Francis and Maria CHAPMAN
(née Wilkinson)
Francis CHAPMAN *may* have been the son of Francis & Frances CHAPMAN. I have yet to find his baptism and burial.
There are CHAPMANs in several of the villages in the Downham Market area, including Wereham, West Dereham and Outwell. I am currently exploring the registers of these villages.
Susan Maria WILKINSON was baptised on 26 Oct 1808 at Stow Bardolph.[as Susanna, base born daughter of Sarah WILKINS].
She used different forms of first name, she was Susan Maria at her first marriage, and Anna Maria at her second.
She died in Jun qtr 1880 aged 72.
They were married in Stow Bardolph, Norfolk
on 27th November 1825
by Henry Creed.
Witness was Robert Batterham.
Their children (found so far) were:
Stephen bp.10 May 1828 -twin. Buried 27 July 1828 aged 3 months. bp. 19 July 1829. Married Ellen BONUS. My 2x gt g'parents.
Francis died before 1841 as he doesn't appear on the census.(possibly as early as 1830?).
Maria married William WHITEMAN in the Dec qtr 1844.
Their son John was born on 13 Mar 1845
On the 1851 census, Maria and William were living in Wimbotsham with William.
John. Maria and William were living in Stow Bardolph in 1861 and 1871.
