My connection with this village is through my gt g'father Charles BRUCE who was born in the village, and baptised in the parish church on 22 Oct 1847, he lived here with his first wife Ann (née HAMMOND) from Castle Rising. They had 12 children, 10 of whom were born in Wereham. Ann died in 1891 and was buried in the village. Several other branches of the BRUCE family also lived and died here.
