My Brother
As I have not recd any answer to my letter I have concluded to write you again.
I am still on my crutches yet but I think I am slowly improving. my family are
all well except Sallie. She is up. I wrote you I
would come if I can make the arrangement. I will come if I can. I heard from
the old lady Arnol last week. she is in bad health, not able to get about but
little. Foristers and Stokes Allen's families are all well.
Crops are fine. I never have seen them better in this county. Wheat will not
average more than a half crop oats nearly ruined with rust.
We had a bad accident in ol man Bishops family a few weeks ago. Frank shot his brother John accidentally. he
was at the end of a hous while rainy shooting at a mark and his brother came up
from behind the hous and walked between him and the mark jus as he pulled the
triger shooting him though the neck. Killed immediately. Never spoke after
being shot. write to me immediate after you receive this. you wrote you wanted
some spring fish hooks. if you have not got them yet I can have you some
ordered and you can write whether you want them or not. I want you and all of
the connection to write to me. give my love and the love of all the family to
yours.
I remain your affectionate brother until death.
