The following was crossed out:
"Changed color of lens in marker, contrary to standard which nearly caused an accident to passenger train at Germany Feb. 4, 1899."

November 6th, 1901 - As conductor on No. 83, had cut his train on passing track at Griffith to make delivery of 23 loads to the EJ&E, leaving 14 on passing track. 2nd 86 arrived with 54 cars and with but 10 minutes to clear No. 8's block at Highlands. Had to cut off engine and set 83's train on the middle track and by the time they pulled in the clear, delayed No. 8 eight minutes. Deerwester should have pulled rear end of train in the "Y" which would have given 2nd 86 a clear track. Poor judgement. Notified 11/27/1901, file 4997.
