He worked for Dun & Bradstreet, Bethlehem, for 10 years before retiring.

Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Elmer L. and Mabel (Weiland) Shimer.

Survivors: Wife; son, Thomas E. at home; brothers, John of Cherry Hill, N.J., Arthur of Bethlehem; sister, Joyce Dieter of Bethlehem; half-brothers, Wesley Weiland and William, both of Hellertown.

Mildred "Millie" Long, 86, of Easton, formerly of Forks Township, died Wednesday, July 4, in Easton Hospital. She was the wife of Henry Long Sr., who died in 1996, and the late Louis Papp.
She retired from the former L&D, Easton, and had worked as a waitress at Forks Valley Inn.
Born in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Elroy and Laura (Miller) Hockman.
She was a member of Arndt's Lutheran Church, Forks Township, and its women's group. She was a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Easton.

Easton Express; Apr. 15, 1970 EDGAR HOCKMAN, Employee of Easton News Edgar Hockman, 68, of 1701 Northmapton St., Wilson, was stricken fatally this morning while driving along Shawnee Drive. Mr. Hockman’s son, Elmer, who was a passenger, was not injured when the car hit a house at 377 Shawnee Drive. There was no damage to the house. Mr. Hockman was delivering morning papers when he was stricken. Alfonso D. Morello, Northampton County Deputy Coroner said death was caused by an apparent heart attack. Born in Coffeetown, Pa, April 15, 1902, he was a son of the lat Simon and Margaret Dugan Hockman. He lived in Easton most of his life. He was employed by the Easton News Co. since 1946. Before that he was employed by J.T. Baker Chemical Co. 18 years. He was a member of Arndt’s Lutheran Church, Washington Camp 542, POS of A; Knights of Malta and Loyal Order of Moose, Easton. Survivors include his widow, the former Hilda Seip; four sons, Elmer, at home; Ervin, Phillipsburg, and James and Larry, both of Palmer Township; a daughter, Mrs. Lewis Greenleaf, Easton, a step-daughter, Mrs. Arthur Deck, at home; five brothers, Elvin, Easton R.D. 4; Ervin and Harold, both of Easton; Mrs. Matthew Bloss and Mrs. Vincent Bercaw, both of Phillipsburg, and 13 grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Ashton Funeral Home, Easton, Iterment will be in Arndt’s Cemetery. ******

Mrs. Anna May Hockman, 77, of Gracedale, Nazareth R.1, formerly of Lehigh Street, Easton, died Sunday in Easton Hospital. She was the widow of Harold O. Hockman.
She was a seamstress at Willshire Manufacturing Co. and Pennbrook Manufacturing, both in Easton, for many years before retiring in 1978.
Born in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Clayton and Mary (Freeh) Sloyer.
She was a past president of the PTA of the Centennial Elementary School, Easton.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Easton.
Survivors: Daughter, Margaret, wife of George Liedy of Englishtown, N.J.; sister, Marion Hockman of Saylorsburg; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Marion V. Bloss, 95, of Bethlehem, died August 16, 2008, in Country Meadows. She was a 1931 graduate of Easton High School and matriarch of the Hockman Family which recently held its 31st annual reunion. She volunteered for 3rd Street Alliance, Meals on Wheels, and March of Dimes. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Eaaston where she was baptized in 1913 and confirmed in 1928. She taught Sunday school for 45 years, sang in the choir for 35 years and was very active on various committees and was a past president of L.C.W. and the Cosmopolitan Club.
Survivors: Four grandchildren, Crystal, Tedder, Cheryl and Troy Cawley; five great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Taylor Ann, Emmett, Anna Rose, and Katie. She was predeceased by her husband Matthew W., a daughter, Carol Ann Cawley Reis and siblings, Elroy, Elvin, Edgar, Ervin, Harold, Clyde, Ken, Evelyn, Esther, and Alma.
Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday in Christ Lutheran Church, 1100 Ferry St., Easton. Call 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, in the Ashton Funeral Home, 14th and Northampton Sts., Easton.

Clyde C. Hockman, 75, of Saylorsburg R.1, formerly of Lopatcong Township, N.J., died Thursday in Easton Hospital. He was the husband of Marion A. (Sloyer) Hockman.
He was the former owner of Hockman's Meat Market, Phillipsburg, for 13 years. Before that, he was employed by R&R Provisions Co., Easton, retiring in 1976.
Born in Coffeetown, he was a son of the late Simeon and Margaret (Dugan) Hockman.
He was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wind Gap.
Hockman was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.
Survivors: Wife; son, Thomas C. Sr. of Saylorsburg; sisters, Esther Roseberry of Easton, Marion Bloss of Bethlehem Township, and Alma Bercaw of Lopatcong Township, and a granddaughter.

Born in Easton, November 29, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Mary Sophia Sloyer. Prior to retiring, for more than 30 years, Marion was employed as an Executive Secretary for Ingersoll-Rand, Phillipsburg, NJ. She was a member of St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church, Plainfield Twp., and a member of the former Trinity Lutheran Church, Wind Gap. Prior to that, she was a member of the Non Sectarian Church, Morris Park, NJ. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. She was the wife of the late Clyde C. Hockman, who died October 4, 1990. Survivors: She is survived by a son, Thomas C. Hockman and his wife Dawn of Saylorsburg; a granddaughter, Tamara Hockman Doria; four great-grandchildren, Angelica Doria, Julia Doria, Heather Markovitz and Jesse Markovitz.
