Erie Railroad Biography - W.B. Tighe


From the May, 1934 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine:
Delaware Division Engineer W.B. Tigue of Port Jervis, NY was placed on the special allowance payroll and retired at the age of 72 after 46 years, 7 months of service.




From the May, 1942 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine:
William Tigue, 81, for over 50 years a locomotive fireman and engineer on the Erie's Delaware Division, died at his home, 149 East Main Street, Port Jervis, March 22 (1942), after a long illness. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen, Lodge No. 700, and St. Mary's Church. Surviving are two sons, John J., Newark and William B., Detroit; four brothers, James, Susquehanna, Joseph and Frank, Port Jervis, and Edward, Rochester.
