Erie Railroad Biography - S.F. Miller


From several 1911 issues of Erie Railroad Magazine:

Susquehanna Division Engineer S.F. Miller, running engine #1114, appeared on the roster of the Order of the Red Spot several times in 1910 and 1911, awarded to engineers with particularly well-maintained engines.




From the February, 1915 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine:
Susquehanna Division engineer S.F. Miller was commended for running his engine for 22,302 miles between October 14, 1914 and December 15, 1914 without any engine failures.




From the May, 1916 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine:
S.F. Miller, Engineer, Susquehanna Division, gets recognition of having made 20,726 miles in switching service, without an engine failure.




From the September, 1928 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine:
S.F. Miller, Engineer of Binghamton, Susquehanna Division, was retired recently from active service and placed on the speacial allowance payroll following 51 years of service.




From the February, 1930 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine:
Sterling F. Miller, of Binghamton, an Erie engineer for 52 years, has died. He is survived by his widow, son, Frank S., and daughters, Katherine E. and Mary M. Miller.
