ARMY SERVICE CORPS

The Auckland section of the ASC of the expeditionary force now at Trentham has been completed. This body will have the important departments of commissariat and transport to look after. The men enlisted very readily for this corps. The names of those chosen are as under:-

REINFORCEMENTS DRAFT - THIRD INFANTRY

Most of those accepted will join the fifth reinforcements and make up the Otago shortage. In addition to these, there are 35 men enlisted here who will be posted to the 15th, North Auckland, Infantry, and another nine to the 11th, North Auckland, Mounted Rifles.

The examination of about 50 non-commissioned officers of the territorials and senior cadets, who are aspirants for commissioned rank, was commenced on Tuesday.

THE REINFORCEMENTS - MOUNTED RIFLES DRAFT - THE ARMY SERVICE CORPS

Auckland has been called upon to supply a quota towards the Wellington military police. A separate body is being formed so as not to interfere with the training of recruits. Three men, Sgt E NEAREY, A J KEARNS and W WILLIS, left for Wellington on Monday to join the force.
