1998 World Ice Art Championship competition, Ninth place, single-block competition, abstract division, by Hong Tao and Qu Dong Qun of China. HONG TAO was born in Harbin and is a graduate of the Sculpture Department of the Luxun Academy of Fine Arts. He is a member of the Chinese Artist Association, Chinese Sculptors Institute, Liaoning Artist Association and the Chinese Ice Art Institute. He has competed in numerous stone sculpting and snow sculpting competitions and received numerous awards. QU DONG QUN was born in Shen Yang and is a graduate of the Sculpture Department of the Luxun Academy of Fine Arts. He is a member of the Chinese Artist Association, Chinese Sculptors Institute, and Liaoning Artist Association. He won a bronze medal for his sculpture "Boxer" which was purchased by the National Olympic Committee.
