Mrs. Margaret T. Hagenbuch, 68, of 35 Woodshire Drive, Williams Township, died Tuesday in Easton Hospital after being stricken at home. She was the widow of Harold F. Hagenbuch.

She was a cook at the Williams Township Elementary School for more than 15 years before retiring in 1975.

Born in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Endress) Taylor.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Williams Township.

Surviving are a son, Barry J., with whom she resided; a daughter, Judy Taylor of Pasadena, Calif.; a sister, Lois Helm of Williams Township; two brothers, Frederick of Phillipsburg and Richard of Nazareth; three grandchildren, including Mark DiGiacomo of Pasadena, whom she helped raise. A son, Dale Richard, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the church. Calling hours will be 7-9 p.m. Friday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Berwick and Reynolds streets, Easton.

Carl A. Nicholas Sr., 79, of Williams Township, died Jan. 17 in Easton Hospital. He was married to Marjorie R. (Danner) Nicholas for 58 years last April.
A member of International Papermakers Union Local 720, he was a machine operator in the coating department of Riegel Paper Corp., Milford, N.J., for 30 years before retiring in 1986 and a member of the Quarter Century Club.
Born in Durham, he was a son of the late S. Lynford and Florence (Steeley) Nicholas.
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Riegelsville, and the Durham Cemetery board.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was a life member of Raubsville Sportsman's Association and a member of Williams Township Fire Company.
Survivors: Wife; sons, Carl II and Kevin J., both of Williams Township; brothers, Merle D. of Williams Township, Lee E. of Forks Township; four grandsons, a great-grandson.
Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Robert W. Snyder Funeral Home, 327 Easton Road, Riegelsville. Call 10-11 a.m. Tuesday.

Janet R. Layton passed away Saturday morning, March 22, 2008 at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan at the age of 85. The first child of Carl Edward and Ora Mary (College) Robinson, Janet Blanche Robinson was born September 10, 1922 in Greencastle, Pennsylvania. She was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities, including 14 years as a worker in the Washington, D.C. temple. She attended school in Greencastle, graduating from Greencastle High School in 1940. She then worked in Washington, D.C. as a nanny for about a year, when she returned home to attend Wilson College. During her time in Washington she met Cleo Franklin Layton, and they were married May 30, 1942 in Hagerstown, Pennsylvania. She was a long-time resident of Montgomery County, Maryland. She was fun to be with and fun to laugh with, and had a perpetual smile. She especially enjoyed it when her sons would tease her and make her laugh. She loved her children and grandchildren and delighted in their accomplishments. She accepted their differences, she admired their strengths and saw so much beauty in each one of them. She always enjoyed the company of her friends and extended family. Survivors include her four children: Janet Anne (Valor) Christiansen, Dean Roger (Sandra) Layton, Randal Cleo (Marie) Layton, and Mark Franklin (Karen) Layton; 22 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Also surviving Janet are her siblings: Melvin H. (Dorothy) Robinson, Dorothy Beckham, Robert E. (Kathleen) Robinson, Susan Crunkleton, Anita Shafer, and Joseph H. (Donna) Robinson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Hilma; and two grand-daughters. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 10000 Stoneybrook Drive, Kensington, Maryland, preceded by viewing at the church from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Brown's Mill Cemetery, Kauffman Station, Pennsylvania (at approximately 2:30 p.m.). Local arrangements through Pumphrey Funeral Home in Rockville. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer's Association are suggested.

Lucille L. Fahey, 88, of Bethlehem, died on Saturday November 17, 2007 at Gracedale Nursing Center in Nazareth. She was born March 16, 1919, in Fountain Hill, the daughter of the late Cleo and Mabel (Burgstresser) Layton. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Francis J. Fahey Jr. and her grandson Matthew Fahey. She was a graduate of Moravian College, Class of 1939. Lucille retired from Lehigh Valley Railroad after 37 years of service as an executive assistant to the vice-president. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Bethlehem.
Survivors: Lucille will be lovingly remembered by her son, Michael J. Fahey and his wife Nancy of Bethlehem, and grandsons Michael and Rob.
