The original prints of the following
five images are currently in the
possession of Mary Naomi Meany (Sister William Marion Meany). She got them from
Aunt Bessie (Annie Bessie Masterson, daughter of Michael Masterson and Mary
Alice Clark, b. 1893, d. 1986). I have provided the original "tif"
file to ensure the best quality available. However, that makes the file size
rather large.
Benedict Joseph Clark, circa 1850
This is a very scratched up tintype. I believe Dad had someone try to
restore it, but as you can see, it wasn't very successful. This file size
is about 1.2M.
The print size is 3 x 4.
Mary Ann Greenwell, wife of Benedict Joseph Clark, circa 1850
This is another tintype, very scratched. The file size is about 1.3M.
The print size is 3 x 4.
Mary Ann Greenwell, wife of Benedict Joseph Clark, circa 1880
This tintype is in much better condition than the other two. The file size
is about 1.2M. The print size is 3 x 4.
The next two pictures were scanned in
the frames and through the glass. The glass was convex, which made it hard to
do. The reason Dad didn't take them out was because the backing was glued on and
the pictures had actually formed a convex shape to the glass. He was afraid of
ruining the pictures, and he had promised Mary Naomi that he would not harm them
in any way.
Mary Alice Clark, daughter of Benedict Joseph Clark and Mary Ann
Greenwell, wife of Michael H. Spaulding Masterson, 1860-1957
This file size is about 1.1M. The print size is 2 x 3.
Michael H. Spaulding Masterson, 1858-1899
This appears to be a charcoal or pencil sketch. The file size is about 1.2M.
The print size is 3 x 4.
Joseph Kennedy Masterson in the United States Army.
Fought during World War I in France and Germany from 24 June 1918 to 21 May
1919. The file size is about 1.6M. The print size is 5 x 7.
Joseph Kennedy Masterson and Mary Ethel Peake, 1921.
This was their engagement picture. The file size is about 900K. The print size
is 5 x 7.
