Employed in service as brakeman, May 20, 1885. Promoted to freight conductor, April 21, 1886. Married, age 28, March 13, 1889.

Suspended one week from July 4th for not being on leading car when backing into "Y" at Marshland, derailing two cars. Suspended 5 days from April 27 for hauling SRL Refrigerator 3215 to Chicago, March 7, 1893, when car was billed to the II&I at North Judson. Suspended 14 days for not issuing sleeping car checks in accordance with the rules, on No. 8, Sept. 25th, 1894. Promoted to regular passenger train August 10th, 1895.

Dismissed March 14, 1904 for attempting to do things inimical to the Company's interest. Notified by Supt. HDM, 3/14, File 13314.
