From the July, 1929 issue of Erie Magazine:
Thomas J. Ketcham of Matamoras, PA, for 40 years a locomotive engineer on the New York Division of the Erie, died May 18 (1929) after a long illness. He was a veteran of the Civil War, a member of Division 54, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers of Port Jervis, and of the Epworth Methodist Episcopal Church of Matamoras. The surviving relatives are a son, Jefferson J. Ketcham of Port Jervis; two daughters, Mrs. Catherine Baum of Matamoras and Mrs. J.E. Myers of Jersey City; one sister, Mrs. Clara Anderson of Port Jervis; and three grandchildren, Olive and Robert Ketcham of Port Jervis, and Wallace Myers of Jersey City.
