Nils "Ben" J. Benson, 63, of North Goodrich Drive, Deltona, Fla., died Friday, April 21, in his home. He retired as a patrolman for the state of New Jersey after 16 years. Born in Wilson Borough, he was a son of Carolyn Stanton of Phillipsburg. He moved to Florida from Trenton in 1983. He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Enterprise, Fla. He was a Navy veteran and received the Good Conduct Medal. He was a 1954 graduate of Phillipsburg High School. He was a member of the Cursillo Community, the Masonic Lodge, Chapter 52 in Phillipsburg, a life member of the New Jersey Police Benevolent Association and past president of the Police Benevolent Association, Local 91, New Jersey Highway Patrol. He and his wife, Patricia L., were married 40 years. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, James R. of Khazakstan; a daughter, Michele L. Culver of Deltona; a sister, Carol Toth of Langhorne, Pa.; and two granddaughters. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church in Enterprise. Call 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Baldauff Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 1233 Saxon Blvd., Deltona. Brown Lodge, was an avid NFL Football fan, and enjoyed hunting. Charles is survived by Carol Toth, his beloved wife of 48 years; as well as his devoted children, Christi Pursell and her husband Thomas Dascher, Charles E. He then worked five years as an apprentice/machinist at Bethlehem Steel until drafted into the U S Navy. Following Honorable Discharge, he moved to Durham, NC, and was employed by Roadway Express as chief dispatcher and office manager.He married Ruth Raeburn Gehret on May 2, 1947 and had 62 yearstogether.He obeyed the Lords call to enter the Ministry and graduated from Philadelphia Biblical University. Rev. Seifert served churches in Philadelphia, Harrisburg, Hatfield, Allentown, Stroudsburg and was the founding pastor of the Pocono Bible Fellowship Church. He negotiated with the Crawford Family for the purchase of the Pinebrook Bible Conference, Stroudsburg and served six years as director. After leaving Pinebrook, he and his wife owned and operated Buena Vista Retreat and Conference Center, Newfoundland, PA for 15 years and then retired to Shangri La Newfoundland, PA. Ruth Raeburn Seifert, 90, of Newfoundland, Pa., passed away peacefully Saturday evening in her home. She was the wife of Arlington Seifert to whom she was married since May 2, 1947. born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Myron and Lizzie (Kaufman) Gehret. She resided in Newfoundland for 25 years and prior to that in Bethlehem. Ruth was a graduate of Liberty High School and Bethlehem Business College. She worked for Prudential Insurance Co. for 10 years and then followed her husband as he served many pastorates in the Bible Fellowship Church. Ash also assisted her husband in the running of Christian Retreat and Conference Center, Buena Vista, Newfoundland. Ruth was a member of the Pocono Mountain Bible Fellowship Church. She was a woman of faith and spoke to God each day. Her Christian example will remain as an inspiration to all of us. her joy was in serving Jesus and she was a deeply devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors: In addition to her husband, A.L., she will be lovingly remembered by her son, Dale and Janet Seifer of Newfoundland; daughter, Darlene and Tim Salsbery of Sharpsville, Indiana; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Deppe of Montgomery, Md. Born in Fountain Hill on September 24, 1955 to Doris P. (Moyer) with whom he resided and the late Delbert L. Seifert. He graduated from Palisades High School. He attended Clarion State University for five semesters and Moravian College for one semester. He worked in sales at Hesss and Johnsons Shoe Stores before entering the service. A career Petty Officer First Class for the US Navy stationed in Groton, CT after 21 years of service. Survivors: In addition to his loving mother; brothers, Philip J. and his wife Joan in Timberlake, NC, Steven E., Sr. and his wife Donna of Quakertown; two nieces and two nephews. Services: Family and friends are invited to call 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 326 Main St., Hellertown.
