William E. Benner Jr., 78, of 1st Avenue, Richlandtown, died Thursday in his home. He was the husband of Helen L. (Heller) Benner. They were married 55 years in July.
He was a shipper at the former W.R. Grace Co., Quakertown, for 42 years until retiring in 1983.
Born in Richlandtown, he was a son of the late William E. and Gertrude (Kramer) Benner.
He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Richlandtown, where he was Sunday School secretary for over 60 years and custodian for the past 20 years.
He was treasurer of the Richlandtown Fire Company 50/50 Club and recently was honored for 50 years of service. He also was treasurer of the Richlandtown Playground Association.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a Purple Heart recipient.
Survivors: Wife; son, Larry C. of Richlandtown; brothers, Robert of Richlandtown, and Chester and Carroll, both of Quakertown, and a sister, Marion Fluck of Pleasant Valley.

Mamie B. Moyer, 84, of Quakertown, died peacefully on July 22, 2009 in Quakertown Center Genesis Health Care, with family by her side. She was the loving wife of 50 years to Raymond L. Moyer, who died in 1994. Born in Richlandtown, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Pearl (Fosbenner) Schaffer. After her schooling, Mamie worked as a seamstress at the former Waxmans Shirt Factory, Quakertown. When her husband, Raymond, returned from the Army from his tour of duty in Germany during World War II, she and Raymond offered their home, love and care to foster children for nearly 50 years. In addition, Mamie ran an in-home child care service for close to 15 years. Then Mamie worked in the maintenance department of Zohlmans Nursing Home, now Phoebe Home, for several years prior to her retirement. Mamies passions were country music, crocheting, and playing card games, her favorite being Skippo. More than anything, Mamies ultimate love in life was her entire family with whom she shared many good times and much laughter. To know Mamie was to know laughter and smiles. She had the gift of helping people to smile with her infectious laugh. Mamie was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Richlandtown.
Survivors: She is survived by daughter, Bonnie Lee Christ and her husband, Dana, of Quakertown; son, Louis F. Paxson of Telford; three grandchildren, Rebecca Lee Friel and her husband, David, Brenda Elizabeth DiDonato and her husband, Peter, and Anthony Michael Tucci-Paxson; two great-grandchildren, Alec David Friel and Kyle William Friel; three sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; two nephews, Barry Johnson and his wife, Shirley, Leonard Johnson and his wife, Dot; niece, April Sherry and her husband, Rob; many other nieces, nephews, great-nephews, great-nieces, great-great-nieces. She was predeceased by a son, Richard Reinert, in 2000, a sister, Margaret E. Johnson, in 1997, a brother, Paul Schaffer, and a nephew, Randy Johnson, in 2008.

Robert C. Fox, 75, of Quakertown died Monday, Feb. 17, in St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital. He was the husband of Marian (Moyer) Fox. They were married 50 years in October.
He was a presser for the former H&F Sportswear, Perkasie, before retiring in 1983.
Born in Pennsburg, he was a son of the late James and Carrie (Matthews) Fox.
He was a member of Christ UCC, Trumbauersville.
Fox was a former fire policeman with the Trumbauersville Fire Company.

After graduating from Quakertown High School in 1955, he worked for Bracalentes Manufacturing Company, Trumbauersville, for more than 50 years. Many know Dick from his years involved in the Trumbauersville Lions, Quakertown Jaycees, Quakertown Moose Lodge 1622, Upper Bucks Softball League, Great Swamp Fish & Game, Clover Leaf Archery, Workout Plus and as an avid Quakertown High School sports fan. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, golf, bowling, archery, softball, family vacations and watching sports. Survivors: He is survived by his three children, Wendy Hafler and her husband, Steve, of Coopersburg, Tim Moyer and his wife, Sue, of Coopersburg and Jennifer Adams and her husband, Wellington, of Wilmington, N.C.; his three granddaughters, Krista Hafler and Samantha and Alyson Moyer; his sisters, Betty Rodenberger, Marion Fox and Mary Jane Foulke; his brother, William Moyer.
