                 Notes for Doras Davis Cheshire: Remember the old song, I'm My Own Grandpa?  Well, Doras lived it. His wife, Martha Neil was the second wife to Doras' grandfather, William Hardin Cheshire. On the 1880 census, Doras has two children, and four stepsons, these 'stepsons' are also Doras' uncles!  What a complicated relationship!

I have information about Martha Neal who married William Cheser. Martha married a second time to William Cheser's grandson by his first wife's son. Apparently, oral tradition states that she had quite a bit of land and wanted to keep it in the family. the second marriage was one of economic convenience. Stephanie
