V.D. SINGER
Age 29 years, married. Formerly with B Line 2 years as brakeman and 4 years as conductor. Enters service as brakeman, March 5, 1890.

Examined and promoted to conductor, November 19, 1890. Suspended 10 days from Feb. 13, 1891 for allowing his train to run crossing at Marshland Feb. 6th. Suspended 5 days from Nov. 26th, 1892 for following No. 5 too close from Hoovers to Rochester. Suspended 7 days from March 20th, 1893 for disobeying order of Superintendent to lay at Bippus on account of Huntington Yard being blocked. Reprimanded for delaying through freights by holding main track to do work on 32, June 23rd and on 31, June 24th, 1893.

Suspended 7 days for running 4 cars of rush freight at Hammond on No. 33, June 16th, 1893. Suspended 30 days from Oct. 14th for failure to comply with Rule 103 where his train (Extra 514 West of Oct. 12th, 1893) parted at Englewood. He had a C&WI switch engine shove the rear portion of his train toward 51st Street Yard without sending a flag ahead, and forward portion, backing up for rear end, collided at 59th Street. Suspended 7 days from Dec. 3rd for failure to report himself clear as per block signal Rule A, at Kouts, on Extra 4 East of Dec. 2nd, 1893, causing 5 minutes delay to No. 5.

Reprimanded for not clearing No. 14's time at "HY" Tower on 1st 86 at Highlands, March 14th, 1894. Held No. 14 eleven minutes. Suspended 7 days for leaving bill for Erie car 28778, rush freight for Chicago, at Hammond on 1st 81, March 3rd, 1894. Car arriving in Chicago without a bill caused it to be delayed 36 hours. Suspension in effect May 28th. Reprimanded for burning journal off SRL 2214 on Extra 508 East, March 13th, 1894. Suspended 2 round trips for not remaining between switches at Clear Creek until 90 departed, on 2nd 81 of March 30, 1895. He put 90 into the siding, then backed up to take a run at the hill holding 90 until his train got out.

Reprimanded for making two errors in wheel report for 1st 78 of July 12th, 1895. Reprimanded Aug. 27th for going to sleep after being called for 2nd 83, August 21st, 1895. Had to be called a second time and delayed train.

Suspended 7 days from Sept. 9th for running from Newton to Levings on short time against No. 8 of Aug. 21st, 1896, holding No. 8 five minutes. Suspended 10 days from Nov. 26th for running from State Line ... (See Page 190)

(From Page 97) ... to Hammond against No. 380 without orders on 391 of Sept. 18th, 1896. Suspended one round trip from Aug. 21 for handling NYLE&W 34464 from Huntington to Griffith on bill for NYLE&W 34465 on 1st 83, August 13th, 1897.

Discharged on April 8th, 1901 for having a head end collision at Levings Switch, March 22, 1901. Fully reinstated May 8th, 1901 as a conductor. Discharged March 3, 1903.
