My Dear Cousin
Your most highly appreciated letter recd a few days and contents noted. The
reason we all have not written to you is we all have been unwell most, and Palmer Duke dies last fall. Lucy's baby, Jim
Duke is married to Lula Omary. He married just before
Christmas.
Times is right hard here now with most every body money very scare, but very
few farms made corn enough to carry them through. Right many have to live out
of the store buy every thing all the time to eat, but we hope crops will be
good this year and time will be better.
Matila and Plunk is well and getting on tolerbly well. The only children of Uncle Green Paschall we know any thing about is Dick Paschall. he lives up in Warrenton with his sisters up
near Cedar Fork. He is farming. He has married the second time. and Sarah Green she lives in Warrenton. Uncle
Billie Langfords family lives down at Hickford, Va. We have not heard a word
from any of them in a long time.
This leaves all well and getting on tolerbly well. Hope you are all the same.
Wite to me soon and a long letter and all the news. News is right scarce now.
So I will close hoping to hear from you all again soon.
I remain your Cousin,
to f
Mathena Duke
