This photo is courtesy of friend and Cousin Joe Irons who worked for years to find it. Joe emailed this photo to me on 7 June 2010 saying, "Sandra, I have been trying to get my hands on this photo for years and finally did. This is Clem Davis, Rachel Emaline Peak and their first baby, Margaret Ann, (the one who was killed by her husband, Andrew Jackson Hunt) and James Ervin Davis. I would say it was taken sometime in 1860s."
Many, many thanks to Cousin Joe Irons for this wonderful photograph of his ancestors and other photos, too! Joe is twice a cousin to me through the Davis and again the Roberts families and a cousin to my husband through the Sutton line.
With recent developments in photo restoration, I have removed damages, deteriorations, and retouched imperfections in the original without changing its content and uploaded this enhanced photo on my website. Others should remember great-geat-great Uncle Clem, the handsome man, his gorgeous wife, and their beautiful children from Coker Creek mountains. Their overwhelming loss of beautiful daughter Margaret Ann Davis, great with child and brutally murdered at only seventeen years of age, should never be forgotten.
This site is dedicated to the memory of my mother Beulah Cline Nipper, a beautiful product of the Knobs.
