Fourth Generation

Margaret Mary Francis DAVEY

Gordon John DOUGLAS  ( Tom Edgar , Robert George , Robert )
Gordon was born on Monday, 15th August 1921 in Cowandilla, South Australia.

Gordon was the oldest of  4 children , 3 boys and 1 girl for  Kathleen Mary OWENS and Tom Edgar DOUGLAS.
Kathleen was 20 aged years and Tom Edgar was aged 25 years. ~s02

Gordon has  2 younger siblings  from his father's second marriage.
Gordon's siblings are  Molly (b1925),  Bob (b1926),  Colin (b1928),  Tom and  Heather.

Gordon's parents separated in 1928, whilst the family was living in Kapunda, South Australia.
Gordon was about 7 years of age, when he was fostered by  Harry and Olive DOUGLAS, his uncle and aunt.
Gordon may have been named after Harry and Olive's only child, who died in infancy.

Gordon John DOUGLAS enlisted for military service during WW2,
in the Australian Army on Monday, 15th December 1941 at Wayville, South Australia.
Gordon was living in Broken Hill, New South Wales.  Gordon served in Darwin, Northern Territory.

Gordon was discharged on Thursday, 9th November 1944.  His Regimental Number was SX15477.
Gordon was a Lance Corporal in the Northern Australia Observation Corps.

Margaret Mary Francis DAVEY 
Margaret was born on 22nd January 1925.
Margaret was the daughter of  Len DAVEY.

Gordon John DOUGLAS died  in Mar 2000 in Adelaide, South Australia.
Gordon was buried in the military section of Enfield Cemetery.  Gordon was aged 79 years.
