From the February 21, 1896 issue of The New York Times:
James Harding, engineer of the Jersey City drill engine, pushed a caboose into a horse car crossing at Grove Street Feb. 20, 1896, injuring 5.




From the November, 1926 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine:
James H. Harding died on Sept. 27 (1926) at Honesdale, Pa., aged 81 years. Formerly for many years he was a locomotive engineer on the Delaware division of the Erie Railroad, during most of which time he lived at Port Jervis. He is survived by three sons.
