Gates were standing open so I had to take the photos separately.
St. John Catholic Cemetery
New Haven, Adams Twp, Allen County, IN
St John The Baptist Catholic Church-New Haven
Located on the north side of U.S. 24, east of New Haven, near the city limits. Early French and some German settlers. In use.
1897 - 1909
In order to find this grave (must have walked right past it at least once) I had to go visit the church and ask them to tell me where it was located.
They provided me with copies of the section maps so I could find it. I will include those here too. The grave is under a nice big tree.
The solid red line shows the graves still owned by Bernard Solon, and the dashed red line shows the graves Bernard originally bought but later returned to the cemetery.
The church also found Mareta's death record in their books and they were able to tell me that she
died 16 March 1909 (age 11) and was buried 18 March 1909 and that her residence at the time of death was listed as Harrison County, Ohio.
They could find no record of Bernard or anyone else being buried in the 2nd grave he bought. They had no other records of SOLONs.
