• Apprenticed on 10 Jun 1805 to Freeman Woods in New Bern NC ¹⁵
  

• He worked from 1812 to 1819 as a silversmith in New Bern NC eventually selling out to his former apprentice John Gill, who announced the fact in the Carolina Centinel on 10 April 1819. ¹⁵

• Advertised in the Carolina Federal Republican, 25 Apr 1812, announcing that he had opened a shop on Middle Street in New Bern, where he intended carrying on the goldsmith and silver smith business in all its various branches. ¹⁵

• Master to John Gill 15 Mar 1814 in New Bern NC. ¹⁵

• Master to Samuel Fisher 15 Mar 1814 in New Bern NC. ¹⁵
