subsequently, he enlisted in 8th TN CAV on 23 Feb. 1865, but on 2 May 1865 he deserted. No pension was granted;
case was rejected.

b probably 1848 rather than 1838 d after June 1892
thought to be son of William H. "Bill" Goins & Rachel Rudd from McMinn CO, TN
believed to be brother of Stephen J. Goins of same company and regiment
probably this soldier is the same person as Hugh H. Goins who m 23 Sep 1865 McMinn CO, TN TO Narcissa C. Blackwell
