J. FETTERLY
Entered service as brakeman, 1889. Suspended 10 days for throwing switch under engine 44 on July 9th, letting it off track at Markle. Suspended 5 days from April 5th, 1890 for misplacing switch at Griffith. Reprimanded Dec. 23rd for hauling NYLE&W 21674 from Pullman to Hammond on Nov. 25, 1893 on bill for 21764.

On March 20th, 1894, John Fetterly came to us at Hammond claiming to have been regularly promoted to conductor Feb. 14th, 1890 by O.F. Gross, at that time Trainmaster of both divisions. Mr. Gross admitted to me that he examined Fetterly for conductor during the winter of 1889-1890 and that he passed the examination successfully. Had neglected to enter it into the record on account of Fetterly taking charge of work at Hammond and was not positive as to the month and day promotion was made. H.D.M., 04/02/1894. Promoted to yardmaster at Hammond, Feb. 18, 1899.
