Mildred M. DIMMICK, 70, of S. Main Street, Richardland, died Friday in Quakertown Community Hospital. She was the wife of Claude WHITMAN and the late Herman DIMMICK. She was a cook for many years at Zohlman Nursing Home, Richardland, retiring in 1988. Born in Spring Valley, she was a daughter of the late Wallace and Jennie (SLOYER) EISENHART. Claude "Jake" WHITMAN, 81 of Richardland died Tuesday in Grand View Hospital, Sellersville. He was the husband of the late Mildred (EISENHART) WHITMAN.

He worked on a road crew for PennDOT until retiring in 1975.

Born in Bedminister Township, he was a son of the late Jacob and Alice (ZETTY) WHITMAN.

Mrs. Betty L. Sutton, 30, of Hellertown R.D. 1, died late yesterday afternoon in St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. A saughter, Debra Lynn, was born Saturday and died Sunday.

Mrs. Sutton had been ill since Thanksgiving. An autopsy was ordered.

Mrs. Sutton was the wife of Harold R. Sutton. Born in Spring Valley, she was a daughter of Wallace Eisenhart, Hellertown R.D. 1, and the late Jennie Sloyer.

She was a member of New Jerusalem Church, Leithsville, and Camp 238 Patriotic Order of America, Spring Valley.

Surviving, in addition to her husband and father, are a son, Earl, and a daughter, Sandra, both at home; four brothers, Paul and Wallace Jr., both of Hellertown; Kenneth, Hellertown R.D. 1, and John, Quakertown R.D. 4; six sisters, Mrs. Ervin Koch, Perkasie; Mrs. Lewin Schleppy, Mrs. Charles Ravier and Mrs. Paul Ravier, all of Bethlehem R.D. 4; Mrs. Mildred Dimmick, Richlandtown, and Mrs. Harold Hackman, Bethlehem.

John R. and Margaret (Sloyer) Lilly of Nazareth celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 18 in the social hall of the Episcopal Church, West Bangor. The couple, who marked their anniversary Sept. 16, were married at the Lutheran Parsonage in Bethlehem by the late Rev. Victor J. Barr. There are 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The Lillys are members of Faith United Presbyterian Church, Pen Argyl. Lilly, retired, was a sales representative for Dexter Corporation in Fairfield, Iowa. He served as a corporal in the Air Corps during World War II. Mrs. Lilly was employed as a secretary at Lafayette College and at the Department of Public Assistance, Easton.

John R. Lilly, 85, of Westminster Village, Allentown, formerly of Belfast, passed away Saturday, March 12, in Westminster Village. To become a daredevil stunt pilot. Thats what John Ralph Lilly wrote were his hopes and dreams for the future in his commencement memories as he graduated from Pen Argyl High School in 1937. Although he never received his pilots license, he became so much more, including a loving husband and father. He served his country proudly during World War II and shared his love of nature and the outdoors with all, especially his children and grandchildren. When not spending time with his family, John could always be found in his garden, hunting or fishing. Born in Moore Township on November 25, 1919, he was the son of the late John J.J. and Rosa (Correll) Lilly. Before retiring, he was employed as a sales manager for Dexter Company, Fairfield, Iowa. He was a member of Faith United Presbyterian Church, Pen Argyl, where he served as an elder. He and his wife, Margaret S. Sloyer, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in September.

Survivors: Wife; daughters, Ruth S. Dreher and her husband Robbert of Warren, Maine, Peggy A. Padgett and her husband Harold of Alexandria, Va., Linda S. Iaccio and her husband Joseph of Bangor; sons, Donald J. and his wife Judy of Ashland, Kentucky, Douglas E. and his wife Debbie Of Glenmoore; 13 grandchildren, three great- grandchildren; sisters, Miriam Lilly of Nazareth, Ida Wiersma of Wind Gap. Sisters, Ethel White and Emma Markle, and a brother, Paul, passed away earlier.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2005, Faith United Presbyterian Church, W. Pennsylvania and Heller avenues, Pen Argyl. Viewing, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Guerro & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 126 E. Pennsylvania Ave., pen Argyl, and one hour prior to the services Wednesday in the church.

Interment will be in Forks Church Cemetery, Stockertown.

He was born Oct. 22, 1920, in Plainfield Township, Penn., to the late Vernon and Laura Sloyer. He was a member of Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church and an Army veteran of World War II. He retired from General Electric Co. and the Office of PVA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Sloyer, who died Jan. 6, 2004; two brothers; and a sister.
