Silversmith

  Events in his life were:

  • He worked from 1755 to 1770 as a silversmith in East Greenwich RI from the rear of his house at the corner of Pierce and Division Streets. He also had a reputation as a knife and bayonet maker. When drafted to serve in guard at Warwick, a general petition was raised asking that he be excused to continue his work making "these important articles of warfare." The petition was accepted and he returned to his work until the outbreak of fighting when he was appointed captain in Rhode Island Militia. 3

Nathan married Rhobe Salsbury on 3 May 1750-1751 in Swansea MA. (Rhobe Salsbury was born on 17 Jul 1732 in Swansea MA and died on 11 Jul 1826 in Warwick RI.)
