Route Two Newsletter --A very sad death occurred in our midst last Monday evening, when the wife of Mr. Tom Ratledge was called away after only two days' and nights' terrible illness with lockjaw. She was taken sick Saturday evening and became unconscious Sunday morning. Dr. Kimbrough was called and her husband and kind neighbors did all in their power to relieve her pain, but all to no avail. Her maiden name was Miss Lizzie Rutledge and she was formerly married to Evan Sullivan, to which union was born three children, two of whom survive their mother. Nearly seven years ago she was married to Mr. Thomas Ratledge. To them were born 3 children, one of whom survive her. The funeral occurred at the Chestua Baptist Church on Wednesday afternoon and was conducted by Rev. W. M. Brown. We join the friends in extending much sympathy to the bereaved family. Peace to her ashes. -- Nelle Coltharp Stakely
