Austin O'CONNELL married Catherine FOGARTY
about 1812
in County Clare, Ireland. ~s99

Austin and Catherine had the following children :

1 M Patrick O'CONNELL  was born about 1813 in County Clare, Ireland.
Patrick married  Mary HAYES.
Patrick and Mary are my 2nd Great Grandparents.
2 M William O'CONNELL  was born about 1822 in County Clare, Ireland.
3 F Honora O'CONNELL  was born about 1830 in County Clare, Ireland.

Patrick and Mary had 4 children, John, Michael, Catherine and Mary,
all baptised in the catholic parish church in Kilfenora, County Clare, Ireland.
Patrick and Mary, with John, Michael, and Mary, all migrated in 1853, to Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

Honora migrated to Sydney in 1853 with her brother Patrick, and his family.

William also migrated to Sydney, sometime before his brother and sister.
William married  Mary BARRETT in 1850 in Sydney.

 

Notes and Assumptions about Austin and Catherine, and their family :
  • birth place and birth year based on birth of Patrick, their oldest known child
  • marriage place and marriage year also based on birth of Patrick
  • they may have married in the catholic parish church in Kilfenora, County Clare
  • four of their grandchildren were baptised in the catholic parish church in Kilfenora
  • they and their children were probably agricultural labourers around Kilfenora
  • no land / property records found for in the Tithe Allotment Books of mid 1820s / 1830 in the Kilfenora area

    Austin O'CONNELL and Catherine O'CONNELL nee FOGARTY  died in Ireland,
    probably around Kilfenora, County Clare, sometime before 1853,
    before Honora and Patrick and his family, migrated.
