Genealogy and Family History
I’ve tried to document each item in this genealogy. There will be errors as there are errors in
original source material as well as my own mistakes. I’ve had much help from other researchers and
I hope I have helped a few across some of their barriers. If anyone finds something here that they
object to, please let me know so I can fix or remove the offending material. I would hope never to
find any of this material in a collection being sold for profit. Since, much of the information for
certain individuals is contained in compendiums that were sold for profit it would not be a good
idea to copy this stuff without permission. For much of the information that can be found in for
profit publications, I have two and sometimes more other sources for the same information. The
original information was supplied by family members anyway. If anyone finds something here of value
to them, please let me know. My email address is on the bottom of the home page.
Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness — Originally begun by two researchers who saw the need for such a service in their region. This small site grew very rapidly from just a statewide service to an international one.
COMMEMORATIVE FLAGHOLDERS and PLAQUES of various organizations. This is a pictorial collection of photographs of these markers found in U.S. cemeteries.

Sankofagen Wiki is a growing collection of genealogical and historical data pertaining to antebellum plantations, farms, factories, manors, etc. that used African slave labor.

AncientFaces — Place to store and
display ancestors’ pictures. Also offers a military section just for military
photos and a mystery photo section for unidentified photos with the hope
others can recognize them.
GenCircles — Databases submitted by Individuals This has been around only a few months. What is unique is their SmartMatching that does a detailed search on every individual in your file, and see where your individuals match up with other individuals in other people's files. Unlike the Microsoft One Great Family, you still own your data and you don’t have to pay to see the results.
Microsoft Encarta One Great Family — Databases submitted by Individuals — What a nightmare! A vast automated programme to link together as much drivel as anyone is able to type into a computer terminal, and spew it back to the unsuspecting customer... Seventy generations; if only they knew the effort it takes to be – almost – sure of one! Chris Phillips [email protected] Here is a novel business plan! You can upload your data for free. WoW! However, you must pay to see any data, including yours?
Lost Cousins — LostCousins is the ONLY family history site able to match you with others researching the same ancestors AUTOMATICALLY - ACCURATELY - CONFIDENTIALLY Just enter your ancestors and other relatives from the Canada 1881, British 1881 or US 1880 Census - then click the Search button!
Gedcom Explorer — for viewing, modifying, converting, and otherwise working with GEDCOM Files
PhpGedView — parses GEDCOM 5.5 genealogy files and displays them on the internet in formats and charts that you are familiar with. It also allows relatives to edit their genealogy online and collaborate together on their research.
High Quality Family Presentation — Family tree posters combining tree and table formats to display small to very large lineages.
Creative Imaging — No Waste Publishing: I suspect they use print–on–demand publishing where once a book is in the proper electronic format, it can be printed in a manner similiar to printing a document on the laser printer attached to your computer.
Scots Ancestry Research Society Information on the Scots Ancestry Research Society set up in 1945 by Mr. Tom Johnston, then Secretary of State for Scotland, to assist persons of Scottish descent to trace their ancestors in Scotland.

They have other offices, but this is one I know about. Call the
800 number and tell them what you want, they’ll give you the current rate of
exchange. They then set up an account for you (free service) and tell you
the amount you need to send them including a service charge. Once they
receive your money they send you the check. It’s very easy for the other
party to cash.
Reusch has raised their rates, but this company still charges $5. The number is toll–free.
