S. John (which seems to be what he went by) was a man of fairly high standing in the community. He was listed as Churchwarden 1796-1833, Surveyor of highways and interior drainage (paid for service), and overseer for Poors land. NB. Recently found living in Islington in 1841 and Hackney in 1851, [thanks to cousin Steve.] He died in Hackney in Sep qtr 1853, at the grand age of 88. |
Have yet to find her death date, but now know it to be before 1841. |
