Welcome to the Monday Morning Mariners' Meeting NewsBrief - Balmy Breezers. This is the second attempt in publishing a small newsletter for the group, the first being only in printed form, and distributed at the meeting. Needless to say, it was not long lived, interest dwindling after a couple of months.
Now, in the interest of soley the publisher, and for his entertainment only, this online version is established. If you find it interesting, that's well, and good. If you want to contribute, that's better yet...you can join me in this exclusive endeavour. You may email me at [email protected] any time. Photographs, and graphics are also welcome.
Be advised that this "news"letter is a fun thing, and circles around this small group, many of whom are former seaman, retired from the Military Sealift Command. Strangely enough though, our most avid participants/readers are outside this group. So...jump in, and add some color to the charade.
I will endeavour to update this index as later editions are published, but things like this for the new reader should be reviewed from the begining. If you are a regular reader, click on the highest number below to get the latest, or near latest NewsBrief. There are navigation bars at the bottom of each page, so... you can click "ahead" to catch up. If you see "Top" by an "Ahead" button, it means it's the latest.

The Monday Morning Mariners' Meeting

The MMMM meets at 1130 every monday in the Captains Grill at the Holiday Inn in Cocoa Beach Florida, and is open to all - mariner or not. All are welcome who have a need for telling sea-stories, good company, and good food. There are no formalities, nor membership requirements. Take nothing seriously, nor believe anything you hear. Seating is by tenure, especially the chair nearest the bulkhead facing inboard. The meeting adjourns around 1300 for no reason whatsoever.
Your newsletter, Balmy Breezers, is published by, and for members of the MMMM on a weakly basis. This publication exists to inform, and entertain those interested in keeping abreast of the latest scuttlebutt.
Articles contained herein may be reprinted by other publications provided definitive written credit is given.
The mail address is as shown in the masthead. Delivery is by Internet shortly after each meeting.
Members are urged to submit material to the editor for inclusion in this newsletter, otherwise it will fizzle out toot-sweet.

Former R/O Balks

Bill V. - retired MSC Radio Officer went into shock when asked to submit this weeks MMMM report. With an emphatic "No, no", and violent head shaking, Bill made a quick exit to the door as the group was adjourning. No one has heard from him since. Anyone with information as to his whereabouts or condition are urged to contact us immediately!

Retired Purser Joins Group Second Time Running

Bobbi

Bobbi M. joined in with the festivities for the second week in a row. Bobbi says she intends to be a regular. That was good news to everyone, as it's nice to have a new face in the crowd. Though she has glommed the chair Captain Ed uses for a leg rest, Ed made no fuss over the matter, gladly having a lady sit next to him.

Dear Carlos

Letters to the Editor

Dick, our esteemed photographer, reports his complete dis-enchantment with Hotmail. It seems it doesn't like him anymore.
Now that NetZero is performing well once again, he is trying to exorcise Hotmail from his computer. Rots o' ruck Dick.
Gary - techno-peasant extraordinaire, says he still hasn't figured out how to send email. Give it time Gary...you've only be at it a year.
Gene - master of hardware, now has so many home-brew computers he's lost count, but knows which ones work for different email formats. He also admitted that he seldom pages down all the way, missing important elements in a message.
Ed - Captain Ed to you, has offered his professional services to any, and all having computer problems. He still insists he's getting better looking every day.
Catch you all next week.
Carlos

ALmost Forgot Section

Earl - our authority on government, armourments, fire-arms, and all things that float, roll, or fly, wasn't with us this week, having orthodontistry. We can't wait until he gets his new choppers. Dick, get that camera ready.

State Visit

We are all looking forward to Stanley's visit to our area on 29 November. Hopefully, Stanley can join us at the MMMM. This will be a great opportunity for Dick, and Gene to grab a decent photo of Stan, as the one received from him a while back just didn't seem to cut it.
