukee, May 4, 1859, and married Miss Lina Wandersleben of that city in 1885. Two years later they came to Plymouth and with the exception of one year they spent in Medford, they have resided in Plymouth since coming there. He is survived by his wife, two children, Oswald of Plymouth and Mrs. George Stein of Evansville, Ind., a brother, Joseph, of Milwaukee, and a sister, Mrs. Joseph Kuehne of Canada.

Services were held yesterday afternoon from his home, the Rev. Schmidt officiating. Interment was in the Woodlawn cemetery of Plymouth.

The funeral of Nicholas Spieles was held this afternoon. Interment was in the Wildwood cemetery. Members of the Brewers Union, to which he belonged, marched headed by Schmidt's band.

Beverly J. Schirmer, 68, of Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility, died on Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, at Rocky Knoll in Plymouth.

She was born on Nov. 6, 1935 in Glenbeulah, a daughter of the late Leo and Francis {Fee} Gahagan.

Beverly married Lanny Schirmer on Oct. 23, 1954 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. She enjoyed artwork and drawing and in her early years enjoyed bowling and playing cribbage.

She is survived by her husband of Plymouth; two sons {& daughter-in-laws} of Plymouth, 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a sister of Plymouth. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronny �Smiley� Schirmer; and three sisters, Patricia, Marylyn, and Audrey.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 1, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Plymouth with the Rev. David Van Dixhorn officiating.

Friends and family may gather at 9 a.m. Monday morning at the cemetery prior to the service.

William Sinz died very suddenly at Glenbeulah, Saturday night. A party was being held in honor of his thirty-fifth birthday and about 11:00 he was sitting conversing when he was suddenly stricken with apoplexy and dropped from his chair to the floor, but did not expire immediately as was at first reported. He lived about a half hour, dying, however, before Dr. Felter, who was summoned could reach him. At the time of Mr. Sinz's death, he was owner of the hotel at Glenbeulah. About seven years ago he moved from here where he had been proprietor of the Union house for a year or two. Mr. Sinz's health had been very poor for a good many years, he, at times, having been rendered nearly helpless by rheumatism. A wife and young son and daughter are left. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Mathas of the Lutheran church of this city conducting services.

Cornelius J. Schaap, 79 of 227 Hill Court, Plymouth, died Thursday afternoon at Plymouth Hospital, where he had been a patient for two weeks.

"Casy" Schaap was born Sept. 2, 1903, in the Town of Sheboygan Falls, son of Christ and Rena Van Sluys Schaap.

He attended district Rathbun School in the Town of Greenbush.

On October. 17, 1928, he married Helen Lindow In Plymouth. The couple farmed in the towns of Greenbush and Plymouth. Mr. Schaap also was employed as a carpenter contractor.

The couple moved to Plymouth in 1954.

He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Plymouth, and a member of the Plymouth and Franklin skat clubs.

Survivors are his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Gordon {Marlene} Karsten and Mrs. Willard {Gladys} Beringer, both of the Town of Plymouth; Mrs. Milton {Louella} Meinnert of the Town of Sheboygan Falls and Mrs. Eugene {Cleo} Leonard of Kiel; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edward of Plymouth and John of Sheboygan Falls; four sisters, Mrs. Harko Veldmann and Mrs. Gerald Hofschild, both of Plymouth; Mrs. Cyril Lauer of Sheboygan Falls and Mrs. Arthur Wimmler of Cascade.

Two daughters, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wittkopp Funeral Home, Plymouth. The Rev. Dennis Pegorsch, co-pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Saturday and until the time of services.

Paul W. Strebig, 78, of 22130 Rockville Road, Kiel, died shortly after admittance to St. Nicholas Hospital Tuesday evening, after being stricken by a heart attack at his home.

He was born July 8, 1905, in Medford, a son of the late Charlie and Annie Werner Strebig.

He attended school in Medford.

On Dec. 3, 1932, he and Milda Jaschinski were married in Sheboygan.

They resided in Sheboygan until 1954, when they moved to Kiel, where they owned and operated the A&W Root Beer Stand until 1958. Mr. Strebig then worked at Kiel Bottling Works until retiring in 1969.

Mr. Strebig was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Kelly, Mendota Heights, Minn; two grandchildren; two brothers, Henry of Tomahawk and Harold, Appleton, and one sister, Mrs. Chester Nelson of Westboro.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, with the Rev. Richard Warnke, pastor of Trinity Church, officiating. Burial will be at Schleswig Cemetery, Rockville.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. Friday until the time of service.

Milton Otto Schmidt, 71, of 612 Roosevelt Road, Kohler, dies at his home, apparently of a heart attack, on Sunday afternoon.

Mr. Schmidt was born May 25, 1911 in Sheboygan, son of Richard and Bertha Spalinger Schmidt. He graduated from Kohler High School in 1929.

On June 12, 1940, he married Ramona M. Baldwin in Kohler.

Mr. Schmidt was employed at Kohler Co. from 1929 until his retirement in 1976.

He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Kohler and its Lutheran Chorus. He was also a member of Kohler Quarter Century Club and was president of Retired Persons.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Roland {Kathleen} Mertes of Oostburg, Mrs. Kenwyn {Jeanenne} Thompson of Kohler, and Mrs. Udo {Carol} Behm of Littleton, Colo.; two sons, Lee of Hampton, VA and Richard of Waukesha; 10 grandchildren, and one brother, Oliver of Kohler.

He was preceeded in death by one brother and two sisters.

A funeral memorial service will be held at 8 pm Wednesday at Huehns Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls. The Rev. Mark Krueger, pastor of Bethany Lutheran Church, will officiate. Private burial will be held on Thursay at Kohler Woodland Cemetery.

Friends may call at Huehns Funeral Home from 4 pm Wednesday until the time of services.

The remains of the late Rudolph Scheller, 39, who died at Waukesha, after an illness of only three days with pneumonia, arrived in the city this afternoon on the 3:10 Northwestern train and were conveyed to the Fessler undertaking parlors, for preparation and the latter part of the afternoon were removed to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kerwein, 827 Pennsylvania avenue, rear, from where the funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon with services conducted by the Rev. F. T. Eilert, pastor of the Evangelical Emanuel church, N. Nineth st and Erie avenue. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery.

Mr. Scheller was born in West Prussia, Germany. At the age of 18 yrs he migrated to this country, coming with his mother, Mrs. Frieda Scheller, and one brother, Louis, both of whom are now residing in McMillan, near Marshfield. The deceased, who left this city for Waukesha three months ago, was employed as a moulder by the Kohler Co., for a period of fifteen years, until his departure from this city.

He was married to Miss Clara Thieme, daughter of Herman Thieme, N. Thirteenth St. Mrs. Scheller preceded her husband in death two years ago in September.

Surviving the father are three children, Marie 11, Dorothy 6, and Carl 3. Besides, he leaves his mother and two brothers, Louis and August residing in Minnesota.

Was first believed to have been William Soch, of Kohler - Fell on Street and died without regaining consciousness before a physician who was called arrived.

Ed Scheller, 51, an employee of the Kohler company's plant, living at 816 N. Nineth street, was stricken with apoplexy at 11 o'clock this morning while walking along the sidewalk near the Struebing garage, Nineth Street between Niagara and Ontario avenues and died before he could make known his name. He was identified at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon by Walter Ireland, employee at the Kohler office.

First intimation of the man's death was given when employees of the garage were attracted to the street by the gesticulations of an aged man who upon seeing the stricken man fall to the ground, motioned for those in the garage to come out. He walked on and is not known by those whose attention he attracted.

The stricken man was carried into the garage, where he died before a physician arrived. The coroner was notified and the body was removed to the undertaking establishment of Henry Fessler. Identification was made possible by the abscence of part of the man's fingers on one hand. He was known to have been sick for some time.

Besides his wife the deceased is survived by three grown up children. His mother also lived with him.

Martha Schug, 87, a resident of Morningside Nursing Center for the past two years, died there Wednesday, June 2, 1999. Funeral arrangements are pending at Ramm-Ziegler-Novak-Rettke Funeral Home, Southside Chapel.

Martha M. Schug, 87, of Sheboygan, died on Wednesday evening, June 2, 1999 at Morningside Health Care Center.

Martha was born in Hollandtown on June 3, 1911, a daughter of the late Henry and Henrietta DeBruin. She attended local schools and in 1929 married Robert Reinwand. He preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 1967. On March 7, 1971, she married Edwin J. Schug at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. After their marriage, the couple had lived in Merrill until moving back to Sheboygan in the early 1980s.

Mrs. Schug was a homemaker and a very good cook. She enjoyed bowling and loved gardening and crafts. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Martha is survived by her husband of 28 years; three daughters; one son; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; a sister, and a brother. She was preceded in death by three brothers, five sisters, and a granddaughter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Martha on Saturday, June 5, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Glenn Powers as celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church, 1305 Humboldt Ave., on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 10:30 a.m.

Lois Margaret Spieker, age 65, of Adell, was lovingly called home to be with her Father in Heaven on Tuesday morning, June 1, 1999, at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Lois was born on Nov. 4, 1933 in McClusky, N.D., a daughter of the late Rev. Edmund and Florence Kleinert Zapf.

She graduated from high school in Edgeley, N.D. and went on to attend Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minn. and Concordia College in Seward, Neb. Lois pursued an education major and taught grades 1-8 at the parochial school in Adell.

On June 16, 1956, Lois was united in marriage to Merlin W. Spieker at St. John Lutheran Church in Sherman Center with her father, Rev. Zapf, officiating. Lois and Merlin farmed in the town of Sherman for many years.

In her younger years, Lois played the organ for her father's church services. She also taught piano lessons, confirmation classes and Sunday School classes.

Lois was the LTI supervisor for the Random Lake area and was a former member of the Random Lake Library Board. Until the time of her illness, Lois was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association and an Avon representative, which she greatly enjoyed.

Lois was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She went through life with a song both in her golden heart and on her precious lips. Lois enjoyed gardening, music and was a lover of poodles. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren. She was loved dearly and will be deeply missed forever.

Survivors include her husband, Merlin; three children, seven grandchildren; one sister, one sister-in-law, her mother-in-law; nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Edmund and Florence Zapf, her father-in-law, Otto Spieker; her brother; a sister-in-law; a brother-in-law; her aunt Lydia and Aunt Til and other aunts and uncles.

The funeral service for Lois Spieker will be held Saturday; June 5 at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Sherman Center. The Rev. Bryan Osladil, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Olga A. Slapnick, age 84 of Sheboygan, passed away at her residence on Sunday, June 6, 1999. She was born in Sheboygan on July 18, 1914, a daughter of the late Blaz and Antonija Badovinac Hlade.

Florian Slapnick and Olga Hlade were united in marriage on July 24, 1965 at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1982. She attended Ss. Cyril and Methodius grade school and graduated from Sheboygan High School.

Olga was employed at Lakeland Manufacturing for over 35 years until her retirement.

She was a member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Christian Women's Society, Mission Ladies of the parish, Slovenian Women's Union K.S.K.J., Queen of May Society in which she was the current treasurer and served on the board of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America.

Olga enjoyed bowling on many leagues throughout the years and enjoyed sharing her time and talents by sewing for many family members and friends.

Surviving Olga are her daughter, one sister, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Olga on Tuesday, June 8, 1999 at 7 p.m. at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, with the Rev. Richard Fleischmann, pastor, as celebrant and Rev. Richard Cerpich concelebrating. Friends may call at the CHURCH on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until time of Mass. Interment will be held in Greendale Cemetery.

Myrtile B. Saunier, age 75, formerly of Menominee, MI passed away Sunday, June 6, 1999 in Marinette. Myrtle was born June 18, 1923 in Porterfield, Wisconsin the daughter of Theodore and Sarah Johnson. She resided in Menominee for most of her life and for the past ten years in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. She attended school in Porterfield.

She married Joseph Saunier on August 30, 1941. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1980. She was a former member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed being with friends and crocheting and embroidering.

Survivors include one son, four daughters, 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandsons, one sister, many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded by a son, four brothers and seven sisters.

Arno E. Schulz, age 90, of Plymouth, died at his home on Saturday, June 12, 1999.

Arno was born on June 2, 1909 in the town of Greenbush, a son of the late Walter and Edna {Ladwig} Schulz. He attended rural area schools.

On Aug. 6, 1932 he was united in marriage to Mildred Blanke in Plymouth.

He had been employed by the Plymouth Federation and later with the Plymouth Utilities. Arno enjoyed fishing and loved to play cards. He was a member of the Plymouth SKAT Club for 50 years and served as their president for 30 years.

Arno was a faithful and active member of Salem United Church of Christ.

Arno is survived by his wife, one daughter and son-in-law, three grandchildren, a step-brother and a half-brother. He was preceded in death by a daughter at birth, a son and three brothers.

A funeral service for Arno will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 16 at Salem United Church of Christ with Rev. James Hoppert, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Friends may call at the church, 217 Salem Drive, Plymouth, on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the time of services.

Vi Sacher passed away unexpectedly June 17, 1999 at her home in Naples, Fla.

Vi was born Sept. 18, 1918 in Sheboygan, Wis., to Joseph and Anna Starich.

She is survived by a daughter, a granddaughter, three step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren and many wonderful relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother.

Vi treasured spending time with family and friends. She also loved animals and delighted in the natural beauty of the Naples area.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Olga Schumacher, 95, a resident of Sunny Ridge for the past seven years, died there Wednesday morning, June 9, 1999.

Olga was born Jan. 15, 1904 in Oconto County to Philip and Anna Dorfschmidt Reinert. She was confirmed into her faith on June 9, 1918.

On Nov. 2, 1921, she married Rudolph Schumacher in Gillette, Wis. The couple came to Sheboygan in 1923.

Mr. Schumacher was a longtime employee of the C. Reiss Coal Co. The couple resided on North 26th Street for many years. Mr. Schumacher preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 1962. Mrs. Schumacher was a longtime member of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, two daughters and sons-in-law, 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and a sister. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two infant sons, two brothers and two sisters.

Graveside services of committal will be held Friday, June 11, 1999 at noon at Lutheran Cemetery. The Rev. David Cecil, pastor of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, will officiate.

Mrs. Rose I. Spradau, age 92, formerly of Plymouth, passed away Saturday afternoon at Rocky Knoll Health Facility where she had been a patient for the past five years.

The former Rose Plautz was born on May 18, 1895, at Adell, Wis., a daughter of the late Herman and Mathilda Torke Plautz. She attended Plymouth schools.

She was married on March 25, 1914, to Carl A. Spradau at Cascade, Wis. The couple lived in rural Cascade, the Town of Scott and since 1929 in the City of Plymouth. Her husband preceded her in death on April 11, 1983.

She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth and a member of the Ladies Aid Society of the Church. She also belonged to the Service Star Legion of Plymouth.

Survivors include two sons, Eugene {Elvera} Spradau of Ply-ju mouth {sic}, and Edward of Cascade; five daughters, Mrs. Ruth Arnst of Sheboygan; Mrs. Kenneth {Marie} Knowles of Plymouth; Mrs. Jerome {Irene} Trimberger of Plymouth; Mrs. Robert {Vera} Meyer of Plymouth and Mrs. Jerome {Mildred} Skelton of Plymouth; one son-in-law, Roy Zwerg of Plymouth; 28 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Herman Plautz of West Bend, and one sister, Mrs. Amanda Engelman of Pittsville, Wis.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Dorothy Zwerg and Rosella Brinkman; one daughter-in-law, DeLores; two sons-in-law, Otto Arnst and Everett Brinkman; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

He was born Oct., 31, 1892, at Dundee, son of Emil and Augusta Vetter Spradau.

He attended district school.

On March 25, 1914, he was married in Cascade to Rose Plautz. The couple lived at Glenwood City for one year and then returned to the Cascade area, where he farmed in the Town of Mitchell and the Town of Scott. The couple moved to Plymouth 55 years ago.

Mr. Spradau was employed by the City of Plymouth for 50 years before retiring.

He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth.

Mr. Spradau was a member of Plymouth Fire Deptment {sic} for many years.

He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles in Plymouth.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Eugene and Edward, both of Plymouth; six daughters, Mrs. Otto {Ruth} Arnst of Sheboygan, Mrs. Kenneth {Marie} Knowles, Mrs. Roy {Dorothy} Zwerg, and Mrs. Jerome {Irene} Trimberger and Rms.{sic} Robert {Vera} Meyer and Mrs. Jerome {mildred} Skelton, all of Plymouth; 27 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Emma Scott of West Bend.

Francis E. Skelton, 69, of 1608 Eastern Ave., Plymouth, died at Rocky Knoll Thursday afternoon. He had been a patient there three months.

He was born July 29, 1908, in the Town of Mitchell, a son of Joseph and Eva Payne Skelton.

He attended district school.

On Feb. 7, 1927, he married Malinda Plautz in Cascade. She died Jan. 5, 1960.

On April 8, 1961, he married Mrs. Shirley Nelson in Plymouth.

Mr. Skelton lived and farmed in the Towns of Scott and Mitchell until moving to Plymouth two years ago.

He served as custodian at Plymouth High School for six years, retiring in 1970.

He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Plymouth.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Elroy {Phyllis} Harder of Route 1, Burnette, and Mrs. Matt {Shirley} Doherty of Plymouth; one son, Robert of Route 3, Sheboygan Falls; five stepchildren; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 10 grandchildren, and two brothers, Willard Skelton of the Town of Mitchell and Merle of Parnell. One son preceded him in death.

Adolph Schillingosky, aged 49, died at his home on 1022 High avenue Thursday at 5:45 p.m. following an illness of six weeks.

Mr. Schillingosky was born on September 24, 1884 in Manistee, Mich., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Schillingosky. Later the family moved to Sheboygan, where Mr. Schillingosky attended the Bethlehem Lutheran school. He was married to Miss Emilie Koch in October, 1906, and for the past twelve years had been employed as a fireman at the Vollrath company.

Survivors are his wife, two sons, Arthur and Orville at home, one brother, Otto of this city, two sisters, Mrs. Louis Silvers of California, and Mrs. Bertha Tellier of this city, two step sisters, and one step brother.

Funeral rites will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Steffen Funeral Home, 1018 Swift avenue. The Rev. H.H. Wegner of the Bethlehem Lutheran church will officiate and interment will be made in Wildwood cemetery.

The body may be viewed at the Funeral Home from Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock until the hour of services.

Funeral services for Adolph Schillingosky, who passed away Thursday following and illness of six weeks, were held Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Swift Funeral Home, 1018 Swift avenue. The Rev. H.H. Wegner of the Bethlehem Lutheran church officiated and interment was made in Wildwood cemetery.

Pallbearers were John Piening, Joe Mickish, Frank Neese, Edmund Schroeder, Herman Hinze, and William Koch.

During the services Miss Ruth Wambsganns and Mrs. Arthur Manske sang two selections, "Savior, I Follow On" and "Just As I Am." Professor Capelle played the accompaniment.

Out-of-town guests at the services were: Mrs. L. F. Gartman, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gartman, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Gartman, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Hessler, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Dyke, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Butzen, Town of Wilson; Mr. and Mrs. August Zimmermann of Centerville; William Koch of Plymouth; Arthur Jacobs and daughters, Violet and Doris and Lester Jacobs, all of Burlington.

William J. Schubert, 88, who resided at 823 Virginia Ave. with his niece and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph J. Ploetz, died Friday evening.

He was born June 24, 1875 in Germany and came to the United States at the age of six. He married Miss Elizabeth Cerletty in Milwaukee in 1916 and later moved to Kiel where he was employed by the Laun Furniture Manufacturing Co. for 28 years.

His wife preceded him in death in 1958 and he moved to Sheboygan in 1962.

As a child he attended Immanuel Lutheran School in Sheboygan. He was a member of Modern Woodmen of America.

Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Joseph {Lydia} Diehl of Sheboygan; one grand-daughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Gerend's Funeral Home with the Rev. August Grollmus, pastor of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church, officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery Monday.

Friends may call at Gerend's Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Sunday.

Smith - William Dwight Smith, second son of Rev. Cornelius Smith of this city, deceased at Fort McGinnis, Montana, June 24th.

William was formerly well known in Albert Lea, having come with his parents some fourteen years since and resided with them several years. He was born in Sheboygan county, Wis., on the second of Jan., 1848, and spent his minority with his parents, in Wisconsin, and in Steele county in this State, until the removal of the family here in 1868. Soon after his majority he went to Blooming Prairie where he spent about five years. Then after a year or two at Morris, Minn., he went first to the Black Hills, and then to Montano, {sic} where he took a claim in the mining region at Malden neat Fort McGinnis. Here he was engaged in mining operations, until an attack of fever, prevalent in that region, prostrated him, During the following winter his health improved somewhat, but in the spring and summer he declined again, pulmonary disease set in, and he fell victim to its ravages on the 24th of June, aged 34 years, 5 months, and 22 days.

Many who read this notice will remember William Smith. He was a young man of excellent habits and unimpeachable integrity. A little reserved in manner and in society, he nevertheless commanded the esteem and respect of all who knew him. He possessed a character of industry, push, and energy, worthy of honorable mention and admiration. He was successful in business, honestly gaining a start in property that would have made him in time, independent, if life had been spared. He was a good young man, free from dissipation and evil habits, honest, truthful, effectionate {sic}. His memory will be kindly cherished by all who knew him. And the sympathy of his acquaintances will be extended to his father, brother, and sister, who survive him..

Speltz, Isabel - Beloved wife of Walter F. Speltz, passed away Wednesday afternoon at 4:50 at the late residence, 911 Oxford street. Friends can view remains until 11 p. m. Thursday. The body will be shipped to her former home, Sheboygan, Wis., for burial.

Mrs. Mary Suhorepetz, 75, died at 8:45 o'clock last night at her home at 116 South Pabst location. She had been ailing for a month.

The deceased was the widow of John Surorepetz, who died 20 years ago. She was born in Jugo-Slavia in 1860, coming to Ironwood more than 30 years ago. She lived here for several years and then moved to Sheboygan, Wis., where she resided 15 years. She returned to Ironwood 17 years ago.

Surviving are 10 children, Martin of Sheboygan, Mrs. Frank Smaltz of Sharon, Pa., John of Ironwood, Mrs. Frank Mayrle of Cadillac, Mich., Mrs. John Mervar of Sheboygan, Mrs. Martin Muckovetz of Ironwood, Mrs. Louis Schmidt of Gary, Ind., Mrs. Joe Fritz of Milwaukee, Frank of Sheboygan, and Joe of Ironwood. She also leaves a brother, Frank Perasich of Seattle.

Funeral services will be conducted at Holy Trinity church at 8:30 o'clock Saturday morning by the Rev. Carl J. Petranek. Saturday evening the remains will be taken to Sheboygan for burial. The body was taken to the residence this afternoon.

Livingston, Dec. 4 - Funeral services were held here Saturday for Ernest G. Spieth, 87, in the Lutheran church. Burial was in a local cemetery. Born in Germany, Mr. Spieth came to America as a youth, settling first in Wisconsin. He married Anna A. Rosenburgh at Sheboygan in 1884. They moved to Bozeman in 1885 and for some years he operated a brewery there. Later, he took up farming. They removed to Livingstone in 1929. Mrs. Spieth died in 1935.

Eleven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Spieth, four of whom are living.

Lansing - Dr. Anton Stockl, a Lansing physician for 30 years, died of a heart attack Saturday morning at St. Margaret Hospital, Hammond, shortly after the successful delivery of a baby.

Called to the hospital at 4:30 a.m. to deliver the son of Mrs. Arthur Wolf, Gary, the doctor collapsed and died about four hours later.

Dr. Stockle, 62, had lived at 3543 Ridge Rd., with the family of his former partner, Dr. William Potts, who died in 1931.

Services will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. in Burns Funeral Home, 5840 Hohman Ave., Hammond, and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Victor Church, Calumet City. The funeral mass will be sung by the Rev. Robert Doyle.

The body will be taken to Sheboygan, Wis., for burial near Dr. Potts, his close friend ad associate for many years. When Dr. Stockl first came to the Calumet Region to intern at St. Margaret Hospital, he made his home with the Potts family.

He leaves no immediate survivors. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m.

A graduate of Loyola University School of Medicine, Dr. Stockl was a member of the Cook County and Lake County Medical Societies and the American Medical Assn.

Henry Sinner, residing in the town of Mosel on the Manitowoc road, died at St. Nicholas hospital yesterday afternoon at 4 o�clock of Bright�s disease, at the age of 65 years. He was taken to the hospital three weeks ago. The body was taken to Nickel�s undertaking parlors and will be removed to his home Wednesday when the funeral will be held at 1 o�clock from his residence. Rev. Denninger will officiate and interment will take place in the cemetery in Mosel near Denninger�s parsonage. Mr. Sinner was engaged in the shoemaker�s trade and had been a resident of Mosel for a long time. He was born in Germany. Mrs. Peter Sinner, died in the hospital, yesterday morning from the effects of typhoid fever. The body was removed to the J.H. Nickel undertaking departments for burial preparations and later taken to the home of her brother, Peter Heule, N. Eleventh street. Decedent was thirty years of age and leaves a husband, Peter Sinner, and two children. The funeral services will be held at 9 o�clock tomorrow morning at the home of her brother and interment will be in Oostburg. Mrs. Sinner had a large circle of friends who deeply mourn her death. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Heule, deceased, who were residents of Oostburg. A sad coincidence was her death occurring on the first wedding anniversary of her brother-in-law, Charles Sinner.

Mrs. Peter Sinner who was brought here for burial on Tuesday was formerly Miss Annie Heule and well known in this vicinity. She passed away at ther home in Sheboygan due to a siege of typhoid fever.

Peter Sinner, 83, a resident of the Elm Convalescent Home at 1101 Clara Ave., died early Friday evening at St. Nicholas Hospital. A resident of Sheboygan County his entire life, he was born July 6, 1877, at Ada, a son of the late Henry and Wilhelmina Sinner. After attending district school at Ada, Mr. Sinner moved to Sheboygan where he was married to Elsie Beneke on May 12, 1912. She died May 18, 1940. He and a brother, Charles, were cement contractors in Sheboygan for many years. They retired from the business about 20 years ago. Survivors are one son, Norval, of San Diego, Calif.; five daughters, Mrs. Kenneth {Florrence} Robinson of San Diego, Mrs. Robert {Glorian} Pendarvis of La Jolla, Calif., and Mrs. Wilbur {Evelyn} Schmidt, Mrs. Walter {Ruth} Krueger and Mrs. Harvey {Caroline} Beaudry, Sheboygan. Another daughter by a previous marriage, Esther, one brother, a sister a nd 12 grandchildren also survive. Two sisters and three brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels with the Rev. Lloyd Wolters, missionary pastor of Beacon Light Chapel, officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral chapel after noon Sunday.

Funeral services for Peter P. Sinner, 83, a resident of the Elm Convalescent Home who died Friday, were held Monday at 1:30 p..m. at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels, with the Rev. Lloyd Wolters, pastor of the Beacon Light Chapel, officiating. Burial was in the family lot at the Wildwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Alan Schramm, Robert Beaudry, Wilber Schmidt, Sr., Wilber Schmidt, Jr., John Landgraf, and Walter Krueger.

Mrs. Anton Schmirler, 81, a graduate of the Stevens Point Normal school, died suddenly Sunday night at her home in the town of Frankfort, Marathon county, following a heart attack.

Her son, Rev. Albert Schmirler of Orin, S.D., celebrated a requiem mass this morning at St. John the Baptist Catholic church at Wuerzburg, for her funeral. Burial followed in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. Schmirler, the former Louise Gartman, was born in the town of Wilson, Sheboygan county, on June 16, 1868. After graduating from the Normal here she taught school in Sheboygan county and in the town of Frankfort. Her marriage to Mr. Schmirler took place in Sheboygan county on Nov. 25, 1909. The couple had lived in Frankfort the past 40 years.

Surviving are her husband, the one son, a daughter, Sister M. Candida, St. Joseph's hospital, Marshfield, and six stepsons, Anton Schmirler, Jr., of Abbotsford, Bernard at home, Joseph of Edgar, Paul of Schofield and Edward and Hilbert of Wausau.

Elkhart Lake - {Special} - William Schmahl, 78, pioneer resident of this village, died at his home Sunday morning. He was born in town Rhine, May 26, 1862, and learned the shoe repairing trade in 1880 with Carl Schumacher of Kiel. In 1886 he started his own business here. He was village clerk for 10 years, and for 15 years was secretary of the Modern Woodmen. In February of 1901 he was married to Elizabeth Kasper of town Rhine. She survives him with a daughter, Anita, at home. Several children died in infancy. A son, Otto, 13, died in April, 1906, and another son, William Henry, died May 20, 1926, in California at the age of 35. Two brothers, Christian, of town Rhine, and Fred, of Kiel, and two sisters, Mrs. Justina Kuhn of Elkhart Lake, and Mrs. Sophia Manz, of Kiel, survive him also. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Raeder funeral home here. The Rev. F.J. Lowenberg and the Rev. Carl Schmahl of Haven, a nephew of the deceased, will officiate. Burial will be in Elkhart Lake cemetery. Friends may view the body from Tuesday noon until time of services.

Elkhart Lake - Funeral services for John Schmahl who died Thursday morning were held Sunday at 2 o�clock at Trinity Reformed church here. The Rev. Otto Saewert officiated and burial was made in the Reformed cemetery in the town of Rhine. Pallbearers were Arthur Mantz, George J. Kuhn, Emil Raquet, Fred Schmahl, Milton Schmahl and George Schmahl. Services were largely attended by relatives and friends from Sheboygan, Plymouth, Kiel and town of Rhine.

John Schmahl, aged 71, a lifelong resident of the town of Rhine, residing five miles north of Elkhart Lake, died Thursday morning at the Plymouth hospital. Mr. Schmahl was born in the town of Rhine on May 3, 1863, and on May 4, 1892 was married to Miss Augusta Stowater. Besdies his wife, he is survived by three brothers and three sisters, Christian of the town of Rhine, William of Elkhart Lake, Fred of Kiel, Mrs. Jacob Kuhn of Elkhart Lake, and Mrs. Fred Manz and Mrs. John Raquet, both of this city. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Reformed church at Elkhart Lake. The Rev. Otto Saewert officiated and burial was made in the Reformed church cemetery. Mrs. Catharine Schmahl, 74, lifelong resident of the town of Rhine, Sheboygan county, died Wednesday morning at 6:45 o�clock at her home in the town of Rhine, one and one-half miles north east of Elkhart Lake. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Schmahl home and at 2 p.m. at Trinity Evangelical and Reformed church at Elkhart Lake. The Rev. Otto J. Saewert will officiate and interment will be made in the church cemetery in the town of Rhine. Relatives and friends can view the body at the Schmahl home preceding the services. The coffin will not be opened at the church. Mrs. Schmahl was born in the town of Rhine, Sheboygan county, May 28, 1861, the only daughter of Henry and Katharine Pfleger Reineck. In 1873 the family moved to the present home in the town of Rhine where she lived until the time of her death. On March 21, 1875, Mrs. Schmahl was confirmed in the Reformed church in the town of Rhine by the Rev. Ludwig Zunk. On June 28, 1881, she was united in marriage to Henry Schmahl by the Rev. Frank Grether. To this union ten children were born. Mr. Schmahl preceded his wife in death 24 years ago on Dec. 11, 1911. Four daughters also have died. Survivors are: three sons Christian and Fred, at home, and the Rev. Carl G. Schmahl of Cleveland, Wis.; three daughters, Mrs. Philip J. Kuhn of the town of Rhine; Wilhelmina and Elizabeth, at home and two grandchildren. Mrs. Schmahl was a member of the Ladies� Aid society of the First Reformed church at Elkhart Lake.

Kiel - Mrs. George Schmahl, aged 70, passed away at her home in town of Rhine Monday afternoon at 1:45 after a lingering illness of three years. Mrs. Schmahl, nee Eva Holzmann, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Holzmann and was born on July 1, 1863 on the Holzmann homestead in town of Rhine, where she was married to George Schmahl on April 4, 1888. The couple resided in the town of Rhine all their lives, Mr. Schmahl having died there on April 15, 1930. Survivors are four daughters Mrs. Elizabeth Leonard of town of Rhine, Mrs. Edward Brieger of Kiel, Mrs. Leonard Platz, of town of Rhine, Mrs. Raymond Faust of Kiel, one son, George on the homestead in town of Rhine, three brothers John Holzmann of Kiel, and Michael and Lawrence Holzmann of town of Rhine, and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at the farm residence in town of Rhine at 9 o�clock and at 9:30 o'clock at the SS Peter and Paul Catholic church at Kiel. The Rev. Father J.J. Esdepsky will officiate and interment will be made in the Trinity Reformed cemetery, town of Rhine, beside the body of her husband.

Elkhart Lake {Special} - Mrs. Christian Schmahl, nee Elizabeth Raeder, age 76, died suddenly of a heart attack Saturday evening while attending a school play at the local high school. Mrs. Schmahl would have observed her 77th birthday Sunday, which was also the birthday of her daughter, Mrs. Alfred Roth, of Plymouth, who died yesterday. Mrs. Schmahl was born in the town of Rhine March 30, 1864, and was married to Gustave Nametz in 1880. Mr. Nametz died Sept. 27, 1892, and she was married to Christian Schmahl March 19, 1896, and moved to a farm 3 1/2 miles northeast of Elkhart Lake. Survivors are her husband and four children of her second marriage, Robert and Norman of Sheboygan, Milton, at home, and Mrs. Walter Spann of Plymouth; two children of her first marriage, Henry J. Nametz of Elkhart Lake and Mrs. William A. Long of Waukegan. Another daughter, Mrs. William Brieske, died last year. Three stepsons also survive her. They are John Schmahl of this village, William Schmahl of town Rhine and Henry Schmahl in Texas. A half-brother, George Popp, of Iowa, 33 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren are other survivors. She was a charter member of the Ladies� Aid society of the First Evangelical Reformed church of Elkhart Lake. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m.. at the Raeder Funeral home. The Rev. F.J. Lowenberg will officiate and burial will be in Elkhart Lake cemetery. Friends may view the body at the funeral home from Wednesday until time of services.

Elkhart Lake, Wis. - Funeral service for Mrs. Christian Schmahl were held at 2 p.m. last Thursday at the Raeder Funeral Home in this village, the Rev. F.J. Lowenbergh, pastor of the First Evangelical and Reformed church, officiating. The senior Ladies� Aid of which the deceased was a member, attended the services in a body and sang �Wo findet die Seele die Heimat die Ruh� Mrs. Owen Rowland and Miss Dorothy Raeder sang �Saved by Grace� and �Whispering Hope.� Mrs. Rowland was organ accompanist, and also played �Communion� and �Medley of Sacred Hymns.� Interment was in the Elkhart Lake cemetery. Pallbearers were Elmer Brieske, Wilbur Long, Everett Nametz, Alvin Schmahl, Leonard Schmall and Miles Spann. Those from out of town who attended the services included Mr. and Mrs. William Long and Mr. Wentworth of Waukegan, Ill; Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Long, Mrs. Fred Koerner, sr., Mrs. Fred Koerner, jr., and Mrs. Al Nelson of Chicago; Mrs. Louis Davis and Arthur Davis of Chilton; Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Jacobi of Fond du Lac; Mrs. Katherine Burts and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Eberbeck of Van Dyne; Mrs. Leo Doolan of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Schmahl, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schmahl and Leroy Schmahl of Sheboygan; Al and Melvin Roth, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Spann and family of Plymouth; Mrs. John Laubenstein and Mrs. Walter Phipps of Greenbush, and many others from this vicinity.

Christian Schmahl, 95, pioneer resident of the town of Rhine, passed away Wednesday at St. Nicholas hospital. He had been in good health up until March 12 when he broke his hip in a fall. Born in the town of Rhine on May 7, 1855, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Schmahl, he was married to Catherine Breckheimer. After her death he was married to Elizabeth Raeder on March 19, 1896, and they resided on a farm three and one-half miles northeast of Elkhart Lake. A son, Milton, now operates the farm and Mr. Schmahl made his home with him. The deceased was a long time member of the Modern Woodmen of America. Survivors are five sons and one daughter, William, of the town of Rhine, Henry in Texas, Milton on the homestead, Robert and Norman of Sheboygan, and Mrs. Walter {Nora} Spann of the town of Plymouth; two stepchildren, Henry Nametz of Elkhart Lake, and Mrs. William Long of Chicago; a half-brother, Fritz Schmahl, of Kiel; 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. His wife passed away March 29, 1941, and two sons, two stepchildren, three brothers, two sisters, one half-brother and one half-sister also preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Raeder Funeral home in Elkhart Lake and at 2 o�clock at the Community Evangelical and Reformed church with the Rev. Paul A. Olm officiating. Burial will be made in the Elkhart Lake cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning Friday noon.

Funeral services for Christian Schmahl, who passed away last Wednesday, were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Raeder Funeral home, Elkhart Lake, and at 2 p.m.. at the Community Evangelical and Reformed church in that village. The Rev. Paul A. Olm officiated, and the Rev. Carl Schmahl, a nephew of the deceased, delivered a short sermon. Burial was made in the Elkhart Lake cemetery. During the services Mrs. Roland Gosse and Mrs. Owen Rolwands sang �Wo findet die Seele die Heimat, die Ruh� and �There Is a Home Eternal�. Mrs. Rowlands played the organ accompaniment. Pallbearers were Wilbur Long, Gustav Nametz, Alvin, Leonard, Lloyd and Kenneth Schmahl. Among those attending the services were: Mrs. William Long, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Long and family, and Mrs. Fred Koerner, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Doolan and family, Milwaukee; and others form Chilton, Sheboygan, Kiel, Plymouth and surrounding communities.

Frederick Schmahl, 84, of 1047 7th St., Kiel, a retired carpenter, died at his home Friday afternoon. He was born April 23, 1872, in the town of Rhine, the son of the late John and Justina Reineck Schmahl, and attended the district school in the township. On June 15, 1929, he married the former Rosa Krauss in the town of Rhine and the couple located in Kiel. His wife is the only survivor. He was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel. The Rev. Carl Schmahl, a nephew, and pastor of St. James Evangelical and Reformed Church in the town of Meeme, will officiate and burial will be in Elkhart Lake Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 p.m. Monday until the services.

Funeral Services for Frederick Schmahl, 84, who resided at 1047 Seventh St., Kiel and died on Friday afternoon, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home. The Rev. Carl Schmahl, nephew of the deceased, and pastor of St. James Ev. and Ref. Church in town of Meeme officiated. During the service Mrs. E.M. Thieleke sang �Sweet Bye and Bye� and �God Be With You Till We Meet Again.� Elkhart Lake Cemetery was the place of interment. Pallbearers were John Leonard, Ben and Clarence Manz, Christ, Frederick and Milton Schmahl.

Mrs. Rosa Schmahl, 70, of 1047 7th St., Kiel, widow of Frederick, died Sunday morning at St. Nicholas hospital. She had been a patient one day. The former Rosa Krauss, she was born in the Town of Rhine, Sept. 18, 1882, a daughter of the late Alfred and Marie Krauss. Her marriage to Mr. Schmahl, also of Rhine, took place June 15, 1929. The couple located in Kiel where the husband worked as a carpenter. He died in September, 1956. Only survivors are a niece and nephew. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home in Kiel with the Rev. Vernon E. Jaberg , pastor of St. Peter�s United Church of Christ, Kiel, officiating. Burial will be in Elkhart Lake Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa Schmahl, 79, of Kiel, who died Sunday, will be held at 2 p.m.. Wednesday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home in Kiel. One sister, Mrs. Ida Mayer of Sheboygan, is a survivor. Another sister, Miss Ottilie Krauss, preceded Mrs. Schmahl in death.

Mrs. Elizabeth Schmahl, 89, a long time resident of Elkhart Lake, died early this morning at St. Nicholas Hospital where she had been a patient since Thursday. Born in the town of Rhine on Sept. 10, 1867, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Kasper, she was married to William Schmahl on Feb. 5, 1891. The couple made their home in Elkhart Lake where they operated a shoe store until 1940 when Mr. Schmahl died. Survivors are a daughter, Anita at home, and a sister, Mrs. Lena Suhr of Marinette. She was preceded in death by several children who died in infancy. A son, Otto, died in 1906 and another son, William, died in 1926. She was also preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Raeder Funeral Home, Elkhart Lake. The Rev. Paul A. Olm, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Elkhart Lake Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral home from Thursday noon until the services.

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Schmahl of Elkhart Lake, who passed away Tuesday, were held Friday afternoon at 2 o�clock at the Raeder Funeral Home, with Rev. Paul A. Olm, pastor of the Community Evangelical and Reformed Church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Carl Schmahl, a relative of the deceased. Mrs. Roland Gosse and Mrs. Owen Rowlands sang �No Night There� and �Asleep in Jesus,� accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Rowlands. Burial took place at the Elkhart Lake Cemetery, and the pallbearers were Leo Breckheimer, John N. Heinrichs, J.K. Johnson, Alfred Matthias, Charles Pfrang and Ben Schwartz.

On Monday evening, Henry Schmahl, age 54, a well known resident of the Town Rhine, died from cerebral apoplexy at the home of his son-in- law, Fred Manz. He leaves his wife {nee: Reineck} and many children. Louis Laun from Elkhart Lake will be handling the burial. The body will be shown at his home beginning on Thursday. The day of burial has yet to be announced.

Mr. Heinrich Schmahl, age 54 years, a well-known resident of Town Rhine, died on Monday evening at the house of his brother-in-law Fred. Manz, where he was affected on Thanksgiving Day by a stroke. He is survived by his wife, nee Reineck, and several children. Mr. Louis Laun of Elkhart Lake, which is taking care of the funeral, transferred the body on Tuesday to the home. We have not learned the date of the funeral.

Elkhart Lake - Mrs. Augusta Schmahl, 77, passed away late Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs. August Butz, one mile north of Howards Grove, following a lingering illness. The deceased, nee: Augusta Stowater, was born in Germany on May 8, 1867, and came to Town Rhine several years later. Following her marriage to John Schmahl; the couple lived for many years on a farm on Highway 67, three miles north of Elkhart Lake. Since the death of her husband in February 1935, she has been residing in this village and at the home of Mrs. August Butz. There are no immediate survivors. Funeral services will be held at 1:45 p.m. Thursday at the Raeder Funeral home here and at 2 p.m. at the Community Evangelical and Reformed church. The Rev. Carl Schmahl, a nephew of the deceased, will officiate and burial will be made in the Reformed cemetery, Town Rhine. The body will lie in state at the funeral home from 3 p.m. Wednesday until the time of services. The casket will not be opened at the church.

Death in Antigo on Fri. of Mr. W. Springborn, a well-known tavern keeper in that city.

The deceased, who died of the flu, was brought to Sheboygan for burial.

Death of Little Carl Sinner. Carl Elnathan Henry, the two year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sinner, 2418 south eighth street, died yesterday noon at St. Nicholas hospital of Bright�s disease and dropsy. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o�clock from the home. The Rev. R.K. Manaton will officiate.

Longtime Vashon Islander W.E. �Gene� Sinner died June 14, 2005, at the Vashon Community Care Center. He was 86 years old. Mr. Sinner was born in 1918 in Sheboygan, Wis., to Charles and Elizabeth Sinner. In 1941 he graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a master�s degree in physics. In 1943 he married Margaret Parish. During World War II they lived in Washington, D.C. He served as Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy. In 1959 the Sinners moved to Vashon, and he worked for the Boeing Company, where he enjoyed a 25-year career as an aerospace engineer. An avid handyman and outdoorsman, he shared many hunting and fishing adventures with his family and also a great love of music. The Sinner family often sang and played music together, with Gene in the lead as an accomplished pianist and tenor.

His wife Margaret and his daughter Susan died earlier. Survivors include his son Loren Sinner and grandsons Spencer and Alex Sinner of Vashon, grandson Logan Sinner of Longmont, Colo., as well as granddaughters Sheridan Brigner, Morgan Herminette and grandson Christopher Herminette of Alaska. Mr. Sinner wished to thank Joan Caron for all the loving care she gave him in his later years. At his request, there will be no service. Donations in his memory are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

John Baier Sinner, 88-year-old president of Sinner Brothers Inc. Mausoleum Hardware, died Wednesday in a local hospital. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. today in Cypress View Mortuary. He is survived by his wife, Reba, a daughter, Mrs. Evangeline Rickards of San Diego, and one grandchild.

Elsa Sinner, the youngest daughter of Mr. Fritz Sinner, passed away on July 22. She was two months and 17 days old. She was buried on July 24, Pastor Wolbrecht presiding.

George Eddie, the youngest son of Mr. Fritz Sinner, died on October 15 from convulsions. He was seven days old and was buried on the 16th, Pastor Musch presiding.

Charles Sinner, 52 years old, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at his home, 812 Humboldt avenue, after a lingering illness. He was born on July 18, 1882, in the village of Ada, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sinner {Henry August & Wilhelmina {Gabsch} Sinner}. Except for a few years, he lived most of his life in Sheboygan county. On November 10, 1910, he was married to Elizabeth Fausch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Fausch. He was a member of Sheboygan Lodge No. 13, I.O.O.F. Survivors are the widow, two children, Miss Victoria and Eugene, at home; a brother, Peter of Sheboygan, three sisters, Mrs. Charles Pestien of this city, Mrs. Louise Mueller of Marshfield, Wis., and Mrs. Mary Morrien of Underhill, Wis.; four half-brothers who reside in California, and a half-sister who resides in Omaha, Neb. A son, Elnathan, preceded him in death on October 26, 1913. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. at the Ballhorn Funeral Temple, the Rev. Leroy White, pastor of the First Methodist church of this city officiating. Interment will be in Wildwood cemetery.

Memorial services for Beth Sinner will be held Saturday, Aug. 30 in the Chapel of Island Funeral Service, Vashon. Born Elizabeth Fausch, Sept. 29, 1886, in Wisconsin, she was married to Charles A. Sinner in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Nov. 10, 1910. They made their home in Sheboygan, Wis. Charles preceded her in death Oct. 18, 1934. Beth Sinner has lived on Vashon Island since 1966. Beth was very active in religious circles in early life. She played the coronet in several bands including the Salvation Army Band. She was a member of the Vashon United Methodist Church. Beth was a young friend of Carrie A. Nation, the saloon wrecker. She bailed Carrie out of jail after some of her escapades. Beth Sinner is survived by a daughter, Vici Sinner Gibson of Delavan, Wis.; one son, Gene of Vashon; one sister, Elsie Bradley of Sheboygan, Wis.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Louis Scheller, 78, a former Town of McMillan resident, died Wednesday morning at Bethel Convalescent Home. He and Mrs. Scheller made their home there the past year and a half. Death was attributed to pneumonia.

Funeral Services will be held at 2pm Friday in the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Elder Clifford BEE will officiate and burial will be made in Hillside Cemetary. The body is reposing at the Hansen Funeral Home. At noon Friday it will be taken to the church.

Mr. Scheller was born July 20, 1884 in Germany. He received his education in Germany. He came to Sheboygan from Germany at the age of 16.

His marriage to Lena Heiman took place in Sheboygan, Aug. 26, 1899. Five years after their marriage they moved to this vicinity, locating on a farm in the Town of McMillan.

He is survived by two sons, Harry, Prentice and Arthur, Marshfield; a daughter Josie Scheller, Sheboygan; and five grandchildren.

Three brothers preceded him in death.

Ernest F. Schroeder, 82, of 816 Logan Ave., Spanish-American War veteran and well known in military organizations here, died Saturday afternoon at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Apfelstead, Gran Duchy of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha in Germany on March 9, 1876, the son of August and Mathilda Schroeder. He came to American with his parents in 1884, direct to Sheboygan, where he always made his home.

In April of 1900 he was married to Augusta Kulpinski by the late Rev. William Vollbrecht, and she passed away on Feb. 28, 1947.

Survivors are four sons, Edgar of Charleston, W. Va., Harold, Frank and Theodor of Sheboygan, a sister, Mrs. Jennie Burhart of Dubuque, Iowa; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

After leaving school Mr. Schroeder learned the carpenter's trade and followed this until 1900 when he entered the U.S. Postal Service. He remained at the Sheboygan Post Office until 1948 when he retired as foreman and assistant superintendent of mails.

He was a member of Co. C, 2nd Regt. Wisconsin National Guard, for many years, serving as a corporal in the Spanish-American War in Puerto Rico in 1898. He served two terms as president of the United Military Association, four terms as patriotic instructor of the United Spanish War Veterans, and two terms as commander of Doege-Trier Camp No. 12 Spanish-American War Veterans.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Kroos-Horn Funeral Home. Christian Science services will be held with Reader LeRoy Metscher in charge. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, and military rites will be held at the grave.

Friends may call at the funeral home until the time of the services.

Members of Wolf-Olson Post 1230, VFW, are requested to meet at the funeral home this evening at 7 o'clock to hold memorial services.

Miss Millie Smith, 88, of 704 Pennsylvania Ave., died at Memorial Hospital shortly before noon Thursday following a long illness.

Miss Smith was born in Fond du Lac, April 30, 1865, a daughter of the late Charles and Wilhelmina Smith. She came to Sheboygan with her parents in 1866 where she attended public schools.

For 20 years she was engaged as a fitter of women's wearing apparel at the H. C. Prange Co., and in later years at the former Sells Department Store, retiring at the age of 57 due to failing eyesight.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Sheboygan and a past noble grand of the Robert Blow Rebekah Lodge No. 138, and an honorary member of the Past Noble Grand Club.

She is survived by one sister, Miss Eleanor Smith, of Sheboygan, and one brother, Arthur, of Milwaukee, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were five brothers and one sister, the late Mrs. C. M. Vanderyacht, of this city.

Services will be held at the Robert H. Kroos Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Wilford H. Evans, pastor of the First Congregational Church, officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home this evening and until the time of services Saturday afternoon.

Members of the Robert Blow Rebekah Lodge No. 138 will meet at 7:15 this evening at the funeral home to conduct services for their departed sister, Miss Smith.
