Catharine & Daniel are my great great grandparents. Six of their seven children were born here & christened in the Galston Parish Church. The family (except son Thomas) immigrated to Canada in the middle to late 1850's and then on to Michigan.
There is a Loudoun family tombstone in Galston Cemetery with the inscription:
Erected by John Loudon, in memory of
his father William Loudon, late farmer, Bank, died 20 February 1836, age 71y,
mother Janet Pollock died 20 December 1837 age 66y,
brother James Loudon died 28 April 1844 age 44y,
brother Andrew Loudon died 31 March 1845 age 48y,
sister Catherine Loudon died 6 December 1865 age 61y,
sister Grace Loudon died 28 February 1866 age 63y,
the above John Loudon died 17 March 1867 age 76y,
sister Agnes Loudon died 28 March 1869 age 79y.
Catherine is commemorated on the tombstone. However, I think the death date of Dec. 6, 1865 is wrong; I believe she died earlier in Lapeer County, Michigan.
