From the June, 1906 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine (Huntington News):
Engineer "Gus" Krouck, for many years an engineer on the Chicago Division of the C&E RR, died very suddenly at his home in Huntington on Saturday, May 19 (1906). He went to bed Saturday morning in the best of health, asking his wife to call him at 3:15, as he was due to go to work at 6 that night. When Mrs. Krouck went to call her husband she was horrified to find him cold in death, having died of heart disease.
