GALLIE, JEANETTA ISABEL nee MORGAN

 

Jeanetta Morgan was born in Dunedin about 1921, the daughter of George and Janet Carswell Morgan nee Campbell.In 1947, she married Alexander Thomas Gallie at Eltham.

 

Following World War Two, Jeanetta became secretary of the women's section of the RSA in Eltham, a position which she held for many years.She was also secretary of the original Eltham swimming baths committee right through to the completion of the baths, struggling to raise funds during periods when money was very hard to find for such projects.

 

Jeanetta was a member for 25 years of the Eltham Little Theatre Society, a committee member for ten years and in the chorus of Annie Get Your Gun when she died suddenly on the 13 April 1979 at Eltham aged 58 years.She is buried at the Eltham cemetery.
