Age 22 years, Residence at Huntington, IN. Single. Enters C&E service Nov. 18, 1890.

Suspended April 28, 1892 for damage to T&OC 4710 at Leiters April 15th. Responsible for damage to cars at Rochester, August 26, 1892. Suspended 10 days from Aug. 29th.

Suspended from Dec. 16th for meddling with crossing gates at DeLong, Dec. 14th, 1892. Promoted to train baggageman June 12th, 1893. Transferred back to freight service as brakeman Aug. 15th, 1893.

Suspended 15 days for not being on top of his train (3rd 81) approaching DeLong crossing, March 5th, 1894. Train failed to stop and struck crossing gate, a Vandalia passenger train barely got across ahead of 3rd 81.

Suspended 30 days for not seeing that west switch on crossover on south passing track at Hammond was wrong, when he and fireman J.H. Jones started for water tank through siding with engine 519 and 5 cars of air (equipped with air brakes) off head end of 1st 82 of April 12th, 1894, they ran through crossover, through main track switch and clear out on main track with engine and five cars right in the face of No. 13 who had a narrow escape from colliding with them.

Promoted to extra conductor, Jan. 31st, 1899.

On Sunday morning, Feb 19th, on north siding at west end at Rochester waiting for 3rd 90, on No. 3, 30 minutes before 3rd 90 arrived, he was notified to back his train up in siding to leave room for 3rd 90 to head in. These instructions were disregarded and No. 3 received a serious delay.

On Oct. 12, 1901, freight conductor on Chicago Division. Resigned. On Dec. 27, 1902, employed as switchman, Hammond yard. Resigned on Oct. 2, 1903.
