Notes:

Francis and Elizabeth settled in New Haven, CT in early 1640, along with two Whitehead boys that had traveled with them from England. By 1643, there were three persons in the family and their home was worth ten pounds.
They moved to Stratford in 1648 and Fairfield in 1654.

Elizabeth owned property in England, and Francis sold it and gave her a written agreement in 1664 stating that he would reimburse her. She died the following year, and Francis married widow Dorothy Smith Blakeman. He was back in Stratford by 1669 when he was constable.

According to the General Court in May of 1686, Francis complained about "abuses he receives by his son, and especially his impounding of his cattle off of his own land &c., putting him to great trouble and vexation of spirit, after some lawsuits and arbitrations about it &c., the Court do hereby order that the constable of Fayrefield do forthwith repair to Isaac Hall, the son of said Francis Hall, and inform him that this Court do advise him that he leave off the impounding of his father's and brother's cattle off of their land, which is said lawfully to be in their possession.."

In 1687 son Isaac tried to prohibit his father from selling his property in Fairfield, claiming it was for the children of his mother.
