Samuel and Rebecca married and bought land on Oyster River in western New Haven, which later became West Haven, where they lived out their lives. In 1706 Samuel was appointed ensign of the West Haven trainband.
He was not the son of Lieut. Samuel, even though his marriage record calls him "Jr."
