Erie Railroad Biography - George McKinnon


From the December, 1913 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine:
On a recent date, while engineer G. McKinnon, New York Division, with engine 835, was running train 515, the engine developed a broken front section of frame at the entrance of open cut, Jersey City. Notwithstanding this defect, McKinnon brought his train to Essex Falls on time.




From the July, 1928 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine:
George E. McKinnon, 71 years old, died recently at his home in Passaic. For 45 years he had been an engineer on the Greenwood Lake division of the Erie. He was a member of the Little Falls I.O.O.F., and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. Surviving are the widow, two daughters, three sons, two sisters, and four brothers.
