Erie Railroad Biography - A.J. McHale


From the January, 1910 issue of Erie Magazine (Port Jervis News):
Engineer A.J. McHale was serving as Second Assistant Engineer of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, Sub-Division No. 732.




From the May, 1914 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine:
A.J. McHale's name was listed on a resolution of condolences from the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineer's General Committee of Adjustment on the death of Committee Member William H. McCannon.




From the December, 1924 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine:
A.J. McHale, while engineer running train No. 6, discovered a broken rail west of Skinners, Delaware Division, and promptly reported same at Nobody's.




From the December, 1935 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine (Port Jervis News):
Engineer A.J. McHale of the Delaware Division completed his last run on the Erie Limited into Port Jervis on Oct. 22nd (1935) after many years of faithful and efficient service. Mr. McHale has not been placed on the retirement list but on account of his age had to be transferred from the passenger service. Mr. McHale was well known on the Delaware Division and will be greatly missed by his numerous friends who wish him success in his future postion.




From the August, 1937 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine:
Allegany Division Engineer A.J. McHale of Hornell was retired and placed on the special allowance payroll recently at age 71 after 49 years of service.
