Erie Railroad Biography - Michael J. Moffitt


From the September, 1935 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine:
Michael J. Moffitt, retired locomotive engineer, died at his home in Meadville last month. He was a member of the B of LF&E, B of LE and St. Brigid's Church. Surviving are two sons, Lawrence P. of Meadville, and Tracy, at home; also two sisters, Mrs. Bridget Pitts of Corry and Miss Anna Moffitt, at home; and one brother, P.J. Moffitt, also of Meadville; and two grandsons.




From the February, 1939 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine:
Meadville Division Engineer P.J. Moffitt of Meadville was retired recently under the new federal Railroad Retirement statute at age 69 after 48 years, 4 months of service.




From the December, 1942 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine:
Patrick J. Moffitt, 71, retired Erie engiineer, died at his home, 404 Poplar Street, Meadville, last month. He had been in Erie service 56 years.

He was a member of St. Brigid's R.C. Church, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, and the Erie Veterans' Association.

Surviving are his widow, Mayme E. Moffitt, and a sister, Miss Anna Moffitt, Erie, PA
